Chapter 18 everybody! Please REVIEW! Hope you enjoy!

Sarah refused to open her eyes, laying down comfortably on her bed with her head resting on Kai's chest. That was definitely the best night of her life she thought to herself, smiling as she hugged Kai's muscular arm. Sarah cuddled up to Kai, knowing he was still asleep. It was too early to get out of bed just yet. Suddenly, a horrible realization came to Sarah. She pushed herself up, waking up Kai, who groaned in annoyance, attempting to locate Sarah with his eyes closed. Sarah grabbed her phone quickly, turning it on to see the time. Her heart dropped when she read the numbers on her lock screen

7:28 AM

"Oh my god Kai, get up! We have to go!" Sarah cried out panicking.

Kai brought Sarah against his body lazily, kissing her on the lips softly.

"It's so early, beautiful, why can't we just sleep here a little while longer?" Kai complained.

Sarah fought an internal battle inside her head. While she would LOVE to stay in bed with the spectacular teenager next to her, they also were REQUIRED to be at this meeting for Cynthia. Which, they were already late to. Besides, Kai didn't even know that they were late to the meeting. It definitely escaped his head.

"Kai, we're late to Cynthia's scheduled meeting! It started thirty minutes ago! Lets go!" Sarah said loudly, pushing herself out of bed. Kai's eyes widened in realization, before copying Sarah. Kai was only wearing his boxers without a shirt, while Sarah only had her undergarments on. The two changed into fresh clothes quickly, sprinting around the suite. After a few minutes, the duo was ready to leave. They were at least slightly presentable. While Sarah wore semi decent clothes, Kai was dressed lazily in a black hoodie he picked up from the floor, along with some worn down pants. They left together, sprinting to the meeting room. Sarah walked in first, ignoring the looks of everybody while she walked to her seat quickly, apologizing to Cynthia. Kai walked into the debriefing room a few seconds later. Kai was not as nervous as Sarah was, smiling as he entered. He analyzed the room completely, looking at everyone's reactions. Silas stared at Kai blankly as he walked in. His facial expression remained completely neutral.

"Ok, that doesn't help me get a vibe of the situation in the slightest." Kai thought to himself. Kai then looked at May. May made eye contact with Kai for a moment. If he had to describe how she looked at him, he would easily say "disappointed." Why the hell was May disappointed in him? She knew he was sometimes late to debriefings and meetings; it wasn't a new thing with him. Besides, May had never cared when he was late. Why was she treating it differently this time? Kai shook off his thoughts, now glancing at Seiya.

Seiya was grinning widely, wearing his clear glasses. Seiya lifted up his hands, giving Kai a double thumbs up. It appeared almost like a "good job". Or, "congratulations". Kai's heart dropped when seeing this, immediately knowing why the sixteen year old was doing this.

"Holy shit, they know. They know we slept together." Kai thought to himself, his eyes widening in shock. Damn, this was bad. Well, at least Cynthia didn't know. There was no way she did. She didn't even sleep in their suite. Finally, Kai looked over at Cynthia.

Cynthia stood with her arms crossed, her lips tightened in frustration. Kai thought the older woman was going to let him off the hook. That was, until he heard her speak.

"So Kai… Would you mind explaining why you and Sarah happened to be late to the debriefing? By forty minutes?" Cynthia asked with a fake tone of content, with a fake smile on her face.

"I am SO sorry about that Cynthia! You wouldn't believe it! Sarah had her purse snatched by a burglar and we had to chase after him." Kai told the blonde casually. The whole group face palmed at this, not believing that this would be Kai's excuse for being late. If Cynthia truly believed this excuse, her title as Sinnoh Champion should be revoked. Cynthia only wore a fake smile at this.

"I am so sorry to hear that you two. How about after debriefing ends, you two stick around with me so we can talk privately?"

"Don't worry Cynthia, that won't be necessary." Kai told Cynthia, hoping she would leave it alone. However, she had no plans of doing that.

"I insist." Cynthia growled out forcefully, her kind smile disappearing. It was Sarah this time who responded.

"Of course Cynthia. We'll stay after as long as you want." Sarah said, not wanting to anger the Champion furthur. Kai took a seat in his chair, between Sarah and Seiya. The Kanto born trainer leaned back into his seat, now looking at Cynthia in boredom. Cynthia glared at Sarah and Kai for a moment, before continuing.

"Now, I'll be able to speak about my suspicions, since Sarah and Kai were so kind to join us. Obviously, the Snowpoint Mission collapsed completely. While it wasn't a total failure since Chaos wasn't able to retrieve the second piece of Death's Crown, we also weren't able to complete our main objective, capture Special Agent Nine. At first, I believed that the intel we received about Nine's arrival by herself was just incorrect. However, I did some research." Cynthia stated, now pacing around the room.

"The members of Project Giratina who had been working on this specific mission had boatloads of proof that Nine would be arriving alone. This proof was in the form of either hacked phone calls between Chaos, sightings of the woman alone, along with a hacked hard drive containing the exact plan that Chaos tended to employ when breaking into Snowpoint Museum. I now refuse to believe that our intel was "misled". I strongly believe that there is a mole present in HQ." Cynthia finished, informing the group of her suspicions. The group was shocked at her words, remaining quiet.

"I'm assuming that your suspicions are confidential and will remain inside this room." Seiya stated.

"Correct. Until we are able to identify the mole, it will be a small group of trusted members and myself, assigning you missions that will not be discussed outside this room. No matter the circumstances." Cynthia answered.

Cynthia continued to speak on the issue for a few more minutes, before she dismissed the group. Kai and Sarah got up from their seats ready to leave, hoping Cynthia would have forgotten about them.

"Don't think I forgot about you two. Take a seat". The two teenagers sighed as they sat back down into their chairs facing Cynthia. May, Silas, and Seiya left the room, thanking Cynthia on their way out. When the group left, Cynthia looked towards Kai and Sarah.

"Alright you two. Why were you late?" The two didn't respond, with Kai stroking his chin while Sarah looked at the floor, blushing furiously. Cynthia raised her eyebrow looking at Sarah, her expression giving away the truth. Kai noticed this, putting his hands onto his face while sighing.

"Oh, wow." Cynthia muttered, still looking at the girl.

"Nice job Sarah. You completely gave it away." Kai told the girl. Sarah shook her head, quietly telling the boy beside her to "shut up".

"Alright you two. I can't stop you both from doing whatever you do together.. You are both adults at this point and what you choose to do with each other is not my business. However, it will become my business if "whatever this is", Cynthia told the duo, her hands motioning at them, before continuing, "begins to affect the team."

They both listened to the older woman, not responding. Cynthia continued with her speech.

"Also don't be late. Especially because of this." Cynthia stated, shaking her head. She dismissed the two, fortunately without a punishment for being late. They thanked Cynthia before quickly leaving the room, not wanting things to be even more awkward than they already were.

The group sat on two couches in the living room, chatting after Cynthia's debrief thirty minutes ago.

"I can't believe you two slept together. Even Cynthia knew too!" Silas said, laughing uncontrollably. Sarah was confused, looking at the younger teenager.

"Wait, how did you guys even know? Did you hear us?!" Sarah asked, afraid to know the answer.

"Thankfully, no. May walked into your room to wake you for the meeting. Imagine her face when she saw you two passed out together, both of you pressed closely." Seiya said, still laughing after he spoke. May sat crossing her arms, not smiling in the slightest. The group's attention shifted towards Silas once he started speaking.

"I heard.." Silas stated casually. May and Seiya's eyes opened wide at this. The group remained quiet at this, Sarah's face paled at this.

"Jesus Christ." Kai muttered, scratching the top of his head. Kai gleaned over to May, noticing she appeared upset.

"Why are you upset?" Kai asked the brown haired girl.

"I'm not upset." May responded, her eyes narrowing.

"May, I'd be blind if I didn't see how you've looked pissed this whole time. Are you upset that Sarah and I slept together?" Kai asked the girl, disbelieving. Sarah now looked at May, interested in what she had to say.

"I just think it is super unprofessional for you two. I mean, seriously. We're a team now. We shouldn't be hooking up with each other just cause we feel like it." May exclaimed, sounding a little too emotional for her not to be upset with the two. Sarah was about to respond to May, before she was interrupted.

"As funny as this was, I'm going to go train my Pokemon for a bit." Seiya stated, getting up from the couch. Silas agreed with the boy, following him to the exit.

"Wow this is going to be awkward." Kai thought to himself, seeing that it would just be Sarah, May, and himself in the living room. Kai and Sarah looked at May, realizing that it became awkward without the other two boys. Seeing the two trainers staring at her, May glared at them, before groaning in anger.

"I'm going to train my Pokemon as well." May said, completely pissed off. The two waited until May completely left the suite before speaking. After May left, the two trainers stood up from the couch.

"God that was embarrassing." Sarah said, sighing after.

"Could have been worse." Besides, last night wasn't so bad." Kai replied, hugging the girl behind. Sarah smiled, her hands holding onto Kai's arms.

"What were you going to tell me last night?" Kai questioned, releasing his arms from her. Sarah turned to face Kai, her face looking more serious.

"I wanted to apologize. I was a complete asshole, for no reason. You saved my life and risked your own to make sure I got out of the Museum. After all of this, I treated you like shit. Silas helped me realize why I was being this way. After he did, I realized how misplaced my emotions and actions towards you were. I'm so sorry Kai. I hope you can forgive me." Sarah said sadly, praying to be forgiven.

Kai didn't respond, instead pulling the girl into a friendly hug. His arms wrapped around her neck, with hers wrapping around Kai's waist. The two stayed in that embrace for a while, knowing that their friendship was intact.

Meanwhile, inside the HQ base, a young man was inside his dark office. He had made quite the impression on the Project's committee and Cynthia herself, earning himself not only a unique position but also his own office. The man had a tan skin complexion, with dark, long, curly hair brushed to the sides (Like bangs, not covering the front of his face). The man wore a gray V neck shirt, along with casual black pants. The only light coming from the room was from his cellphone, shining light on his face, also reflected back due to the glasses he wore.

The man stared at the phone, waiting for something to happen. Finally, the phone rang. Quickly, he answered the call, pressing it against his ear.

"Give me an update Harley." A deep voice said on the call.

"Project Giratina has yet to assign Kai and their group to another mission. They likely won't until some time passes. I believe that they suspect their to be a spy, due to how miserably executed Mission Snowpoint was. I've been able to research more about the group's members. I have uncovered several weaknesses about Kai, both personally and physically. I still don't know much about the other four but it's clear that they have many weaknesses of their own, much more than Kai does. I've sent all their data logs regarding the information they have on Chaos. I'll continue to discover more about the group and other important and relevant information." Harley finished, waiting for the boss to respond.

"Good work Harley. Keep me updated"

"Of course Boss." Harley replied, the call ending a second after.

Harley shut off his phone, walking to exit his room to continue working. Underneath the gray shirt Harley wore was a necklace. The necklace was extremely small, hidden under his shirt. It was a golden necklace, with Giratina's full figure hanging at the bottom of it.
