Two Worlds, Two Souls
Chapter 85: A Historical Date
Angel's Point of View:
It took me at least three days of recovering to come back from using too much of my magic.
I could only hope that the scientists had gathered plenty of research from me while I spent some time recovering.
We tried to keep the younger ones unaware of what had happened. As far as they were aware, I had a long day of boring testing that left me irritated and tired. Maria had been told what really happened under the guise that she wouldn't tell the kids.
Sans had made sure I would get plenty of sleep that night by placing me in his room, after he made sure it was spick and span of course. Granted, it was also his way of being able to check on me whenever he wanted when he "went to get something" while the others were awake. He joined me in bed once all the others had gone to sleep.
I always slept better with someone beside me, and once Sans and I had proclaimed our love for one another, it became even easier. I didn't know what was the reason, but I felt… so much more at ease then before. I was able to sleep a bit deeper. It was… really nice…
"Hey Sis! You look a lot better!" My sister commented from where she was getting her things together at the bottom of the stairs.
"Thank you, I think I finally slept enough to make me feel better after those stupid tests." I sighed and ruffled her hair, what had grown out a bit anyway after her mission, even as she pouted at me. "You going to Sophia's?"
"Yeah! MK and I are heading over there for a huge weekend study session before finals for the year! I know we still have a month for them, but all the projects and crap that's being thrown our way, we need all the help we can get. And Jay is totally the best when it comes to that stuff. And we convinced Simon to come over for one of the days to help us prepare! He's gonna test us in return for a home cooked meal for him and his roommate!"
"Well that's not too bad of a deal." I giggled at her while MK raced down the stairs.
"Hey Angel!"
"Good afternoon MK. You two ready to head out?"
"Yeah!" The yellow lizard male grinned eagerly. "Papyrus is gonna lead us over there before he heads to Undyne's!"
I raised my eye brows. "Oh really now?"
"My apologies, Angel." Papyrus quickly said before he brought out a bag himself. "Undyne had invited me to spend time with her this weekend since Alphys would be busy and unavailable for their anime weekend. I will be hanging out with her and training, like always!"
"Okay…" I tried to hid my giggle behind my hand. "And Maria? Where is she?"
"Oh!" MK was the one to answer. "Mom's with Will. Apparently, he's going into the next phase of his recovery and he requested she be there to see his progress. She's going to be gone for about a week and told me to listen to you in her place."
"I see." Putting on a pout, I turned back to Frisk. "So, I'm home alone this weekend?"
"Please, like you'll be alone with a guy like Sans around." My sister only rolled her eyes at me. "Maybe you can finally tell him you like him and or kiss him?"
I felt my arms cross before my chest at the comment. "Didn't you have somewhere to be?"
Frisk snickered at me along with MK. "See ya Sis!"
"Bye Angel!"
"We shall be back in a few days' time!" Papyrus waved quickly before rushing out the door himself. "Have a splendid weakened!"
"Thank you! You as well!" With wave of my hand, they were out the door. A quietness came over the house the second the door shut and I could no longer hear their muffled talking from outside. It was always strange to have a house all to myself.
"So, the baby bones are finally gone?"
I was not surprise as Sans appeared behind me. With not a single soul in the house, his arms wrapped around my waist and his skull fell onto my shoulder. Curling into the warmth of my body, we held each other there in the living room.
"Seems like we have the entire weekend to ourselves. And even I don't have to go into the lab." Lacing my fingers with his own, I let my head gently rest against his own. "Did you do something about this?"
"Maybe."
"Alright then, Mr. Gaster. What's your plan for this weekend? You must have something up your sleeve to manage to convince or create a scenario where all other parties in the house can leave for a few days in a row."
"Well…" Sans of course had to pause for dramatic effect. "You and me… I was thinkin' we could go on a date."
"A date?" I was actually surprised by the words. I couldn't help but turn in his arms to face him. "While I don't mind, I thought we wanted to see how long it would be for people to figure it out?"
I was surprised to see some hesitation in his eye lights while he rubbed the back of his head. "Well… let's say I blabbed ta just… two people, who were kind enough ta let me buy out their restaurant for the evenin' for us ta enjoy."
The gasp came out of me so fast. "You don't mean-?!"
Sans chuckled before he pulled me in for a deep kiss. The suddenness of it caught me off guard, but I fell into it within a moment. Such a warmth spread over me and a spark for more began to grow.
"Now, before we get too riled up…" Sans panted as he pulled back from me, his grip on me tight while I clung to him. "Let me take a quick shower and then the bathroom's all yers ta get all pretty. I think there might be somethin' nice on yer bed ta wear tonight."
The butterflies grew in my stomach from how much he planned out. That night was going to be fun. "Who do I have the pleasure of thanking for helping you pick out a dress for me? Or are you really a fashionista in disguise?"
"Sara."
"Okay." Giving him one more passionate kiss, I forced myself to pull away from his magnetic hold. My fingers trailed down his arm, holding his hand in mine before pulling away entirely. "I'll go hide away in my room. Just give me a holler when you're done."
"Sure thin' Precious." Sans took a couple steps back from me, his eye glowing blue. "Oh, and if ya need any help, just give her a call. Sara wanted ta offer any help if ya need it."
"I think I will. Thank you, Sans."
My boyfriend- god I had to take a moment to internally squeal at the term. My boyfriend gave me a salute before teleporting away. The second that he did and I heard the shower kick on did I rush upstairs. Inside my room that I shoved open, I noticed the beautiful burgundy dress that sat upon my bed. Laid out softly, the material was basic, but so very beautiful to anything that I'd wore in all my life.
I struggled so terribly to hold back a squeal. I felt like a lovesick school girl.
Quickly I pulled out the phone and called Grillby's restaurant. The phone rang twice before I heard a click of the line.
"Hello Angel."
"Sara, thank you! Oh, my goodness, the dress is beautiful! I can't thank you enough!"
"Your welcome. Sans knew that you wouldn't want anything too flashy. I gave him a few options to look between and that was what he really thought suited you. Now, the real question, you called me for some help to get ready?"
"Yeah… I can get all cleaned up and put on the dress… but I haven't gotten dolled up in years." That was the part I was pretty nervous about. "In all honesty… I haven't played with make up or worn it since I was… twelve? Maybe? And I have no idea what to do with my hair, other than I think I'd like to have it down and out of a braid for once."
"Not a problem. I'll be over shortly to help. Go ahead and leave the front door unlocked and once you're out of the shower, I'll meet you in your bedroom to help you get ready."
"You're a life saver…"
"It's not a problem. I've been waiting for that idiot of a skeleton to make a move on you for two years or for you to do the same. It's the least I can do now that he finally has someone he cares about." I could hear her moving things in the background. "I'll be by shortly."
Later that Evening:
"Oh my God, is it even possible to be as nervous as I am right now?"
It was an hour or so later when Sara had told me that she was done with my look and I was checking over myself in the large floor length mirror that was on the back wall. I hadn't dressed as I had in… years.
The cloth on me Sara had called a "burgundy off shoulder mermaid dress". Its color was stunning. It hugged my body tightly until just past my upper thighs before yards of fabric were loosened and spread, perhaps for the ability to move or dance? It was still very pretty, and one of my favorite colors too.
My hair had been released from the clutches of the braid I always put it in and allowed to be loose. My curls fell over my shoulders and covered part of my exposed back. I could feel it tickle the skin. Sara had kindly curled it to give my locks some more bounce and added an oil of some kind that smelled lovely as well as gave it a shine. You could see the varieties of colors in it. How some strands were much darker like a black, and others where they were a honey blond. But they all were apart of the chocolate waves that lived on my scalp.
Finally, she added some make up on me. Sara was kind enough to not add much. But she did something around my eyes and a bit on my face. I couldn't remember all the terms she used, and I was very unlikely to use make up again in the next few years without help. But my eyes popped with whatever she did. My lips looked plump and matched the color of my dress.
I couldn't believe the beauty standing before me in the mirror. Was that really me? Was I really that beautiful?
But most of all, was I good enough for the guy who gave me everything?
"You look stunning. There's nothing to be nervous about." Sara was careful to come forward and place her hands on my bare shoulders, not wanting to mess up anything she'd done. "Remember that this is Sans were talking about here. He loves you no matter what."
"I-I know…" I sighed and tried to gather my nerves. "Okay… I'm as ready as I'll ever be."
"Good." Sara hugged me softly. "You have fun tonight. I'll see you shortly at the restaurant. Knock him dead."
And with that she opened the door and peaked her head out.
"Okay Sans, she's just about ready and… oh my goodness! You're dressed up?!"
"Gotta look good for m'girl."
I could hear her whistle. "Angel! You are damn lucky I'm already married! Damn you both look good!"
And of course that peaked my interest just as I heard the front door close. Carefully I pushed past the door that had been left cracked open to my room just in time to look over the railing to the first floor to see my partner for the night.
"Holy shit…"
I couldn't help but giggle at his words, but seeing him stopped me dead in my tracts. Sans actually dressed up. I couldn't believe it as I saw him down below. An outfit of all black caught my attention. Dress pants, dress shoes, a dress shirt buttoned up all the way to the top with a single red tie that was the same color as my dress.
Was it really bad that I wanted to do nothing more but grab that tie and yank him to me? Kiss him senseless? I had to hold myself back from drooling at how good he looked.
"You clean up well." I tried to keep my composure as I slowly descended the stairs, carefully to not let the simple shoes I was wearing step on the stunning fabric I wore. One hand on the railing while another held some of the dress a little bit more off the floor. Once I made it, hands were all over me in a heartbeat.
"Damn… I gotta check the tag Sara said was on this thin'. I think she forgot ta mention it was made in heaven."
And just like that I burst into laughing. I tried to hold it behind my hand, but there was no saving myself. I struggled to look at the ceiling so I wouldn't cry and ruin all the hard work Sara put in.
"You flirt!" I lightly hit his arm before giving him swift kiss.
"Ya ready ta go?"
"Of course."
"Kay, then." He held out an arm for me to take. "Let's take a shortcut."
Within moments we landed into the dining room of Grillby's establishment. Though unlike the normally bustling area, it was quiet. Save for some soft music that played in the background. I was stunned when I saw the normally placed tables had been removed from the main area. All that remained was a single table in the center, coated with a decorative white cloth, a set of candles burning, and a large bouquet of flowers that were gathered at the end of the table.
"Oh my God…"
"Ya like it, Precious?"
I raced to turn and face him, my boyfriend who was always so quietly thoughtful, even if he appeared not to be. Hand still held in his own, I gave it a squeeze. "It's stunning… thank you, Darling."
"C'mon, I'll get ya seated."
Carefully walking me over to the table, Sans assisted me with seating first before he sat down himself across from us. Everything was so new a beautiful, I couldn't help but look around in awe.
"This is amazing Sans... thank you…"
Sans chuckled softly. "Precious, we haven't even started much yet."
"Still, the thought that went into it is much more then what I was expecting." I gave him a nervous giggle. "But I suppose that's because I'm okay with just about anything."
"Welp, once the cat's outta the bag, I'll take ya one more." Sans squeezed the hand of mine he held. "Ya deserve a hella lot more than I've given ya."
"We both do, so let's just enjoy it."
Later That Evening:
The dinner was amazing as we sat together at the table. Puns flew into the air, light hearted comments passed our mouths as we enjoyed the evening.
Yet, there was a nagging feeling in the back of my skull for the one last little secret that I was holding back from him. My real name. My association to the people who trapped him in the underground.
Thinking about it much later on, it was more then likely that Sans wouldn't even bat an eye light when I told him. But I still held that small fearful lump that I couldn't swallow at the back of my mind.
As the evening went on, I knew I had to tell him. I wanted there to be no more secrets between us. I wanted to be one hundred percent open with him. And that was the last thing that I could think of that hindered that goal.
"Precious?" Of course, Sans was able to pick up on the way I was feeling, regardless of the face I could give him. He was good at reading me, and perhaps… he knew me a bit too well in my mannerisms. "What is it? Somethin' wrong?"
"It's probably nothing, but it means something to me." With a careful breath, I squeezed his hand tightly. "Knowing how our past reactions over similar subjects have always gone, I have a feeling that you won't mind, or care. But it still worries me, it still guilts me… my real last name."
His eye lights narrowed. "Ya told me it was the same name as yer uncle. Ya didn't want to remember it when we started usin' it around the underground."
"While true… it wasn't the only reason."
Sans sighed. "Angel, just tell me."
"My real last name… is Terians."
Sans looked at me, I'm sure he didn't pick up on what that last name meant. Not at least for the first five seconds. The he sighed. He brought my hand to his teeth, pressing the palm to it them. He let his skull settle into the warmth.
"Yer part of the family that trapped us down here. That's why ya hid it with ya mother's name."
"Yes… it was my great-grandfather…"
"Angel, ya know I don't care." The skeleton held my hand more tightly. "How many times do I gotta tell ya not to let other humans' mistakes be yers? None of what happened in the past is yer fault. Never will be."
A shaky breath escaped me as the final bits of fear ebbed away from my heart. "I know… I'm sorry… I just wanted to get that final secret of mine out of the way. With us… I didn't want to lie to you about that, as regardless of how small or large as it is. Now… I have no more secrets of weights holding me back."
"Good." Sans let the irritations move away from his skill as he stood up from the table, our meal long over. "Dance with me?"
"You want to?" I was surprised by the request.
"Don't think ya know this, but I'd do just 'bout anythin' for ya."
"No, I think I do know." Carefully taking his hand, I let him lead me to the vacant floor. "You've been by me for a couple years now. I would've thought that you'd leave if you didn't care."
"Heh. Glad ta see ya got that." He held me tightly to him as we swayed to the beat of the music. "So… we got all weekend ta show each other that since the baby bones are gone."
I pouted and hit his shoulder. "You flirt! Couldn't you wait until we get home?"
He raised a boney eye brow. "Is that a yes?"
Showing him a deadpan look, I then rolled my eyes. "I'd like to enjoy the rest of this date before I can't move the rest of the weekend."
Witch's Note:
*Squeal!* Oh I've been wanting to post this for so long! I hope you all enjoyed the little date of theirs and the moments between them! Sans managed to get all parties out of the house so that they could have a lovely first-time date and then a weekend to do… Ehm…
Things…
But I can't believe how closer we're coming to the end of this story! Its actually almost killing me and Mystic Girl over here! I'm glad we have two more stories to continue these chats with you all and our shenanigans. I don't think we'd survive without them!
(In the background while I'm racing to type this, I can see Mystic Girl out of the corner of my eye. She's on the large bed of mine behind me with the knives still being hurled into the air as she has mastered that skill while somehow holding onto a pillowcase between her teeth and attempting to hide her crying. Loud sobs can be heard from behind the material.)
Me: You have way too much time on your hands!
Mystic Girl: (She releases the pillow from her hold and I see her crying face.) I don't want this to end Halloween!
Me: Well of course not, but we still have two stories you know.
Mystic Girl: But this one is the first! Its special!
Me: And so is the second one with all the shit we have planned? Don't you remember some of the cool stuff you helped me out with in the beginning of the second story when we were brainstorming? Come on, you practically wrote the first third of the story all by yourself with the shit we put Frisk through.
(And that caused the woman to pause. The knives all flew into a table beside her when she didn't actively reach to catching them. I sucked in a breath, not sure if those had been the true words that would reach her. However, I saw a devious, hunting smile appear on her face and I was fairly certain that I had been… right.)
Mystic Girl: I can't wait for book two…
Anyway, let's move onto reviews!
Shadow Phantom: I know Shadow, and that's kinda why I portrayed it that way. Angel still has her moments, and probably didn't understand the instructions the best since they told her to go all out. And she was quite against it. Hopefully it doesn't happen again…
Or will it? After all, there is still a murderous flower out there…
Commander: I'm glad you liked the whole Frisk getting back to school moments and time spent with her friends. I felt it was best to give a bit more of the school related stuff. And as I've mentioned before, we're get a bit more of that stuff in the second book too! Promise!
But as to your question… (I point over to the crazy lady with the demonic look who was just sobbing moments ago…) You really want to give her candy?
Mystic Girl: Yes please! Candy please!
Halloween Witch: Oh God, here we go…
Thechaosmaster: I'm so glad you're loving these moments! Sorry, I couldn't resist teasing you. I'm a bleeding-heart romantic myself, so I'm really hoping you loved this chapter. Especially since I had to be so careful about where they could go on an actual date where they wouldn't be found out.
And yes, I total did a Rock Lee vs. Garra move there, couldn't help myself when I envisioned how the fight would go and it took me back to when I was a young tween watching some of the earliest episodes of Naruto a hell of a long time ago! Haha!
But yes, that power is scary that Angel has under her belt, so something to use very carefully. Hopefully she doesn't have to, but who knows with that dangerous flower out there?
We'll have to be careful, won't we?
Alright, that's it for this time around. Oh goodness everyone! We're down to the last seven chapters! I can't believe we're getting so close!
And before I forget, I'm hoping this won't affect you all, but my medical condition has unfortunately gotten worse so I have surgery coming in the last week of August. I hope it won't affect anything, but did want to warn you guys in case something does happen. That means that during our special side story chapter postings is when that may affect what's going on.
But regardless, love you all and see you next week!
