Hello everybody! Sorry about the delay between chapters but my internet connection was shotty at best, life got in the way with work, and finally I wound up catching COVID making it very hard to concentrate on writing.

So here is the next chapter of New Legacy. Remember unless it's OC I DON'T OWN IT!

Also there will be a bit more influence from the RWBY series seen in this chapter so keep any eye out for it.

Chapter Two

"Rock Throw!" Harry called out to Crusher who growled before picking up a stone and tossing over towards Terrain.

"Dodge and use Withdraw!" Neville called. The pair were sparring with the newest members of their teams.

With the date of their leaving fast approaching Harry was insistent on teaching the trio of magical beings the ins and outs of Pokémon battles. Including gym rules and a few other dos and don'ts.

He also suggested that for now no new moves be learned outside of these spars just to help strengthen their knowledge and usage of their known moves.

Right now Crusher and Kali were doing the most training since neither of them had been in an official battle before.

Ash watched with a smile on his face as his son taught his students on the fundamentals. "Nice to see that his time away didn't let him grow rusty." A rough voice said, making Ash turn and chuckle as Paul, Dawn, and their son Reggie approached.

"You didn't really think Harry would let himself become lax did you?" Ash asked Paul who smiled before the pair clasped forearms.

"Good to see you Paul." Ash said, making Paul nod. "I'm glad he's back. I was starting to get worried he wouldn't make it back any time soon." Dawn said as she watched Harry spar with the other teen.

"No need to worry." Ash commented using Dawn's catchphrase making her deadpan towards him. Reggie looked off towards Harry before looking back at his parents.

"May I?" He asked his father who smirked in understanding. "Wait for him to finish up with his student. Then you can ask." Paul said, making Reggie nod as he walked off, making Dawn sigh.

"I wish he would open up just a little more, but he just had to inherit his fathers' lack of communication." Dawn commented, making Ash chuckle.

"I don't know. He seems to know exactly how to get his point across." Dawn looked towards her former traveling companion before shrugging.

"Bite!" Harry called when Terrain got in just a little too close. Crusher didn't hesitate and snag his sparring partner on the back of the neck. Terrain cried out before falling unconscious, getting tired from the spar.

"Drat." Neville said lifting a Pokéball up and returning Terrain. "Get a good rest my friend. You gave it your all and I'm proud of you." Neville said knowing the words would get across via the bond at least.

"Good work my young friend." Harry said with a smile as he knelt before Crusher scratching the Lavatar under his chin making the Rock Skin Pokémon purr in joy at the praise and the feeling of his favorite spot being scratched.

"Your Lavatar is pretty powerful for how young it looks."

Harry blinked as he looked up to see an old friend. "Reggie!" He called in joy before standing and snagging the slightly younger teens forearm much like their fathers.

"Welcome back to Kanto. How's Sinnoh been treating you my friend?" Harry asked Reggie as he gave a small smile as he shook Harry's arm. While most would think such a smile was smug Harry knew that this was the closest Reggie got to smiling wide and bright. He was too serious like his father to release a large smile.

"It goes well. Like you I was given an egg to raise to be my starter for my journey this year." Reggie said before taking out a Pokéball and released a blue penguin Pokémon.

"Followed your mothers' footsteps?" Harry asked as he knelt and rubbed the Piplup atop the head.

"She's the daughter of moms Empoleon and your fathers Feraligatr." He said, making Harry nod after a moment.

"Makes sense. After all Ember is the daughter of our parents Typlosions." Harry added making Reggie nod once.

"Wait so you two are raising the children of your parents' partners?" Tonks' question seemed to remind the pair they weren't alone.

Reggie nodded. "It's considered tradition for close friends and family to breed their Pokémon together to create others that have potential to climb higher for future generations. It's why breeders are more commonly married couples or relatives in some manner." He explained remembering his uncle whom he was named after.

"Tonks, Mia, Neville, this is one of my closest friends and future rival Reggie Stone. His parents were good friends with my dad during his journey through the Sinnoh region." Harry introduced making Reggie nod towards the trio of newbies.

"So looking for a spar?" Harry asked, making Reggie nod.

"If not with you then at least with one of your students." He added, making Harry smile.

"Well Crusher and Kali need a good rest. However I know for a fact Tonks has a pair of Pokémon that are rested and ready to go." He motioned towards Tonks who looked pumped.

"Oh I'd love to spar with someone else for a change!" Tonks called making Reggie give a small smirk once again before nodding.

"I'm in." He said before looking at Harry. "Referee?" He asked, making Harry nod.

"Of course." Harry said as he moved to a stone marking the space in the middle of their field. Tonks moved off and stood in the far region while Reggie took the closer spot.

"Alright this is an unofficial battle between Reggie of the Sinnoh region!" Harry called, motioning towards Reggie before turning towards Tonks. "And Nymphadora of the outside realm!" Harry dodged the stinging hex sent his way barely a glance.

Tonks hissed at Harry sounding like a cat ready to fight. "Call me that again little cousin! See what happens!" She growled at him, making Harry chuckle brightly while Neville and Hermione shook their heads in slow acceptance of the pair's need to needle one another.

"It's nice to see Harry open up to new people." Dawn commented with a chuckle at the punk styled girl's reaction to her full name.

"Well you have to look at the fact that he always knew the difference between those who actually wanted to be his friend and those that wanted to use him to get close to me." Ash pointed out making Dawn and Paul nod in understanding after a moment.

Since they knew of Reggie's experiences with the same thing. "This will be a one-on-one match for training purposes that will go until one side calls uncle or becomes unable to continue." Harry continued ignoring Tonks' spell fire.

"Release your Pokémon!" Harry, called Reggie, pointed out before him.

"Piplup stand by for battle!" He called making the penguin jump forward before standing before his partner.

"And of course he had to pick up his fathers' battle call." Dawn deadpanned, making Paul chuckle.

"Vixen! Burn bright!" Tonks called out, tossing her heal ball making her Vulpix appear before her. Vixen puffed out a small burst of fire from her mouth before standing ready.

"Huh…I like that." Paul said, making Ash chuckle.

"Tonks is mostly focused on Fire types. So I encouraged her to find a call that fit her own style." Ash commented, making Paul nod with a 'huh'.

"Battlers ready?" Harry said, raising both arms into the air. Reggie and Tonks nodded.

"Go!" Harry called, lowering his arms before jumping back. "Sunny day!" Tonks called first making Vixen glow before the area turned brighter.

"Smart power up her moves and abilities while slightly weakening Reggie's." Paul said with a nod, impressed.

"Water gun!" Reggie called, making his Piplup open her mouth, sending out a jet of water.

"Dodge with Flame Charge!" Tonks called as Vixen burst into flames and moved quickly out of the way of the attack.

"Very nice. Using a move that increases speed to avoid damage…definitely one of Harry's students." Ash pointed out.

"Pound!" Reggie called as Piplup moved while Vixen was still recovering from her recent attack. "Vul!" Vixen called out at the damage.

"Before they can get away, use Ember!" Tonks called making Vixen smirk as she fired small fireballs at the Water type since they were enhanced by Sunny Day Piplup felt the damage as if it was a normal attack.

"Fast on the counterattack." Paul pointed out as Piplup slid back.

Once back Piplup glowed pink around its body making Reggie blink in surprise. "Looks like Piplup unlocked her egg move of Agility." Paul commented, making Ash smile.

"It's always cool to watch a Pokémon unlock their egg move for the first time." He commented, making Paul nod.

"Pound again!" Reggie called, watching the slightly faster Piplup move and strike Vixen again while jumping back before being hit with a counterattack.

"Flame Charge!" Tonks called as Vixen burst into flames once more and rushed forward.

"Use Water Gun to get into the air!" Reggie called, making Piplup fire its water attack down with enough force to lift into the air and avoid the attacking Vulpix.

Ash looked at the move before looking at Paul with a raised eyebrow. "You taught Dawn to use her imagination with offense and defense…don't blame me if I encourage Reggie to do the same." He explained making Ash sigh but nod.

"Now before she recovers, use Water Gun again!" Reggie called out, making Piplup launch another attack.

Vixen was hit by the attack before it was pushed away as Piplup landed on her feet.

"Ember!" Tonks called looking a little shaky making Ash shake his head.

"Looks like she neglected teaching Vixen various moves." Ash commented, making Paul nod.

"Dodge then use Pound!" Reggie called as Vixen was hit once more.

"Alright I'm going to call this." Harry said to Neville and Hermione making to step forward.

However Tonks beat him to it. "I surrender!" Tonks called out making Reggie nod as he stopped himself from calling another attack.

"With a forfeit called the winner is Reggie!" Harry called out. Tonks rushed up and picked up Vixen in her arms.

"Sorry girl. This one's on me." She said making Vixen look up at her before licking her cheek to show no harm done.

"You battled well. All you need to do is expand your move list." Reggie commented, making Tonks smile at her first battle partner outside of Harry.

"Well when I do fully expect a rematch." She said with a smirk making Reggie nod.

"I look forward to it." He said before he knelt before Piplup and offered a pink pastry.

Piplup cheered as it took the Puffin and bit into it with a wide smile. "Good job." Reggie said with his small smile.

"At least he rewards like his mother." Paul said with a smile of his own making Dawn smile brightly as they walked up towards the teenagers.

"Nicely done, both of you." Ash commented. "You started off strong Tonks, but your focus of too many fire type moves proved to be a hindrance." Ash critiqued making Tonks nod in understanding.

"Reggie nicely planned out and it was nice to see my lessons passed on to the next generation." He said to the blue haired boy who nodded in acceptance.

"Tonks I'd recommend having a few partner sessions with Rooster and Vixen. Maybe help her learn Quick Attack from Rooster while he learns Flame Charge." Ash suggested making Tonks nod in agreement since it would be a start.

"Reggie it may help to invest in the ground type move Dig to cover Piplup's biggest weakness." Ash recommended making Reggie nod in agreement.

"I can help with that. I planned to teach Crusher that move soon…I guess we can push up training." Harry commented, making Reggie nod.

"Tonks you are more than welcome to join in since both Vixen and Rooster can learn Dig as well." He said before looking towards Hermione and Neville.

"As for you two you should pick out a few moves to learn as well." He said offering the pair his dex, making both nod as they put their heads together to get to work.

A week later Harry looked on in happiness at the sight of the training going on before him. Both Crusher and Kali were finishing up their learning of Earthquake, a move Harry felt they should learn together.

The pair also trained together with Kali helping to teach Dig, and Brick Break to her newest brother. Finally Crusher learned Sandstorm from Sandra to activate his hidden ability of Sand Veil. Nearby was Amphi, and Vixen both perfecting Quick Attack.

Tonks took Ash's advice to heart and trained both Vixen and Rooster in some non-fire type attacks. On top of Dig and Quick Attack Vixen also learned Disable with help from Psymon.

While Amphi helped teach Rooster Protect on top of Flame Charge and Dig. Hermione stood at one of the ponds working with Cord who was finalizing her learning of Aqua Jet.

Cord also learned a couple ice type moves with help from Dazzler. She learned Hail and Icy Wind. Neville took to teaching Scrapper Counter and Endure to fit in with the Fighting Type while also teaching Thief the dark type of move looking to help against Psychic types.

While he also asked for help from Violet to teach Terrain Bullet Seed and Razor Leaf while also taking the time to teach Terrain Sunny Day for future moves.

Finally Reggie worked with Dazzler as well to help teach his Piplup Hail and Charm with Dig being his focus of offensive moves. Two days before they were due to leave Reggie enjoyed a rest day with the others as he was due to leave soon as well.

While Harry had offered Reggie a chance to journey with their group he politely declined stating he wanted to travel his home region first. Something Harry couldn't begrudge his friend since he felt the same way.

"Will you be coming for the Wallace Cup?" Reggie asked. The multi welcoming contest was a familiar meeting place yearly for Harry and Reggie. With both their moms focused on Contest as fans or participants, the pair would go to the Wallace Cup every year to enjoy the festivities and the main show.

"I'd try and swing for it, but since I'm not traveling alone this time it may come up to a vote." Harry commented, making Reggie nod in understanding.

"Speaking of…are you planning to travel with anyone?" Harry asked, making Reggie shrug.

"I figure if I find a traveling companion it'll happen on the road." He explained making Harry nod before he suddenly went stiff.

"Where?! Where?!" He asked in worry looking around him while his magical friends looked towards Reggie in worry.

"Best to back up a bit." He said backing away with them. Next thing they knew a loud voice called out.

"Harrrrryyyy!" Before Harry was semi-tackled from the side where a red and black blur had attached itself to his arm. Harry sighed as he strengthened up revealing a petite young woman hanging on his arm.

Her black hair with red highlights showing while she wore a black dress with red accents and frills. "Hi." The girl said with a bright smile.

Harry held his arm out watching the girl hang from it like she was on a monkey bar. "Oh it's so good to see you! Did you miss me?! Did you miss me?!" She called out in eager joy. Harry kept a serious expression on his face.

"Nope." He said before moving his free arm and rubbed the girl atop of her head making her smile more.

"Ruby!" A new voice called making Harry turn towards said voice while Ruby lost her grip and fell onto her bum with a grunt. Walking towards the group was Qrow along with three other adults and a blond-haired teen.

A woman that could almost pass as the black-haired teen girls clone walked up wearing a white cape over a casual outfit with a pair of scimitars swords on her hips. "I thought I told you not to rush off like that!" The woman commanded in a stern tone making the teen toe her shoe into the ground.

"Sorry mom." Ruby said, making her mother Summer sigh while Qrow simply shook his head with a smile on his face.

"You must get that energy from your father's family." Summer commented, making both Qrow and Harry snort while both avoiding their eyes from the stern looking woman.

"Something to add boys?" Summer Branwell asked.

"Cookie fiend." Qrow replied barely heard while his wife growled slightly. "Don't push me, mister Branwell."

"Ah leave them be Summer. After all, it's been almost a year since Ruby has seen a fellow Guardian." The blond-haired adult man said as he approached wearing a brown vest and shirt combo, dark brown pants, and what looked like metal gauntlets on both of his forearms.

"Master Tai-Yang." Harry said with a bow making the man return it. The final adult looked like a clone of the blond teen minus the fact she had black hair, a long katana sword on her hip, and bright red eyes.

She also wore a red dress while the blond teen wore a biker outfit including a long jacket and biker shorts. Like Tai-Yang she wore gauntlets on her arms however instead of silver with the image of tigers on them they were yellow with black dragons.

"Master Raven." Harry commented to the woman in red who nodded back.

"What no hello for me handsome?" The blond teen asked, her voice sounding flirty making Harry deadpan with a sigh. "Hello Yang." He grumbled letting the other teens know just who was before them.

"Well…he wasn't kidding when he called her a bombshell." Tonks commented looking at the curvy blond as Hermione glared at said blond as she approached Harry.

"So just where have you been buddy boy? After all I had to hear from Uncle Qrow that you vanished. Do you have any idea how worried I was?" Yang asked as she sauntered up to Harry trying to make him look down her shirt only to blink when he teleported away.

While true Harry normally ignores her advances he never out right ran away. "Please stop flirting with me in front of my girlfriend." His voice called making Yang look to see Harry nod standing behind the bushy haired teen they'd noticed earlier.

This time Harry had his arms wrapped around her pulling her against his front making Hermione relax as she enjoyed being in-between her boyfriend's arms.

"Girlfriend?" Yang asked after a moment, making Harry nod.

"Yang Xaolong meet Hermione Granger. Guardian in training and Water type enthusiast." Harry introduced.

"Mia this is Yang Xaolong also a Guardian in training while mainly focusing on Dragon types. With her are her parents Tai-Yang and Raven Xaolong. Both are guardians with Raven being more of a nomad while Tai-Yang works mainly as a breeder outside of Mount Silvers territory."

Harry introduced making Tai-Yang and Raven nod towards her. "Also with her are the Branwell family. Qrow you remember." He said motioning towards the drunk as he once more drank from his flask.

"Those you don't are Summer Branwell who helps her brother in-law run his breeders base when off duty. As well as their daughter Ruby aka cookie fiend two point oh." Harry introduced making Ruby puff her cheeks out at the title.

"Not a fiend." She commented, making Harry snort once more.

"I've yet to see a plate of freshly made cookies last more than two minutes in your presents." He pointed out making Ruby flush red while her father laughed loudly with her mother chuckling as well.

"Girlfriend?" Yang asked again, losing her cocky smirk looking rather annoyed.

"As of seven months ago now." Harry commented, making Hermione blink before she looked up at him.

"Has it really only been seven months?" She asked, making Harry nod.

"As of the eleventh." He said, making her smile.

"Well happy belated seven months." She said, making Harry smile as well before he bent down slightly and kissed her lips gently.

"Oi we have company!" Tonks groaned out as she, Neville, and Reggie all looked away more than used to such shows.

"Wow…could've warned us Qrow." Tai-Yang grumbled looking away at the simple passion being shown before them. Raven and Qrow both ignore the need to look away showing their twin sibling relationship.

Ruby blinked as Summer covered her eyes showing her daughter had inherited her speed while Summer investigated the sky flushed face bright. "Eh…I figured you'd believe it more from Harry or witnessing it than hearing it from me." Qrow said before holding his flask out to Raven who accepted the drink.

Yang growled at the sight, her eyes turning red while a fiery aura built around her. "Uh oh…" Qrow thought as he looked towards his niece losing her temper.

Tai-Yang noticed as well as the gauntlets on Yang's arms activated turning into full fledged weapons as they covered her knuckles and ran down her arms towards her elbows.

"Um…Harry I think Yang is about to do something stupid." Reggie commented seeing the weapon activate on the blond aura guardians' arms.

Harry looked up before picking Hermione up and vanishing as Yang appeared when they stood smashing her fist into the ground. Neville, Tonks, and Reggie all moved out of the danger as Yang turned to glare. Harry stood beside Qrow setting Hermione down.

"Excuse me for a minute." Harry growled his body, gaining a blue aura that seemed to give the appearance of bolts of energy, his hair raising up.

"Clear out!" Qrow called out before picking up Hermione along with the other teens being moved by the other adults.

"Move aside Harry!" Yang growled.

"Not on your life!" Harry growled, drawing his sword and stabbing it into the ground before the sound of tearing was heard as a pair of blue and silver gauntlets appeared on his arms, shredding his sleeves.

"I didn't know he had those?" Tonks questioned.

"He keeps those hidden under his clothing for extra armor when the need arises." Hermione commented knowing of the armbands she sometimes felt against her body.

"So when he called you Master…?" Neville asked beside Tai-Yang who nodded.

"Yep I trained him too." The blond adult commented before they jumped at the sound of clashing metal.

The group looked to see Harry blocking an attack before launching one of his own, slamming Yang in the gut. The pair seemed to vanish from sight before they clashed again.

This time Yang's gauntlets created sparks as it slid across one of Harry's both glaring before vanishing again. Soon all the magicals, and Reggie saw sparks of hits as the pair continued to fight.

"Um…shouldn't we try and stop them?" Hermione asked, making the adults sigh.

"It's best if Yang works out her anger now. If she doesn't she'll likely try to attack you and call it training." Raven said, speaking up for the first time.

"Isn't that illegal?" Tonks asked, making the group shrug.

"It's something of a gray area. Since both are training to be aura guardians they would technically train like this to fully contain their powers. Just as long as no civilians get caught up it's all clear." Qrow said with a shrug as he took another slug of his flask.

The group jumped again at the sound of a blast of power to see Yang launching a fireball towards Harry as he launched an aura sphere against the ball causing them to spark out.

"Oh boy. Yang is really going all out." Ruby commented, scratching her head in fear.

"Is she that advanced in her training?" Hermione asked, knowing from Harry that elemental attacks were a very advanced technique.

"Yang's connection to Fire and Dragon types made her a natural to flame based attacks." Tai-Yang explained before they heard the clash of thunder making them look to see an electronic attack strike Yang sending her off her feet and onto the ground.

Harry stood there with a dark cloud behind him, a glare on his face and his eyes sparking with blue energy. "While Harry has a strong connection to lightning and wind." Qrow commented.

"However since he inherited his father's love for all types he became a full-on mixed trainer." He explained as Yang groaned from her place on the ground smoke rising from her chest.

"Nobody…threatens…Mia and gets away with it." Harry said his tone filled with power never once relaxing his glare. Yang looked up at Harry seeing the anger being directed towards her.

Yang growled but her eyes turned purple once more before she seemed to vanish only to reappear outside of the fenced off area leaving in a huff as her weapons deactivated turning into armbands once more. Harry relaxed his arms allowing his gauntlets to turn into armbands once more before his clothes glowed and repaired themselves hiding the weapons once more.

Harry breathed deeply as the power was released allowing it to disappear before he picked up his blade and sheathed it once more. He turned to Hermione and pulled her into his arms once more.

"Are you okay?" He asked, holding her close as Hermione nodded against his chest. She looked up at Harry.

"Are you? I know she was your friend at one point." She asked, making Harry sigh.

"I will be." He said, making her nod again as she moved back into his arms. She knew that right now he needed to hold her close and realize she was safe after the unexpected danger.

"As much as I hate the event…Yang needed to lose today." Raven said, making Harry look towards one of his swordsmanship teachers.

"She's become a little cocky in her abilities." She explained making Harry nod.

"Isn't that common?" Tonks asked the trained guardians to look towards her.

"People become cocky in their skills all the time." She pointed out.

"True, but when one has the power to manipulate the elements…not to mention the fabric of reality in some cases…it becomes dangerous." Raven said, making Tonks blink before she nodded in understanding.

"Ruby…you aren't going to travel with Yang." Summer said, making Ruby look ready to argue but she closed her mouth after seeing the worried look on Summers' face.

Harry looked ready to offer before looking towards Reggie who raised an eyebrow in question. "You know…Reggie here plans to travel the Sinnoh region. Seeing the home of the Aura Guardians might be a good first journey." Harry commented, making Summer and Qrow look at him before looking towards the blue haired boy.

"It would give her a chance to learn more of the history of the guardians. Not to mention possibly find a Riolu or Lucario partner of her own." Qrow said after a moment making Ruby look up at her mother with a begging appearance.

"Well…Mr. Stone is the son of Sinnoh's champion…and would know the area best." Summer said before looking at Reggie who nodded.

"I wouldn't say no to a traveling companion. Just as long as she understands, sometimes I have to make appearances in certain towns for events." Reggie said with a shrug. Ruby smiled brightly cheering before rushing up to hug Reggie who groaned at the tackling younger teen.

"That girl is lucky I wasn't there!" Serena growled that night at dinner having heard the story of the battle they had heard in town.

Harry wasn't surprised at the anger. His mother was protective of her children and the idea of anyone attacking them unprovoked never sat right with her. Then again that might be left over anger at Team Rocket and their tendency to attack his dad…and granddad.

"Come to think of it…they did attack our family a lot." He thought as he continued their meal.

"I'm just glad Ruby isn't going to lose out because of her cousins' anger." Abigail said, making Harry nod.

"I'm happy too. It didn't seem fair for her to lose out from her years of work." He added, making Ash nod. "Dawn will also be happy that Reggie won't be traveling alone." Ash added, making Harry chuckle with a nod.

"He's not as much of his father as people think. He's just reserved." Harry said of his oldest friend making Ash smile.

"Plus he has his mothers' heart." Harry added making the family nod as they continued to eat.

"Does that mean you plan to meet up for the Wallace cup?" Serena asked.

"The Wallace Cup?" Hermione asked.

"Biggest contest in the Sinnoh region. It was started by a Water Type specialist Wallace from Hoenn who is a large contest fan. Along with his bright personality and love of fashion designing he eventually became well known among the contest worlds." Ash started to explain.

"Eventually he created a contest where the prize ribbon would be accepted in all the regions from Kanto to Sinnoh since the others don't focus too much on the art.

But with the hype that was built up towards the first Wallace Cup businesses and artists of different kinds turned the event into a festival leading up to the final show." Serena mentioned smiling since she loved spending days at the Cup with her children and husband.

"Oh so kinda like the World Cup?" Tonks asked, making Harry nod after a moment.

"Pretty much. It is a big sporting event just taking place over a longer time instead of just in one day." Harry said, making Tonks understand.

"Since Mom is Grand Duchess of Kanto and Auntie Dawn is Top Coordinator of Sinnoh they along with the other Duchesses and Coordinators travel to the Wallace Cup, to not only show support for the event but to watch and see the next generation compete. Heck dad even once competed back during his journey through Sinnoh." Harry explained making Ash smile at that memory.

"Oh yeah, that was a fun day. It also helped that Dawn won the egg of her Typlosion there that year." Ash smiled remembering the joy of seeing the Johto Pokémon again at the time.

"Wait, you can win Pokémon eggs?" Neville asked, making Ash nod. "Depending on the event or challenge breeders will donate eggs to be raised by the winners."

He explained with a nod, having raised a few eggs because of such events. His Donphan being the first that comes to mind.

"Oh so it's not like people are going out and poaching eggs?"

"Absolutely not!" Ash, Harry, and Serena growled, making Tonks flinch back before she raised her napkin like it was a white flag.

"Mercy…" She squeaked.

"Sorry. Bad history with poachers and thieves." Ash explained relaxing. Tonks nodded in understanding putting this type of joke is best left internally.

"So why did the Branwells and the Xaolongs come to visit?" Ash asked Harry, making him blink.

"Oh right." He said remembering the talk Qrow had come to have. "They came to not only check up on me but to also tell me there was going to be some announcement over the league channel tonight." He said moving towards the living room.

Harry had barely turned on the TV when a set of trumpets began to play. "Oh just in time." He thought moving over to the side.

Soon a woman known as Glynda Goodshow walked onto the screen. The Granddaughter of the original Mr. Goodshow had taken over the league operations after his passing.

"Thank you all." The platinum blond haired woman said wearing a pair of glasses upon her nose. She wore a white business suit shirt, black slacks, and a corset around her middle. Most would believe her to be wearing a naughty librarian look.

"Today I am pleased to announce the start of a new addition to the trainers' tournaments of the regions." She said a small smile appeared on her face.

"Today I am happy to announce the beginnings of the Type Challenges!" She said brightly, making Harry blink.

"What challenges?" He asked, making his dad smile as he remembered the meeting to set this up.

"These Challenges are a series of tournaments for single type focused trainers." Glynda said, making Tonks, Neville, and Hermione move to pay closer attention.

"While there have been events focusing on single types of Pokémon there has never been full tournaments focusing on single type trainers only." Glynda explained making Harry and Ash nod. While single type trainers were common beyond the Final Four of regions there weren't many widely known such trainers.

"This year starting this August trainers can sign up for these challenges on top of competing in the Indigo Plateau. However unlike gym battles the challenges will issue these." Glynda held up a golden coin like object.

"Upon gaining victory at each challenge a trainer will be issued one of these. They are called type symbols." She said turning the coin showing the image of a golden tear drop the symbol of Water Types.

"Once a trainer earns four symbols they will be eligible to enter into one of the Grand Type Tournaments which will take place next June alongside the Plateau." She explained.

"Makes sense. Four tournament wins in order to gain access to a fifth to win the grand prize." Harry commented before Glynda continued.

"Now for the main rules." She said, gaining her serious expression again. "A trainer can only be signed up for two types of challenges at a time!"

"Again makes sense. There are eighteen types out there…no way one can compete in enough tournaments to gain symbols in all types." Hermione pointed out.

"Second, each tournament will have a specialty rule or two depending on the town and type. Finally unless specified in a tournament only the tournament types of attacks will be accepted minus the use of Normal Type attacks. Normal type moves will be accepted in each tournament."

Harry and Ash nodded in understanding. "Makes sense. Normal type abilities and moves are so common that one can't help but use them on occasion." Ash commented.

"With the rules announcement it is time to talk about the prizes." She commented before lifting a trophy that had a blue water type symbol on top while it was decorated with blue waves across a golden field.

"Each winner of the Grand Type Tournament will earn one of these Grand Type awards…and the chance to represent their region in a world type master tournament." She said making Harry and the teens blink in surprise.

"Each representative will compete against one another for the right to earn the title of Type Master!" Glynda called out in excitement.

"Holy…that's gonna garner some attention." Harry commented in surprise.

"With that I welcome any and all challengers!" Glynda called out once more smiling before she bowed and stepped off the podium.

"Scrapper would probably love taking place in the Fighting type tournament. Not to mention the kinds of partners and friends we could gather in between such tournaments." Neville said later that night as the group sat around for their nighttime routine of tea and biscuits.

"It would be a fun experience." Hermione pointed out thinking of the different types of water tournaments she could take part in.

"Oh yeah!" Tonks called in excitement. While she had enjoyed the idea of participating in the Plateau the idea of facing off against Harry had been a little intimidating.

"So Fire, Fighting, Grass, and Water? Have you any other ideas?" Harry asked his friends.

"I'm covered so no." Neville said, making the more experienced trainer nod.

"I might look into the psychic types, but I'm going to keep my main focus on Water types." Hermione commented with a thoughtful look.

"I know Dragon Types are rare, but I wouldn't mind looking into them as well." Tonks commented, making Harry nod.

"They are very rare here in Kanto. In fact there is only one known species. The Dragonite line." He explained making Tonks hiss slightly before she sighed.

"Then…I'll probably check out other types. Maybe Electric." She shrugged, making Harry nod.

"Are you going to compete?" Hermione asked Harry who thought about it before shaking his head.

"I feel like these tournaments are for you three. I have enough on my plate as it is. Gym battles, Guardian duties, and not to mention the odd contest/showcase or two I'll have to appear at for my mom. I think I'm good." He said, making the trio nod in understanding.

"Although I am looking forward to seeing how far you three go in your tournaments. It'll set a nice benchmark for our travels." He said, making the group nod.

"If you're looking for a Fighting type to join up soon there's a Mankey family that lives near Viridian City. There's bound to be one or two willing to travel." Harry commented to Neville who smiled at the idea.

"As for Electric Types you can usually find a wild Pikachu in Viridian Forest. As for Psychic types…well those are harder to find out in the wild." Harry commented.

"Then it's a good thing I can help with that!" Harry looked out in surprise towards Summer approaching with an eager look on her face.

"Master Summer? What are you doing here?" He asked in surprise at the approaching semi-retired guardian.

"Well…Tai-Yang felt bad for the drama earlier today, so he and I talked about how to make up for it. Knowing you won't accept such a thing we're giving gifts to your companions to help with their journeys." She said, making Harry nod in understanding as she lifted the sling bag from her side up.

"Neville since your starter grass type is from the Sinnoh region we've brought you this little guy." She said placing a green and yellow egg before Neville.

"This little darling is a grass/poison type also originally found in the Sinnoh region." She explained making Neville smile as he accepted another egg. A part of him had missed the days of caring for and raising a Pokémon from birth.

"In fact , your egg comes from Sinnoh as well Tonks." She said placing a blue and black egg down with yellow accents. Making her smile as she looked at the little one.

"Finally Hermione's egg actually comes from the Hoenn region." She said placing a white egg with a green top before Hermione. "This one is a Psychic/Fairy mixed type." She said, making Hermione smile.

"Originally we were going to try and give you a Water Type egg, but something told me that this little one was meant for you." She said, making Hermione as she cradled the egg in question.
