Gin paused his stride down the hall mid step and tilted his head to the side. Reiatsu laced with excitement was fast approaching him from behind, and as he turned, his eyes opened and widened in shock at the stampede heading his way. Of course it was headed by none other than the lieutenant of the 5th division and Rangiku.

"Gin! Get her! I want berry to meet my taichou first!" Rangiku's murderous voice startled him, and he watched, unable to process what she was saying. Momo flew past him with a triumphant squeal of delight just as Rangiku flew into him, grabbing him by the white haori and shaking him vigorously.

"Ran-chan!" He complained, letting his smile stretch wide as she huffed at him in irritation, dropping him in favor to follow Momo into Aizen's office. He followed behind dutifully, the smile never leaving his face as he slink in to stand by a wall. He watched as Momo waved one hand around animatedly, a large smile on her face.

"Oh Taichou!" The way she said it made an unpleasant shiver go down Gin's spine. The poor helpless thing, so unaware of the wolf in the sheep's clothes that was in front of her.

"Look!"

Gin peered around to get a better view as Momo unwrapped something she was holding, and he tilted his head in confusion. A baby?

"It's Kyoraku taichou's son!" Momo went on to explain, her smile never faltering as she looked back up towards her captain.

There was the slightest twist in Aizen's reiatsu, something he doubted anyone else but him could feel, and it felt pleased. Gin snapped his attention away from the baby and to Aizen, his belly filling with dread even as the captain put on a show of warm bewilderment. Whoever this boy was, it made Aizen happy, and Gin knew that anything that made Aizen happy was undoubtedly a terrible thing.

"Oh my," Aizen spoke in a low, deep voice. His brown eyes pinned on the baby that stared up at him with a tilt of his head. Aizen reached out and Momo, the silly girl, handed over the child and cooed at the image they made. Gin was somewhat revolted, idly wondering if the man's taint could infect the soul of innocence that he held. He watched, forcing his breath to remain even as Aizen reached forward and stroked orange hair that looked feather soft, a genuine smile that showed his teeth erupting on his face.

"His name?" Aizen looked towards his lieutenant who seemed dazed at seeing his smile, and Rangiku spoke up from her left.

"His name is Ichigo."

A flash of recognition struck Gin as he remembered Aizen's prior anger and a bloody house with three bodies. He clenched his hands inside the fold of his haori, watching as the smile widened even further on the traitor's face.

"Wonderful"

Gin was going to be sick.

Yamamoto watched as Rangiku made haste towards her division, a wide smile on her face. She ran with her arms folded around her chest, carrying something close to her. He shook his head, wondering what Kyoraku was thinking in letting the SWA take care of the child. Even from here he could start to feel the slightly distressed reiatsu the boy was starting to emit, and it was his duty to ensure all under him were taken care of. Family especially.

He flashed down from his perch right in front of the woman, snapping his hand out to hold her shoulder when it would seen like she would trip. Her started 'soutaichou!' was cut off as she rocked back on her heels. She was looking at him with eyes so wide that the whites were visible all the way around.

Yamamoto removed his hand, casually leaning against his cane as he stared down at her and pointedly looked into her arms. She squirmed, shifting form foot to foot with a pout.

"Do tell why you are parading my grandson around in such a way?" He wasn't actually mad of course, he knew the woman, as rambunctious as they were, would never let anything harm the babe.

Rangiku paled and her mouth fell open, trying to form words and failing fantastically. He chuckled silently and motioned for her to hand him over.

After a moment where she gathered herself, she carefully shifted the bundle into his arms and he nodded at her, turning to walk back towards his division and leaving the stunned woman behind. He had no doubt that the rumor mill would explode before the end of the day.

Gin sat in the office chair with a relaxed ease he had practiced for decades, but inside he was as taunt as a piano wire. Aizen hadn't stopped smiling, and he didn't miss they way those dark brown eyes had followed Rangiku out the office with the baby. Whatever that boy was to Aizen's plan, it was not good.

"And here I thought a decade of planning had gone to waste." Aizen leaned back in his chair, removing his glasses and staring at the closed door. Gin tilted his head in curiosity, knowing the man would either continue or keep everything to himself as usual. To his surprise, Aizen deemed this information necessary for him.

"I want to keep an eye on him. He's quite special you see." Brown eyes slid over to him and Gin fought to keep the grin on his face steady. "The boy is a hybrid unlike what we have ever known, born naturally as well."

Oh, it was just as bad as he thought, if not worse. "An what's tha' mean?" H eof course knew what a hybrid was, but none had ever been born.

A smirk lined Aizen's face and he leaned forward on his desk, fingers tapping rhythmically as he hummed. "It means, that he is a combination of all species thus far. His mother a quincy, father a Shinigami, and with some meddling he also has a naturally born hollow in him."

Gin decided then, that no matter what, Aizen could not get his hands on that boy. Even if it meant he had to kill the baby himself. He steeled his heart against the thought, knowing that too much hung in the balance for his feelings to get in the way.

Gin forced his smile wider. "OOhh! Ya, I see. Gon' be kinda hard tho, since he's Shuni's son nd all 'dat!" And truly he hoped Shunsui loved the boy enough to watch his every step, because if he didn't Ichigo would most likely have to die.

"Hmm, he should be no problem." Aizen's haughty voice brought him no comfort.

Yoruichi scrambled through the gate, her paws finding purchase in the packed dirt of the human world. Without hesitation she burst into the shoten, her gaze frantic as she looked for Kisuke. Finally, she gave up and yowled loudly, forcing the man to come from wherever he was hiding.

"Yoruichi?" His soft voice startled her and she flipped around, meeting his shocked expression. They both knew she wasn't so easily snuck up on, but currently her mind was in a frenzy. Grey eyes held no hint of playfulness as he crouched down to speak to her.

"Yoruichi, what?"

"Aizen knows about Ichigo!"

The color drained from Kisuke's face as she spoke and he fell back on his butt, fan clattering to the ground. They both had known what Ichigo was, knew that Aizen probably also knew. After all, he was the biggest suspect in the murder of his family, though they doubted it had gone exactly as planned. And now…

"This-" Kisuke cut himself off and Yoruichi could see his mind racing, could see how his shoulders slumped and his lips tightened.

His grey eyes refocused and locked onto her own, "This is the worst outcome."

Yoruichi couldn't agree more.
