Ash's POV

I can't believe it. I just lost. I've lost to Gary a couple times before, but this loss was unlike any other. I was just outsmarted, outpowered, and outplayed.

(Flashback)

"Now Psybeam." Sabrina said. Mr. Mime fired a beam of psychic energy at Wartortle, causing it to faint.

"Use Psychic." Mr. Mime fired a huge blast of psychic energy at Butterfree, causing it to faint.

Slowking fired a Hyper Beam from its forehead at Gyarados, causing it to faint.

"End this farce of a battle with Water Pulse." Slowking fired an orb of water at Pikachu, causing it to faint.

(Flashback end)

Normal POV

"I need more training. And Sabrina was right, I do need to mentally grow. But I need to go to the Chateau, to support Misty, like how she and Brock supported me." Ash said to himself. Ash had just gone to the Pokemon center.

As he was walking, he found a brown, foxlike Pokemon in an alleyway. It looked cold and hungry. "That's an Eevee!" Ash said, running to the Pokemon. "Hey, little buddy. Why are you out here?" Ash asked. Eevee squeaked sadly. "Did someone abandon you?" Ash asked.

Eevee nodded sadly. "Come on. I'll feed you and get you warmed up." Ash said, picking up the evolution Pokemon. Ash took her to the Pokemon center. After Nurse Joy healed her, Ash gave her some of his home-made Pokemon food and she happily ate it all.

"Hey Eevee, would you like to come with me? I promise I won't abandon you like your last trainer." Ash asked the Pokemon. Eevee smiled and touched one of Ash's pokeballs. The pokeball shook, once, twice, three times, he caught it.

Ash bought out his Pokenav and started texting to Misty.

Ash: I don't think I'll be able to make your battle Chateau. There's something I need to do. Sorry Mist.

Misty: Okay. Sorry about your loss. Wish me luck.

Ash: Thanks, I know you'll win.

Ash ended his text with Misty. He bought out his Kadabra. "Kadabra, please teleport me to Professor Oak's lab." Ash asked his psi Pokemon. Kadabra nodded and transported them to Oak's lab. Ash saw all his Pokemon. He let out all the Pokemon he had on him, and Pikachu jumped off his shoulder.

"Hi Professor." Ash said to the old man that was feeding his Nidorino some Pokemon food. "Ah, Ash my boy. Good day! What brings you here?" Professor Oak asked. "I'm here for some heavy-duty training with all of my Pokemon." Ash replied.

Professor Oak smiled and left him to it. "Everyone! We just lost badly to Sabrina. It's time for some hardcore training!" Ash said to all his Pokemon. They all cheered. "Pair up! Time for some sparring!" Ash called out to them.

Pair 1: Pikachu and Eevee

Pair 2: Butterfree and Beedrill

Pair 3: Pidgeotto and Kadabra

Pair 4: Wartortle and Slowpoke

Pair 5: Bulbasaur and Mankey

Pair 6: Krabby and Gyarados

Pair 7: Charmander and Ash

"Charmander, you'll train with me. You need to work on your physical moves. You have your fire and dragon ranged attacks. You need to learn about close combat. So, give me your all!" Ash said. Charmander nodded and its claws glowed with metallic steel energy and started scratching an old tree.

"We need to do better. We're going to work on Dragon Claw and Thunder Punch." Ash said. Charmander nodded and they got to work.

(With Misty)

Misty was now fighting a new trainer called Jake in the finals. Jake was very mean and strict to his Pokemon. They were just about to start. "This will be a 3 on 3 battle. Begin." The referee said. "Go Fearow." Jake said, taking out his huge sparrow Pokemon. "Squirtle let's go!" Misty said, releasing her turtle Pokemon. "A weakling like that can't win." Jake harshly said.

"We'll show you weak! Aqua Jet!" Misty said in anger. Squirtle covered itself in water and charged toward the midair Fearow. "Pathetic. Wing Attack!" Jake said, crossing his arms. Fearow swatted down Squirtle with a glowing wing. "Sky Attack go!" Jake continued. Fearow glowed for about 10 seconds, then struck at the weakened Squirtle, causing it to faint.

"Squirtle is unable to battle. Fearow wins!" the ref said. Fearow squawked happily. "Don't celebrate! You didn't win yet!" Jake said to his Pokemon. Fearow lowered its head in shame. "Hey, be nicer to your Pokemon you big jerk!" Misty shouted angrily to him. "Mind your own business, pathetic slime." Jake rudely said to her. "I"LL TURN YOU TO SLIME!" Misty angrily said. "Misty calls Staryu!" Misty said, sending out her star shape Pokemon.

"Use Fury Attack." Jake said calmly. Fearow' s beak glowed and tried to peck Staryu multiple times. "Staryu! Rapid Spin!" Misty countered. Staryu dodged the hits and spun, hitting Fearow in the chest. "Follow with Thunderbolt!" Misty continued as Staryu fired a bolt of electricity at Fearow, hitting and electrocuting it for some damage.

"Come on! Drill Peck!" Jake angrily said. Fearow made its beak spin like a drill and pecked Staryu for a lot of damage. "Aerial Ace!" Jake followed as Fearow covered itself in blue streaks and it hit Staryu, dealing even more damage.

"Psychic!" Misty said. Staryu fired a huge blast of psychic energy at Fearow, who flew around it and pecked it with a Peck attack, causing it to faint. "Staryu is unable to battle! Fearow wins." The referee said. "Your Pokemon are weak. Surrender and spare them the pain." Jake said harshly. "I'll do a lot, but I'll never surrender." Misty growled.

(With Ash)

"Charmander! Test out your Dragon Claw move!" Ash said. Charmander's claws both were covered in green energy, and it slashed at two training dummies, destroying them both completely. Ash smiled, they had finally mastered Dragon Claw.

"Charmander, how about sparring against Krabby in a practice battle?" Ash asked. Charmander smiled and started punching the air, signaling that it was ready. Krabby shuffled up to them and went into a battle stance. Charmander went in for a Metal Claw, only to be blocked by Krabby' s own Metal Claw.

Krabby then went for a powerful Crabhammer, sending it flying into a tree. Charmander got up and fired a Flamethrower at Krabby for some damage. Krabby countered by then fired blobs of mud at Charmander (Mud shot), who hit them back with a Dragon Tail. Krabby shot all the redirected Mud Shots down with a blue covered blade of energy. Razor Shell. It then threw the Razor Shell at Charmander, doing some damage and severely weakening Charmander.

Charmander then covered itself in flames and charged into Krabby for a huge blow. Flare Blitz. Charmander went on its knee from recoil damage. Charmander then charged at Krabby with Metal Claw, and Krabby charged at Charmander with Razor Shell, and they met. After a power clash, Charmander broke free, and then ended the practice fight with a powerful Dragon Tail.

Ash grinned, Charmander had really gotten stronger. Krabby shuffled up to Charmander and they shook claws.

(Back with Misty)

Jake had just sent out a Marowak after Misty's Poliwhirl defeated Fearow. "Marowak, Bone Rush attack!" Jake said. Marowak formed a huge glowing blue bone and it started beating Poliwhirl with it. "Stay strong! Ice Punch!" Misty said as Poliwhirl's fist was covered in ice, and it went to punch Marowak. However, Marowak used its bone to stop the attack cold. (Pun intended)

"Use Mega Kick!" Alex said. Marowak's foot was covered in orange energy, and it kicked Poliwhirl so hard that it got sent flying into the ceiling, it then fell to the ground with swirls in its eyes. "You're pathetic. You're a weak trainer with weak morals, and more importantly, weak Pokemon. We're done here." Jake said, returning his Pokemon, snatching the feather and King's Rock prize, and walked off.

"What a jerk." Brock said, walking up to Misty. "He beat me harder than Sabrina beat Ash." Misty said, returning Poliwhirl. "I need to train. We'll rematch at some point, and I need to be ready." Misty said. Brock nodded and Ash actually just teleported there.

"Did you win Misty?" Ash asked, Misty shook her head. "Oh man. That Jake guy sounds like a douche." Ash said. "Well, we can always train together." Ash said. Misty nodded as they fist bumped.

"We're back, and ready to win!" Both trainers said simultaneously. Brock smiled and followed his friends out.

Author: Done. Misty has a new rival, very similar to Paul. Jake is an OC. Anyway, next chapter is Lavender Town. Ash got an Eevee, so that's right, the Lost Eevee chapter doesn't mean that ASH will get it. But for now, Quantum signing out.
