I currently had vampires on the brain by the time I was writing this, and this wouldn't leave my mind... plus I hadn't updated this story in awhile.

Also I just found out that you can't see the full moon during a thunderstorm. So I'll just write that off as something supernatural since this is about vampires.

Just so you guys know, I'm still pretty far behind in the Amphibia episodes, but I have seen the two episodes for the finale of the series. But just to clarify, this takes place long before any of that.

...

Somewhere in Amphibia...

The storm began to calm down within the night sky, and the full moon still retained its creepy emerald green glow once the clouds fully departed.

A black silhouette could be seen flying in the night sky, only being briefly illuminated by the green light of the moon to reveal that its the humanoid bat from earlier. It lets out a horrifying shriek as it continued to fly under the cover of darkness in search of prey.

It sniffed the air, and it picked up the scent of a toad down below. It also picked up the scent of something else. Something it had never smelled before in its entire life. It found the scent rather... delicious.

It soon flew towards the source of the enticing scent. Whatever it was, it wanted a taste of its blood...

...

Meanwhile...

In a rundown hut lies two individuals. One of them are toads, and the second member is a teenage human girl.

The toad is a male with an acid yellow green left eye, a light blue eye that appears to be blind with a scar going from the top of the eye to his lower jaw, and mossy green skin.

This is Captain Grime. One of the captains of the toad army. More accurately, Captain of the now destroyed south tower.

The teenage girl is caucasian of German/Slavic American descent, blonde hair in a ponytail, and a small scar on the right side of her cheek.

This is Sasha Waybright. Lieutenant to Captain Grime.

There was two other members named Percy and Braddock, but they left when Sasha didn't care for their safety when on a side quest to retrieve a war hammer, which belonged to a long since dead toad named Barrel the Brave.

Long story short, things got too intense for the two of them, and left.

Currently, the toad, and human, are gathering whatever stuff they left during their quest for the hammer in order to unite the other toad armies under their leadership. Which succeeded due to their efforts, but at the cost of their two toad friends leaving.

"Looks like the storm has finally let up. This'll make the trek back less of a hassle." Grime said.

"Finally! I'm already soaked enough as it is." Sasha said.

"I don't see what you're complaining about. It's only a little water." Grime said.

"Well there is such a thing as hypothermia, and I don't want to be out here for too long." Sasha pointed out.

"Touché." Grime said.

Not too long after, Sasha had finished packing the last of their weapons, and supplies.

"Ok, that's everything. Let's go." Sasha said, carrying the bag.

"Gladly." Grime said, hoisting the war hammer upon his shoulder.

As the two began their trek back to the north toad tower, a twig snapped, and the two are immediately on guard.

"What was that?" Sasha questioned.

"Something or someone's here." Grime whispered.

The bushes began to rustle. Someone or something is definitely here.

Suddenly, a herd of Hercules beetles came stampeding from the woods, and the duo barely dodged them in time.

Once the whole herd sped past them, the forest suddenly became deathly quiet.

"What do you think spooked them?" Sasha questioned.

"Shh!" Grime shushed her.

"What? What is it?" Sasha asked in a whisper.

"You hear that?" Grime asked back in a whisper.

"Hear what?" Sasha whispered back.

"Exactly. Nothing. It's deathly quiet. Which could only mean that something dangerous is here." Grime explained in a whisper, placing both hands on the hammer's staff.

Alarmed, Sasha withdrew her pink heron sword, and the duo stood back to back as their eyes darted around them.

The combative duo stood still as they scanned the woods for any movement, and listened intently for any sounds. They waited for anything to try, and catch them off guard. If it weren't for the deathly silence, the duo would've thought it was just them being paranoid. The Hercules beetle herd getting spooked, and the silence are clear reminders.

Another problem they were facing is that they have no idea what it could be that's out there. Sure it could be a giant bug, giant animal, or another animal amalgamation that exists here. They can definitely rule out giant heron, because they would've seen it beforehand. It could've been General Yunan looking for a rematch, a group of bandits, and it could be a group of cannibals.

However, they're soon about to be proven wrong on all accounts.

(Play Rise Of The Ancestors by Nox Arcana.)

As they kept their eyes peeled for danger, Grime caught a glimpse of something in the shadows of the trees. It could've been his eyes playing tricks on him, but that was until he briefly saw a pair of orbs glow red before suddenly vanishing in a near instant.

"I think I saw it!" Grime whispered to Sasha.

"What was it?" Sasha asked in a whisper, keeping her eyes trained on the woods around them.

"I don't know. All I saw was a pair of red glowing- LOOK OUT!" Grime suddenly yelled as a large figure launched itself out of the shadows so suddenly.

It tackled him to the ground, and the toad general caught a brief glimpse of sharp teeth about to clamp down upon him, but the creature was suddenly pushed back with a pain filled screech.

The creature was prevented from biting him, because Sasha had sliced at its face with her sword, and Grime used the distraction to slam the war hammer to the side of the creatures head.

The creature tumbled away from them, and Grime immediately got back on his feet.

"You ok, Grime?" Sasha asked.

"I'm fine. Thanks for the save." Grime said.

"Good. Now what the heck is this thing?" Sasha asked, getting into a fighting stance.

"Let's check, shall we?" Grime said, pulling out a mushroom from his pocket, and squeezing it.

The mushroom glowed in a blue light that's bright enough light up the area of the woods they're in. Once the light hit the creature, the duo saw just exactly what it is that tried to kill Grime.

What they see before them is a large white hairless humanoid bat with sharp teeth, a glowing red eye with a green pupil, and a gash across its face from Sasha's sword. The other eye was damaged from the sword slash.

It screeched angrily at them.

(Use the mummy screech for reference when he first meets Brandon Fraser after being revived).

"Oh my god! That's one fugly ass bat!" Sasha exclaimed in disgust.

Grime, however, felt his blood curdle from fear.

"That's not just any bat!" Grime said fearfully, dropping the mushroom.

"What do you mean?" Sasha asked.

"Look!" Grime said, pointing at the bat's bleeding wound.

The two watched in disbelief, or horror in Grime's case, to see that the gash had stopped bleeding, and was almost instantly healing. It healed without leaving a scar, and even the bat's eye had healed.

"What the heck?! It healed itself?!" Sasha exclaimed in shock.

She knows for a fact that bats don't have healing factors.

With its injury healed, the bat screeched at them while spreading its wings. It then suddenly turned into red smoke, and began to snake around them, creating a cloud of red surrounding them.

"What kind of bat is this?" She asked.

"A monster that's far worse than the herons." Grime said, getting into a battle stance with the war hammer.

"Which is?" Sasha asked, keeping her eyes on the crimson colored mist around them.

"A vampire bat!" Grime said.

"Wait, what?!" Sasha exclaimed in shock.

Suddenly, the bat monster charged through the mist it created, and nearly clamped its fangs down onto Sasha if she hadn't gotten out of the way in time.

The bat monster then jumped off of the side of a tree after charging, Sasha, and lunged towards Grime.

Grime swung the hammer with all his might at the beast, but the bat saw this coming this time, and turned into a cloud of red mist before the hammer made contact with it.

The mist snaked its way high above them before turning into the bat once more, and began to circle around them like a shark in the air.

"How are we supposed to fight this thing if we can't touch it?!" Sasha asked irritably.

"We can't. Even if we did like we did earlier, it'll just heal itself like nothing happened." Grime said fearfully.

"What?! Then how do we kill it?!" Sasha exclaimed, frustrated with the situation at hand.

"I have an idea. When I say run, you run!" Grime said.

"Wait, what about you?" Sasha asked her friend, feeling concerned for him.

"Trust me, I know what I'm doing." Grime said, reaching for something in the bag, and pulled out a boom-shroom.

Just then, the bat dive bombed for them with a screech, and Grime activated the boom-shroom.

"RUN!" He yelled before throwing the explosive mushroom at the bloodthirsty monster.

The duo took off running right before the mushroom exploded. Before the bat creature could react, the boom-shroom exploded in its face, blinding it temporarily, and it screeched from both pain and surprise.

The tiny bomb didn't hurt it, but the sudden bright light did indeed hurt its eyes, and the loud explosion pounded in its sensitive ears.

It struggled to keep itself stable in the air as the human, and toad ran for their lives.

"So this is the plan? Just keep running?!" Sasha questioned as she, and Grime ran through the woods.

"Temporarily so we can have some breathing room!" Grime said.

"Is it normal for vampire bats to do magic tricks, and heal fast?" Sasha asked.

"No, no it's not! Which is a serious problem!" Grime answered.

"Yeah, no kidding!" Sasha said.

The duo felt their blood go cold once they heard the blood curdling screech of the bat monster. It screeched again, and it sounded like it's getting closer.

"What do we do now?!" Sasha questioned fearfully.

"If we can distract it long enough, I'm might be able to-"

"AH!"

Grime is soon interrupted by a scream from Sasha, and immediately sees her being carried away by the bat creature, who grabbed by the shoulders with its talons.

"SASHA!!!" Grime cried out in shock and fear.

Sasha screamed as the beast carried her higher, and she struggled to get out of its grasp.

"GRIME!!!" She cried out for help.

"Hang on, Sasha! I'm coming!" Grime said, running after her, and the bat.

He leaped into the air, and onto a tree branch, then leaped to another one that's even higher. He kept doing this until he began hopping tree branch after tree branch after the bat. Once he got close enough, and high enough, he took a boom-shroom from his belt then threw it at the bat after activating it.

The boom-shroom went off on the creature's backside. The sound temporarily deafening it, and the smoke clouding it's vision for a few moments.

Those few moments was all Grime needed before he leaped onto the creature's back, and grabbed it by the ears like reigns on a horse.

"YOU! DON'T! TAKE! MY! FRIEND! YOU! BLOOD! SUCKING! BASTARD!" Grime yelled, ya king the ears of the bat painfully with each word.

Luckily for him, this action threw the bat off course, and began to fly around erratically. But it also proved to be a bad thing as Grime struggled to hang onto the beast's ears with a death grip.

"AH! AH! AH! AH!" Grime yelled with each swerve.

"AH! AH! AH! AH!" Sasha did the same thing as she was still being held by the bat's talons.

The bat screeched in frustration. This toad is proving to be relentless to the creature!

Then said toad grabbed another boom-shroom- WHERE IS HE GETTING THESE?!-, and threw it in front of it. The mushroom went off, blinding the bat once again, and Grime used this distraction to his advantage.

He hopped off of the bat's back, and shot his tongue at the creature's leg, wrapping around it before he fell too far away from it.

Grime pulled himself towards the underside of the bat with his tongue, and cocked his fist back. Once close enough, he landed the meanest punch he could towards its privates.

WHAM!*

The bat's eyes shot open, and it howled in pain. In doing so, it managed to let go of Sasha, and Grime, clinging onto the bat's leg, caught her before she fell any further.

Sasha held onto Grime on his back, and he leaped off the beast towards a nearby tree branch.

The bat took notice of this, but while it was distracted for a moment, it failed to see the incoming tree, and face-planted into the side of it.

Grime managed to get himself, and Sasha safely onto the ground.

"Thanks, Grime." Sasha said with relief.

"No problem. Now as I was saying, we just need to distract it so I can stab it in its heart with THIS!" Grime said, holding a sharp pointy tree branch.

"Good thing I snagged this on the way down." Grime said.

"A stick?! How's a stick gonna stop that monster?!" Sasha asked in a baffled tone, thinking that it was ludicrous.

"You'd be surprised. All I have to do is tie a silver dagger to it, and presto! We have a slayer's weapon!" Grime said.

"We don't have a silver dagger!" Sasha pointed out irritably.

"Oh... well I might as well use a silver coin as a substitute." Grime said, reaching into his pocket to grab a silver coin.

"Frog darn it! I don't have one. Oh wait! I can use my belt! I forgot that it's made of silver!" Grime said, taking his belt off.

Unfortunately, this caused his pants to fall off his waist a second later.

"Well this is embarrassing." Grime said, feeling embarrassed.

But it was short lived when they heard the angriest shriek they ever heard, and saw the bat creature hit the ground on all fours with a thud.

(Use the Diablos roar from monster hunter for reference.)

"I think he's pissed off." Grime said, not taking his eyes off of the angry bat monster.

"How do you know its a he?" Sasha asked, also not taking her eyes off of the bat.

"Because I punched his special area." Grime said.

The creature gave an angry shriek once more, his red eyes glowing so bright that they looked like lights within his skull.

"Tie the belt! Tie the belt!" Sasha said frantically.

"I'm tying! I'm tying!" Grime said, frantically tying the belt onto the stick the best he could.

Suddenly, the bat appears before them in a puff of smoke, and punched Grime square in the face!

The punch sent the toad general flying back in a comedic fashion. It would be funny if it weren't for the current situation at hand.

The bat snapped his head towards Sasha, and she nearly froze in fear, but she immediately went for her sword.

However, the bat stared at her dead in the eyes as his eyes glowed red, and green rings formed in his eyes in a hypnotic pattern.

Sasha froze before she could get her sword out.

The bat stared at her with a menacing unblinking gaze, and looked this new creature over until it seemed content.

"Present yourself to me, my prey." He ordered in a deep, growling voice that sounded almost demonic.

"Yes... master..." Sasha said in a trance.

She leaned her head to the side, presenting the bat her bare neck to him.

"Good~ Your sacrifice shall serve me well..." The bat purred.

The bat got closer to her, and bared his sharp teeth and fangs to his hypnotized victim, his mouth salivating at the thought of finally tasting blood for the first time in years.

But right before it could feast upon the human girl, Grime suddenly leaped out of the foliage, with no pants on, and stabbed the stick with his belt tied to it into the creature's back.

Grime gave a war cry while the bat screeched in agony.

Seeing that it could be the end for him, the bat decided on a last ditch effort to preserve his legacy.

He sinks his fangs into the human girl's shoulder, which causes the girl to snap out of her hypnosis, and scream in agony.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"

"SASHA!!!" Grime cried out.

With a combo of fearing for his friend's life, adrenaline, and anger, Grime manages to pierce his makeshift weapon into the heart of the bloodthirsty beast.

The bat wailed in agony, releasing Sasha from his jaws, and thrashed about wildly before standing upright, still shrieking like a banshee.

His wails of pain soon began to cease, and he began to fall back. Grime managed to let go of his makeshift weapon before the beast fell onto his back, and forcing the weapon through his chest even more.

Soon, the bat began to shrivel up like a mummy, and Grime appeared by his head with Barrel's war hammer in his hands. He hand the most angry glare as he gritted his teeth.

The bat turned his head, and croaked out his last words.

"I... already... won!" He managed to say, his voice going dry, and weak.

"Then allow me to give you a HEADS UP!!!" Grime exclaimed before he swung the hammer down onto the bat's skull.

The bat's head shattered into dust, ash, and bone. No blood remained due to finally drying out.

At last, the beast is dead.

(End of music)

After that excruciating ordeal, Grime ran over to his lieutenant's side.

"Sasha! Sasha, speak to me! Please!" Grime pleaded, his voice filled with worry.

Sasha groaned in pain as she held her shoulder, her blood seeping between her fingers.

"H-he bit me! He he b-bit me!" Sasha said fearfully, tears threatening to fall from her eyes as she looked into Grime's.

His eyes widened in fear when she moved her hand away from her wound, which continued to bleed.

"Oh sweet mother of toad. We've got to get you back to the tower! Now! But keep pressure on that until I find something to try and stop the bleeding!" Grime said.

Bet you thought I forgot all about this, did you?

Yeah, no. It's still going.

Anyways, response time!
