Berk

"Astrid!" Gobber yelled as he and Astrid's folks walked through the wood. The lass often ventured out into the woods, but she usually returns. But she was missing and Spitelout said to give it time. She'll come back. Gobber just thought it was the idiot Chief's way of payback for Astrid's refusal to marry Snotlout. Gobber hated the Chief. It was supposed to go to Hiccup, but the relentless bullying from Berk and especially Snotlout forced Hiccup to run away. Gobber remembered when Astrid helped Hiccup from time to time and the old blacksmith cared for Astrid for it. When Stoick died, Hiccup came under Gobber's care and he consider the young heir an adoptive son. Out of everyone in Berk, Gobber hurt the most. He didn't want Astrid to disappear too. So the small group of Vikings kept searching.

The Dragon Scale

Hiccup waved his hand for the Dragon Riders to carefully lower the massive warship into the sea. It has been a day since his scout mission and now they were preparing for an assault on Berk. For this mission, Hiccup had this warship built for those who don't ride dragons yet are willing to fight, the Defenders of the Wing. It was larger than the Hunter Ships but equipped with ballistaes on the sides, Monstrous Nightmare cannons, Catapults, and stronger wood. Hiccup gave a breath of relief when the large ship splashed into the sea. The crew began to raise the ships when Grim Ofieg and Thorve Nasidottir landed on the bow of the ship.

"Any good news?" Hiccup asked as they jumped off of their Deadly Nadders. Toothless began to play with the two dragons on the deck.

"Not much changed. But it appears the Hunters are using the Great Hall to feast." Grim answered and Hiccup smiled knowing that the chances for his plan to go on without a hitch were increasing.

"Okay, send more scouts ahead." Hiccup ordered before yells echo from below deck. He turned to see Astrid running for the side of the ship. Hiccup put his helmet on as she jumped overboard. A Rider and a Deadly Nadder swooped down and grabbed the cursing Viking. Hiccup walked over as the Nadder dropped Astrid. "Can you please stop trying to escape?"

"Not until I am free on Berk." Astrid replied sharply.

"Well good news then, we're almost there." Hiccup remarked and Astrid's eyes widen. He helped her up and grabbed his spyglass. He handed it to her tied up hands and Astrid raised it. She lowered the spyglass puzzled. "I told you, I would return you home and here we are. Heading straight for Berk." Hiccup added and for a moment, he thought Astrid would calm down. The punch in the face was the response instead. Hiccup fell and Astrid unsheathed a Viking's knife and cut the rope for a catapult. Warriors tried to catch her, but Astrid is the best warrior in the Archipelago. She punched, stabbed, sliced, and kicked anyone who tried to stop Astrid. The dragons tried to stop her, but Astrid lured them into damaging the battistaes. Hiccup bolt to his feet and ignited Inferno. Her stolen knife clashed against the flaming blade. Hiccup opened the Zippleback canister and gas started to leak, Astrid remembering last time bolted back and tripped over Hiccup's tail. She fell as did the unexploded gas. Hiccup grabbed the stolen knife and handed it back to the Viking owner. Then he turned back to Astrid who was on the ground still. "Astrid, if everything goes according to plan we'll have eight ships intact, the Hunters prisoners, and Krogan. My intent with Berk is not to destroy it or hurt the people. Only Krogan. I promise you that and I have kept my word have I not?"

"That doesn't change the fact that you're a Dragon Rider. A traitor to all Vikings." Astrid replied.

"You don't think I know that. When I first meet Toothless, I knew I betrayed everything I know. That my father would be disappointed with me. That my mother who believed in peace with dragons would be disappointed that I sided with the creatures that killed her. But everything I have done, I've done for my people. Whether they will hate me for it or not. I did it for them." Hiccup said before helping her up. "I will take you back home and I will do everything in my power to insure the safety of Berk. But you need to stop this fighting."

"Fine, but it anyone is hurt, I'll put my axe in your heart." Astrid promised and Hiccup nodded.

"I expect nothing less." Hiccup said.

Berk

Hiccup looked through his spyglass at his scouts overseeing the entrance of the Great Hall. Astrid impatiently waited for them to land on the main island. Hiccup and Toothless landed on the sea stack so Astrid couldn't try an escape at the risk of serious injury. Instead, she was annoying him the best she could. Humming, tapping his shoulders, and asking how long until she can return home. Hiccup ignored her the best he can, but she clearly learned from the Twins. When the scout lit a flare, Hiccup grabbed a flare and lit the Nightmare Gel. He tossed it off the cliff and Toothless jumped off the sea stack and glided down to the Great Hall. The Dragon Riders snuck to the hulls of the ship. They jumped on board and silenced the warning bells before they can ring. The three landed in front of the doors and Hiccup jumped off, before helping Astrid off the Night Fury. As Dragon Riders landed behind them, Hiccup scratched his best friend's head.

"Okay Astrid. You first." Hiccup said and Astrid opened the doors to the cheering halls.

"Astrid where have you been?" Astrid's mother asked before Hiccup revealed himself.

"Who are you?" Astrid's father asked as Hiccup forced Astrid further. He saw Berk and the Hunters prepare their axes until Toothless walked in growling. The Berkians eyes widened. Hiccup made Astrid stop when Spitelout, Gobber, and Krogan stood at the Chief's table. Hiccup grabbed his knife and cut the ropes around Astrid's hands.

"Go to your family." Hiccup ordered and Astrid raced to her parents and hugged them. Krogan whispered something to Spitelout.

"You got a lot of nerve coming here Dragon Master!" Spitelout yelled. "You're outnumbered! Not even your monster can save you!"

"I prefer Dragon Trainer and my army is outside. Ask Lady Astrid if I'm wrong." Hiccup replied and all eyes turned to Astrid. She nodded and the Chief of Berk had to tread carefully.

"What do you want traitor?" Spitelout asked gripping his axe.

"I am here for Krogan and his men. The people of Berk are not my target." Hiccup answered and Berk laughed.

"If you're after Krogan then you're after Berk." Spitelout said and Hiccup knew that Krogan brought Berk to Drago's side.

"So you would align with murderers of Chiefs? Including your Stoick the Vast?" Hiccup replied and silence gripped the hall. Berk outnumbered the Hunters so a fight would end badly.

"Our Chief died to a stranger. How do you know it is Drago Bludvist?" Gobber asked.

"Because Krogan told me himself when we met years ago." Hiccup answered and Gobber put his hook next to Krogan's neck and the Vikings raised their weapons ready to fight the Hunters.

"Is that true?" Gobber asked.

"Yes. Now I see it was unwise to tell this boy that secret." Krogan answered and Spitelout slammed his axe into the table.

"Krogan and his men are yours Dragon Master. Now leave Berk." Spitelout ordered and Hiccup nooded. Toothless gave a light roar and Hiccup's forces accepted the prisoners. Gobber escorted Krogan to Hiccup.

"Make him and Drago hurt for me." Gobber asked and Hiccup nodded.

"I will." Hiccup promised before leaving the Great Hall.
