Chapter 20
People don't change
But they can.
Lucas took ahold of Brooke's hand as they left the office. He was taking the rest of the day off to spend with his wife. But before they could do anything else.
They went back home. Showered and changed.
"I'm all yours. What are we doing with the rest of the day.?" Lucas asked. When they met up in the hallway.
"Anything we want at least until Eugene get's out of school. Which won't be for awhile." Brooke replied.
"I loved reconnecting with you. But i thought you weren't open to alone time right now. Have you changed you're mind about that.?" Lucas questioned.
Brooke thought it over. She knew he was asked about her sudden drop by. Sure she did that all the time pre pregnancy but since then things between them were distant.
"I was nervous and unsure about if it would be the same between us. For now. I want us to enjoy become closer then we ever have. Especially now. After the babies are born. I'm probably going to change my mind." Brooke admitted.
"We'll both be tired and focused on the babies. Along with parenting Eugene. It's going to be alot. Which is why we have to keep talking and being honest with each other." Lucas stated matter of fact.

Hours Later
Eugene was making his way out of his last class for the day.
"You have the worst timing. Joining this school at the end of the school year. Lucky for you. We found each other."
"I go to the end earth for my friends. Make this summer count."
"Redo's only happen on tv and movies. You can be anyone you want to be." Mackenzie stated matter of fact.
"Being myself is requires all my energy. Eugene replied.
"It's good that i like you then." Mackenzie said.
Eugene watched her leave and join her friends.
While he left through the exit doors. And got into the awaiting car.
With his dad and Brooke.

Weeks Later
17 weeks in. Brooke was growing in more ways then one.
Her morning sickness at last was over and she had the hunger to eat anything she could get her hands on.
Lucas being the devoted. Loving husband he was. Made sure to have the fridge and cabinets stuffed with the cravings his wife was having. When she changed her mind.
He was off to the store.

Peyton. Haley. And Brooke were at the spa. Enjoying some quality girl time.
While Eugene was meeting with Mackenzie's friends without Mackenzie.

Marvin McFadden. Was a sports reporter. On location.
When he spotted her. He planned to avoid her.
He had decided to go to a bar to unwind before returning to his hotel room. He was only there for a few days.
He didn't need a distraction.
"Mouth." Rachel said softly. Engulfing him in a hug.
His presence calming her.
For her he was the one that got away. The one she pushed away.
Before Mouth and Mellie. There was Mouth and Rachel.
