CH.6: Panic at the party part 2
Sasha was driving Marcy to pickup Anne, as she was often the last one she picked up. Sasha had decided to go with a simple outfit for the party, nothing too fancy but also not something she'd just normally wear. Tonight she wore a black jacket over a white tank and she had a plaid like skirt with some boots, oh and stockings. Sasha had some muscle to her now since her time in Amphibia so it was sort of difficult going back to the way she was. Her blonde hair was done up in a ponytail so her hair wouldn't be all over the place.
Marcy was dressed in a green dress with one strap and her hair was done up in pigtails. She kept moving about in her seat and her heels kept kicking at the back of her seat.
"Mar Mar must you do that?" Sasha looks into the mirror to see just how uncomfortable her friend is.
"Sorry Sash, it is just...when I had my mom help me pick out an outfit, I never thought in a million gazillion years that she would choose this. I didn't even know I had an outfit like this, ugh, this isn't even my scene. I would prefer a cosplay event or something where I could feel more...comfortable-."
"Look, I get it, first day of Senior Year and attending a party thrown by Robin of all people. Even so, we should take advantage of this situation as all those other years we have yet to even experience a boy girl party. Stick with me and Anne and we'll brave this night."
"Hmm, ok, fine...but there better not be any drinking. I know how these parties are, peer pressure, dares, I do not do well in those situations."
Sasha laughs lightly but she doesn't do it to make Marcy feel bad. Honestly Sasha was just as worried about what lay ahead. Robin had assured her though through text that there wouldn't be a lot of people there as some were canceling already. Part of her though was nervous as she pulled up in front of Anne's house.
"Where is she?" Sasha thought to honk the horn but that is when the front door opened and out stepped Boonchuy. Anne was wearing a white dress with her hair parted along her left most eye, a jean jacket was over her and instead of heels she wore sneakers.
"Hope I didn't keep you two waiting. Uh...Sash...you doing alright?" Sasha didn't realize her mouth was held open and had to correct it as she laughed.
"What, I'm fine, just...don't read too much into it Boonchuy. We should get going but only once you are inside the car..."
"Very smooth Sash," Marcy says. Sasha shoots her a look and Anne joins them. Sasha didn't think that Anne was even into dresses but somehow she wore it so well.
"Looks like I'm not the only one who had their mom help out," Anne points out. Sasha was just realizing that her mother didn't help her pick her outfit out. Was that bad? As it was she was also the only one not wearing a dress.
"It is just for this night, anyway, Sasha you going to drive anytime soon?" Sasha realizes they are still parked so she starts up the engine and drives them to the party.
Anne enjoyed the way the breeze felt tonight in her hair and she would sometimes cast a look at Sasha who was really rocking that look of hers. Part of her wanted to comment on her rocking that outfit or the way she smelled, not that she was smelling her, cause that would just be weird. Honestly there wasn't a time when Sasha didn't rock whatever she wore.
"So...our first Senior party, I mean, not the party for old people of course..." Anne laughed awkwardly.
"Don't sweat it Anne...we knew where you were going with that. It is a long time coming though, and, just remember to enjoy yourselves tonight. We probably won't stay too long though..."
"Hey my curfew isn't till 9:30," Marcy says from the back seat. Anne was relieved to hear Sasha say that but she was also figuring along the line of thoughts Marcy was putting out there.
"Say Sash...is there a reason for leaving early?" Anne can see Sasha focused on driving but she also knows Sasha is mulling over her answer by the way her mouth moves back and forth.
"I-It is just...well...I have to drive you home then I have to drive Marcy home. I am the only one of us with a driver's license and last thing I need is an earful from your parents on why you were late on a school night, I mean, hello...if word got back to my parents I might actually have to take the bus Senior year."
Anne looks back at Marcy and they both nod in understanding. "It is fine Sasha, really, we don't want you to get in any trouble."
"Plus...not even sure how long I will be able to stay in this dress." Anne and Sasha both exchange looks. "Oh c'mon you both know what I mean!"
"Relax Mar Mar we know what you mean." The two of them attempt to fight past their laughs at how Marcy is reacting. Marcy though eventually joins their laughter.
"We seem to be hitting a lot of red lights tonight," Marcy comments. Anne seemed to concur but Sasha for her part didn't seem too worried.
"We'll be there soon enough...and...it is going to be the time of our lives." Anne hoped she was right. Wow...she could just stare at Sasha for, well, long as this red light held. Much as she thought of Sasha in the, well, not friend sort of way...there was no good way of approaching her about her feelings. If Sasha didn't feel the same way as her it could be all over, and, by that she meant seeing Sasha each morning as she was picked up and what time they had at school. The light would turn and she looked away before Sasha could call her on staring.
Robin had everything ready for the party and she was moving around greeting guests as they came in. However the guests she was most eager to greet arrived by stepping out of a fancy vehicle with plenty of leg showing in their cut out dresses.
"Maya! Felicia! You both made it!" Robin wore a rather tight black dress that showed her figure along with stockings and her red hair was parted some just so it didn't get in her eyes.
"Well of course we made it, we so enjoy the party scene." Maya had orange like hair that happened to be parted to the left leaving little hair to her right. She wore a blue dress with no straps and she certainly had plenty of makeup on.
"So are they here yet?" Felicia had brown hair that was rather long so it was done in a very long braid behind her back. Her dress was red and a bit more daring with plenty of plunge to it.
"They will be...so...it is really happening tonight right? I mean the fact I had to initiate contact with Sasha and all...it has really kept me back socially." Robin was younger then Maya and Felicia but she knew full well of Sasha and her rebellious attitude. Honestly it peeved her too considering how she stood up for those two, Wu and Boonchuy, bullying was at an all time low when they had their protector looking out for them.
"Robin you need to relax, all will happen in due time. We will set everything up...all you will need to do is make sure that the pieces wind up in the places they are meant to. By the end of tonight Sasha Waybright will be ruined and possibly this trinity that has plagued you so."
The three of them share a knowing smile before they part ways. Robin has no regrets. While Sasha had potential, and, she seemed like a good person, she also couldn't be rid of her faster. This was her Senior Year and she wasn't going to let Sasha steal it from her.
Sasha pulls up in front of the house noting how there is still parking. "I guess we weren't as late as you guys thought huh?"
"Forgive us Sasha for we are just two fledgling Senior students and we know naught how our words impact thee." Sasha burst into laughter as her friends put on that air of acting.
"Alright you both are forgiven. Now let us not waste any more time sitting in here when the real party is just up those steps." Sasha made sure to turn off the engine and unbuckled while the others got out of the car.
Robin's home was simply stunning. It was a two story master piece of sorts cut out of fancy dining. Robin's parents had high profile jobs which ensured maintaining such a home in such times. Sasha figured even with the combined income of her divorced parents affording such a home seemed out of their range. However Sasha didn't really think living in such a home would bolster her status in the school hierarchy. They were finally here, the three of them, and looking at her watch she saw that it was around 7:45.
"You three made it! Welcome to my home and the best party you will ever go to!" Sasha saw Robin waiting for them, odd, but then again it was her house so being a good host had to count for something.
"Evening Robin. I'm sure you remember Anne and Marcy." Sasha indicates her best friends as they stand on either side of her.
"Oh of course, I have seen them around school and I have heard so many stories of you two from Sasha herself. Well enjoy yourselves this evening and please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions."
"Cool beans, I'm starving, might stop by the kitchen first." Marcy walked in and Anne with her. Sasha was left with Robin and before long she follows the other two.
"Oh Sasha a word..." Sasha turns around finding Robin there. "I'm sure you have noticed but these two always seem to be attached at the hip. I would keep an eye on that...perhaps there is more there then meets the eye."
"What are you implying Robin? I mean not that there is anything to imply, they are just friends, best friends...and...they are my best friends." Sasha worried she might slip up here.
"I am sure you three have been through a lot together. Thing is...feelings do tend to rise when time spent is in close quarters. I could be wrong though...and this is just a friend's concern, nothing more. I am looking out for you Sasha...that is just what a good friend does."
Sasha watches as Robin leaves to greet some more guests as they show. However her feelings of insecurity begin to grow as Anne and Marcy share a laugh. Did she have nothing to worry about or was her entire world caving in?
Authors note: Apologies on delay. Also the two females who show up here with Robin are actually the grown up versions of the two females from the swingset in that flashback. If they have actual names let me know otherwise yeah next chapter will bring the house down, not literally of course but figuratively and such.
