Author: Alright, Lavender Town. I bet y'all are wondering, am I gonna do the anime version, or the game version? Find out.
Jerry: I've been looking forward to this chapter.
Author: You haven't appeared in a while. The fans miss you. Though your pop ins are annoying, the people love you.
Jerry: Of course, they do. I'm extremely lovable.
Author: That's enough of your boasting, Here's the chapter.
Ash, Misty, and Brock had all made their way to Lavender Town. Ash was here to catch a ghost type Pokemon.
"Remind me why you want to catch a ghost type?" Misty asked. "Because I need a way to beat psychic types, and ghost types are some of my best bets to beat them and they're supposed to be around Lavender Town. We should ask Mr. Fuji, who lives here, for some tips. Come on." Ash said, pointing to a huge house.
They entered the house, to find a bunch of Pokemon in there, and a girl crying in a corner. "Hey, little girl, what's wrong?" Brock asked the girl. "I-It's Mr. Fuji. I live with him, and when he went into the Pokemon Tower, Team Rocket kidnapped him and took it over. They were the ones who killed little Cubone's mother over here." The girl said, pointing to a small Pokemon wearing a bone on its head.
"That's it! They'll pay for this!" Ash growled angrily. "Brock, come with me. Misty, you stay here with…
"Reina"
"Stay here with Reina. Me and Brock are going to take them down." Ash said, making a fist. Brock nodded and got his pokeballs ready. They ran out the building and went into the Pokemon Tower. They were greeted by two rocket grunts.
"Hey! You two aren't supposed to be there!" one said. "Ash! Go up!" Brock said, releasing both Geodude and Zubat. "Go!" Both said, sending out a Machop and a Drowsee. "Zubat! Air Cutter! Geodude, Rock Slide!" Brock said. Zubat fired blades of air at both Pokemon, causing small explosions as they got sent back a few feet.
Geodude fired a round of rocks at the two weakened Pokemon, doing a lot of damage and knocked them both out. Then both Zubat and Geodude started glowing blue. Geodude turned into a huge boulder with four arms and two legs.
Zubat turned into a bat with a huge mouth, big wings, and eyes. Brock smirked, they both evolved. The two grunts ran away, and Ash ran up the stairs to the second floor. Ash found two more Rocket Grunts, which Pikachu quickly dismantled with Discharge.
Ash kept defeated grunts until he was at the top. He found a huge, red-haired woman wearing a white rocket outfit at the top next to a man that was tied up.
"Oh, a little rat has found a piece of cheese. I suppose you're here to get back Mr. Fuji. I am Ariana, executive of Team Rocket." Ariana said, readying a pokeball. "You're going down, lady!" Ash said, also readying a pokeball.
"Go Pidgeotto!" Ash said, sending out his avian Pokemon. "On standby, Nidorina!" Ariana said, sending out a four-legged poison pin Pokemon. "Pidgeotto, use Aerial Ace!" Ash said. Pidgeotto covered itself in blue streaks and he dashed at Nidorino, who kicked it back. "Horn Attack!" Nidorina said. Nidorina charged at Pidgeotto.
"Use your aerial combo!" Ash said. Pidgeotto grabbed Nidorina with her talons, threw her in the air, and slammed her midsection with Aerial Ace. She fell to the ground, in a lot of pain. Then, out of nowhere a Rocket Grunt came out of nowhere and grabbed Ash.
Pidgeotto went to try and help Ash, but Ariana used a tranquilizer dart to shoot Pidgeotto out of the air as she fell to the ground, unconscious. "Time to get rid of this little rat. And I happen to have some pesticide." She said as Nidorina charged at Ash, ready to unleash a devastating Horn Attack.
"Use Hydro Pump!" a new voice called.
A Wartortle blasted Nidorina, Ariana, and the Rocket Grunt with an incredibly powerful blast of water. It was Gary, standing in the doorway. Ash got free and returned the now unconscious Pidgeotto. "You're back from Fuchsia?" Ash asked. "Don't ask. Let's battle!" Gary said. Ash nodded and Pikachu jumped off his shoulder.
"Great. Now there's two of them." Ariana said angrily. The grunt sent out a Zubat. "Discharge attack!" Ash said. Pikachu fired off bolts of electricity at Zubat and Nidorina, knocking out Zubat and doing some damage to Nidorina.
"Aqua Jet!" Gary said. Wartortle covered itself in water and it spiraled toward Nidorina, sending it flying and knocked it out. "You'll pay for this. I'll see to it. You have no idea my true power." She said angrily as a chopper pulled up outside. She grabbed onto a ladder that the chopper lowered.
"Until our next encounter, which I guarantee will be your last." She said as she climbed the ladder. "Ash! Are you okay?" Gary asked. Ash nodded. "I'm fine, but how's Mr. Fuji?" Ash asked as the boys untied and ungagged him.
"Thank you, boys. " Mr. Fuji said. "Let's escort you out." Gary said, as they went down the steps, finding defeated and unconscious rocket grunts everywhere. They all went to the house, where Misty and Reina were waiting.
"Mr. Fuji!" Reina said, running up to him and hugging him. "Thank you all for all you've done for Lavender Town." Mr. Fuji said. "That reminds me! I need to catch a ghost type!" Ash said, running to the tower.
Ash ran up the stairs and found a floating spirit of gas with spikes on its head and two floating hands. "A Haunter!" Ash said, readying a pokeball. Haunter laughed and disappeared. "Haunter? Haunter? Come out!" Ash said. Haunter appeared behind with a chainsaw mask on and tapped his shoulder.
Ash screamed as Haunter laughed, loving her little prank. "Oh, so that's how it is." Ash said, putting his hands on his hips. "Well, do you want to come with me or not?" Ash asked. Haunter nodded and put up a battle stance, showing that it wanted to fight.
"Fine, Kadabra, I choose you!" Ash said, sending out his psi Pokemon. "Psybeam!" Ash commanded. Kadabra used its spoon to fire a beam of psychic energy at Haunter, who dodged and formed a ball of ghostly energy in its hand and fired it at Kadabra, hitting and causing an explosion. Shadow Ball
Haunter then covered its hand in ghostly energy, and it punched Kadabra's midsection, doing even more damage. Shadow Punch. Every time Kadabra tried to hit him, it disappeared and countered with a devastating counterblow. Ash gritted his teeth; he was in a tough spot. Then he had an idea.
"Use Miracle Eye!" Ash said. Kadabra closed its eyes before opening them again, this time they were glowing purple. It forced Haunter to come out of hiding, and Kadabra blasted it with a Psychic attack. "Go Pokeball!" Ash said, throwing a pokeball.
It shook once, twice, thrice, he caught it. Ash beamed, then picked it up before going back to the house.
(15 minutes later)
"Did you catch a ghost type?" Misty asked. "Yup, I caught a Haunter." Ash said. "And I decided to adopt this little one here." Brock said, picking up the Cubone and rubbing its head. Cubone cooed under his touch.
"So, Gary, how's Alice doing?" Ash said, a huge Cheshire grin on his face. Gary turned a huge shade of red. "I-it's nothing like that!" He stuttered, trying to defend himself. Ash grinned, "I was just asking about my sister!" Ash snickered, enjoying his time teasing his best friend.
"Um, I have to get going, Alice is waiting for me at the Pokemon Center." Gary said, starting to leave. "We should get going too." Misty said, also getting up. "Thanks again for everything you've done." Mr. Fuji said. He handed Brock and Misty two Key Stones, and Ash a mega stone. "I'm assuming you all know about mega evolution with the pendant around Ash's neck, and since Ash recently caught a Haunter, I think he'd like a Gengarite." He said smiling. "I happen to be the official Mega Evolution Guru of Kanto."
Misty and Brock were surprised by the gift, but gladly accepted it. The trio left for Celadon, continuing their journey once more.
