An update in a month. Well, I guess it's not bad. Considering my slow update that's a start. Since I also write another story at the same time it's pretty hard, to be honest. I wish I can do better.

Anyway, here's the second chapter.

'Eh? I... I was saved?'

After the explosion, my legs finally give in and I just take a sigh of relief. I still don't understand how I met a boss monster this early. Maybe it's just a stroke of bad luck, I really hope that's the reason.

"Are you okay-nyu?"

"Y-Yes..."

When I saw my savior it was a little child just like me. However, she was riding a yellow strange creature but I decided to not question it. She then asks me the reason why I'm here in the first place and when I told her I was currently taking an exam for the adventure guild she just nods before escorting me to the city. I ask her if she was also an adventurer but to my surprise, she just going out because she feels like it.

By the way, my jacket is currently unzipped right now. I was expecting her to tell me that I need to zip it but looks like I was wrong. She just ignored it like it was a normal thing around here. Is this kind of belly exposure normal even for a kid? I still need to learn more about this world fashion so they won't call me weird in the future. Then again, this is a fantasy world so I shouldn't use the same mindset as my old world. Even though it's still a little bit embarrassing.

"My name is Broccoli nice to meet you-nyu."

"Nice to meet you Broccoli-chan. My name is Svelta."

"Svelta-chan, you seem new around here. Where did you live before-nyu?"

"Uhh... I forget. I think from somewhere far away?" I lied.

"I see... if you need help just search for me-nyu. I'm going to stay in Leanbox for a week before going back to Planeptune-nyu."

"Thank you Broccoli-chan."

With that, we then part way since I still need to report my quest to the Adventurer Guild. I also going to tell them about what just happened with the Giant Slime and how Broccoli-chan saved me. It's amazing how she is really powerful even when we're basically the same age... or that's what I like to think. Because, to be honest, I don't know what her age is and I'm not planning to ask her. But, that means I can also become strong like her. I just need to train until I reach that level.

Well... it's not like I'm actually in rush for getting stronger. I'm just going to enjoy everything in this world slowly.

Adventure Guild

"Ah, welcome back Svelta-chan." The staff from before waved her hand to me. "Did you finish your task?"

"Yes. Here the Dogoo Jelly." I said before putting the item from my bag.

"That's great! From now on you are an official member of Adventure Guild! Congratulations Svelta-chan!"

"T-Thank you."

"Now you can accept requests on the same level at your guild rank. You will start at rank F but if you diligently do the request and succeed you can raise your rank in no time! Of course, I advise taking the request that you sure can complete since failing will result in a penalty."

"I understand. Also, I was attacked by Boss monster earlier when I leave the place."

"Really? That's weird, you sure you're not wandering further to the forest?" I nod at her. "Can you tell me the details?"

I began explaining from the moment I finished the quest and met with Mr. Doggo. The way that big Doggo chased me and how Broccoli-chan save me with some kind of laser attack. The staff then proceed to write everything on paper before placing it on the table.

"I'm so glad that you save, Svelta-chan. Before I forget here's your adventurer ID and also your reward for passing the test." She said while giving me the ID and 2500 credits. "Some place will offer you a discount when you use their services since Lady Green Heart wants us to improve the adventurer life. To be honest I really appreciate her policy since that makes our morale high these days."

"Thank you, I will make sure to make the guild proud!"

"That's my Svelta-chan. And don't worry about your report I will make sure to tell the guild master about it. Also, if you meet with Broccoli-chan tell her that I said thanks for helping."

"Will do. See you later miss, I need to search for Inn first."

"Okay. Be careful~"

Walking around the town was kind of different in the evening. Since some people are finished with their work, the street becomes more packed than before. The shopping area is really lively with bars, night club, and some night restaurants starting to open their businesses one by one not to mention a huge screen that is blaring with music and a lot of colorful holograms that make it more lively.

"First thing first I need to find a place I can sleep."

I walked through the busy street while looking around for a hotel. I still remember that lady from the guard post saying it's the opposite direction from the shopping street so I guess I'm pretty close right now. I keep walking while avoiding bumping into anyone until I reach a building that had a big hotel sign on the front. Without hesitation, I then walked inside to rent a room.

Inside the hotel was a pretty luxurious place. Of course, it still looked futuristic just like the other building and I can see people chatting, drinking, or just watching something on the giant tv in here. I then approach the front desk to check in.

"Welcome to our hotel miss. How can I help you?"

"Can I stay here for some nights?"

"Of course. We still have some available rooms on the third and sixth floor how many days do you want to stay?"

"Umm... I guess five days for now."

"Do you have any ID?" I nod and give my adventurer ID to her. "Ah, so you're an adventurer. That means you get our special price, let's see... that would be 250 credits per night with breakfast and dinner or if you prefer eating outside that would be 150 credits per night."

"I will take the 150 credit one, please. Can I get the one on the sixth floor?"

"All right. Svelta... the 150 credit for five days, that will be 750 credit is that all right?" She said before I give her my credit card and began registering me on her computer. "Your room number is 57 on the sixth floor. Here's your keycard, credit card, and your ID. Thank you for your patronage and I hope you will enjoy your stay."

I take all of it before putting it inside my bag. I then thank her but instead of going to my room, I decide to go outside and find a restaurant first since I haven't had dinner yet. Walking around the area for a bit I decide to go to a family restaurant and luckily the place was not crowded. I decided to order a hamburger steak with a milkshake for tonight.

After waiting for my order, the waitress finally arrived before placing my food and drink on the table. I thanked her before begin to eat my dinner.

'This is the first time I eat in a restaurant and not isolated alone in my apartment. Eating while looking at the outside scenery is a whole new experience. Even though I just looking at the busy street... but still, I thankful to that Goddess for giving me a wonderful experience.' I ended my thoughts and happily eat the rest of my food.

After paying for my food, I went back to the hotel and finally get to my room. It's a spacious room with a double bed in it. There's also a big TV hanging on the wall with a mini-fridge near it. I decide to take a bath first and that's when I realized something.

"...I don't have spare clothes and underwear. The one I wear is already put inside the washing machine. Looks like I will sleep with the oversized clothing for tonight, I should buy some spare tomorrow." With that in mind, I finished bathing and finally went to sleep.

Next Day

"Thank you for your purchase!"

I walked out of the same clothing store as yesterday while holding a bag full of clothing. I decide that I'm going to buy the same piece of clothing because this is a video game world. I will use different kinds of outfits for the occasional events such as going to the beach or attending a formal place. Pretty sure I'm going to confuse the staff in Adventure Guild if I change my style every day. I then put all of it inside my bag before making my way to the guild. On my way there I came across a crepe stand so I decided to take a bite first since I haven't gotten my breakfast.

"Welcome! What kind of crepe do you want for today, young girl?"

"Can I have the strawberry one please?"

"Sure! That would be 50 credits."

I give him the credit since I still had the reward money from my first quest. I decided to minimize the usage of my credit card to avoid some unwanted attention. That's why I must earn more credit on my own with my job as an adventurer.

"Thank you for waiting! Here's your crepe, young girl!."

I receive my crepe and thank him before searching for a bench for me to sit on while eating, luckily I found one nearby.

'This is delicious! I guess the one I saw from anime is not lying about how delicious this food is. Maybe I should make this one of my goals, to eat all the delicious food this world has to offer. Yes, that's not a bad goal. I can't wait to eat them all, hehe.' My thought was interrupted when someone suddenly appear in front of me. Or maybe because I didn't realize that the person are walking in my direction when I was deep in my thoughts.

"Excuse me, may I sit on this bench little girl?"

When I looked at the person it was a tall woman with long off-red colored hair that wearing some kind of nurse outfit... or it was a maid outfit? Deciding to not worry about it I answer her question with a yes since it doesn't bother me at all.

"Thank you. Well then excuse me." The lady then sits beside me. "By the way, can I ask you something?"

"Sure. What is it, miss?"

"I hear you encounter a boss monster in an unusual place yesterday, is that right?"

"Ah, that big dogoo. Yes, Broccoli-chan saved me from being squished."

"Is that so? I'm glad to hear that. If it's not trobling you can I ask you to escort me there? I want to conduct some investigation regarding that unusual encounter."

'Is she an adventurer? Or someone related to Lady Green Heart?' "Okay! But, is it all right for me to go to the guild first? I want to take a quest before we go out."

"Sure. I almost forgot to introduce myself, my name is Cave. I was asked by a friend of mine to solve this issue."

"My name is Svelta, nice to meet you miss Cave."

"Likewise."

I finished the rest of my crepe before going to the guild. Miss Cave also coming with me, she said she needs to discuss something with the guild. I bet it's also related to the boss monster I encounter yesterday.

Adventure Guild

'Hmm... is there any easy quest?' I look around the quest board for an F-rank quest. I want to take it easy so I'm just going to take one quest, take a break and pick another quest later. Since I'm still at F-rank my quest mostly just kills a small number of monsters, collects an item, or a delivery quest. I'm going to went outside the town so I decided to take the collecting quest. "Collect ten herbs? I think I should go with this." I take the request paper and give it to the staff that currently talking to miss Cave. "Excuse me. I want to take this quest." I said while showing her the paper in my hand.

The staff then notice me and take the paper. "This is going to be your first quest as a guild member then, Svelta-chan?" I nod at her. "Just search for a floating question mark when you arrive at the field. Since it's just herbs I'm pretty sure you can get it without encountering any monster but please keep your guard up. I don't want something like before happening again to you, Svelta-chan. But, I shouldn't be worried since you have Cave looking out for you."

'Ehh? A floating question mark? That's a thing around here? But anyway...' "Is miss Cave also an adventurer?"

"No, I belong to the Security and Defense Organization, Leanbox Special Mission Department."

"Ehh!?"

"She's very strong you know? They said she as strong as the Goddesses." The staff said that while looking at miss Cave smugly.

"That's an exaggeration."

"Anyway, good luck on your quest Svelta-chan. I will wait for your safe return."

"R-Right."

Gapain Field

After walking about fifteen minutes we finally arrived at the quest location and the place where I almost got squished by the giant doggo. Miss Cave said she going to escort me until I finished gathering the herbs before investigating the area. Since I don't have any reason to decline I just let her do it because she also taught me some basic skills of exploring.

"You can find some herb around here. See this floating thing? That means you can collect various items depending on the place and time you interact with them. How about you give it a try?"

Surprisingly there's a floating question mark just floating on the ground. I was surprised when I finally saw one and I tried my best to tell my brain to accept it. In the end, I only managed to nod and try to search for some herb from it.

Obtained Herb (2x)!

After the sudden notification, I realized I currently holding some kind of plant in both of my hands. I then decide to put it inside my bag and noticed the floating question mark are gone.

"Great job. That question mark we usually called harvest spot. It will take some time until it refreshes so it would be best to search for another one. Also, if you see a floating cube that means you found a treasure, it mostly contains some items or a rare material so be sure to look up for it."

"G-Got it!"

"Let us continue."

After a few minutes, I finally finished the quest. I currently got ten herbs, two iron ore, and five plants. I honestly don't know the difference between the plant and herb. Thankfully the notification helped me. I also beat some Doggo since miss Cave let me deal with it by myself while she just instantly killed a fusion of bird and horse creatures in a single slash of her weapon. As expected from the special force she is really strong.

"Looks like that's all of the herb you need, Svelta."

"Yes. Thank you very much for escorting me, miss Cave."

"I'm just doing my job. Do you have an Eject Button? I had a feeling something or someone make the monster work up for some reason. It would be best if you went back as soon as possible."

"I have one." I said while rummaging my bag before pulling out the Eject Button. "Are you going to be okay, miss Cave?"

"Don't worry. Protecting the citizens of Leanbox is always my duty." She said as she pats my head. "Now, press the button after I walked away from you."

"Okay!"

Following her instructions, I wait for Miss Cave until she had some distance from me before I finally pressed the button.

*Beep!*

Suddenly a light starts forming on my feet before slowly engulfing me. I just closed my eyes since it was too bright and when the light died down I realized that I'm standing at the entrance of the field.

"Now I understand why it won't work when the monster still chasing me."

I also noticed that the button on my hand had disappeared without any trace. After shrugging it off I then walk towards the town so I can report my quest.

'And another level for me.' I closed the notification while drinking my boba. I currently taking a break and just wandering around Leanbox. The reason is to avoid getting lost when I do a delivery quest inside the town. I slowly got the grasp of this big town even when I got into a dead-end several times earlier.

"This drink is really sweet! I love it." I dispose of the trash before continuing to explore. Currently, I was near the big building that people call basilicom.

"This is the place that the goddess of this town resides right? I wonder what kind of work she had right now? Well, I mustn't bother people around here so... Off to the next place."

Walking in another direction I found myself in the middle of a big park. Some people having a picnic around here, there's also a street performance, various food stalls, a mascot, and many more. It makes this place lively and I liked it. That's when I saw someone familiar currently resting under the shade of a tree.

"Broccoli-chan!"

"Nyu? Ah, Svelta-chan."

I ran towards her before taking a seat beside her.

"Broccoli-chan, I want to ask you something."

"What is it-nyu?"

"What's Planeptune looked like?"

"Hmm... It was very bright I guess-nyu? There's so much technology and holograms-nyu."

"I-Is that so?"

"Yes-nyu. That's right since you are a guild member, did you know that the famous person in the guild is a resident of Planeptune-nyu?"

"Really?"

"She called IF-nyu. I met with her a few times before-nyu. She usually wears an oversized blue coat-nyu."

'Eh? I think I heard someone like that before... Ah! That's right! When I was trying the clothes at that store.'

"Are you okay-nyu?"

"Y-Yes, I just remembered something."

I spend the rest of the day hanging out with Broccoli-chan. She gives me a tour around the town so I won't get lost again. She also told me about her recommended places to eat, buy supplies even to get armor and weapon. Unfortunately, they only have a small selection of guns in this town. Broccoli-chan told me if I want to get a powerful gun I should go to Lastation since the goddess candidate is the only one that uses a gun among all the people Broccoli-chan knew. I hope I can meet with the goddess candidate when I traveled to Lastation but that is just wishful thinking.

Meanwhile in Planeptune

A woman with an oversized blue coat is currently talking with someone on the phone. "...I see. How about the new member? ...is that so? Well, I'm glad if she is fine. No, I haven't seen her since Neptune being a lazy goddess again. Yeah, I will go to Leanbox as soon as I can. Later Cave."

*beep*

"What is that IF?"

"Oh, Histoire. I didn't know you here."

"Well, I decided to make some tea before signing those documents again. *sigh* How about you?"

"A new guild member was attacked by a boss monster on her test. Cave currently investigating how the boss monster suddenly appears near the entrance of that place."

"That really unusual. Perhaps you should bring Neptune and Nepgear there."

"You sure about that?"

"Rather than Neptune just playing games all day it's better for you to drag her out and make her do some quest. Her level will slowly decrease if this keeps up and I don't want a sudden crisis to appear from nowhere with Neptune being a low level."

"Haha, right. Then, we will go to Leanbox in two days. I'll be sure to inform them."

"Thank you IF."

xyzdreadnought: To be honest I just asked my friend to make an OC for me and the result is this little version of Vert known as Svelta. I don't know if it's intentional or not but I guess I'll never know. And unfortunately, I still don't have any proofreader for this so I just rely on Grammarly for now.
