Epilogue:
Sierra stared blankly around the large hanger, her eyes seeing but not really taking in everything. The hustle and bustle of people moving around, many with varying degrees of injuries. With her basic knowledge of medical information, she probably could be helping the medics, but she was just so exhausted.
After the big showdown on Main Street, Sierra, Owen, and the others made the long trek to the docks before getting on a boat to the Costa Rican mainland, which is where they were now.
Owen and Barry were somewhere in the building, helping people get reunited with loved ones or making sure they had water or medical treatment. Sierra was sitting on a bench with Claire, Zach, and Gray. Claire was facing one way with Gray's head in her lap as he dozed off. Sierra noticed every time the boy drifted off, he would mumble, flinch, and jerk awake. He would likely have nightmares about the last 24 hours for years to come. Sierra and Zach were sitting by Claire, but facing the opposite direction. Sierra was so tired she didn't realize she was leaning her shoulder against Zach's, a blanket draped over her shoulders.
She was jostled suddenly as Claire turned to them. "Guys, it's your parents."
Sierra jumped, her head snapping around as a brief jolt of fear shot through her veins. Only to relax a moment later when she realized Claire was talking about Zach and Gray's parents, not her own.
She stood up, as did Zach and Gray, as a woman rushed through the crowd toward them. Her red hair, pulled into a bun, was a few shades lighter than Claire's. She instantly wrapped Gray into a tight hug, crying into his bushy hair while a man yanked Zach into a hug. Zach clearly took after his father in looks.
Sierra looked up at Claire, who appeared to be watching the reunion anxiously and on edge. Sierra wondered, from a younger sister's perspective, if Claire was both yearning to hug her sister while fearing her sister's wrath for putting Zach and Gray in danger.
Thankfully, the second theory seemed unlikely as the woman released Gray to pull Claire into a tight hug, the sisters crying into each other's shoulders.
The moment, while warm, was brief as Claire's sister moved back to her family to make sure Zach was okay, as well. Sierra stepped closer to Claire, briefly leaning against her in case she needed to be reminded she wasn't alone.
Claire looked down at Sierra and smiled, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and giving her a squeeze. They looked across the hanger, both spotting Owen helping some of the injured. He looked up at that moment, scanning the hanger before his eyes landed on them.
Sierra carefully stepped around and over dozens of injured people to make her away toward the middle of the hanger. Claire was following her, and they met up with Owen in the small path near the front door, bright sunlight shining in from outside. Owen tossed an arm around Sierra's shoulder when she was close enough, and she tiredly leaned against his side.
"So, what do we do now?" Claire asked tiredly.
"Probably stick together." Owen smirked slightly. "For survival."
Sierra smiled tiredly, and she noticed Claire's smile was on the shy side.
With the girls on either side, Owen lead them outside into the sunlight, figuring they could get some fresh air while they figured out their next steps.
Sierra had no idea what would happen now; she didn't even know what tomorrow would bring. Many of these people would get to go home to their families, but Sierra's home was back on the island. They didn't have a home to go to. But that wasn't as scary as it once was, because she knew she had her brother to help her through all of it.
And she wasn't worried about the raptors. At least, that's what she had to keep telling herself. They could hunt and take care of themselves, and they had each other. They would be fine.
And Sierra would see them again. It didn't matter what she had to do, Sierra wasn't going to leave them behind. They would see each other again, someday soon.
To Be Continued…
In Jurassic World: Beta
AN: Well, there's the ending of Jurassic World: Alpha. But as stated above, I'm writing the sequel, which will follow Fallen Kingdom. I have most of it written out, but I am open to suggestions. I've already read a few good suggestions that may or may not end up in the story, you'll have to read it to find out. One reviewer asked if I would be including Camp Cretaceous, and the answer is no. I've never honestly watched Camp Cretaceous, so this story just follows the movies.
I will post an additional "chapter" to this story in a week or 2 with a brief description of the sequel and to let you all know when it's posted.
Thank you to everyone who's read, reviewed, followed, and favorited this story, I love hearing from all of you! Let me know what you all thought of this story and what you're favorite parts were!
