Chapter 13! I already posted a chapter today but wanted to post this one as well, since it is extremely short. Also, please read the author's comments at the end of the chapter! Enjoy!

Kai sat at the corner of his bed, currently inside the group's suite. The suite had become quite popular for the group, with Seiya and Silas recently moving into their own bedrooms there. Kai had walked out of Cynthia's organized meeting two hours ago, already regretting his decision. Kai hoped that his impulsive actions would not be the cause of being kicked out of Project Giratina. After completing their first mission, it was a thrilling experience for him. "God I'm a fucking idiot." Kai whispered to himself, wondering what criticisms Cynthia had about the way they handled Operation Eterna.

Kai had to have been lost in thought for at least fifteen more minutes before he heard his door open. With his eyes closed, Kai could already determine it was Sarah who walked in due to her aura. Kai didn't turn around, instead still sitting at the corner of the bed facing the opposite direction. Sarah sat behind Kai, hugging him from behind in a comforting and friendly manner. It wasn't supposed to be flirty or sexual in any way. It was just the gesture of somebody trying to comfort one of their friends. Something Kai greatly appreciated at the moment.

"Are you ok?" Sarah asked kindly, unwilling to let go of Kai. Kai shook his head, signaling that he wasn't. In response, Sarah only tightened her hug from behind, resting her head next to Kai's neck.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

Kai remained quiet, not answering for a few seconds. Sarah thought that he chose to ignore the question, until she heard him speak.

"I shouldn't have blown up on Cynthia like that. I fucked up bad Sarah. She deserved my attention and respect. Especially after everything she's done for me. Instead, I disrespected her without a single care in the world. I mean, Lance deserved what happened to him. But Cynthia did nothing wrong. She was only trying to be honest with us." Kai finished, his face now being covered by both of his hands in frustration. Sarah frowned at this, attempting to console him.

"You made a mistake Kai, it's normal. I'm sure Cynthia will understand. You just need to go and apologize to her. Make things right. She understands why you were upset. Just go talk to her." Sarah advised the black haired boy, massaging his shoulders to relieve some of his stress. Kai thought about Sarah's words for a minute, before making his decision. Sarah was right. Cynthia deserved an apology and she deserved it now. Kai had to make things right. He couldn't lose working for Project Giratina, especially due to some immature breakdown he had over some harsh words. Kai turned to face Sarah before hugging her tightly. Sarah smiled at this, resting her head on Kai's toned shoulder. Kai pulled away, kissing Sarah on her cheek for half a second.

"Thank you Sarah. You're absolutely amazing. Really." Kai told the black haired girl, who smiled at Kai, before she pushed him out of the door jokingly to apologize to Cynthia. "Well, that's one person down. Only one more to go." Sarah thought to herself sadly.

Cynthia sat inside her personal office inside HQ, shuffling through paperwork. She peered up from the packet of papers she was shifting through when she heard the door open. The Champion wasn't surprised when she saw Kai open the door slightly.

"Can we talk?" Kai asked hesitantly. Rather than giving a vocal response, Cynthia nodded, urging Kai to enter the room and stand in front of her. The room was quiet for a few seconds, before Kai spoke again.

"I want to apologize for how I acted this morning Cynthia. It was completely uncalled for and out of line. I disrespected you even though you were simply doing your job. You were giving criticism and I couldn't take it. It was extremely immature for me to behave the way I did. I understand if I'm no longer welcome here due to my actions." Kai told Cynthia seriously, nervously staring at the floor when he finished. Kai's words impressed Cynthia. She could sense that his words were heartfelt and genuine. Kai was not apologizing because he was forced to or to keep his role in Project Giratina. He was apologizing because he wanted to. Because he felt he had the responsibility to. Cynthia nodded in understanding towards Kai.

"Thank you for that Kai. While I was upset at your decision to walk out of the meeting, I completely understand why you were so upset with my words. I know the efforts you went through in order to make the mission successful. Kai, you were excellent during the mission, doing everything you were asked and more. However, that was one of the issues that had to be addressed today. There will always be criticisms and things we need to talk about in order to improve Kai." Cynthia stated, with Kai nodding in understanding.

Cynthia spent the next thirty minutes explaining exactly what she told the group in the meeting. During the talk, Kai remained quiet for the most part, remaining understanding and open to her words. Cynthia explained the key issues with May, Sarah, and Silas. Cynthia also complimented all of them on what they did correctly. Kai absorbed her words and vowed to help the group with their weaknesses, just like Cynthia had advised him to do when they first spoke at HQ.

"One last thing before you go. I still want you involved in Project Giratina. Nothing has changed because of what happened this morning Kai. Think about what I've said the past hour." Cynthia stated smiling. Kai agreed, thanking Cynthia appreciatively before leaving her office.

May lay in her bed alone, curled up in her bed sheets with the lights off. Silas and Seiya had attempted to comfort her in the family room. While the two meant well, they couldn't make her feel any better about herself. It wasn't their fault. The two teenage boys just couldn't get through to May due to them being so different from her. At least, that's what May thought. May was staring up at the ceiling when the door of her room opened and the lights flicked on. Upset that Seiya or Silas was inside her room, May sat up to scream at either one of them. She stopped herself when she saw Sarah at the door, smiling sweetly.

May still couldn't understand how the girl was so pretty. May no longer held any jealousy towards the girl due to her looks. Now, it was only admiration. Sarah had silky black hair that always looked so soft and well kept. She had a beautiful body, with a developed chest and butt. While her breasts weren't as big as May's, May still admired Sarah's body due to her attractive figure. Finally, the girl's face was absolutely gorgeous. Sarah had mesmerizing brown eyes, along with perfect facial features such as her nose, mouth, and jawline. The black haired girl just looked like a model.

"Do you want to talk?" Sarah asked kindly, not wanting to force herself on May. May was unsure, hesitant about what she really wanted. Sensing this, Sarah asked a different question.

"Or I could tell you something that could make you feel better. I understand if you don't want to talk." Sarah suggested, still standing by the door.

"Ok." May softly said, prompting Sarah to walk to her bed and sit on the edge. Sarah waited a moment before speaking again,

"Cynthia was completely wrong about everything she said about you in that meeting." May was about to interrupt Sarah before Sarah sternly put her hand up, not willing to let May stop her from saying what she wanted to say. Sarah continued with her rant.

"She thinks that you messed up the mission and handled it poorly. Well guess what. Was Cynthia there? Did Cynthia have to break into one of Chaos's bases and do what we were supposed to do?" Sarah asked May, challenging her to say no. Obviously, May couldn't disagree still curiously listening to Sarah.

"Cynthia didn't have to make the choices you had to yesterday! That's why it is easy for her to sit down and judge your decisions. She didn't have to make them. You did! I am going to be absolutely honest with you May because your one of my friends." Sarah stated, staring at May as she grabbed her hand in support.

"You weren't amazing yesterday. Sure you made a few mistakes. But we all did! You did the bet you could with what you were given. You were in a bad position and had to make the most out of it. You can't blame yourself for that. Ok?" Sarah said to May, prompting May to agree. May nodded, feeling better about herself.

"One last thing. That shit that Cynthia said about you relaxing while everyone else was fighting? Do not let Cynthia make you feel guilty about that! If we needed the help, Seiya, Silas, Kai, and I know that you would not waste a second in getting up and risking your life to help us. We didn't call you through the earpiece because we were honestly fine. If we needed your help, we would've called you for backup. So do not let Cynthia make you feel guilty about that girl!" Sarah told May strictly, her hand now gripping May's tightly. Touched by Sarah's words, May sat up quickly and wrapped her arms around Sarah tightly, hugging the slightly smaller girl. Sarah reciprocated the hug, rubbing circles on May's back to comfort her.

"Thank you Sarah. I can't even begin to describe how much your words meant to me just now." May told Sarah with tears in her eyes. Sarah nodded, hugging the girl one more time before getting up from the bed.

"Don't mention it May. Keep your head up." Sarah told May while smiling, before leaving the room.

The day had been stressful for everybody. However, it was a conversation that everyone would need to hear. Because of today, the bond between the group was stronger than ever.
