A.N. Hey it has been nearly 2 years now. Apologies for taking this long to continue the story. Originally it was writer's block then it was college. I will be continuing this fic on the side of my more prevalent Elden Ring/Asoiaf crossover fic "The Inbetweens of Roses, a Trout, and Stag".

With that said I hope if anyone is still following this fic they enjoy this chapter.

"I'm sorry did I startle you?" Dr. Cullen asked

No, it's just 5 days… he began counting the days on his finger.

5 days of my life are gone... In the course of what felt like maybe an hour tops.

"Yea a little bit… but it's ok … just shocked it's been 5 days."

"I'm shocked to I've dealt with short-term comas before but never had a case of someone as young as you…" he said that all with a very charming reassuring smile. Yet something felt off about it. Not as if the smile was Ingenuine but he just all in all gave him an unnatural sense.

"Any idea what it is?"

"Well, I can't say for certain at this moment, though you were in a very strange state for a brief portion of the coma, where several nurses, your father, and I thought you were going to wake up or go into a different state of consciousness" your heart rate spiked substantially but then shortly after it went back to a typical state that is common with patients who are asleep. This happened again right before you woke up.

"Father…"

"Edward, you know you're not permitted to be here when I'm with patients"

"I'm sorry the lady at the front desk just told me you were here"

"Well, I'll be right out but…."

At that point, Dr. Cullen stopped mid-sentence and looked to have gotten a weird look on his face if only for a second. Looking back over at Edward he didn't see any indication of anything that would produce that reaction from the dr.

Weird…

Speaking of weird his headaches are gone now the mild and major pounding he usually got around the Cullens seemed to be gone… normally he would've rejoiced such a change, but something within him felt unease at that. What that something was he could not place.

"Adam may I ask have you ever gotten your blood type analyzed"

"Um no, I don't believe so?" Why do you ask?

The doctor looked at him with a weird look, then produced a smile yet again.

"Well with your father's permission I personally did an in-debt blood analysis and I've come to the conclusion that you most likely have the rarest blood type RHNull"

"What…? Does this have anything to do with the coma?"

"Yea I was shocked too, And no it most likely has nothing to do with your coma, though again I have not reached an exact conclusion on how your coma appeared"

"RHNull? But wait, I thought the rarest blood type was AB negative?"

The doctor grinned with glee at his question.

"Yea that's a prevalent misconception even within the medical field. Though the rarest blood type is RHNull discovered in the early 60s in aboriginal Australian women… Though despite it being discovered several decades ago only around 40 people have been found to have the blood type."

The doctor's dopey smile remained he seemed to enjoy sharing this seemingly arbitrary information about his supposedly rare blood type.

"Only 40 people in Australia?"

"No only 40-50 people in the entire world are speculated to have it of course it could be more common than that but regardless it is still extremely rare"

"How did this happen?"

"I can't answer that perhaps somewhere in your genetics you had someone with the blood type"

"Regardless I got a bit carried away there, the point is you have a very rare blood type that makes you considerably more prone to immune and blood-related diseases. and you've been in a short coma, so with your and Chief Swan's permission, I would like to keep you here for a few more days. Go over with you and your family some treatment and preventative measures "

"I honestly would like to get out of here after finding out I've missed 5 days of my life" 5 days ill never get back…

"I can understand that, Mr. Swan all the same it is my medical recommendation, but it is entirely up to you and your father."

At Least he was honest. Realistically it would probably be best if he did stay, but simply put he didn't want to.

"I'd rather not stay… much longer if I can help it."

"Very well… that's perfectly alright. I still would like to run some analysis though."

Carlisle Cullen said with a picturesque grin at his explanation

Hmmm… this one was certainly different from his kids. Something almost normal about him but still uncanny. But the headache was undoubtedly lesser. That was nice at the very least.

He really didn't like the sound of getting an analysis though. But he figured he didn't have much choice in the matter either.

Shortly after Charlie visited him along with Bella, and all of her friends. He appreciated they cared enough to come to see him but admittedly was a bit weird considering he barely knew them… and he doubted his sister got that much closer to them in less than a week. Were they just bored?

Well, At least someone was making friends here.

"I didn't know what to do… " Charlie stated

"You called the hospital, didn't you? That's what matters" I reassured him, it was jarring to find out I lost five days of my life, and if he thought more about it it was weird that it happened in conjunction with his Strangest dream yet. Something was going on here, but he didn't have the strength to think about it yet. Regardless though it definitely wasn't Charlie's fault

"No that would be your sister, I was at work" he stated guilt-ridden.

"All that matters is that I'm ok now" I stated for charlie to hear loud and clear. It stung a bit that his dad wasn't there for him. He was hoping he would be.

"I was so worried about you!" Bella rushed to him, forcing him into a hug.

A hug that began to cut off his airflow,

"Sister, please…"

"Promise to never do that again" Some cross between anger and fear lingered on Bella's face.

He took a long breath.

"I'll try my best, but admittedly no one seems to have an idea what exactly caused it."

"What did Dr. Cullen say?"

"He said I had a rare blood type RHNull, but he didn't think it related to the coma"

"I never heard of that blood type? But why did he bring up your blood type if it had nothing to do with the coma?"

That was something he pondered for a moment, before recalling the doctor's earlier words.

"Well he said given it's a rare blood type, I'm more prone to certain diseases."

His sister's features turned to fear again.

"Do you know what diseases?"

"No… I'm guessing it could be any number though given he said blood and immune-related"

His sister's face no longer have away what she was thinking but it was obvious enough it wasn't pleasant.

What she said next certainly surprised him though.

"Why?"

"Excuse me"

"It isn't fair. It shouldn't be something you have to deal with"

Bella was right of course, he shouldn't have to deal with alot of things, but he did. Why indeed, he wondered

"Promise me you'll never do that to me again," She said piercing his eyes

"I promise" He meant it he never wanted to be in a coma-like that again. Though in the back of his mind he felt that wasn't his promise to give.

Shaken at the thought, he took a breath and discarded it. His mind returned to a state of peace.

" But I got so much sleep Bells, it was amazing" He chuckled.

Bella looked at him with a disapproving glare but still cracked a brief smile.

"I hate you sometimes you know that" Bella sighed.

He just shrugged, Not really knowing what to say.

At which point she hugged him.

After several awkward hello and goodbyes to numerous denizens of town charlie took them home, Though before he left the hospital Dr. Cullen told them he'd have to come in for a follow-up in the next few days, if anything seemed amiss to give him a call and rush him to the hospital no exceptions. Something charlie seemed to largely agree with to Adam's disappointment.

It was late when he got home but sleep was not something he desired at all, he truly felt exhausted he didn't feel well-rested at all from the moment he woke up, despite being in a coma, and then he had to deal with navigating some weird social situations with his classmates, all well in a hospital, with the smell of shitty food and cleaning solution accosting his nose. But after sleeping for 5 days, and having the dream he did he had no desire to meet the sandman anytime soon.

So instead he researched.

He thought back to what the woman in his dreams said. That he was in a dream, that wasn't a dream.

Because he found himself in this dream.

But what I'd he didn't dream, with that thought he began to search, for all scientific information on dreams he could find. The thing that causes us to dream was called REM sleep, unfortunately, the length of time it took to reach rem sleep from regular resting and sleeping. Was somewhat unclear in the scientific community. With estimates from 60 minutes all the way to 240. With this in mind. To be on the safe side he would set alarms to go off every 50 minutes due to him wearing at which point he would not go back to sleep until he was standing and/or walking for at least 20 minutes, at which point he would go back to bed, for another 50 minutes.

If he started "sleeping" at 8 pm he would get about 7 hours of sleep, which wasn't ideal, but he normally only got around 6 hours most nights as is. The extra hour would help equal out the difference from the. Disturbance of segmenting his sleep into essentially a bunch of power naps in succession.

He would just strategically. Remove rem sleep with this new sleeping pattern. Seemed simple enough.

At that thought, he felt a tingle in his head, not a migraine something else…

It felt like his brain was shaking in his head, as if it was his own personal earthquake, though there was no pain it simply felt odd.

Should he tell Charlie? He thought about it on the one hand he clearly has some weird thing going on with his mind and probably needed medical attention, on the other hand, charlie would likely rush him back to the hospital, which would then deem to put him in a padded room, or possibly worse if what he saw and had was more than just his mind and was truly scientific… well science would never allow him to leave if they even got an inkling about what was going on. He could not trust his dad with this. No matter how well-meaning he may be

With that thought he felt he was sitting for far too long, and got up, checking his cellphone. Dialing Jacob, He would sneak out to the rez tonight it was decided. He needed some simpler times in his as the phone rung. As it rang he glanced out the window the moon stared back as if mocking him.
