Finally, I managed to actually update on a saturday! I hope you like this chapter. I thought it was time to bring some roschel friendship into this story :P

Monica sat at her usual seat near the cafeteria window, with her lunch in front of her. But instead of starting to eat, she just placed the tray in front of her. She still had to wait for Rachel and her brother, who weren't there yet.

Since she and Rachel started to hang out more again, her brother had been joining them for lunch too often. It wasn't that she didn't like his company, but sometimes she wanted to have normal - and private, conversations with her best friend. So, one of the times he had been tagging himself along, they had made a pact that they would have lunch together once a week, as suggested by Rachel.

They agreed to have lunch together on Thursdays, and so here she was waiting for them. Since the past week, Ross seemed a little more cheerful than usual, and when Monica asked him about it, he told her about his new friend, Chandler, who was a new student who didn't fit in much either. They hit it off right away and became friends quite fast.

Monica was happy that her brother was finally getting over the rumour thing. She still had no idea who started it, but she had felt bad for her brother while it lasted. Although she would not admit it to him, Monica felt glad that Ross had someone to cheer him up, so she had invited Chandler to have lunch with them too so she could meet his brother's new friend.

She looked through the glass, wondering if she should give up waiting for her friends and just start eating. But just as she was about to grab the fork, her brother finally showed up. Next to him stood a tall blonde-haired guy, whom Monica couldn't remember seeing, so she assumed it was Chandler. She tried to eye him only the necessary amount of time, which was a difficult task because he was kinda cute.

"Hey, Mon!" Ross greeted her, pulling a chair to sit. "This is Chandler." He said, pointing to his friend.

"Hey! I'm Monica. Ross's sister." Monica introduced herself, her voice shakier than she intended it to be.

"Nice to meet you," Chandler answered, sitting in the chair in front of her. Monica smiled at his response. She was used to people eyeing her and commenting on her weight as soon as she met them, but Chandler didn't do either; he just greeted her as he would probably do with any other person.

"So, where is the famous "she's so pretty" Rachel? I want to see for myself if she is really that cute," Chandler stated. "Besides, I'm starving here," He added while putting the tray with his lunch on the table.

"Wait, you told him already about it?!" Monica asked Ross, understanding what Chandler had meant.

"Wait, you sister knows?!" Chandler interrupted.

"I didn't exactly tell her..." Ross started.

Where was Rachel? Monica really didn't want to be part of that conversation. For some miracle, Monica looked away, and at that moment, she spotted a familiar face walking toward her.

"Hey! Will!" She waved at her friend, who stood a few meters away.

Will walked a few steps in their direction. Then, he looked at everyone at the table.

"Hey, Monica. Hey, Ross. Hey, Ross's friend". He said. "Can I sit here?" Will added, pointing to the empty seat that was being saved for Rachel.

"Sorry, it's already taken; maybe you could join us another time," Monica answered.

"It's okay. I will look for somewhere else to sit," Will said, walking away from them.

"You know each other?" Monica asked after realizing that Will had talked to the boys too.

Chandler looked at Ross, then at Monica with a suddenly confused expression.

"So, Ross told me that Rachel is your best friend, right?" He asked.

"Yes..."

"So, the question is: how is he friends with you?!" It was Monica's turn to get confused.

"You know; the whole "I hate Rachel" thing. I assumed he wouldn't be friends with Rachel's best friend," Chandler explained.

Monica had no clue what he was talking about, and Chandler understood it by her expression.

"That you don't tell your sister..." Chandler commented with a sarcastic tone directed to Ross.

Monica looked at her brother, realizing that she was missing part of some story. She could see him getting awkward, looking everywhere except at her.

"That guy hates Rachel for some mysterious reason, and because of a misunderstanding, he thinks your brother hates her too. For another mysterious reason, Ross didn't make it clear that he didn't hate her, and now they found the "I hate Rachel Green" club," Chandler explained when Ross didn't speak.

"You what?!" Monica exclaimed, not knowing what to say about the whole story. Of everything she expected to hear, that was not one of them. She would have to talk to Ross about it later.

"It is really no big deal... Just forget it, Mon," Ross said after a second.

Monica was about to insist on the subject when FINALLY Rachel appeared at her side. It was about time. How did that girl manage to take so long in the bathroom?

"Ahh, speaking of the devil...," Chandler said with a slight chuckle.

"Hey Mon, I know this will be weird, but I need to tell you something," Rachel interrupted Monica out of her thoughts. The rest of the day went by, and both girls were hanging out in Rachel's room.

Monica lifted her head from her History book, waiting for Rachel to talk.

"Please, don't tell him I said that, but now that we've been hanging around with Ross more, I feel like he is kind of a nice guy. I mean, I never cared much about him because he was your brother - and I still think he's such a nerd, but he's not as bad as he seems," Rachel said, slightly embarrassed.

"Oh," Was Monica's first reaction. "Please don't tell me you like my weird brother," Monica pleaded, only half-joking. "Because if say you do, a whole box of thin mints might not be enough to recover from the thought."

"God, Monica! No! I'm only saying he's not a bad guy to hang out with. You know, as a friend..."

"Oh, I see. My best friend being friends with my brother. I guess." Monica paused for a second, thinking. "Don't tell him I said that, but he's really not that bad. In fact, he's been one of my only friends, and recently I feel like we've been bonding more than ever. Maybe he could hang out a bit more with us..."

Rachel smiled at Monica. Not only for her positive reaction but also for the fact that Monica and her brother were getting along so great and being there to support each other. She wished she could be like that with her sisters, instead of how they were, constantly comparing each other and trying to be better than the others.

"Sure. That would be nice. But he's got to stop hanging out with that guy, Chandler. What was with all his sarcastic jokes?"

"I know! He seemed so normal at first. I don't know if I can stand so many jokes again." Monica eye-rolled, agreeing with her friend.

"Well..., I told you I still think Ross's a nerd."
