Who knows what true happiness is, not the conventional word.. but the naked terror. To the lonely themselves, that wears a mask, the most miserable outcast hugs some memory.. or some illusion.
Days Later
Lucas awoke to the sight of his wife with a large stomach.
"You have never looked better." Lucas stated matter of fact.
Brooke jumped. Not realizing her husband was awake.
"You have to say that. I'm gonna get huge!" Brooke proclaimed. Pulling the pillow out from under her nightgown.
Lucas got out of bed. Taking her into his arms.
"You'll be beautiful. Stunning. I can't wait to watch you're body change. Feel the kicks and hang up the ultrasound pictures in my office."
"I know you're worried and terrified about this process. But i promise you. I'll be there every step of the way." Lucas reassured her.
"Okay. I trust you. I need to eat. But morning sickness makes that impossible. Dry toast and fruit. I'll make that for myself. Make anything for you and Eugene." Brooke replied.
Between the fatigue. Food averisions. Brooke was so coming to grips with how much pregnancy was changing life as she knew it.

"Breakast is everyday at 8am and dinner is at 6pm. No electronics. It's family time." Lucas explained. Once him and Brooke got into the kitchen.
After serving one of Brooke's favorite meals. Breakfast scramble.
"How is school going.? Are you adjusting to student life at the middle school.?" Brooke asked. Looking to Eugene.
"I'm still trying to find my classes so sometimes i'm late but the kids are nice. Well. One of them anyway. Mackenzie. She sat with me at lunch the past few days and today she wants to introduce me to her friends."
"I mean what do i say.? What do we talk about.? They all grow up together in this town.? I'm like an outsider." Eugene questioned.
"You don't worry about that. This the chance for you to get to know them and for them to get to know you. Don't put pressure on yourself."
"Mouth is one of my best friends. Him and Mellie have been together since freshman year. Good people." Lucas replied.
"Caring about what other people think is a waste of time and energy. If she didn't want to be friends she wouldn't be introducing you. Enjoy it. I would of been lost without my friends in high school." Brooke stated matter of fact.
