Chapter 3 Class Trial:
Monokuma began with the same shit he said the last two times like were fuckin idiots. "Now then, to begin with..." "We already know who did it! Is what I would say if that culprit is still alive." Hina says. "Why did you bother saying it if Hiro isn't alive?" Byakuya asks. "You can't blame Hina for that though. Hiro was the only one who didn't have an alibi for when the murder took place, and he was found in the suit." Celeste adds. "Are we really going to jump into this case like that, there's something I need to ask about this trial... how are we supposed to find out who did it if two people were killed?" I asked.
"Great question... this case I'll admit is very tricky so this is what I'll say. The person who caused the first murder would be the blackened." Monokuma says. "It doesn't matter if Hiro is dead we do have evidence of him committing the first murder. The blueprints for the suit, parts we assume were used to build it, and all of those items were in his room you have to admit the evidence is quite compelling." Celeste says. "Oh come on that's bullshit!" I shouted. "You don't understand Mondo but of course we can't expect anything out of you even though you and Makoto have been to his room. He created the suit and wearing it while he committed the crime, then not wanting to face this trial he jumped into the deep end of the pool and committed suicide." Celeste says calmly.
I was getting really fuckin mad already because I can tell that Celeste was lying through her teeth and that we already discussed the cause of death and what times Hiro and Hifumi died. "Hold on Celeste, are we positive that Hiro wrote the blueprints?" Makoto asked. "What do you mean?" she asks. "Mondo do you still have the note Byakuya gave you?" Makoto asked. "Oh yeah that's right." I said. I pulled a piece of paper out of my pocket and showed it to everyone. "It's a note that Hiro wrote asking everyone to meet up in the dining hall. The only person who didn't see that letter was Mondo. The handwriting is obviously different wouldn't you say." Makoto says. "That's right and when you look at the handwriting on the blue prints the letters look completely sloppy." I said.
"So there's no way you could think the same person made both of them." Kyoko says. "Unless that person made it a point to disguise their handwriting..." Celeste argues. "No, the differences are bigger than that, I think." Sakura says. "It wouldn't make any sense to try to hide the handwriting, even though she wrote her signature Sayaka didn't try to hide her handwriting right? So there would be no reason for Hiro to try and hide his handwriting." I said, "So wait, Makoto, are you and Mondo trying to say that Hiro wasn't the culprit?" Hina asks. "There not the only ones. I think Hiro was innocent as well." Byakuya says. "Well holy shit you're actually going to side with us for once." I said.
"Ok but then who was in the Robo Justice suit?" Hina asked. "We already talked about that, there was only one suit and it didn't seem like there wasn't enough materials to make a second one. It was Hiro... yet he wasn't the one who committed the murders." I said, "Makoto, I know many people have said how great of a team you were, but how could you get an idiot such as Mondo as your partner?" Celeste asks. "How the fuck is that not smart!?" I shouted. "Actually Celeste, Mondo is right. There's nobody else I could think of that was in the Robo Justice suit aside from Hiro. As Mondo said there didn't seem to be enough materials to make a second suit, and we already established that he was the one in that particular suit." Makoto says. "Besides it would have wasted too much time to build a second suit to carry out this crazy ass plan." I added. "So that would mean Hiro still remains the prime suspect." Byakuya says.
"You just said Hiro didn't do it!" Hina shouts "It makes perfect sense, even the block head biker over there pointed it out already. Hiro was the suspicious individual in the suit, but he's not the culprit. Especially since he's already dead." Byakuya argues. "Can we at least try to stay on the same side without calling me dumbass insults!" I shouted. "So the bottom line that we came up with is that the culprit in this case had nothing to do with being in the Robo Justice suit, especially since the suit was still on Hiro when he was drowned." Byakuya says. "Now that's a bold assumption!" Genocide Jack says.
"And what reason do you have to make such a statement? At least one of you has a reason, yes?" Celeste asks. "Of course. But before we get to that... There's something we need to clarify first. So let's get that out of the way." Byakuya says. "Hey, hold it, isn't Makoto supposed to be the one leading this trial?" I asked. "He's right Makoto is the one who leads these trials, so stop bossing us around!" Hina shouts. "All things have proper order." Byakuya says. "Proper order my ass, you're just leading this thing so you can take the fuckin credit this time!" I shouted. "It's no use in arguing with him... that being said, what is it that you want us to clarify?" Sakura asks calmly. "We need to clarify why the dolly from the equipment room got to the pool, and why it had trails of blood and water mixed together. Makoto, you can tell us why." Byakuya says. "What is your deal you say you're taking charge and yet you pass things over to Makoto, what kind of stuck up asshole family did you come from?!" I shouted.
"It's ok Mondo, I can answer that... there was one thing I overlooked but remember now, aside from the dolly, there was also a blue tarp, right?" Makoto says. "Huh, a blue tarp?" I asked. "It was on top of the dolly, you probably couldn't see it because it blended in with the color of the walls. So let's see if I can explain it... when we found Hiro in the robo justice suit from within the locker in the pool area, the dolly and the blue tarp were across from the locker, and drops of blood and water mixed together near the wheels, and some of it landed on the tarp." Makoto said.
"However with the size of the costume in addition to Hiro's weight how would the culprit be able to get Hiro from the rec room to the pool? Firstly that tarp is the same one from the equipment room. So while Hiro was still unconscious in the suit the culprit thought of using it to help carry Hiro. That part was to make sure that there would be no bloodstains while moving it." He continued. "But we found some blood stains on the tarp mixed with drops of blood right?" I asked. "Before we get to Mondo's question I'm still confused about the dolly, what was it used for?" Sakura asked. "It was the same thing as the tarp since Mondo and I found both the tarp and the dolly in the pool area. It was likely that along with the tarp the culprit used the dolly to help transport Hiro to the pool. Of course we can further prove this because we saw a dolly in the equipment room when we came the first time, and when we went to tell you what happened to Hifumi the dolly was gone." Makoto said. "As he said we found both the dolly and the tarp when we got to the pool and found Hiro's body in the robo justice suit." I said.
"So in other words, you think they used the dolly to move the body, am I right? But are you sure you are not mistaken?" Celeste asked. "Huh?" Makoto asked. I had to butt in to help Makoto because I was getting tired of Celeste butting in and taking charge. "Hell yes that's what happened. Besides if the culprit just used the dolly to move Hiro's body he'd probably fall down and wake Hiro up from pain. So the culprit probably used the tarp to roll him up to try and soften the fall if by some chance Hiro fell off the dolly." I said. "You gotta admit Celeste, Mondo does make a pretty good argument, if the blood stains didn't show up on the tarp after Hiro was already killed then it would make sense why both items were in the pool." Hina adds.
Celeste just ponders her finger. "It may be a decent argument but are you sure the dolly was in the equipment room? It doesn't matter if it was in the pool area, the dolly was only designed for moving large objects between the repository and the art room. Since there is no elevator in the school aside from the one on the first floor then it would be impossible to discover it went from the equipment room to the pool. And you simply didn't realize it?" She asks. Once again Celeste starts to derail arguments and take control of this situation. "She raised an objection? How do you respond?" Byakuya asks.
"You stay out of this; we didn't ask for your opinion. As for your question, I sure as hell raise an objection to her objection!" I yelled. "There is no shame in being wrong. Nobody expected much from either of you anyways. We have all accepted the fact that you rarely understand what is going on around you... like I said Makoto it is unfortunate that you have chosen such an idiot to be your partner." Celeste said with a grin on her face. "The fuck did you say, bitch?! If you two are done pelting Makoto with questions why don't you go and make out already!" I yelled. "I got this Mondo." Makoto said calmly.
Makoto began to make his arguments while Celeste kept a calm as hell poker face continuing to say he's a fool, he's wrong this and that until finally Makoto spoke. "If you're asking for proof that the dolly moved, I have it right here... not only the drops of blood and water on dolly... but also Justice Hammer 4 that was originally in the equipment room, but later we found it in the repository." Makoto says.
"As we discovered Hiro would have woken up by some chance while he was in the water, so the culprit brought Justice Hammer 4 which was never used before this point to the pool area to knock Hiro out so the culprit could drown him. After that the culprit brought the hammer back to the equipment room briefly to wash off the pool water, but little did they know that some of the drops of blood and water landed on the trail to where the dolly was moved. So that's my proof on how the Dolly was moved." Makoto finished. Celeste just sighed and looked away. "Well, anyway. That was just something we had to get out of the way. Let's get back to the main subject..." Byakuya says. "Yeah! The subject of how Robo Justice didn't do it! Cuz if it's not the killer robot, then... What kind of robot is it?" Hina adds.
All I could do was facepalm at that moment. "But we already discussed Hiro was drowned in the same costume when he died ya goddamn idiots." I said, "Language aside I agree with Mondo, it doesn't seem to really matter." Sakura says. "Of course I wouldn't expect the blockhead coddler to get it. So I'd be happy to explain why the occupant of the suit couldn't possibly be the culprit. If you look back on how the body was transported, it will become immediately obvious." Byakuya says.
"You smug bastard how long are we just going to rehash shit we already talked about?!" I asked. "Well we won't know until all of us know for sure Mondo, you're right in that it's likely the culprit simply rolled the body in the tarp but without a handle you have to bend over" "Wait Hina, you're absolutely right you could push a dolly without a handle if you stoop down low, but if you were wearing the suit do you think you could actually get into a position like that?" Makoto asks. "What do you mean?" Hina asks. I had no idea what to say. I know Hina is the type of girl that has difficult memories but even I know why Hiro couldn't have done it. Makoto told her to think back when we took the suit off after we discovered Hiro's body.
"For one thing Hiro was still wearing the suit when we found him dead, and when you tested the suit not only could you not see your feet, but you can't even bend at the waist." Makoto said. "Plus we already mentioned Hiro had the suit on when he died right? On top of that even if he were the culprit he couldn't carry the damn thing down because of that oversight." I added. "Now that you mention it... yeah." Hina said sadly. "So it would seem hard to push that dolly if you can't bend over." Sakura adds. "Even if Hiro was in the suit and couldn't move at the waist what's to stop him from pushing the dolly with your feet?" Celeste asks.
This chick doesn't know when to give up, I was getting more and more agitated because Celeste doesn't know when to back the hell off. "Since you believe Hiro is the victim what was to stop him from kicking the dolly from a distance and riding it down the stairs?" Celeste asked again. "So are you trying to say that Hiro curled himself up in the tarp, kicked the dolly down the stairs and rode it to the pool on purpose?!" I asked. "Yeah when Pompadour dick says it, it'd be totally impossible! Not that I can say for sure myself." Genocide Jack chimes in. "On top of that, if you were wearing such a rigid, cumbersome suit...It's very unlikely you would have the dexterity to go about wrapping your body in a tarp." Byakuya adds "Well I mean, isn't that just a matter of taking the suit off when you're ready to move the body?" Genocide Jack asks.
Now instead of getting frustrated with Celeste I was getting mad at everybody because I feel like everything we were talking about is on repeat. "I don't think taking off the suit was an option. If you remember, before we discovered that Hiro was dead, Kyoko said that there was a hatch on the back, Mondo had to take the clasp off and when it opened water came flooding out and Hiro's body collapsed at Mondo's feet." Makoto replies. "That's true. It seems impossible to put on or take off the suit without help." Sakura adds. "Then... you can't really take it off by yourself? Hiro wasn't making it up?" Hina asks. "It wasn't because he didn't, rather he couldn't, we said that Hiro was already dead by the time we found him. On top of that Kyoko said that she kicked him and there wasn't a reaction while he was still wearing the suit." I said. "On top of that If he could have gotten it off by himself, I don't think he would have let us seen him wearing it. Showing up in the suit was basically an invitation for everyone to suspect him." Makoto adds.
"But he can't be a suspect if he's dead right? That would make him a victim not the culprit." I ask. "So... is it really true that Robo Justice couldn't have moved the dolly?" Hina asks. "Jesus Christ how many times have I said that impossibility, someone as weak as Hiro couldn't have done all that shit on purpose, plus he wouldn't have been able to knock himself out and drown himself it makes no sense." I responded angrily. "So Mondo are you trying to say that if Hiro who was still in the suit he didn't move the dolly, correct?" Sakura asks. "No wait, wait just a second if you please. Have you forgotten about the picture that I took?" Celeste asks.
Celeste is doing everything in her power to make this whole thing more complicated and obvious as she could possibly be. "You got a good look at the picture, did you not? The image of Hifumi being dragged away by Robo Justice? If whoever was in the suit is not the culprit, how do you explain that? Besides, do you remember what the now deceased Hifumi said..." She asks. "He said Yasuhiro, but what about it? Did you not check the Monokuma Files, it said that Hiro died at 9 AM, and Hifumi died a half an hour later? How do you explain that you fuckin loon?" I asked angrily at Celeste.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk Mondo surely you must learn to give your reasoning in a calmer manner. I mean when we found Hifumi the first time in the library he said that Robo Justice attacked him before either of them have died. So long as the facts exist, the proper conclusion is beyond question. The individual inside the suit and the culprit are one in the same. It was Hiro, without a doubt." Celeste says with an intimidating look in her eye, but I wasn't about to go down from some bitch in the box stand. "Y-yeah, that's gotta be right!" Hina adds. "Are you seriously jumping onto the bandwagon with this lyin bitch? That conclusion is complete bullshit!" I yelled.
"Hold on everyone, It's still far too early to reach that conclusion. Besides, there's no need to hurry to decide who did it. Regardless of what your opinions or thoughts are about him, Mondo brings up some legitimate points, so I think we should explore every single possibility." Kyoko says, finally stepping in. "Yeah but how the hell do we do that?" I ask. "Simple, instead of seizing on one viewpoint, the truth is uncovered by analyzing things from every angle. I think it would be better if we review this series of events from the beginning. Maybe we'll uncover something new... something that most of you are overlooking." She responds.
Finally despite some grips from Genocide Jack and Sakura everyone agreed to look over everything that happened from the beginning. Sakura began to recount what happened. "Five of us gathered at the dining hall- Makoto, Hina, Mondo, Kyoko and myself. We waited there for quite a while, but nobody else showed up. So we went to look for everyone. That was around 8 A.M." "And as soon as we split up, Kyoko went missing." Hina adds.
"The groups were divided so we could cover the whole school that we could access, Sakura went to check the dorms, Kyoko went to the 2nd floor, Makoto and I searched the 1st floor, and Hina checked the 3rd floor." I add in. "Soon after that, Hina found Celeste in the rec room and quickly came to get Makoto, Mondo and myself." Sakura continues. "It seems I was unconscious for about an hour after I was attacked by the mystery assailant. I know it was about an hour because I remember being attacked a little after 7." Celeste says.
"That was when we saw Celeste's picture and discovered that her assailant had been wearing a strange costume. As it turns out it was Robo Justice... It also soon became clear that this same Robo Justice had abducted Hifumi. We were soon joined in our search by Byakuya and Toko, then went to find Hifumi in the library. He was injured, so we took him to the nurse's office and resumed our search for the suspect. But not long after we left the nurses office..." Sakura finished, and I chimed in. "Celeste came running up the stairs right? She said she saw some freaky shadow running up the stairs saying it was Robo Justice." I said.
"When Celeste told us that, we decided to split up and search the second floor. And soon after that..." Makoto was about to finish his thought when Celeste spoke again. "I saw someone moving around the 3rd floor, and I yelled out to everyone as soon as I did." She said. "And then once we got to the third floor we heard a scream all the way from the first floor, and the scream came from Hifumi." I said. "At that point we decided to divide up into two groups. Celeste, Hina, Mondo and I went back to the nurse's office... while Sakura, Byakuya and Toko chased after the suspect. When we got back to the nurses office, we found Hifumi was attacked again... he was alive but barely." Makoto said.
"After Makoto and I picked up Hifumi and placed him on one of the beds in the nurse's office, Celeste and Hina stayed behind to wrap bandages they found in the cabinets while Makoto and I ran upstairs to explain what happened." I said. "Yeah since Hifumi was under good care, Mondo and I left Celeste and Hina to take care of him in case the assailant came back, meanwhile the two of us ran to the third floor to tell about Hifumi's condition." Makoto said. "Meanwhile throughout this ordeal various hammers laid around the rooms we found called Justice Hammers, the first one was found in the rec room where Celeste was attacked, the second hammer was in library where Hifumi got attacked the first time, the third hammer was found in the nurse's office where Hifumi was attacked again. When Makoto and Mondo arrived to tell us that Hifumi was attacked, we found a puddle of water and blood mixed in spots and a very clean and unused Justice Hammer 4 just sitting in the equipment room." Sakura says.
"After finding how Justice Hammer 4 didn't seem to be used, Mondo and I told you about Hifumi." Makoto said. "Toko fell unconscious from seeing the drops of blood, however through some stupid ass rules that Byakuya didn't bother to tell us sooner. Him, me, Sakura and Makoto went back to the nurse's office." I said. "However as soon as we left the physics lab... we ran into Celeste, who arrived after us, and she told us something very surprising." Makoto said. "She came up and told us that Robo Justice appeared again and dragged Hifumi out of the bed in the nurse's office, to somewhere in the school." I said.
"We rushed back to the nurse's office and saw that she was right, a sign that indicated this was the amount of blood that Hifumi lost that spilled onto the bed where Mondo and I placed him." Makoto said. "And then we remembered we'd left Toko passed out in the equipment room, so we hurried back again on the chance Robo Justice would kill her since by this point nobody had died yet." Sakura says.
"When we got there mostly everything was the same as we left it. The only differences were that the tarp, dolly, the previously mentioned Justice Hammer 4 were missing. Despite that we found Toko still alive though she sneezed and turned into her Genocide Jack personality." I said. "Once that happened we knew that Hifumi was still missing, so we searched the entire school for a seriously injured friend and after some time..."
"Celeste informed us that she found Hifumi, and we headed to the repository... which was where we discovered Hifumi, who was attacked again... only this time the wounds he received were fatal and thus died in the repository." Byakuya said. "After that Makoto and I searched the school for clues, and after we found the stuff in Hiro's room, Hina came to us to tell us that Kyoko and Robo Justice were found in the pool area." I said.
"However by the time we got there the Robo Justice suit lost some of its color from what seemed like being drenched in water compared to Celeste's picture, Kyoko told us that Hiro was in the suit but there was no response, Mondo went to open the hatchet behind the suit to help Hiro take off the suit, only to find out that Hiro died with the suit on from most likely being drowned in the pool. I think that about covers everything." Makoto says.
"I see... The whole thing sounds exceptionally complicated." Kyoko says. "No shit it was complicated, the whole thing just felt like a fuckin wild goose chase!" I yelled. "Regardless it certainly seems to me that these are not a simple series of connected events." Kyoko says. "Okay, well... if that's true, then what?" Makoto asks. "Rather than a single series of events. I think we have to consider each murder a separate situation. And from there, we can uncover the contradictions surrounding all of them." Kyoko replies. "So we gotta look at each murder separate but didn't Monokuma just say that the only person who is the blackened is the one who killed Hiro since he died first?" I asked.
"Yes that's true, however we should go over Hiro's case first to find evidence and prove why he was the victim and not the culprit." She replies. "Ok so we should start with Hiro first since the Monokuma File said he died about a half an hour before Hifumi." Makoto says. So without any hesitation we began to discuss Hiro's death to figure out what happened to him. "Well we seem to know already who died first, not just the time of death on the Monokuma Files, but also because of the numbering of the hammers." Hina said.
"Hold on Hina, while it could be played into account of the deaths I don't believe there's a reason to assume that the hammers were used in the same order as their numbers. Two reasons for this were the hammers were used to injure but not to kill except for the last hammer. Another reason is that the killer tried to disguise their action." Makoto said. "So what you're saying is that while the hammers were used in order only one of them was used as the murder weapon and the culprit wanted us to think that way. In that case why don't present your proof. So what kind of evidence shows that one of the hammers was ever used." Byakuya says.
Makoto thought about it and he took a deep breath and on cue a lightbulb came on his head. "I got it, it was the helmet from the Robo Justice Costume!" He says, "Oh yeah, when we investigated the pool Kyoko gave us the helmet of the costume and there was a giant ass dent on the back." I said, "And judging by the size of it only one of the justice hammers fits that size description, and that would have to be Justice Hammer 4. We can also infer from the fact that when we found Justice Hammer 4 in the repository some of the coloring and words were faded and had some drops of blood and water mixed together." Makoto says. "And those drops of blood and water were the same ones we found in the physics lab." Sakura says. "Plus the front of the hammer had cracks in it that match that cracked hole in the wall in the repository." I added.
"So that means the culprit likely used Justice Hammer 4 on Hiro while he was still in the Robo Justice Suit to keep him unconscious while he was being drowned. So if Makoto and Mondo's assumptions are correct, then that means the only hammer that was used to commit the murder was Justice Hammer 4." Kyoko says. "On top all of that the Monokuma File stated that Hiro died a half an hour before Hifumi." Makoto says. "But if that's true then he was only killed after most of this had happened." Sakura adds. "But what I don't understand is why did it take so long, and why was Hiro dead a half an hour before Hifumi?" I asked.
"Well it seems someone didn't do what the culprit wanted us to fall for. Basically the culprit wrote the numbers on the hammers to increase their size to fall for a mistake of who died first, however since someone here is still alive that part of the culprits planned backfired which is why Hiro and Hifumi's time of deaths were different." Byakuya says. "Even if that is true that means everyone's alibi's from before Hiro's murder is still strong." Kyoko says. "It doesn't help either that all of us were running around the school when this happened, and everybody saw each other before and after we went to the pool to find Hiro's body in the Robo Justice suit. It doesn't help either that our alibi's hold for Hifumi's death as well." Sakura adds. "Oh yeah that's right... but then who would be the culprit then? Well in regard to when we found Hifumi hurt in the nurse's office all of us except Hiro and Kyoko heard him screaming. That's when we ran downstairs and found Hifumi hurt." Hina says.
"That's totally true! We're all in the clear!" Genocide Jack says. "But then that wouldn't make any sense if none of us did it, so I think someone is lying about their alibi." I said, "But if that's true then it would have to have been before seven which was when Celeste was attacked and this whole situation happened." Hina says. "This also adds to the problem as Mondo said. If we have rock-solid alibi's for when we heard from Hifumi's scream and before Hiro was drowned. That would mean that none of us killed either of them." Sakura says. "And it does not stop there. There was also the moment when we discovered his body had disappeared... When his body vanished from the nurses office... Hina and I were in the bathroom together, while everyone else was in the equipment room, correct? Most of us were together in the nurse's office because of Hifumi going missing knowing he was still alive." Celeste says.
"Well, don't forget, I was passed out in the equipment room the whole time!" Genocide Jack shouts. "Based on what we have there's no way that either of them could have committed suicide, given with the evidence we found it's impossible to say either of them killed themselves." I said. "So in other words it is impossible for any of us to have moved Hifumi from the nurses office to the repository. On the other hand Kyoko and Hiro had disappeared. So they most certainly could have done those things." Celeste said. "Hmm... So what now Kyoko?" Makoto asked. "For now we can't get fixated on who did it, or we'll keep just keep going around in circles." She says, "That's true, we aren't gettin anywhere with deciding who did it, but then what should we discuss next though?" I asked.
"It's simple rather than focusing on who, I propose we start talking about how... It's true that Hiro was drowned in the pool, and the culprit used Justice Hammer 4 to knock Hiro while he was being drowned. However we first need to focus on Hifumi for a minute and figure out how his body moved from the nurse's office to the repository." She says, "That's true. We searched everywhere, but we couldn't figure out how to explain the body disappearing. And according to what Celeste said... his body apparently disappeared in the one minute she and Hina took their eyes off him." Makoto says. "On top of that there's no way any of us could have dragged his body up two flights of stairs without being seen." I added.
"It's not just that, on top of carrying Hifumi up from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor, but it also takes into account the one minute he disappeared and his weight. The only people who could probably lift Hifumi theoretically would be Sakura or Mondo." Makoto says. "However since Mondo has been with Makoto throughout the entire ordeal, and I have been with Byakuya and Toko in the equipment room both of us have witnesses to our alibi's." Sakura says. "So then where the hell does this get us?" I ask. "Well, what if I told you there was a way to make the impossible, possible?" Kyoko says.
Right now I'm not sure where she's going with this, but I can't come up with anything to help out. "If Hifumi... moved himself." Kyoko said. Kyoko dropped a bomb I can't believe we overlooked. "Hifumi m-moved on his own!?" Hina exclaims. "Wait, are you tryin to say he moved out of the nurses office by himself?" I asked. "I believe that is a possibility, since as you have said before, Hifumi was still alive at the time." Byakuya says. "It's true that Hifumi was alive but given his injuries is it really possible that he had walked out on his own?" Sakura asked. "It's as I stated before about a certain someone, I believe that he was faking his injuries up until we found him in the repository." Byakuya says. "That... isn't possible..." Celeste says.
"I don't know about it being impossible. We exhausted every option, so what Byakuya says makes the most sense since we already established we all have airtight alibi." I said. "Plus I believe there are some pieces of evidence that proves Hifumi was the one who left on his own." Makoto says. "I agree, so I propose that we should take another look at the events surrounding Hifumi next since we already covered most of the mystery behind Hiro's murder." Kyoko says. "This whole thing is pointless..." Celeste says. "And what makes you so sure about that huh?" I ask. "It's quite simple really, you see it was a matter of the position that was changed when we found him in the nurse's office first, and when we found him later in the repository."
"Actually there are a few key differences between Hifumi in the nurse's office and the repository... The major difference is his glasses. That fact alone proves he was faking his injuries from the start." Makoto says. "Perhaps you would like to fill the rest of us in?" Celeste asks in an arrogant bitter tone. "When we found Hifumi in the nurse's office, his glasses were covered with blood. But when we found him again in the repository they were spotless. Plus I found the item he used to wipe them clean in the nurse's office trash can. It was a glasses cleaning cloth featuring a certain cartoon mascot! One look at the bloodstain on the cloth should make things clear." Makoto says. "And when you think about only a few of us here where glasses are but the only person to have freaky as hell mascots on their cloth to begin with... plus isn't that the same mascot that was on Hifumi's camera too?" I asked.
"Yes so it confirms that this piece of cloth was used to wipe Hifumi's glasses clean, and Hifumi was the only one who could have something like that with him." Makoto says. "But that character, I think he said it was called Princess Piggles, from "Demon Angel Pretty Pudgy Princess. I think." Hina says. "I highly doubt anyone but Hifumi would have brought something like this to school... so Hifumi is the only one who could have used that." Makoto says. "Well I can't blame ya about the title itself is a mouthful but that proves both those items belonged to Hifumi... wait that's what was bothering!" I shouted.
I just realized something that was bothering me for some time now. "What is it Mondo, what's been bothering you?" Makoto asked. "The name of that costume we gave it, Robo Justice, Hifumi was first one to call it that, but when we were in the dining hall when searched the third floor for the first time, and started to panic he gave out a bunch names of anime characters... and Robo Justice was one of them." I said it was bothering me for some time now but that fact that Hifumi was the only one who came up with that name on the spot he was the only one to make up something like that. "Even if that is true, it does not mean he wiped the blood off himself and came up with a ridiculous name for the costume assailant by himself." Celeste says interrupting. "You talk a lot shit for a walking goth snob." I said back.
"There are some other factors that prove it was Hifumi, for starters who would benefit from a clean pair of glasses, other than the glasses owner? Now that Mondo mentioned it Hifumi has been the only person to talk about any kinds of anime, and the name Robo Justice most likely came from some kind of anime, and Hifumi is the only person who could come up with an anime character like that." Makoto says. "Those are definitely some good points." Sakura says. "So since we narrowed it down, Hifumi is the only one who could think about and have all that kind of crap lying around." I said.
"So let's assume Hifumi left the nurses office, he faked his injuries, then when he's alone, he wipes his glasses clean so he can see... Then he stands up and walks out of the room on his own two feet." Kyoko says. "But then that would mean until we found him in the repository he was never injured to begin with." I said. "That's absolutely correct Mondo. So you see the impossible task of the culprit moving his weakened body is possible, wouldn't you say?" Kyoko asks. I couldn't believe this kind of possibility that we completely overlooked yet it was the only way to make some kind of sense. "But then, if he was faking his injuries...what was with all that blood? Was it paint or somethin?" Hina asks. "That's easy to answer: the fridge in the nurse's office contains packs of blood for emergencies. He probably used one of those." Kyoko says. "So he just dumped it anywhere and pretended to be a breathing whimpering puppy! But he got crazy with it, and had to wipe his glasses off when he was done! God, what an idiot!" Genocide Jack says.
"There's also another reason of why Hifumi was fine the whole time, it also gives a bit more of an explanation in regard to Hiro's murder. You know what I'm talking about right Makoto?" Kyoko asks. Makoto stood back and thought for a second and looked at me. "Hey Mondo, do you remember what you told me? It was when we examined Hifumi's body in the repository." Makoto says. "Oh yeah, I told you to feel his clothes for a bit, but it was also when Hina and I were sitting next to him as he laid dying." I said, "Huh? What do you mean?" Hina asks. "Hifumi had some kind of weird smell coming from his body, it was like a bad kind of smell, I don't know how to explain it, I mean Hina you're a swimmer or whatever should you have recognized the smell?" I asked.
"Wait... I'm confused... What do you mean smell?" Hina asks. "I believe what Mondo means... is that Hifumi smelled like chlorine." Makoto says. "W-what?" Hina says. "On top of that when Mondo and I examined Hifumi's body later we felt that his clothes were still wet. There's only one place where Hifumi could get wet and smell like chlorine. That place is the pool." Makoto says. "Now you understand, now with that part of the mystery has been resolved we can conclude who exactly was responsible for killing Hiro since we already established that there time of deaths from the Monokuma Files were only an half hour apart from each other." Kyoko says. Makoto thought about it, but it seemed obvious now who it was.
"It could only have been Hifumi. Hiro's killer was Hifumi." Makoto says. "H-Hifumi was the culprit?" Hina asks in complete shock. "Not entirely, however in regard to Hiro's murder yes, another piece evidence that proves Hifumi did it was the fact that when Mondo and I examined his body his clothes were still wet, which means that they didn't have enough time to completely air dry, which would explain why the time of death between the two was only a half an hour apart from each other." Makoto says. "I mean Hifumi was on your lap right? Didn't feel something Hina?" I asked.
Hina calmed down for a minute to gather her thoughts. "Oh wait now that you mentioned it. When Hifumi was on my lap, his back felt kind of wet, and the chlorine smell from his head was so close to my nose, I didn't think about it until now because we were trying to keep Hifumi alive." Hina says. "This would also explain that while we were gathered in the nurse's office, he first went to the equipment room to take Justice Hammer 4 to the pool. By that time the dolly and blue tarp were already in the pool earlier since initially Hiro was used bait, however since nobody had died by that point Hifumi took Hiro out of the pool locker and threw him into deep end most likely. That being said he'd probably used the hammer first to knock Hiro into the water, and using his own weight he landed on top of him and drowned him at the deep end leaving him to die." Byakuya says.
"That would also explain why there were those bandages in the deep end too, Hifumi was the only wearing those bandages and since he was fine, they probably slipped off of him when he was drowning Hiro." I said. "Plus it also explains why the door to the repository got locked." "The door was locked?" Genocide Jack asks. "Well before we get to that, we went to look for Hifumi after his body disappeared, right? So me and Sakura went to the repository. But when we got there the door was locked." Hina says. "And the repository door can only be locked from the inside. Which means when Hina and Sakura got to the repository, someone was already inside." Makoto says.
"And one of those people was Hifumi, wouldn't that also explain why we found both him and Justice Hammer 4 lying there when it was unlocked?" I asked. "Yes since we already confirmed that Justice Hammer 4 had already been damaged Hifumi was the only one to even bring the hammer with him." Byakuya adds. "So now you see this whole time Hifumi had convinced us he was injured, so when he saw his chance, he left for the pool and as we already established... he killed Hiro in cold blood. So in other words Hifumi wasn't just another victim in this case- he was one of the assailants." Kyoko says.
I couldn't believe all this time I was worried about Hifumi but instead he committed a murder. "THAT LYIN NERDY MOTHERFUCKER!" I yelled. "But that can't be!" Hina says. "If you're having trouble, Makoto and Mondo already found plenty of details of why Hifumi murdered Hiro but I believe there's one more piece of evidence that proves he was the culprit... or at least one of them." Kyoko says. "And what would that be?" I asked. "The single biggest piece of evidence that points to his involvement. You know what I'm talking about right, Makoto, it was an item we found in Hiro's body that Hifumi failed to get rid... plus I believe it's also something that Byakuya had been hinting about earlier." She says.
I look at Byakuya who looks away, before I could say a word to Byakuya, Makoto got that bolt of inspiration. "You're talking about the note that we found from Hiro's pocket right?" Makoto asked. "A... hidden note?" Hina asks. "That's right, when Mondo and I looked through Hiro's body we found a piece of paper that was hidden in his pocket remember. Byakuya even said that Hifumi didn't bother to get rid of it because the paper would have ripped apart from being in the pool water for so long and we wouldn't have been able to see the writing on it." Makoto says.
The girls were a bit baffled about the pockets, but Makoto got everyone back on track. "Well like I said even though the note was drenched in water we were still able to read it and it said "I found a hole maybe we can use to escape. Monokuma can't find out, so don't tell anyone else for now. Let's meet in the rec room at 1 A.M." "Yeah, and I showed you guys the letter I got. However we already established that the letter Hiro and I got were different. Mine said "I found a hole maybe we can use it to escape. Monokuma can't find out, so don't tell anyone else for now. Let's meet in the equipment room at 6 AM."
"So it's true that the notes Hiro and Mondo got aren't the same. The killer got in touch with Mondo and Hiro... however there's one difference I just realized now." "What? What?!" "Is that the culprit initially used the letter to draw out Mondo... and for him to be the one to be murdered." Makoto says. "Wait... I fuckin knew it! I knew that letter was a trap somehow, I figured because that was how Sayaka got Leon out to try to kill him, but someone wanted to kill me?!" I asked. "Hello! Over here! Objection! Objection!" Genocide Jack calls out.
"I don't understand what's going on but Mondo had that letter right? So whoever wrote it wasn't trying to lure out a pompadour dick over there they were trying to get Huffy to come." Genocide Jack says. "Would ya stop calling me that!" I shouted. "So aside from that name you're saying Huffy is Hifumi?" Hina asks. "Ugh, yes! Why must you ruin it EVERY TIME?!" "Before we continue forward I would like to propose a different theory." Celeste says. "Oh great you finally decide to open your fuckin mouth and that's what you say?" I ask.
"Well what if it's possible that Hifumi didn't murder Hiro... but rather Mondo." Celeste says. I was just taken back that this two faced bitch just tried to make me the culprit. "It would make sense considering that Hiro's letter said 1 am, Since Mondo said 6 am he probably had time to knock out Hiro, leave him in the suit, and join the rest of you in the dining hall." Celeste said. "W-HA... WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU SAYING I'M NOT THE KILLER!" I shouted.
"No that can't be it Celeste... because when I got up to meet in dining hall this morning I saw Mondo leave his room at the exact time as I did, on top of that he's been at my side the entire time, since we made a promise that we would have each other's back and never leave each other's side, plus we already established that Hiro didn't die until two hours later, since Mondo had been at my side the whole time there's no evidence of him being the culprit." Makoto says. "Makoto... thanks man." I said. "Anytime Mondo. Besides, there is a connection between the letters Mondo and Hiro got."
"Wh- What the hell are you talking about?!" Genocide Jack shouts with her scissors pointing straight at Makoto. "As we said the note said to meet at 6 AM but Mondo never went to the equipment room, since we already knew Mondo would come later to the dining hall he wouldn't be good at telling time, plus he said that it was trap and went to the dining hall like normal time at 7 am." Makoto says. "It seemed that Justice Hammer 4 was never used. While we can confirm that the other hammers were only set ups, Justice Hammer 4 was the only one that was used for both murders." Sakura says. "On top of that we found Justice Hammer 4 in the repository with Hifumi, the drops of blood and water mixed together in the pool where Hifumi went to get the hammer, all of that in the equipment room was intended for Mondo to be the victim."
"Hm, well, when you put it like that...No further objections! Kyeehehehehe!" Genocide Jack laughing maniacally. "So wait if the culprit intended to try and lure me out and make me be the victim, then why was Hiro the one who died?" I asked. "It's quite simple really, it was even something I hinted at before. See, since Mondo never went to the equipment room the culprits plan didn't go exactly as planned. Most likely I believe Hiro was set up to be framed as the culprit. However, Mondo never went to the equipment room and so nothing was accomplished for the culprit. So around the time when Hifumi left nurses office and Mondo was still alive he went to pool while we were busy, went to the locker to pull Hiro out, and used the unused Justice Hammer 4 he grabbed from the equipment room to knock Hiro into the deep end of the pool and using his own weight to drown him." Byakuya says.
"So I take it after he got a taste of that he basically got greedy... he took the hammer back to the equipment room to wash it off, only to bring it with him to the repository and tried to kill someone with it, but instead the tables were turned on him and someone murdered him." I said, "Which means that he likely was the one who wrote the notes, and since there's already evidence of him being in the pool, his wet clothes, the smell of chlorine from his body all of that evidence already proves that he was an accomplice in the murders." Kyoko says. "However as Mondo said, it would make sense why Hifumi brought Justice Hammer 4 in the respiratory, trying to kill someone else after he killed Hiro, but as he said the tables were turned him and the one he also planned to murdered ended up killing him the same way that happened between Sayaka and Leon." Sakura says.
"Holy shit! I really thought he was trying to save himself, but instead he planned all this shit just to get back at me and kill me?! So he wasn't over our argument huh, that backstabbing anime obsessive motherfucker!" I shouted. "But wait, then who killed Hifumi if he intended to kill one of us?" Hina asks. "It's as Mondo stated whoever it was he intended to kill was the one who killed him and is likely the one who plotted this whole thing." Sakura says. "Before we go any further I'd like to ask Monokuma something. At the start of the trial you said that the only blackened is the one who killed Hiro, if Hifumi is Hiro's culprit then how would he be executed if he's already dead?" Byakuya asks.
"I'll save you some time since Hifumi isn't here defending himself. So it's true the blackened for Yasuhiro Hagakure would indeed be Hifumi Yamada. But I can't really punish a blackened who is already dead. So basically the blackened for this case and trial is the one who killed Hifumi." Monokuma says. "So basically the same thing as before?" I ask. "Of course." Monokuma says gleefully. "We already established that he was killed in the repository a half an hour after he drowned Hiro in the pool." Kyoko says. "Of course during that time we all went to search for Hifumi, and as discussed before he killed Hiro while we were busy searching for him. In other words during that time, none of us have alibi's." Byakuya adds.
I still don't get this dude's logic but Hina stepped in to speak. "Wait, but me and Sakura were together, and we already established that Makoto and Mondo were together as well." She says. "So since we each have witnesses the four of us should be off the suspect list." I said. "True so by that logic that would mean Toko and I are off the list since we were also witnesses to each other's alibi, so that means the only possible suspects left are Celeste and Kyoko." Byakuya says smiling. "Before you jump the gun on that there's one more thing we need to go over with Hifumi's death." I said, "And what might that be?" Celeste asks. "Even though both Hiro and Hifumi were killed with a similar weapon there's no way Hifumi was killed with Justice Hammer 4." I said.
"I'm surprised. It seems there's some semblance of a brain knocking around in that skull of yours, after all. I guess spending time with Makoto has paid off for you after all." Byakuya says. "Yeah well don't flatter yourself either." I said back. "So the question now is to figure out what the weapon was used to kill Hifumi. I don't understand it myself." Sakura says. "So the question is, how could the culprit have gotten their hands on the hammer, it's possible that when Hifumi attacked the culprit they dropped the hammer after damaging the wall and while Hifumi was busy getting his bearings, the culprit picked up the hammer and killed him before he realized what happened. Personally, I haven't a clue" Celeste says.
"Well no offense but you're gonna have to think of something since you and Kyoko aren't off the suspect list while the rest of us have a witness to this shitstorm." I said. "We already established that Justice Hammers 1 and 2 that were used in the rec room and library weren't big enough to kill anyone and they were only used as decoys." Makoto says. Everyone was pretty much stumped by this point until Byakuya spoke up again. "Is it not possible they used a different weapon?" He asks. "Why the hell would that be possible if the Monokuma Files say they were both given fractures and blows to the head?" I ask. "So what was used to kill Hifumi?" Sakura asks. "There were a lot of hammers on the wall when we saw the repository so could it have been a hammer we overlooked like a Justice Hammer 5?" I asked.
"Wait Mondo, you might actually be on to something!" Makoto shouts. "Huh, what, what? What did I say?" I asked. "I believe that the murder weapon wasn't one of the justice hammers, not even Justice Hammer 4 that Hifumi brought to the repository, it was a hammer from the repository. The killer must have grabbed the biggest one that was still on the rack and used that to kill Hifumi after he dropped Justice Hammer 4 from hitting the wall. While most of the hammers were covered in debris from when Hifumi launched an attack, one of them was scrubbed completely clean, so in this case this would be considered to be Justice Hammer 5, and the reason that it was scrubbed clean was because that hammer was used to kill Hifumi. If the hammer got covered in Hifumi's blood, of course they would try to clean it off." Makoto says.
"I was only kiddin about there being a Justice Hammer 5 but with the different size hammers we found, plus the hammers clearly being made from them that would make sense. When you think about it there weren't any other justice hammers in the repository aside from the number 4 so of course it would have been one of the hammers that was still on the rack." I said. "If that's true, that would explain why the Monokuma File note's about Hiro's death, where while his cause of death was drowning he had fractures to the skull." Sakura says.
"So to go over, Hifumi brought Justice Hammer 4 to knock Hiro into the pool after he woke up from being incapacitated, after he finished drowning Hiro they quickly cleaned the Justice Hammer in the equipment room, and took the hammer to the repository to kill someone else most likely the culprit, and after he swung and missed smashing the wall, the culprit grabbed one of the hammers from the rack and used the largest one there to kill Hifumi." Byakuya says. "So whoever did that is the true killer- the one Hifumi was working with... and the one that Hifumi initially planned to kill." Hina adds.
"Hold on a moment. I still think it's strange to assume someone was working with him. The way the graduation rule works, there is no benefit to helping someone else carrying out a murder. So the idea that anyone would work together like that is simply ludicrous. We talked about this, did we not?" Celeste says, interrupting again. "No we didn't talk about it. Isn't that why Hifumi did it, after killing Hiro he thought of doing more of wanting to get out and trying to kill someone after Hiro." I said, "And that is why you fail to understand Mondo so let me explain it this way, Assuming the rule holds true, it is simply impossible that two people worked together on this."
"Actually Celeste there's something Mondo does understand." Makoto says. "Since there were two murders , it's at least plausible that more than one person was involved." He continues. "What do you mean?" Sakura asks. "If there'd only been one murder, then yes, the idea of an accomplice isn't really worth considering. Naturally, if only one person can be saved per murder, an accomplice has no risk versus reward benefit. Just like Mondo said, Hifumi attacked the person he planned to kill without provocation knowing this so he could escape, however the culprit was prepared for that and killed him instead." Kyoko says.
"That's true but what the hell is this risk versus reward stuff you're talking about?" I asked. "I'm confused as well, what does that mean Kyoko?" Makoto asks. "The payoff for working together- the reward that balances out the risk of taking part in the scheme. There's no point in being someone's accomplice if there's no benefit to you. However, if there were some potential mutual reward for the risk, then cooperation becomes possible." Kyoko says.
I'm still standing next to her and yet I still have no clue what the hell she's saying. "I still don't get it; the fuck is that supposed to mean?" I ask. "Basically what she's saying is that two people can act as each other's accomplices to commit two separate murders." Byakuya says. "I think that's what the true killer told Hifumi; they would each have an accomplice for their crime. And based on the events that were supposed to happen, Hifumi would have been the first one to act, murdering Mondo. They would have made him carry out the first murder so he couldn't back out of helping them later on. However since Mondo never went to the equipment room and had been with us the whole time, Hifumi had to go to the only person that wasn't in a group. That person was Hiro, so then after murdering Hiro, Hifumi got the idea of betraying the culprit only for the culprit to know about his plan after he swung Justice Hammer 4 against the wall and missing." Kyoko explains.
"So in this case, there wasn't one single person committing multiple murders... Instead, each person killed someone, creating two different incidents. And while it wasn't entirely how the true killer wanted, the whole idea of it being just one person because that's how they wanted it to be designed. A single suspicious individual, a similar weapon used in each crime though slightly different, Hifumi's disappearing body... By creating one seamless set of circumstances, they made it look like one person was behind it all!" Makoto says.
"The mastermind picked their target and managed to convince him to go along with their plan. Since Hifumi killed Hiro instead of Mondo, Hifumi got the idea about the no accomplice rule, but so did the real culprit. Once the real culprit avoided Hifumi's swing they simply... killed their accomplice. Which, if true, means that betraying Hifumi was part of their plan from the very beginning, plus they also must have anticipated Hifumi's betrayal and got rid of him first." Byakuya says. "Th-That's just... awful! How could anyone be so cruel?!" Hina shouts.
"Well it's just like Byakuya said, whoever the culprit was got the feeling that Hifumi was going to betray them, but they were going to kill Hifumi anyways, and obviously it was someone that was both faster and intelligent to pull a fast one on Hifumi before he could do the same." I said, "He has a point; besides I can't help but admire its cunning. Still their choice of accomplice seems... odd." Byakuya says. "Well not that I'm agreeing with you on that, I think the fact was Hifumi was just an easy target if he was easily able to listen to whatever the culprit said and that Hifumi just wasn't agile enough to avoid getting hit at all." I said, "That's true and because of that I understand how an accomplice can be involved, but the question remains who was the one pulling Hifumi's strings?" Sakura asks. "That's problem numero uno right now!" Genocide Jack says.
"Hey Makoto before you figure that out there's something I want to say." I say. "Yeah Mondo?" "There's a few things I need to ask someone here that's been bothering me since this whole scenario began." I look right at Celeste who was twiddling with herself. "Hey Celeste, what's with the whole silent treatment? Ever since we cleared up that Hiro wasn't the culprit you've been acting really quiet. Another thing that was bugging me was that when Makoto and I tried to ask you questions multiple times during the investigation you seemed to dodge the questions and never gave us a straight answer, so is there something you didn't want to tell us?" I asked. I looked at Celeste's eyes yet somehow she was still calm and refused to say a word.
"Actually Mondo I think I know why she hasn't said anything... It's because she was the one who did it." Makoto says. "Ah, so I'm the suspicious individual now am I?" Celeste asks. "Hell yes you are, plus now that I think about it you said you found Hifumi in the repository even though the door was locked, which means you had to be the one inside the repository and used that hammer to finish off Hifumi!" I shouted. "You two are truly entertaining together, but I do hate this kind of joke..." She says calmly. "A joke? I wonder..." Byakuya ponders.
"A joke my ass I just explained what happened to Hifumi, plus with your strange behavior of not saying shit you're the only person that would have gotten to Hifumi if you found him in the repository, so why don't you give up already!?" I shouted again. It was clear that we got Celeste pegged yet she still remains unphased and continues to not say anything. "So let me rephrase what you're trying to say Mondo and clarify why you and Makoto think I'm the culprit. You're saying that I specifically chose to work with Hifumi. The idea that I would choose to spend any amount of time interacting with him... That I would go within ten feet of that SHIT-FOR-BRAINS! THAT LAZY, WORTHLESS, GODDAMN IDIOT! Ahem. Ah, pardonnez-moi." She says.
She just went into full psycho bitch for a minute just like before when Hifumi didn't give her the right coffee and lost her accent. "Just to be clear, there is evidence to support it. I must admit despite his lack of understanding Mondo was able to bring up a valid point about the repository door being locked, and you said that you found Hifumi in the repository." Byakuya says. "Is that so?" Celeste asks as her eyes look like they are about to pop out of their sockets. "Actually there's more evidence that I started to notice aside from what the brainless biker brought up. You see throughout the investigation there was a certain behavior that was common only to the two of you. Considering what we've learned so far and the fact that you've supposedly avoided the questions Makoto and Mondo asked you, it only further proves that the two of you were working together!" Byakuya continues as if he's trying to take the glory of this trial.
I looked at Makoto who pondered for a second and spoke. "The behavior they had in common has to do with the suspicious individual in the suit doesn't it? The only ones who ever actually saw Robo Justice firsthand were Celeste and Hifumi." He says, "Shush. The adults are talking now!" Byakuya interrupts. Makoto was taken aback, and I wasn't going to stand for this shit. "Hey fuckhead he's been taking control of this whole trial to steer us in the right direction and he's more adult than you asshole!" I yelled. "Mondo, it's fine. Trust me it's all right." Makoto says trying to reassure me.
Bitterly I kept my mouth shut and didn't say anything. "It's like Makoto said only Celeste and Hifumi ever laid eyes on the costumed individual. If we accept that Hifumi was one of the culprits, we can't help but suspect what Celeste has said as well." Byakuya says. "Are you saying everything they told us was a lie...?" Hina asks in shock. "Well I gotta admit, he does have a point, considering that Hifumi had intended to kill me we can't look past it, and honestly Celeste you've been spittin all kinds of bullshit, but Byakuya what exactly did she say that proves it her, like I said she's been saying a lot of bullshit but what words specifically?" I asked. "Well I'll answer your question just this once. You see it was after we took Hifumi to the nurse's office, we all began our search for this individual, correct? And not too long after that do you remember what Celeste said?" He asks us.
I thought about it and I spoke. "Wasn't it when she said to run up to the second floor because she saw Robo Justice?" I asked. Byakuya turns and continues to speak. "That's correct, we headed to the second floor specifically because of what she claimed to have seen. Next, to draw us all to the physics lab, up on the third floor..." "She let out a blood curdling scream." Sakura says. "And when we'd all come to see what was wrong, what was it she said? Byakuya asked. "She said that she blocked the stairs and said that Robo Justice ran to the physics lab right?" I asked.
"Yes, and once she'd done her job of getting us up to the physics lab...it was time for her partner to get to work." Byakuya says. "It was to get us to divide us into two groups, was that an attempt to get Mondo murdered during the investigation?!" Hina asks. "In fact Celeste was precisely the one who proposed that we split up. She hoped that while Makoto went up to tell my group about the injured Hifumi, and take Hina to the bathroom, she had hoped that Mondo would stay behind and let Hifumi kill him with Justice Hammer 3, but since Mondo had been with Makoto the whole time, that part of her plan backfired. Well? If Celeste and Hifumi were working together, all of those chance events suddenly become connected... plus it would also explain why Mondo had a target on his back by them but Hiro was ultimately the one to die in his place since the plan wasn't working for them. And on top of that... that piercing cry of yours early on... That was a signal to Hifumi, wasn't it? It was your way of telling him, "Were on the 3rd floor" As said before, since Mondo is still alive and is standing in this room right now, you wanted to find a desperate way to kill him so that way things would have gone to your plan. Why else would you let out a scream that could have carried across the seas?" Byakuya asked.
Celeste remained silent and not trying to defend herself, is she trying to make this more painfully obvious now? "I just realized another strange thing... When we found Hifumi in the nurse's office, who we now know was faking his injuries, Celeste you were the first one to exclaim that he was going to die. You wanted to make sure to let our guard down, you wanted to confirm this to try to separate Mondo from the rest of us so that Hifumi could kill him." Makoto says. Celeste continues to keep giving us the silent treatment and I was standing just outraged by the fact that Celeste went this far to try to have Hifumi kill me.
"You gotta be shittin me!" I yelled. "I-I don't believe it... Everything... the whole thing was one big act!?" Hina asks in distraught. "Hina. you were with Celeste when Hifumi's body disappeared, right?" Makoto asked. "Yeah... I was feeling kinda sick, so Celeste took me to the bathroom...Wait! Then that was..." "A lie as well." I said, "That's right. She wasn't worried about you. She just saw a chance to help Hifumi sneak out of the nurse's office." Makoto adds.
"Each piece isn't much by itself, but start putting them together and the picture gets very ugly indeed. Wouldn't you agree Celeste?" Byakuya asks as he finished explaining as I looked at Celeste red in the face and ready to fight. "So you manipulative backstabbing bitch, what do you say to all that?!" I shouted. "I have no idea what you mean." She says smiling as if she was trying to taunt us. "Bullshit you know exactly what happened!" I shouted. "He's right you know, there's no more point in denying it either. All because you made one fatal mistake." Byakuya replies.
I'm looking at him wondering what fatal mistake, when it seems to me Celeste made a bunch of mistakes. Despite how complicated this case has been Celeste just ended up being a big fuckin amateur. "I didn't even catch it myself when you first said it, but... looking back, I can say that that one little slip-up was your undoing." Byakuya says. Celeste loses her smile but keeps a level head. "Wh-what are you talking about...?" She asks. "Well personally I think she made a whole bunch of slip-ups when breaking this thing down, I mean this chick does nothing but spit bullshit for a living, so what exactly did she say that was a slip-up?" I asked.
"I'm talking about what you said after Hifumi's body disappeared and we returned to the nurses office." Byakuya says. I thought about it for a bit and it was around that same time where I basically told her to get her shit together... but now that I think about it and based on everything so far that could have been part of her act too. "I remember her saying that too, but... I don't understand what's so strange about it." Sakura says. "Then pay attention..."
"Get to the point asshole, are you gonna tell us or throw more shit at us!" I yelled. "Fine, you see Sakura, Toko, and I were first in the equipment room with the somewhat clean room and an unusable Justice Hammer 4, then Makoto and Mondo show up to tell us about Hifumi's injuries, so Sakura and I left with the two of them. Once we were in the hall we ran into Celeste, and the five of us headed to the nurse's office. Now of course none of us were aware about Hiro being dead, however when we discovered his body later in the pool Celeste was the only one that wasn't fazed by the shock of Hiro being killed, especially since she believed he was the culprit. I bring this up because if none of us knew that Hiro was dead before we found him and on top of Celeste's lack of shock of his death, then her comment doesn't make sense. It was completely out of place." Byakuya says.
"You know now that I think about it, when you said that, I thought you were losing your mind and I basically told you to get your shit together because I thought you were referring to my bro, Chihiro and the others who died before... but now, given what we know about what happened during this trial, that was part of your act too wasn't it. You kept spoutin bullshit this whole time, you remember what I said right Celeste? If you do, then you should tell me what you said." I asked.
"You hear that, Celeste? Everyone's having some trouble understanding. Could you repeat what you said? If you're really not the culprit as you keep insisting then you shouldn't have any problems repeating it, right?" Byakuya asks. Celeste remained silent and there's no point of the stupid ass silent treatment since everything pointed against her, so her being silent just means she's fuckin guilty. "All I said was they must be really enjoying this. The sight of us standing around, frightened and confused. They must be positively elated. We are all going to die here. We are going to die. Just like those guys died." Celeste says.
Right away I understood what Byakuya was talking about and Makoto heard it too as he spoke up. "That's right... There's no reason Celeste should have said 'Just like those guys died'... When she said that none of us knew if anyone was going to die, or even on the off chance that Mondo would be killed. Just like Byakuya said, despite saying how unfortunate it was, Celeste was completely unfazed when we found Hiro's body in the pool area." Makoto says. Celeste remains completely silent as Byakuya continues the conversation. "Exactly. And we didn't run into her until after we were all out in the hall. Plus there was no reason for her to say that if nobody had died yet, unless she would have seen Mondo in the equipment room dead for herself."
"So how did you know, Celeste? How would you know if more than one person would be killed? And how did you know it would be both guys? Because Kyoko had also disappeared, right so she could have been dead, too. Finally you wouldn't have known that Hifumi killed Hiro unless he told you that he did after he tried to kill you with Justice Hammer 4?" Makoto asked question after question, yet Celeste still said nothing. "Those are a lot of good arguments Makoto. So what do you say to that you lyin bitch!?" I snapped.
Celeste sighed and just laughed it off, her back is against the wall at this point and yet she remains calm as always. "You all have such vivid imaginations, you know that?" She says, "Imaginations?" Byakuya asks. "Oh come on she's still trying to say random shit to fuck with our heads! Just give it up already, we all know you're the one who did it!" I shouted. "Oh Mondo you poor, diluted imbecile, you say that I was lying when I told you about the suspicious person I saw... Then what about the picture I took? How do you explain this picture of the costumed villain dragging Hifumi away?" She asks with a calm smile.
"Not this shit again since you and Hifumi made this shit up you probably made it a set up to make him the villain, it looks like Hifumi is carrying the guy instead of the other way around to me. Plus your so-called injury on your arm healed really fast now that I think about it, if Hifumi was acting the whole time the two of you were acting the whole thing as well!" I said. "Have you forgotten that Hiro was the only one who could fit in the suit, so the picture still makes him the culprit. Plus this camera doesn't have a timer so it would have to be taken manually, and you would need both hands to even hold the camera, so in other words, it is an unassessable fact that this picture of Hifumi being dragged away. If everything I told you was a lie then what proof do you have to explain why the picture exists?"
"YOU TOOK THE PICTURE AND HIFUMI ACTED LIKE HE WAS BEING TAKEN!" I shouted interrupting Celeste because this chick is so neck deep in lies that I wasn't going to stand for it anymore. "Actually Mondo maybe onto something. If a few people object to this picture then how can we be certain that the suspect was dragging Hifumi away?" Kyoko asks. "What could you possibly mean by that?" Celeste asks. "Surely there are other explanations than the one you've offered up." Kyoko says. "No... there is no other explanation." Celeste says. She's really getting more and more desperate. "Actually you're dismissing what Mondo said earlier Celeste." Makoto says. "Pardon?" Celeste asks as her voice begins to grate and her composure starts to lose. "It's not a picture of the suspect dragging Hifumi away... It's just as Mondo said it's a picture of Hifumi dragging the suspect away!" Makoto calls out. Suddenly Celeste lost her calm composure and started to panic.
"I'm surprised but Mondo how did you know it was the other way around?" Hina asked. "Well I just figured that if Hifumi and Celeste were putting on this whole act after discovering the truth, then that picture also seemed to be an act too." I said. "And that way of thinking is in the realm of possibility. The one being dragged off in the picture isn't Hifumi, but the person in the robot suit who we now know was Hiro. This picture was to make us believe that it was the other way around. And because of Hifumi's thinking of Robo Justice, the whole idea was made to lead us astray even farther. If you saw someone wearing something like that in this situation, of course you'd notice and be suspicious." Kyoko adds. "How's that, you punk, you tried to get Hifumi to kill me and set this whole thing on Hiro, now are you gonna listen to us!?" I said to Celeste.
Celeste regained her composure and started laughing, there's no way she could have any arguments left I'm thinking just go down already. "Such a thing... is utterly impossible. Hifumi was dragging him away? Ridiculous." She says as her eyes begin to bulge out again. "Is it? I don't think it's ridiculous at all." Kyoko replies calmly. It amazes me that Kyoko can remain calm and think rationally. It's like she has a six foot wall around her emotions but it's definitely working. "Then shut your mouth and allow me to educate you!" Celeste snaps. "Why don't you shut your goddamn mouth. You're not lyin your way out of this one damn it, you denying everything proves that you did it!" I shouted. "You truly are a complete retard, Mondo. We've already established that if the person inside the suit was unconscious... there's no way they could stand up straight like that." She says.
The shit that Celeste keeps saying both the insults and backwards ass logic were pissing me off, but quickly Makoto stepped up to the plate and called her out on her bullshit again. "Even if the person inside the suit were unconscious, they could still stand up like that. Because that Robo Justice suit had a certain characteristic..." Makoto says. "You mean how the suit couldn't bend at the waist right?" I asked. "That's right! They totally made a mistake when they made it, so it couldn't bend at the waist!" Hina says. "I'm not sure that was a mistake... I think the suit was designed that way from the beginning to be used the way it was." Kyoko says. I turn to notice that at long last Celeste started to lose her composure and anger was starting to step in, now this proves once and for all that this lyin psycho bitch has no arguments left.
"Mondo is right, Celeste and Hifumi took the suit they'd specially designed and stuffed Hiro into it... That's how they were able to fake the whole thing. The point of it all was to make us believe whoever was in the suit was to blame!" Makoto says. "Plus if those two made the damn thing Hifumi probably knew Hiro wouldn't be able to move, so that's why he drowned him in the pool while he still had the suit on so Hiro wouldn't try to swim back up or fight back." I said. Celeste became less calm, and instead became more unsettled and angrier. "Well then, I suppose this is checkmate..." Byakuya says. So now I thought that this god forsaken trial would finally be over... until Celeste started laughing but not the calm laughing from earlier, the kind of laugh that someone in a mental institution would do and suddenly
"DON'T MAKE ME, LAUGH YOU IDIOT! WHAT DO YOU MEAN CHECKMATE?!" She shouts. Just like before her true colors finally came out and what we got was some broad who is emotionally unstable. "CLEARLY YOU WANT TO CRAM INTO YOU'RE LITTLE GUILTY BOX. WELL THERE'S ONE LITTLE PROBLEM! HAVE YOU ALREADY FORGOTTEN WHAT HIFUMI SAID AS HE LAID DYING?!" She shouts. She was losing her fuckin mind and screaming more than when I'm stressed. Suddenly she went back from pure rage to calm happiness "Well in case you forgot I'll tell you, when we asked who killed Hifumi, his answer was quite clear, was it not? He said and I quote 'Yasuhiro'. IN OTHER WORDS YASUHIRO HAGAKUREEE!" She shouts.
"Is this broad really ok or is she just fucked up in the head?" I asked. "He did say Yasuhiro, but are we sure he was really pointing the finger at Hiro?" Kyoko asked, still calm as ever. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT I'LL BURN YOU ALIVE!" She shouts. "Kyoko... What do you mean?" Makoto asks. I'm standing amazed, no matter how much she screams, Makoto and Kyoko are levelheaded and calmly talking without noticing Celeste's anger. "Wait, I think I get it... He called us by our last names!" Makoto says. "Exactly. I know I heard him say Mr. Naegi more than once, for example. However the true meaning is what Hifumi said to Mondo before he said Yasuhiro, you remember right Mondo?"
Kyoko turns to me. "That's right, when he was laying dying before he said Yasuhiro, he said he was sorry but called me by my last name Mr. Owada." I said. "Which means that if Hifumi did mean to say Hiro's name and pin the crime on him, he would have said his last name, Hagakure." Kyoko says. "I'm sure it was just incidental... by chance he just... his first name...!" Celeste says as she desperately tries to get the situation back to her side. "Random chance... Now isn't that a convenient explanation? No, there's no reason to think he would have said the name any differently than normal. But he must have run out of energy before he could say any more." Kyoko says.
"So Hifumi was trying to tell us the last name of whoever killed him...?" Makoto asks. "But the name he said doesn't apply to anyone here..." Sakura says. "Well, no hold on... there's one person it could apply to... And that's Celeste. She never actually told us what her real name is..." Makoto says. "Wait, how the hell do you know that?" I ask. I mean yeah I had a feeling that name didn't sound right since Celeste drops her fancy accent when she screams but I didn't know how Makoto figured it out.
Before I could say anymore Celeste spoke. "Wh...? What did you just say? To think you'd take your false accusation so far... I DON'T KNOW WHETHER TO LAUGH OR SPIT! COME ON! Enough of you're idiotic blather! Yasuhiro is a loser's name! Do I look like a loser to you!? WELL!? DOOOOO I?! WHAT?! I think I've earned the right to be a little on edge!" She screams again. "Okay, then fill us in, what's your real name?" Makoto asks. "Fine, make sure your ear holes are wiiiiiide open AND LISTEN UP! My real name is Celestia Ludenberg! Could you PLEASE stop making me repeat myself OVER AND OVER AGAIN!?"
Why is it that this chick won't refuse to give up, how could she even have the energy to argue with us anymore? "We're going to have to check. Given everything we found out during this trial it seems that you lied about your name as well. So there's no point in arguing anymore Celeste if you haven't told any of us, then what's your real name?" Sakura asks. "How many times do I have to tell you...? My...name... is... CELESTIA LUDENBERG GODDAMNIT!" She shouts. "How long do you plan to go on pretending?" Byakuya asks. "I'm not pretending. It's the truth! And since you have no way to contradict me..."
"That's it... the handbooks!" Makoto interrupts. "WHAT!?" Celeste screams. At this point Celeste's brain is probably on Mars right now. She is too far gone to notice, now I understand why Kyoko brought up the thing about the handbooks. "Anytime you turn your handbook on, it shows the owner's name when it boots up right? I can confirm this. When Mondo got his new handbook, it showed his real name when Monokuma gave him his handbook in the rec room. So both Monokuma and Mondo can testify to my statement. So all we had to do is check her handbook and that'll clear everything up. That's how we can find out Celeste's real name!" Makoto says. "Th-that's an invasion of privacy! I-I refuse to cooperate." She says.
"Keep that bullshit to yourself. I didn't need to get my bro to look at my handbook if I had Leon's or not so there is no reason we can't do the same, how about I grab that handbook out of your hands and settle this now!" I shouted. I was about ready to leave my seat and just grab Celeste and dig for her handbook. "Wait, that won't be necessary. You got Taka to tell the truth without having to look at our handbooks, So I want Celeste to do the same." Makoto says. "Alright man I trust you'll get this chick to finally crack." I said.
Makoto took a deep breath and looked at Celeste. "Celeste... Can you please just tell us what really happened? Please, just tell us..." Makoto asks calmly. Celeste calms down and her usual composure returns... sort of. "Even when I'm put in check, it's just my nature not to give up. Because... Because, because... because, because, because, BECAUSE... UNTIL THE GAME'S OVER, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN!" She screams. "Sorry to break this but this game is over. All right Makoto, it's time to bring down the house." I said. "Sure thing Mondo, I'll be the one to settle this, I'll go over the case again, from the beginning, and shed light on all your crimes. And that'll bring everything to an end!" Makoto says. With that Makoto began to recap this entire mindfuck of a case.
"Before anything, the killer persuaded someone to help carry out the murder. And that person was... Hifumi. With an accomplice, the killer was able to execute a number of otherwise impossible schemes. First, they convinced someone to meet them in the rec room last night at one in the morning. That "someone" they met with was Hiro. The murderous duo intended to pass Hiro off as the prime suspect. So when they met up with him... they drugged him, knocked him out, and stuffed him into the Robo Justice suit. Next, Hifumi positioned himself to make it look like Robo Justice was attacking him... while the killer used a digital camera to take pictures of the "assault." They did all this just to create evidence that would have put suspicion on Hiro. When they were done with him, they shoved him, still unconscious, into the pool room locker. And then finally, at 6 A.M., they moved into the murder phase of their plan. Which was to call Mondo to the equipment room to kill him.
However, little did both Hifumi and the killer know that Mondo knew about the culprits plan and never went to the equipment room. Instead Mondo joined a handful of us at the dining hall at around seven. Meanwhile both Hifumi and the killer likely were frustrated that Mondo never showed up and their murder phase of the plan wasn't working. Hifumi had intended to use Justice Hammer 4 to kill Mondo but after an hour, the killer decided to continue with their plan and tell Hifumi to kill Mondo when he was by himself. The reason that the killer wanted Justice Hammer 4 to be used was to create confusion about the order of the supposed crimes. Despite not accomplishing the first plan, the killer continued with there plan by falsifying two assault cases.
For these attacks, the killers pretended to be the victims, to solidify Robo Justice as the suspect... The first fake incident was the attack in the rec room. There, the killers wanted us to see Justice Hammer 1 and the Robo Justice pictures they'd taken. They wanted to make sure we bought the "surprise attack" story. The second fake incident was the attack in the library. This time, they planted Justice Hammer 2 and an "injured" Hifumi to sell us that story. With these two incidents, the killers were able to create a certain preconception in our minds... That the suspect was increasing the size of the hammers and attacking people in order as they did.
We fell right into their trap and started looking for the suspect based on that, but... while we did that, we left Hifumi alone in the nurse's office. This was exactly what Hifumi was hoping for. He took a blood pact from the refrigerator and Justice Hammer 3... and turned the room into another "assault." knowing that nobody had died yet. He made it seem like he was still alive but received more "injuries" compared to when he was "assaulted" in the library. He let out a scream to draw us back, and when we returned that's when we found him, fortunately still alive. Meanwhile the one group went to the equipment room only to find the place emptied and mostly left untouched. The whole point of the groups splitting up was for the culprit to get Hifumi to kill Mondo in the nurse's office with Justice Hammer 3.
Once again Mondo joined me to tell those who were in the equipment room about Hifumi's condition, so once again the killer's plan was failing. Hifumi simply got up out of the bed where Mondo and I placed him and made his escape. When we learned his body disappeared, we all rushed back to the nurse's office. Hifumi had a chance at last. Since his plan to kill Mondo had failed again and again he decided to sneak off to the equipment room. He grabbed Justice Hammer 4, the tarp, and the dolly, and took them down to the second floor and went to the pool.
Once he was inside he pulled the Robo Justice costume out of the locker that was shoved inside. That's right, the plan to make Hiro the culprit wasn't working, so instead Hifumi took Hiro who recovered from being drugged, but Hifumi took a swing with Justice Hammer 4 and knocked Hiro in the back of the head into the deep end of the pool. However since the helmet of the Robo Justice costume protected Hiro's head Hifumi used his whole body and jumped on top of Hiro in the deep end and landed on top of him. After staying on top of him, Hifumi swam back up to the surface while leaving Hiro inside the costume to drown.
Once Hifumi confirmed that Hiro wasn't breathing and was completely drowned he pulled Hiro's lifeless body back up and put him back inside the locker. However little did he know that the bandages around his "injuries" slipped off and sunk into the deep end when Hiro was drowned. After that Hifumi figured out about the no accomplices rule and decided to kill the person he was working with. To do this he raced back to the equipment room and cleaned off the blood on Justice Hammer 4 and made his way to the repository to meet up with the person he was working with and murder them. When Hifumi arrived to tell the killer what happened, he likely told the killer that he drowned Hiro, and then assaulted the killer with Justice Hammer 4.
However even Hifumi didn't know what the true killer had in mind for the final act. Hifumi launched his attack with Justice Hammer 4, but only to have it land against the back wall of the repository giving a gigantic crack in the wall. While Hifumi was trying to regain his balance to try again, the true killer grabbed an unused everyday regular hammer to kill Hifumi. The true killer knew about the possibility of Hifumi's betrayal because their plan all along was to kill Hifumi and get rid of him in case a possibility like that happened. That should cover everything that happened in this case. And the villain behind it all is...Celeste! Sorry, you lose!"
With that Makoto finally brought this drawn out trial to an end. "I... lost? I lost..!? When was the last time... I was forced to utter such words? They hang heavy around my neck..." She says. "Then you admit it? You're the killer?" Makoto asks. "Hm. Heh... Listen to you, trying to take charge. As if you're my private instructor..." "Just give it up already, he's just been trying to save our asses, now answer the damn question." I interrupted. "Hm.. you must certainly enjoy being Makoto's lost stray puppy do you Mondo, you surely are stupid enough to be his bitch." Celeste says.
I was about ready to get away from my seat to yell at this loon some more when "I, Celestia Ludenberg... actually no... Taeko Yasuhiro is fine." So finally Celeste dropped that accent of hers and started talking like a normal person and her real name is Taeko. "Taeko..?" Makoto asks. "So, you've finally accepted it." Byakuya says. "I'm the kind of person, once I've lost, I don't like things to drag on." She says. Clearly she dragged things out but about half of us knew it was you for the start while the other half must have taken their stupid pills before this trial. It doesn't matter all that matters is that Celeste or Taeko or whatever the hell she wants to be called was responsible for the deaths of Hiro and Hifumi.
"Ok Monokuma, I'm ready to begin. Or no... I suppose this is the end, isn't it?" She says. So as usual Monokuma told us to do the same thing and vote for who did it, since unlike my bro Celeste showed no remorse or regret I had no hesitation and just voted for her. "It's basically a formality at this point, but once again you're totally correct! The blackened this time... the true killer who devised this whole stickin scheme, and the one who killed both Yasuhiro Hagakure and Hifumi Yamada was... Celestia Ludenberg! Or more precisely... Taeko Yasuhirooooo!" Monokuma shouts.
Sure enough for the third time all of us survived, well almost all of us. The first time I was shocked and upset, the second time I was in disbelief, but this time I'm just pissed. "I lost... well, that sucks." Taeko says. Why not since she finally dropped her fake as hell accent I might as well call her by her real name instead of that fake facade she's put up with for so long. "I guess trying to work with someone else was a mistake, after all. Hifumi's ineptitude and murdering Hiro instead of Mondo were beyond all my calculations." She says. "So you really did approach Hifumi with this plan? But how did you get him to agree? I can't imagine he would have happily agreed to commit murder. " Kyoko asks. "I'm sure she relied on her specialty... lying. Even Mondo said it himself." Byakuya says.
"My specialty? Don't make me laugh. I didn't have to lie to get him to agree." Celeste says smiling. "Then did you use... you know..." Kyoko asks. That's when I realized what Kyoko was talking about. "I knew you would figure it out Kyoko, however I'm sure even Mondo figured it out too even though he's a complete idiot. So yes to get Hifumi to act as my accomplice, I used her. For everyone who's still left, I'll avoid mentioning it by name, but... it was the one thing Hifumi and Mondo were both super into. " Celeste says. So right from when we learned the truth of this trial Hifumi wanted to kill because of Alter Ego.
"What? What what what? What are you guys talking about?" Monokuma says. "Don't interrupt. We're in the middle of a very important conversation here." Kyoko says. She basically said that without having me to step in. So while Monokuma bitches about how he's out of the loop when he does the same thing to us we got back to Celeste who basically stole alter ego for this half assed stunt and got Hifumi to go along with it. What she said next really pissed me off beyond belief especially since Celeste still had that calm smile on her face like she actually enjoyed it.
Basically Celeste went to Hifumi's room and basically told Hifumi I stole Alter Ego. She took a picture of me near Alter Ego and deleted the picture, so nobody knew other pictures were taken. That's not the end of it she told him that I forced her to steal it even though I never interacted with her once, she said I abused her, took the camera from her and took photos of her. "It was amazing how completely he bought it. Hmhm... I can't express how enjoyable that was." She said with that shit eating grin of hers. The worst about all of this she said that Hifumi would and I quote "Fucking kill me." It gets better. She continues by saying that I was trying to kill him the same way I tried to kill Chihiro and basically agreed with her plan to kill me. "Hifumi agreed without a second thought. Hmhm. The effect the item had on him was remarkable. The power of love... even a love as twisted as that can still drive people mad, it would seem." She says. "So because of his version of love you're saying he bought all that bullshit?" I asked.
"Indeed, plus with his resolve and weakened mental state he was gullible enough to even work with me to do it." Celeste says, smiling more. "You piece of shit!" I yelled. "I have another question for you. Was that strange costume Hifumi's creation as Mondo said during the trial?" Byakuya asks. "Yeah it was a real pain in the butt, too. All I asked him to do was make something to hide the face and general size body. I had no idea he'd make something like... that. But it's my fault for picking him in the first place." Celeste says. "Well before I ask my own questions, I gotta be the one to ask, why did you want Hiro to be the suspect?" I asked. "Because he was stupid." Celeste replies. "That's your reason for having Hiro killed?!" I shouted.
"Actually in regard to that I made the right choice, I'm glad his stupidity surpassed my every expectation. That being said I was disappointed that he was killed, as Makoto said Hifumi told me that he murdered Hiro just as a chance to throw me off guard and kill me, however since I had planned to kill Hifumi anyways he basically saved me the trouble. I'm sure his parents won't need to worry about him anymore." She says smiling. "D-Damn You!" I yelled. "But when you were explaining your plan to Hifumi, how did you explain the part about him playing dead?" Sakura asks. "What she's asking is, what was Hifumi supposed to do after that, assuming you had actually let him live?" Byakuya adds.
"That's simple. After he did his part and pretended to be injured, once someone showed up... I would have told him to say he was wounded and that he was on the verge of death and barley held on. Fortunately he said all that when we found him in the nurse's office." Celeste says. "And he really believed that?" Hina asks. "Well of course, that wasn't all there was to it. As I explained it to Hifumi, the plan was... While you were all questioning him about what had happened to him, I was going to murder someone else. At that point, Hifumi would have an alibi, so nobody could doubt him. I told him that, and he believed him." Celeste continued. As she was explaining I couldn't believe Hifumi fell for everything she said.
All I could think was Hifumi you goddamn moron why didn't you stop and think about what she said. She said that she matched the lie with her opponent but honestly I think she knew that Hifumi was the biggest idiot out of all of us here and he would believe anything she said and just like any idiot he took the bait. "So you had planned to kill him all along!" Sakura exclaims. "..But of course. Even if he had failed to kill Mondo I still would have killed him anyways. Besides there would have been no point to my plan if the one who pretended to be dead did not end up dead himself." Celeste continues with that shit eating smile and saying this stuff like it's funny.
Even Hina calls out on how much of a bitch she is for not caring about any of us here. "That's a non-issue. I simply did everything in my power to win." She replied. "I guess I was wrong all along, Byakuya wasn't the one we should have tied up and gagged, it should have been you, I can't believe you've become a female Byakuya in the end." I said. "No, he derives his pleasure from the thrill of the hunt. In that aspect, we are nothing alike." She says. I couldn't believe that even after all of this she's still trying to dodge the blame. "Then... what made you take things this far?" Kyoko asks.
"Was it... really for the money?" Hina asks. "To hell with money I have my own questions to ask this psycho bitch! For starters what was the point in killing two people you just left behind more evidence to you?" I shouted. "Hush Mondo the more intelligent people are talking right now. As for the ten million dollars Monokuma offered us, that is a lot of money, it's true. But that's not all there is to it. From the moment our new life here began, my only thought has been escape." She says. "So the loved ones, and your secret didn't do it, but the money did. Also aren't you the person that kept telling me and everyone else to adapt to this place and accept living here, now you're saying that you were going back on your own advice?" I asked. "OBVIOUSLY THAT WAS A LIE!" She screamed.
I was taken a back since she finally calmed down after the trial, but does she have some kind of other personality in her head. "I couldn't take it! I hated it from day one! More than anyone, anyone ANYONE ELSE IN HERE! I wanted to get out! Every day was fresh torture! And do you wanna know why? HUH?! Because... I had a dream. And explaining a life here would have meant nothing less than giving up on my dream forever... And there was no way... that I could ever do that. In the underground world of gambling, I risked my life to make a metaphorical killing. And it was all for that dream... To live in an European castle. " She explains.
I couldn't believe that she would have two people murder just for some dumb stupid as hell castle. "And to gather handsome men all over the world to serve as my butlers slash bodyguards. I was going to make them dress up like vampires and satisfy my every need. Once I obtained that, I would have created a perfectly aesthetic world of decadence... Living the rest of my life there was my only dream, my only goal... That's what life is all ABOUT! Combined with my own winnings, Monokuma's ten million dollars would have made that dream a reality. I got right to the edge, but... Unfortunately my dream has been scattered to the wind. Still, I don't have any regrets. I pursued my dream till the very end, so why would I?"
"You sound so passionate, but... you were really able to kill your own friends for it?" Hina asks, interrupting Celeste's monologue like she was reading a novel about herself. "Are you asking me to feel guilty? That is a pointless endeavor. I think nothing of sacrificing others for my own ends. I feel nothing. That's all there is to me. That's what makes me... complete. Hmhm... Isn't terrifying how different our values are? There's simply no room for understanding." She says laughing I finally couldn't take it anymore, so I had to know. "Th-that's what we should be saying. And plus..."
"Hold on Hina, before you ask her more questions there's something I need to ask this chick something first." I said stepping in. Hina calms down and looks at me as I walk towards Celeste. "Listen Celeste or Taeko or whatever the fuck your name is, I need to know. Why did you want me dead, and don't say it was for her. You say you have no regrets so you mean to tell me that the promise to my bro that you wouldn't kill anyone, and you said would trust after the last trial, and the lie you told Hifumi all this shit about that wasn't true, for what reason I didn't do anything to you!" I shouted. "THAT WAS BULLSHIT!" She yelled.
"YOU REALLY THINK I WOULD EVER HAVE TRUSTED OR AGREED TO A PROMISE FROM AN IDIOT SUCH AS YOURSELF! I did what I had to; it couldn't have been a lie of what I told to Hifumi. Even though I say Byakuya and I are nothing alike he was right not to trust you Mondo. You would have needed that money as badly as anyone here and you probably would have gotten someone close to get it the same way that happened to Chihiro. However the real reason I wanted you dead was your stupid ideal. I couldn't stand it anymore, promise this, bro that. You truly are an idiot through and through! Promises can't be kept in this environment! You know nothing about the reality of the situation when dreams and freedom are on the line, promises are worthless, I would have killed you myself if I had the chance to achieve my dream and you would have to tell Taka his sacrifice was nothing in the afterlife. That's why I wanted you dead and why I never ever forgave or trusted you from the start, I just wanted your stupidity gone!" Celeste screams.
The more she talked the angrier I got. "If you weren't a girl, I swear I would have broken your face right about now! You never trusted me, and you killed Hiro and Hifumi for nothing, YOU SON OF A BITCH!" I yelled. I was about to go up and just punch this heartless bitch in the face myself. "It doesn't really matter anymore Mondo. My ability to lie is unrivaled, and I take pride in that. Besides, it's pointless to do that, since I'm the blackened after all. I don't fear death. Kill me however you want. Though if I wish to be reincarnated I wish to come back as Marie Antoinette." She says. "So that's why you're so freakin calm about all this, well how about I give that bear a head start..."
"There's no need for that." Makoto grabbed my arm. He pointed me to Celeste's face as she tried to force a smile. In the end she was just as scared as the rest of us were. "You all done? Okay then let's get rollin'! The blackened disturbed the peace and must pay the price!" Monokuma calls out. "Now then I've prepared a very special punishment for... her! The Ultimate Gambler! Let's give it everything we got! It's... PUNISHMENT TIIIME!"
"I guess I'll let Kyoko hold onto this." Celeste walked up and gave Kyoko something: it was a key that looked like one of the lockers to the bathhouse with the number seventeen. "Will it really give you the hope you're looking for? I can't say I ever saw it that way... Which is why... Actually, it's not important. Well then... take care, everyone. Perhaps we'll meet again, in another life." Celeste picks up her dress and bows giving us one last smile. "Oh and Mondo... I'll apologize to Taka once I see him." She says. I didn't care what she had to say anymore so I didn't say anything.
Sure enough Monokuma pulled out his hammer and smashed the big red button. Like before the chain grabbed Celeste around her neck and dragged her away. As a gate is put up in front of the people who are still here. We see Celeste holding her hands tied up in front of a stake as a giant stage is built around her, some grass was in front of her and Monokuma's wearing bags over their heads or something like a castle and some buildings behind her. She just has a smile on her face as a bagged Monokuma pulled out a torch and proceeded to set the grass on fire. Sure enough I thought for once we would get a normal execution. As the fire got closer and closer Celeste just kept her smile going. Even as the stage caught fire and she proceeded to be engulfed in flames. Even as the sweat came down her face it seemed like she was going die in peace... then suddenly a firetruck comes right the fuck out of nowhere and goes at like 80 miles an hour, and a ramp pops up. The truck goes up the ramp and as it rides it gets closer and closer. The last thing I heard was Celeste screaming at the top of her lungs until it went silent as the truck made impact against her body crashing and destroying the stage. After a Monokuma used a hose to blow out the torch it was over. She was scared after all, when dust cleared the Ultimate Gambler Celestia Ludenberg, Taeko Yasuhiro or whatever the hell she wanted to be called... is dead.
The whole thing felt kind of weird, part of me felt like she deserved it because of what she did and said she felt no remorse for me, but at the same time she was still a friend and the same thing with Hifumi too. "Isn't it just awful? Someone couldn't cut free of their regrets from the outside world, so more people had to die... you guys are still young! You need to place more value on your lives! Jeez... and here I thought Taka said that you were going to pass the torch of hope for the next generation!" Monokuma says. "Oh shut up, my bro didn't say anything like that, so don't stand there twisting his words like that." I said.
"You're all the embodiment of hope, whether you like it or nor. And it's my destiny to knock you down one by one." Monokuma says grinning. "That reminds me, she never answered my question before she died, but was it really necessary to kill two people?" I asked. "Well the trial is over so it doesn't matter but for future cases no it wouldn't matter you just need to kill one person. It's sad really it could have been avoided. But that reality just can't be avoided." Monokuma says. "Don't talk like you're not responsible... How long are you gonna make us keep going through this?! What do you want from us!?" Makoto shouts. "God, I'm so sick of people asking that! Give it a rest already!" Monokuma retorted. "No we ain't givin it a rest because you started this shitty joke to begin with, how about you get off that throne of yours and I'll throw you into that wreckage over there." I said. "Oh stop yelling already it really doesn't do good for your voice. Anyways... Kyoko, did I see you get some kind of key-type object from Celeste? So uh... what's the deal with that?"
"Hey, she doesn't have to tell you shit! You kept your own damn secrets and being cryptic so why the hell do we need to do the same?!" I shouted. Kyoko stepped forward and put her arm on my shoulder. "I'll answer your question, if you answer mine. What did you do? What did you... do to me? Answer me what did you do to my body?" Kyoko asks. "Uwaaah! Oh man, oh jeez... Oh man, oh jeez! What do you mean, what did I... do?! I-I have no idea..." "Listen you sadistic fucker if you did something to this chick I'm seriously going to wring your neck!" I shouted. "Expect I don't know anything about it..." Monokuma replies.
I wanted to get up to him, but Kyoko held me back. "There's no point in arguing with him Mondo." She says calmly. With that Monokuma decides to leave while telling us to enjoy our school life even though he probably jacks off to seeing us murder each other. After Monokuma left Kyoko began talking to Makoto and she said the key to the lockers to Alter Ego most likely. "Celeste probably hid it there." Byakuya says. With that we all decide to go back to the locker room and see if Celeste was keeping true about hiding Alter Ego.
We all got back on the elevator. I looked back at the courtroom and then to the elevator. As the elevator went back up we now have less than half the people we started with, the only people who are still here after the trial are Makoto, Hina, Sakura, Byakuya, Toko, Kyoko and myself. It hasn't really dawned on me how many people have died because of this ordeal but the only thing we can do now is just to keep moving forward and not look back in regret.
As the elevator headed back to the first floor we all went into the bath house. "I'm going to go alone from here." Kyoko says. Everyone else head to the Dining hall. I'll check in with you later." Kyoko says. "Why, exactly, are you going alone?" Byakuya asks. "Do you even have to ask?" Kyoko replies. "That's not what I mean. Why you? There's still the risk of a spy, you know." Byakuya replies. "Dude could you stop mentioning a spy, there's been enough murder for one day, if you want still believe in treating this like a game and say one of us is a spy save it for tomorrow. I don't have the energy to deal with you anymore." I said. "Wait I'll go too." Makoto says. The two started to argue back and forth until Byakuya decided to leave.
As Byakuya was walking away all I could do was flip him off while he wasn't looking. "Listen Makoto I trust you and Kyoko all right, I'll wait for you in the dining hall all right? And Kyoko, you haven't forgotten about my promise did you?" I asked. "Of course not, I'll let you know when it's safe." She replies. "Cool so I'll be at the dining hall if anybody needs me." I say as I walk to the Dining because it's all I can really do.
Sure enough everyone was already at the dining hall, even Byakuya and Toko. I went to my usual seat and put my legs on the table. I took a deep breath and sighed. The words that Celeste said about not trusting me was like a punch in the gut, and it hurt my pride that Hifumi believed all the lies she told him too. "Hey Mondo, do you want to sit with me and Hina?" Sakura asks. "Sure it's safer than hanging out with those two." I said.
I got up and sat in between Sakura and Hina as they were having tea and coffee. "You seem stressed Mondo, you can have my tea I'll get more." Sakura says. She got up and went to the kitchen to make more tea. "Thanks." I took a sip of the tea and it tasted like tangerines. I took a while to let the tea set in, it was a little awkward at first I didn't know how to get the ball rolling. "So Mondo, how are you feeling? I admit you and Makoto were pretty cool during that trial." Hina says smiling. "Thanks, I wasn't perfect but if I wanted to keep my promise to my bro, so I had to think really hard, even if it was Makoto who had the majority of things under control." I said.
"Still you were really trying your best... sorry to change the subject but speaking of promises how are you feeling about what Celeste said to you?" Hina asks. I took a deep breath as I put my cup down. "Well I'm not gonna lie but I don't know what I feel. Part of me feels that she was just scared and afraid like the rest of us, but at the same time the fact that she said that she never trusted me hurt me, and while she was our friend I just felt like she deserved it." I said. "Even if it does hurt that doesn't mean you can say something like that to our friend." Hina says. "Yeah I know but it just angers me that she went that far to try and get me killed after she said that she would trust me." I said.
Sakura comes back with protein coffee and takes her seat. "It's sad Hina but you can't blame him for that circumstance, there's been enough doubt within us. It's true that she didn't show any remorse for what she did, she was still afraid. The only thing we can do now is move forward from here." Sakura says. I took a sip from my tea as I looked at her. "Sounds like you know a lot about this kind stuff." I said. "Let's just say I know what it's like to be betrayed. Celeste is gone, there's no point in dwelling on it anymore, all we can do now is honor her memory and continue to find a way out of here." Sakura says. "So I'm glad to hear you two understanding each other, but speaking of two are Kyoko and Makoto back yet?" Hina says changing the subject, yet I look at her as she blushes bright red.
"Well thanks for asking how I'm doing Hina but are you alright?" I ask. "He's right Hina you look bright red in your face, are you having a fever?" Sakura asks. "No, no it's not that it's just that Makoto and Kyoko have been gone for a while you don't think that... you know there..." Hina says nervously. "I don't see how Kyoko would show her emotions to anyone, not even Makoto, besides Makoto had a thing for Sayaka right?" I asked. "That may be true however, Sayaka has already passed on so Makoto has more options to choose from." Sakura says. "Well, I was just thinking...Mondo you've spent a lot of time with Makoto do you think he's interested in anyone here despite this predicament?" Hina asks. "Shit I don't know I haven't asked him yet." I said.
"Hina, are you starting to have a crush on Makoto?" Sakura asks. I spit out my tea when I heard Sakura of all people suggest something like that. "What, no that's just ridiculous, I mean it's not like I'm jealous that Makoto is spending time with Kyoko or anything?" Hina continues to fidget and can't sit still. "Jesus now it's clear you have a thing for him." I said. Suddenly there was a ding dong going off and sure enough it was Monokuma giving the nighttime announcement.
"Well whatever Kyoko and Makoto are doing it will have to wait until tomorrow." I said. Sakura got up as she put the dishes in the wash. "Hey Sakura, you want to go for a late night workout tonight?" Hina asks. "I appreciate the offer Hina, however I have some business I need to attend to, I can't ignore it." Sakura says. "Well what business is that, if you want to do some training I'll go to your room." I said. Sakura turns around and smiles. "I appreciate the offer, but I prefer to do my training alone, you've been helping Makoto with some training, why don't you have a workout with Hina?" Sakura asks. "Well that's nice and all but how would that work if we're both in separate locker rooms?" I asked. "I think it's a good idea, it will be a nice change of pace, plus I need to burn off some weight anyways, I just feel like I'm getting fat." Hina says. "You seem fine to me, it's not like you're three hundred pounds or anything." I said. "Hey what's that's supposed to mean?!" Hina shouts. "You two have fun, I'll see you all tomorrow." Sakura says as she leaves the dining hall.
With that it was nighttime, and we were about to head off to the locker room when I turned around. "Um actually Mondo, I know Sakura recommended maybe training but I'm not really up for it tonight. It's just we lost three friends in one day and I can't burn all my troubles away." Hina says. "Hey, you don't have to force yourself to do something you don't want to, tell you what let me know when you're good and ready and I'll talk to Makoto about it, and I won't mention the big crush you have on him." I say. "Don't be like that, just keep it under wraps ok?" Hina looks at me with her kitten type eyes and I smile. "Ok Mondo have a good night." She calls out.
I honestly can't help but crack a smile because in a way Hina is starting to be like a little sister I never had, and I guess Sakura could be an older sister in a sense. So I guess I did feel a little better. This would be the only way to get my mind off what happened and all the stuff that Celeste said. So I went back to my room, picked up a water bottle and got some fresh clothes to change into when I'm done. As I headed out the door I heard a loud Ga-shunk noise. "What the hell was that?" I asked. I thought I was losing my mind and I thought I was hearing things, but it was just the possibility of being murdered was getting to me. I brushed it off and went upstairs to the second floor.
As I reached the second floor I heard a very loud noise. "Ok what the shit is that?" I said. I honestly was starting to lose my mind a bit but I was on the second floor and I had to get all of this negative crap out of me, so I continued to the locker room. Knowing Byakuya he would be in the library, so I know nothing is going to happen. I was about to go to the locker rooms and pull out my handbook when there was another loud crashing sound. "Ok fuck this shit what is going on up there?" I heard the noise from the third floor, and I bolted up the stairs figuring out what all that noise was about.
As I got to the top of the floor I saw someone coming out wearing a freaky as hell mask run out of the boys bathroom. "Hey asshole stop!" I yell. But it was no good the masked freak ran like a car and darted away. I didn't have time to catch up, and suddenly I became curious what was from the boys bathroom. I took a peek inside and saw that the storage closet was open and inside was a secret passage and Makoto lying on the ground. "Owwww." He said.
"Yo Makoto are you alright man? What happened to you?" I asked. "Makoto looked up at me as he looked around in a secret room with a table and a bookshelf with no books. "Mondo, how did you get here?" he asked. "I could ask you the same thing, how the hell did you find this place?" I asked. Makoto slowly got back up and started looking around the room. "Gone... It's all gone!" "Whoa, whoa, slow down man, what the hell is going on?" I ask. "It's just this room had yearbooks and student registries and a note on the floor..." Makoto was clearly panicking. I grabbed a hold of him to see why he was acting like that.
I touched his head. "Oww, that hurts Mondo!" He shouted. "Sorry man, come on remember what we talked about... take deep breaths and tell me what happened." I said. "Let's go back to my room, I just need to sleep off the pain." He says. Makoto holding his head slowly walked back to his room. "Hey, wait up man, you're not going back by yourself. Here take my hand I'll bring you back ok?" I said. Makoto nods as he couldn't speak. His body was weighing down on my shoulder but by some fuckin miracle I managed to get him to the first floor.
His body suddenly collapsed to the floor. "Take it easy Makoto, tell you what, Monokuma never said the nurses office was locked so how about I go find some bandages and..." Suddenly there was a distant sound coming from the distant not too far from here. "That sound..." "Well we can't just leave it alone right? We promised that we would stick together so I'll go with you." I said. Makoto smiled as he weakly got up. "Thanks Mondo, ok it looks like it came from the gym." Makoto points.
I take Makoto by the arm as the two of us walk over to the gym. Just like Makoto said the noise from the gym got louder and louder as we got closer it sounded like fighting was going on, but not a normal bare knuckle brawl, like an actual full blown fight was going on. I set Makoto down behind so he could at least see what was happening. I peeked opened the door hoping that the two of us weren't caught in the crossfire.
Once I got the door opened enough that both of us could see what we saw... was something I couldn't believe. It was Sakura fighting Monokuma with all her might. That's when I realized what she said earlier about some important business. This is what she was talking about... but why did she want to fight Monokuma alone? "Why you...! What do you think you're doing?! I asked you a question, "What is the meaning of this?! How dare you defy me! This wasn't part of the deal!" Monokuma said bitterly. Sakura refused to say anything but give a very intimidating death glare to Monokuma. Deal what the hell does he mean by that, I thought.
Finally Sakura spoke. "I've made a decision... I will no longer retreat, no longer compromise, no longer regret... I've made my decision! I'm going to resist you!" She says. While I do give Sakura credit for having the balls to fight Monokuma I thought back what happened to Junko and I didn't know what she was thinking. Get out of there you moron I thought. Fortunately Makoto and I didn't say anything because the fight I was seeing was like the stuff of legends were made of. Monokuma seemed to be fine with it when suddenly. "But...you do realize what will happen if you go through with this, right? You haven't forgotten have you? What I'm holding hostage...?" Monokuma says.
Suddenly Sakura hesitated and my impulses were ready to kick in and rush in, but Makoto grabbed me by the shoulder and shook his head. Then all the dots started to connect, the stuff Byakuya said about being a spy for the mastermind. That being said we couldn't stay long. I got up, grabbed Makoto out the door and got right the hell out of there. Once we got to the dorms Makoto was still weak from the blow he took to his head. I pulled out his dorm room key and opened his door.
Once we were inside Makoto's room I laid him down on his bed and sat down on his desk in a sigh of relief. This has been a very twisted day, first we lost Hiro, Hifumi and Celeste in another murder, and now Sakura being a spy for the mastermind this was too much take in for just one day but I'll let Makoto rest and figure out what to do from there, all I know is that if the others find out, Hina will break down, and Byakuya will rub it in our faces, I can't let that happen no matter what, I won't let anyone else here die.
