"Okay, I'll go in first." Ash said, putting on his old traveling outfit.

"Scruffy." Flannery commented.

"Look, they might not be able to recognize me like this." Ash said.

"I don't like this idea." Brendan said.

"You don't have to do this if you don't want too." Wally assured. "We can go in and take a look around. Make sure everyone is okay, and if your dad is there, free him as well."

"Are you guys really okay with that?" Brendan asked, only to see his three traveling companions smirking at him.

"We get it. You don't want to risk your dads safety." Ash said.

"We'll handle things inside, and you can stay a safe distance away." Flannery said.

"And if they ask about you, we can say we went our separate ways." Ash said. "If things go sideways, I'll send you a quick message to get out of the way before they see you."

"Thanks guys, this means a lot." Brendan said, wiping a tear away.

"Don't worry about it." Wally said. "You'd do the same for us if the roles were reversed."

Back outside the first floor of the Weather Institute

"Guys, we have a problem." Ash said, keeping low to the grass.

"They have outside guards." Wally realized. "I've got this. Once I have their attention, go on in." Wally said, walking forward.

"You know there was a time I'd be worried about that." Ash admitted. "That time is long gone."

"Alright you guys, we can do this the easy way, or the hard way." Wally said, walking up with confidence.

"Look at this, some kid thinks he can play superhero." A large man in the Team Aqua uniform said with a laugh, lightly nudging his cohort. "Let's show him what happens to people like that. Quagsire come out!"

"Let's go Feraligatr!"

"Big guys." Wally said, stepping back. "But if you're Team Aqua, then they're probably water types. Cacturne, Roselia lets go!"

"Quagsire use Hydro Pump!"

"Feraligatr use Ice Beam!"

The two attacks combined, shooting out towards Wally's grass types.

"Cacturne use Sandstorm! Roselia use Petal Dance!"

Dirt and petals whipped around, obscuring Wally and his Pokemon, allowing them to avoid the attack. Out of the corner of Wally's eye, he could see Ash and Flannery sneak into the building.

"Cacturne use Needle Arm! Roselia use Mega Drain!"

Wally's Pokemon launched forward, Roselia draining the energy completely from Quagsire as Cacturne knocked Feraligatr to the ground completely defeated.

Inside the building

"Flannery, take Pikachu and go on ahead." Ash said.

"What do you mean?" Flannery asked, before seeing another trio of Team Aqua Members going through the computers.

"Don't you need Pikachu?" Flannery whispered.

"Not as much as you." Ash said. "You specialize in fire types, but you also are the least known ally of Brendan." Ash reminded. "So once the coast is clear, go on ahead."

"Okay, be careful." Flannery said, giving Ash a quick kiss for luck.

"Masquerain use Mist." Ash said, filling the lower floor with the fog.

A series of screams were heard from within the mist. Flannery took the opportunity to run ahead with Pikachu.

"Alright Masquerain use Gust!" Ash called out, watching as the three Poochyena tumble backwards, as the mist whipped around them, clearing the area. "Lunatone come on and help out!"

As the fog cleared, Ash turned his cap around, a serious look on his face.

"Lunatone use Ice Beam!" Ash called out.

The mist in the air thickened as it rapidly cooled, slowing the Poochyena down in the colder air.

"Poochyena use Bite!" All three trainers commanded.

Lunatone spun around, knocking the three Pokemon backwards with ease.

"Now Lunatone use another Ice Beam!" Ash commanded, freezing trainer and Pokemon alike to the ground.

On the top floor

Flannery looked over the desk to see a single Team Aqua member holding the hostages along with a Pokemon she didn't recognize.

"We need to make sure that everyone is safe before we make any moves." Flannery whispered to Pikachu.

"Pika." Pikachu agreed.

"It seems we have visitors." The aqua member said, turning around. She had on a modified version of the Team Aqua uniform, with a halter top, and high rise pants, her red hair wildly hanging about in waves. "Blastoise handle them."

"Pikachu use Shock Wave!"

A pulse of electricity shot out from Pikachu's tail, throwing it at the Blastoise before it could even get close.

"Let's get some backup." Flannery said. "Solrock use Solar Beam!"

"Blastoise use Hydro Pump!"

Water shot out of the cannons on either side of Blastoise, blasting both Pikachu and Solrock backwards.

"She needs help." A woman in a skirt and blouse said.

"We aren't trainers, we're researchers." A man in a lab coat said.

"Wait, but maybe one of these can help." An elderly man said. "Go my Castforms and use Sunny Day!"

A horde of five white Pokemon flew out of the back office and surrounded Solrock. Suddenly the heat rose greatly, as they changed form to a more orange color that looked like a sun.

"Solrock use Solar Beam!" Flannery said.

With the same help of the Castform, Solrock's attack charged instantly, launching into Blastoise and sending it flying out of the building.

"No matter, we have what we need now." The woman said, grabbing a flash drive. "If I were you, I'd find a boat, and soon."

"Miss, you saved us!" The elderly man said.

"But Team Aqua, they got away with something." Flannery said.

"Simple weather tracking data, same thing you could find online." The man said. "I'm just glad they didn't get any of our Castform."

"Those little guys are pretty powerful." Flannery said, rubbing one of their heads.

"Well, here for your help." The young woman said. "They're technically mine, but I think they'll be happier with you." She said, holding out an Ultra Ball.

"You don't have to give me that, I was just helping out with my friends." Flannery admitted.

"Please I insist. I've felt bad about having it from the start, I'm not much of a trainer." The woman said.

"Okay, okay. You don't need to keep pulling my arm about it." Flannery said. "Welcome to the family little guy. Let's meet up with everyone else."
