Chapter 8 That's Why the Litten is a Scamp!
Ash and Golly are now heading to school after leaving their home, along the way, they spot a Litten, who is staring at them. Rotom says, "That's a Litten!"
"It seems we've seen it a couple of times since we got here, haven't we?" Ash asks.
"Yeah..." Golly nods.
"Litten, the Fire Cat Pokémon. A Fire type. Litten shows few emotions and prefers being alone. It takes time to build any level of trust." Rotom says.
Litten approaches Ash affectionately, and Ash asks, "What's the matter?"
Litten mutters, "Hungry..." While continuing to nuzzle Ash's leg. Golly says, "It seems like it is hungry."
"If that's the case, maybe I should share my lunch with Litten..." Ash says as he takes out a lunchbox, showing a croquette sandwich, after pulling a smart part apart, Ash says, "Here, have a bite."
But Litten goes for the other big part that was meant for Ash. Ash says, "Hey!"
Ash grabs Litten's tail, but Litten retaliates with Fury Swipes and runs off as Pikachu accidentally shocks Ash with Thunderbolt. Rotom tries to stop Litten but is kicked away as Litten makes his escape.
"My Sandwich..." Ash mutters.
"It is a good thing that Jane prepared two for you, huh..." Golly sighs.
"But there is only one now..." Ash frowns. "It is unforgivable..."
Later on at school, Ash fills his classmates in about his encounter with Litten. Mallow says, "So you met the Litten, it often comes to us and asks for food. When it does that, it is so cute!"
Lana also agrees with Mallow, and she says, "You just want to give it everything."
"But we don't like our food being taken away." Golly says. "That's for sure..."
"Though it's always by itself." Lana says.
"Litten doesn't like having to deal with others." Sophocles says. "They don't even really become attached to their trainers. That's why they're called the hardhead Pokemon."
"And I was just explained that earlier." Rotom says.
"But still, the Professor has to make it the Fire Type Starter Pokemon in Alola." Lillie adds.
"I guess you could call it a lone-wolf Pokemon. It shows up at our cafeteria a lot, though." Mallow says.
"I have seen it in the marketplace too." Kiawe says. "It takes all the fruit it wants."
"But it is so cute and you can't hate it." Mallow adds.
"So brother, what should we do with that Litten?" Golly asks.
"I'm going to teach him a lesson by capturing it." Ash says. "He'll be sorry to mess with us."
"What?" Everyone exclaims in shock.
After school, Ash, Golly, and Lillie are walking around the marketplace as Lillie asks, "Are you sure you'll find that Litten here?"
"Even if he's not here, I will also want to get some food to eat as well for my missing lunch." Ash says.
"But you still have that one sandwich..." Golly says.
Just then, they find the Litten and they chase after it, only to find it missing. An old lady named Anela says, "May I help you?"
"Um...we're looking for a Litten." Ash says as he spots the Pokemon. Both of them are glaring at each other as Anela says, "No need to be so angry."
Golly notices that the woman is giving Litten a berry, and she asks, "Are you going to give it to him?"
"The graces of nature is something that should be shared." Anela says. "Take your time eating it."
After Litten leaves, Lillie asks, "Does that Litten come here a lot?"
"It does! This is his daily routine." Anela says. "It feels like it's just checking up on me. So whenever it comes, I give it some fruit. By the way, young boy, did that little one happen to take your food?"
"That's right. He took my lunch so I have nothing to eat." Ash says.
"Didn't you still have that one Sandwich?" Golly asks.
"1 isn't enough for me." Ash replies as both Golly and Lillie sigh.
"Though I don't know where it lives...but it's not a bad Pokemon." Anela says.
Ash and the others can only sigh as they leave the market, hoping that they will be able to find Litten tomorrow.
"I can't believe you have Jane prepare you the third sandwich." Golly says.
"Good thing I've explained the situation, and she is willing to help us out." Ash says.
"But you've not seen it and you still left one in your bag." Lillie comments.
After school, Ash, Lillie, and Golly are discussing while walking on the road, and then they notice Litten with a Berry in its mouth. It is being cornered by the Persian on the edge of a cliff.
"Is that a Persian?" Golly asks, "I heard that it has Alolan Forms..."
"Alolan Persian is a Dark Type Pokemon, and it has a cruel and cunning personality." Rotom says.
"That means Litten might be in trouble." Lillie says.
"Stop it!" Ash rushes towards Litten and Persian, Persian manages to slash Litten, causing some pain.
Ash asks, "Do you really have to go that far over a piece of fruit?"
Persian launches an attack on Ash before turning back to Litten. Ash has Pikachu attack with Electro Ball which Persian dodges before launching another attack. Pikachu hits back with Thunderbolt which sends Persian running.
Litten goes to leave, and Rotom says, "He has suffered 90% health loss..."
"Litten, don't push yourself." Ash says, but Litten tries to struggle, only to fall down with pain.
"Let's go to the Pokemon Center, Litten." Ash says while holding the cat, Litten tries to struggle, but in vain. "I...have to...give it..."
"You won't be able to give the fruit if you are injured like that." Ash says while carrying the cat Pokemon, and Rotom holds the berry while the others are following them.
Later at the Pokémon Center, Litten is given a Heliolisk collar. Golly asks, "What does this thing do?"
Nurse Joy replies, "It is made so it doesn't lick its wounds."
"I see..." Litten says.
Nurse Joy turns to Ash and says, "And the next one is you, Ash. You're all scratched up as well."
"Sorry about that..." Ash says, but Litten still wants to deliver the berry, so they chase after it and rush past Kiawe and Charizard.
"Sorry, Kiawe!" Lillie adds while she and Golly chase after Ash and Litten.
"Is he getting payback for the sandwich yesterday?" Kiawe asks with confusion.
Litten attempts to jump through a fence but the collar prevents it from squeezing through. Ash picks Litten up and insists it listens to him. "You can't move around when you're in pain. If you're not going to listen..."
Then after a while, Ash and Golly bring Litten back to the mansion, Aurora asks, "So that's why you brought it home?"
"Can't I just keep it here for tonight?" Ash asks.
"But surely, Ash. Just look at yourself." Aurora sighs. "You are being scratched..."
"Nurse Joy managed to apply for some medicine on it, all I need to do is not let the wounds touch anything else." Ash says.
"But still..." Golly sighs.
After dinner, Ash notices Litten's frustration at the collar and takes the collar off. Golly asks, "What are you going to do?"
"I'll take the collar off." Ash says while taking off the collar, "But you can't lick yourself."
Litten says, "I won't..."
"So you want to deliver the berry to who?" Ash asks.
Litten is surprised to learn Ash can talk to Pokemon, and Ash just has Litten on his lap. Ash says, "It is getting late to walk out alone. I promise that we'll give the fruit to whoever you want to give tomorrow. You just need to trust us a bit more. You're amazing at doing this all by yourself. People like the old lady in the market are here for you."
Golly says, "Your sparks are pretty strong as well."
Then they realize Litten has fallen asleep, and Golly sighs, "I guess it is getting late, we should have some sleep."
"Yeah, good night..." Ash says.
Ash has Litten sleep in his room, but during midnight, Litten wakes up and notices Ash's sleeping, and he tries to take the berry and gives it to Stoutland. But Ash already notices it and he rushes to chase after Litten with Pikachu and Rotom together.
"Didn't I just tell you to rest at night and we'll give the berry to your friend tomorrow?" Ash asks.
Rotom says, "In order to recover, the best thing for it would've been staying in bed and not moving."
Then they arrive at the old house and goes inside where Stoutland is asleep on the sofa and Litten gives Stoutland the berry. Ash enters and he says, "It's a Stoutland..."
"And it looks pretty old..." Rotom adds.
"So this is your friend that you want to give food to..." Ash says while turning to Stouland. "Sorry that it was late. Stoutland, this guy got hurt in a battle, so I let it rest up at my place for a bit."
Stounland can only nod, as Ash turns to Litten, "Litten, I thought I'd try to catch you, but now that I've seen this, I'll give up on it. We'll be heading home. Next time, I'll bring food for you. Is it okay that we come back?"
Before Litten can answer, they all sense someone approaching, and as they look around, they find the same Persian from before.
"Everyone, get outside!" Ash yells while dodging the attack. Rotom says, "It's here for revenge!"
"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!" Ash commands, and Litten also goes for Ember, but Persian dodges both attacks. When it charges at Stoutland, Ash quickly jumps in front of them and goes for Protect, much to everyone's surprise.
"Don't worry, we'll not let it hurt you."
Persian tries to attack Litten who dodges and retaliates with Ember. But the attack proves to be ineffective as Persian simply breaks it apart with its claws. Stoutland barks at Litten to use a more powerful Ember as it did previously when training. Litten begins to gather fire energy on its back which creates an Ember large enough to send the Persian running away with its tail on fire.
"Nice work, Litten." Ash says, but still wincing in pain from the wounds before.
"I guess everything turns out fine. Too bad you couldn't capture it." Rotom says.
"I know, but it is for the best." Ash says as they bid farewell to Stoutland and Litten.
The next day, Ash and Golly arrive at the mansion, and Golly says, "I still can't believe you leave me out of the fun yesterday..."
"Sorry, you were asleep and I wouldn't want to wake you up." Ash says.
But just as they arrive at the mansion, they find that no one is there as they might have changed their locations.
"I wonder if it is my fault..." Ash frowns after seeing Stoutland and Litten leave, but then they hear the voice and Litten is in front of them.
"So Litten, you found a new place to live?" Ash asks.
"Yeah." Then Litten nods before leaving with the fruit, much to their confusion and they can only sigh.
"Now what?" Golly asks.
"We'll just place the food here, Litten will come and take them to their new hideout." Ash says as they leave.
And here is a new chapter, as you can see, this is the Litten chapter. I hope you like it and the next chapter will be Lillie and her egg, which is one of the most exciting chapters that I'm going to write.
