Late one night, David decided to take Hitomi, Spectra, Volt and Seiya for an excursion in the Digital Sea. However, they were soon besieged by XANA's forces, led by William.
"You still have William on your tail, Hitomi?" David asked.
"Yeah. Can't shake the guy." Hitomi said.
"Don't worry. I'm coming. Watch out on your left." David said.
"Fine then." Hitomi said. "I'll let you have this one."
David chased William as Hitomi worked and got clear.
"You're clear. You can head back to the main unit." Spectra said.
"Hey, tall, dark and handsome. You're not gonna get anywhere with people like her if you don't back off a little. Take my advice, give her some room." David said to William.
"Grrr…how about you go for a swim?" William growled as he fired some torpedoes.
As the torpedoes fired, a ring appeared as they disappeared through them.
"What? Where did…" William said before his shots appeared behind him and shot him.
"You're welcome." Volt said, piloting beside David.
"I was about ready to get him." David said.
"Hmm…" Seiya pondered as he saw Hitomi returning with a shark-like monster chasing her. "Hey, you've got a tail, Badger."
"Yeah, I see him." Hitomi said as the monster was firing at her as she tried to take it out.
"We need to abort the mission. The Nav Skids have taken a lot of damage." Spectra said.
"We haven't even gotten close to the Replika, but you're right. We can't take any risks out here." David said..
Spectra then spotted the shark chasing Seiya and Hitomi. "That one's mine." Spectra said as he fired torpedoes from the main Skid, destroying the monster.
"Nice shot, Phantom. He overstayed his welcome a long time ago." Hitomi said.
"You're welcome." Spectra said. "Nav Skids, in." he said as the nav skids docked onto the main Skid. "Preparing to return." he said as they returned to both Sector 5 and the real world. "Another failed mission. XANA is getting more fierce."
"I don't even remember what you guys were trying to do." Kazuma said.
"It's such a simple procedure that…" Odd said.
"Still, having different leaders take charge improves teamwork, especially when we plan large attacks." Volt said.
"Yeah, I think you made a good team-bonding practice there, at least. So that's worth something." Hitomi said.
"Aw, don't try to butter me up." David said.
"For now, we should head to sleep. We need rest if we're going to continue operations like these and ones in the future." Spectra said.
"Spectra is right. Goodnight, guys." David said.
The next morning, the school group were walking about when they spotted the Lyoko Warriors all together and approached them.
"Hey guys, are we having a strategy meeting?" Frisk asked.
"Yeah, about what to do with Kiwi." Ulrich said.
"Oh, come on, Ulrich. He's not that bad, is he?" Odd asked.
"Bad? You think I like having to sleep in wet sheets when you forget to take him for a walk?" Ulrich asked.
"Look at things from his perspective. The poor thing has been cooped up all day." Odd said.
"The poor thing. He chews through all of my books." Jeremie said. "How do you think I feel?"
"Well, paper makes Kiwi sick, so you should've been careful not to leave them lying around." Odd said.
"And what about my stuff? Is it because I leave them around that Kiwi steals them?" Aelita asked.. "I spend my time digging through the campus grounds. The groundskeepers think I'm a nutcase."
"We think that Kiwi deserves to be punished." Jeremie said.
"Hold it, your honor. My dog has the right to a lawyer." Odd said. "Yumi?"
"After what he did to my new shoes last week? No way." Yumi said.
"Uh…guys?" Odd asked the school group.
"Sorry, Odd. No offense to Zacian and Zamazenta, but I'm more of a cat-lover than a dog-lover. This is out of my hands." David said.
"In a way, both sides are right." Shantae said.
"See, Shantae agrees with me!" Odd said.
"No, she's neutral." Shun'ei said.
"Sorry, Odd." Shantae said. "While it's true that Kiwi is a dog who does dog stuff, the others should also keep their stuff somewhere he can't reach at all."
"Uh…Shantae?" Pit said pointing to nearby where Kiwi was ripping something that looks like one of Shantae's outfits.
"Ah! Where'd he get that?! Oh no, I forgot to lock my room!" Shantae said.
"Always practice what you preach, sister." David said.
"You see what we mean, Odd?" Ulrich said.
"Okay, okay, I get it." Odd sighed. "What's the punishment?"
"In order for him to learn what he's done is wrong, he should spend a week in the factory." Jeremie said.
"What? A week in the factory all alone? How could you guys do that?" Odd asked.
"It was easy." The group said collectively.
"Don't worry. He'll be fine in the factory for a week." Emilia said.
"Fine? Being in a lab all day may be fine for Jeremie, but not for my diggity dog." Odd said.
They soon stopped by the lab as they left a nice spot for Kiwi to settle in.
"Even remembered your froggy. No one understands you, not even our so-called friends." Odd said making sure to comfort Kiwi after the others left. "Be brave, my little diggity dog." he said as he was the last to leave the factory.
Kiwi didn't really know what was going on, so he just laid down to rest. But then, he suddenly perked up when an alert went off on the factory computer. XANA was about to attack.
"Hermit to all friendly forces, a tower has been activated in the Desert." Hermit said.
"Thanks Hermit. We'll keep an eye out for anything XANA sends out." Kendo said.
"Not jumping at the first chance to get ahead?" Hermit asked.
"Can't really do that, I'm about to attend one of Jim's extracurricular activities. I'll call you back." Kendo said, hanging up and entering the gym.
"Ah, there you are Kendo! Glad to see you've taken interest in attending my Pencak Silat class." Jim said.
"And why is she here, anyway?" Sissi asked.
"These classes are open to anyone, Sissi." David said.
"Yes. Not to mention a very useful skill out in the field. Isn't that right, Jim?" Harumi asked.
"You're right about that, Ishihara. Pencak Silat, as the name implies, is a combat technique. Its three parts, consisting of asthetics, self defense and spirituality. All three can save your life, especially if you're parachuting into the Burmese Jungle during the height of the monsoon season." Jim said doing some poses.
"I want to improve my skills so I'll be more prepared for anything. It's always good to exercise the mind and body." Kendo explained. "But I didn't think you'd be interested in this kind of thing, Sissi."
"Hey! For your information, I really am interested in learning Pinching Skillets too!" Sissi said.
"It's Pencak Silat." Johnny corrected.
"Hang on, what're you two doing here?" Yumi asked, noticing both Johnny and Hiroki.
"We came here to be with you. I love hanging out with you, sis." Hiroki replied.
"All right. We're going to start with some warm ups and…" Jim said before Milly and Tamiya walked in. "What in the?"
"We're doing a story on Punching Muskrat. Ishiyama said it was okay." Milly said.
"Is this true?" Jim asked Yumi.
"What?" Yumi said.
"No, it wasn't her. It was him." Milly said, pointing to Hiroki.
"Well uh…" Hiroki said as he blushed.
The others were around the academy with some chilling in the rec room as Aelita and Jeremie played Go.
"Take your time." Aelita said.
"It's impossible to concentrate with that racket." Jeremie said, referring to the gamers.
"Hey, we're good at this." Dan said as the computer beeped.
Jeremie went over to it and checked. "Activated tower."
"Where?" Aelita asked.
"Desert sector." Jeremie said. "Let's hurry."
As they hurried out, those in the gym tried to slip out only to see a robotic dog outside.
"Kiwi 2?" Kendo said.
"Unless Jeremie added a new program, it shouldn't be out here." David said as the eye of XANA was seen. "Oop, never mind. That's not Jeremie." he said as Kiwi 2 started to multiply. "What the?"
"And that would be XANA's tampering." Kendo said. "Going for the factory isn't an option with so many. Back into the gym!"
They ran in as one slipped through the door and bit Johnny and Milly before being broken.
"I gotta call this in." David said as he contacted the Galaxy King. "Come on… Someone please, respond."
"David, what's wrong?" Spectra answered.
"Ah, Spectra. XANA has possessed Kiwi 2 and multiplied him. Harumi, Kendo and I can't get to the factory the normal way." David said.
"There's a passage in the boiler room. However, I doubt those mutts will standby and let you all catch your breath." Spectra said.
"That's what I'm afraid of. In case we can't make it there… You, Volt and Hitomi will have to be the ones to go to Lyoko." David said.
"So that's what that late night excursion last night was for…" Seiya said.
"Of course. Consider it done." Spectra said as he hung up. "Move out. Hitomi! Volt! Seiya! We're on."
The four of them along with Odd and Aelita entered Lyoko as they made their way to the tower, which was in plain sight.
"This…this is too easy." Volt said.
"You're right. It's like…" Spectra said as he looked to the side and drew his plasma blade and cut an attack. "We were walking into an ambush." he said, seeing William across the way.
"You're so clever…" William complimented. "I shouldn't expect anything less from someone like you."
"Well well, tall, dark and broody." Seiya said.
"Oh hi kettle, I'm pot." William snarked.
"Aelita, go for the tower." Spectra said as Aelita flew towards it. "Hitomi, Volt! Cover her!"
"Of course!" they both said as they covered Aelita.
"Thanks for sending them off. I've been itching to knock you two down a couple pegs after last time." William said.
"That's never gonna happen." Seiya said bluntly. "You're pretty stupid to think you can take both us on at once when you couldn't even blow us outta the water last night."
"Has anyone ever told you you've got a big mouth?!" William said, rushing Seiya as he blocked with his Platinum Sword+.
"I'm perfectly prepared." Seiya said as he overpowered William, sending the boy stumbling back. "I'm 100 percent ready for this."
"Don't go hogging all the fun." Spectra said. "Zekrom!" he called out as his link appeared before using Burst to merge with it.
"I've sure got some big fish today…" William said, looking a little less sure of himself than before.
Meanwhile, Aelita was flying ahead to the tower, but was ambushed by a Tarantula hiding in a rock formation.
"Looks like Spectra's hunch was right." Volt said. "Monsters lying in wait."
"Then let's tear it to shreds." Hitomi said.
"Just a minute. I have an idea." Aelita said as she hid behind another rock and made a clone of herself. "This should keep its focus."
"Clever girl. You copied the robo dogs trick XANA gave it." Hitomi said, actually impressed. "Well, better keep the illusion. Shall we, Luster?"
Hitomi then dashed at one of the Tarantulas, claws out. She evaded its laser cannons as she sliced it right up. "You wanna code me, you'll have to do a lot better than that."
"Hmm…well…can't keep her. Hoopa!" Volt called out as he went and used Burst with Hoopa before vanishing through a hole and reappearing behind the monsters and attacking with punches.
William meanwhile was fighting Seiya and Spectra in a losing battle, but then he saw Aelita running off.
"Dammit…I don't have time to waste here! Super Smoke!" William said, quickly phasing over to where Aelita allegedly was, knocking her down, then quickly proceeded to throw her over the edge and right into the Digital Sea. "Hah! Easier than I thought. Now all that's left is to wait for Hopper to swoop in and save the day."
"He would… if that really was the right Aelita you just tossed overboard." Seiya said.
"Were you expecting my father to show up?" Aelita asked. "He won't be coming today."
"What? But… H-how?" William asked.
"Simple. The Aelita you dumped was a fake." Hitomi said.
"However, you are not." Spectra said, attacking William with a Bolt Strike.
After William was dealt with, it wasn't long until Aelita entered the tower and deactivated it, putting an end to the Kiwi 2 menace.
After the RTTP…
"When I saw the Kiwi 2s multiplying, I decided to do the same." Aelita explained.
"That was smart. Using XANA's trick against him." Volt said.
"And the rookie couldn't help but fall for it." Seiya said.
"Hey, it all worked out so well because William was distracted." Odd said.
"That was due to Seiya and Spectra giving him such a hard time." Jeremie reminded.
Shantae laughed a bit. "Um, Odd?" she asked, pointing to his pant leg.
"What? Are you trying to tell me Kiwi would ever do his old tricks on me? After everything he did to help me out on Lyoko?" Odd asked.
"He just did." Shantae said as the pant leg was ripped up.
"Oh, that's just uh… from ventilation, it's so hot in here." Odd denied.
"Yeah, sure." Kendo said. "Kiwi is Kiwi… but you know? I think I prefer him to a robot any day."
