Chapter 3—Perfect Strangers

"Why Olivia, why couldn't you save her, why couldn't you help her?" Olivia was trying to calm Erin Whelan, Abby's mother. "She depended on you for protection. Why? Look at her now."

Liv looked down to where Erin was pointing and saw Abby's dead eyes. Olivia tried to say something, anything to calm this woman she loved like her own mother. Olivia's mouth was so dry, though, she couldn't speak.

She felt her shoulder get touched and her body get spun around. Before she even saw the face, she grabbed a bat, knowing it was Charles who had touched her.

Olivia woke up, feeling the hand on her shoulder and she grabbed the bat. She jumped up standing on the bed almost losing balance. The taste in her mouth reminding her she was probably still drunk, and she looked around. She recognized the hotel room, but who the hell was in her bed? She raised the bat in the air, looking down at the man pleading with her to calm down.

At some point during his peaceful sleep, Fitz felt the urge to go to the bathroom again. Trying to ignore it, it only caused a massive erection. He blinked open his eyes in the darkness. He could still taste the remnants of scotch and feel the lightheadedness. Still drunk, well maybe just buzzed.

He turned, and by the glow of the bathroom light, he noticed a shoulder. It was a woman's shoulder for sure. Smooth brown skin, a delicate bra strap around it, surely this must be a dream. He didn't bring a woman up here, did he? He would never. Just to make sure it wasn't a dream, he reached out to touch the shoulder, and he grazed her skin. Wow, silk heaven.

He was not expecting her to spin around, and jump up, with a bat in her hands. What the hell? What demon did he find? He put his hands up in defense. "Woah, calm down!"

"Who the hell are you? How the hell did you get into my hotel room? Why shouldn't I pound you senseless with this bat?"

Fitz sat up, his hands above his head, as if that could stop the bat if it came down on him. When he touched her shoulder, he woke her up. Boy, was that a mistake.

"Look I'm sorry. I don't know how you got here, I just touched your shoulder to wake you up, I am sorry." He jumped from the bed and was now standing in between the wall and the bed. It didn't help that his erection was coming through his boxers. Now he didn't know if he should defend himself with his hands or cover himself up. He could feel his face burning up.

Liv moved closer, not getting down from the bed. She had the elevated position, and she held the bat tighter now. "What do you mean how I got here, this is my hotel room, you freak. How the hell did you get here?" She looked him up and down, even with the bat and the upper hand, she had to smirk at his uncomfortableness, although Liv wouldn't lie, she liked what she was seeing.

"You always wake up like that?" Liv pointed the bat to where he was covering.

He found himself unable to take his eyes off her. She was wearing lace white panties and a lace bra, that looked better from the front than what he woke up in the back. Her curves were gorgeous, and he felt the urge to kiss her sexy stomach. He had to stop staring, otherwise his head was going to become a baseball.

Fitz buried his head in his hands. "Wait, just wait, give me a minute, one minute."

Liv pulled back. She felt the way he looked at her. She heard his voice. She was no longer afraid, but she wouldn't let him know that, besides, that sounded cute. Aww, he wanted one minute. Maybe he was harmless. Then he lifted his head from his hands. "I think I entered the wrong room. Is this 882?"

"782" Olivia said with caution.

"Shit" Fitz put his head back in his hands. "I just wanted a few hours, just a day maybe, just to have, to….." He began what Liv thinks was crying, but she wasn't sure. "They're going to find me anyway; I was a fool to think…"

Liv began to feel sorry for him. He was obviously stressed, and had found a hideout, did it have to be her room though?

Three hard bangs on the door. "Anyone in there, this is hotel security." Liv looked over at the door and back at Fitz.

"Who the hell are you?" Liv ignored the banging; her head was doing enough of it. This was all too much.

"They're going to come in if you don't answer them."

"It's 4 am, they can wait a second for an answer. Who are you?"

"My name is Fitzgerald Grant, I am….."

"Running for governor." Liv crossed her eyebrows she remembered the name from Vivian and Rick. Three more bangs. "Hold on, jerks, it's 4 am," Liv screamed at the door.

"Sorry ma'am, we have a question." Liv looked back at Fitz.

"Yeah, him, I'm the candidate. Go on, answer, tell them I'll be out in a minute." He put his head down. Then, he looked at the bat, not before looking at her body again. She was gorgeous. "I am not going to hurt you Ms." Fitz waited for her name.

Liv didn't answer. Liv hopped down from the bed, never letting the bat go. She pointed it at hm. "Just wait here, stay behind the wall here."

Fitz looked curiously at her. He was about to tell her she was opening the door to a swarm of men in just her bra and panties, but the bat held him back from doing so. This woman seemed to know what she was doing. He put his hand back on his forehead. He really needed to pee.

She walked to the door. Trying to shake the image of this beautiful, bodied man in her room, trying to think straight through the alcohol, she gripped the doorknob with her free hand. She swung it open with the bat in her other hand. All the guys took a step back, looking at the bat and at Olivia, actually more at Olivia.

Liv looked angry. There must have been a dozen of them. "What the hell do you freaks want? Do you know what time it is?"

No one spoke, not a word, they just kept staring at Liv. Liv looked down at herself. She forgot she was in her bra and underwear. She shrugged. "What, never seen lace panties before?"

"Ma'am, why do you have a bat?" One of the dark-haired goons finally asked.

"Because I don't trust hotel security, now what do you want?"

"We're looking for a gentleman." The guy held up a picture of Fitz, the same man hiding in the hotel room behind Liv.

Liv put her eyes closer to the picture. "Handsome guy, where did you lose him, was he not holding your hands?"

They began to clear their throats. Another one said, "have you seen him?"

Liv laughed. "Where? At the spa? Look at me, does it look like I've been out? No, I haven't seen him, now go finish your game of hide and seek, and don't knock on my door again, I'll have harassment charges stick on all of you, disturbing my peace." She flinched the bat. "Now go! Damn Californians."

They all seemed to be in shock, and Liv watched as they turned towards the elevator. She closed her door and turned back to get more out of this Grant guy. Now she was curious and attracted. He did give a feeling she was unfamiliar with and she felt a strange attraction to him.

He was right behind her as she turned. Her forehead grazing his chest. He knocked the bat down to the floor and just as Liv was bout to watch it fall, he pushed her head towards him, his finger on her jaw, guided her mouth towards his, and planted a kiss on her lips. Liv didn't have a moment to breathe, she also didn't have an ounce of fight in her to stop it, it felt so good.

His hand reached her neck, and he pushed the kiss deeper. Liv was lost, this felt so damn good, and she would be lying to herself if she didn't think she felt desire for this stranger.

She finally pushed off. "What the hell was that for?" She tried to seem annoyed but wasn't doing a good job of it. She walked towards the bed, now sitting on the edge of it.

Fitz ran to the bathroom. Went as fast as he could to empty his bladder. Her lips still felt on his. God, that was amazing. He quickly washed his hands. He went back out to face the consequences. At least the bat was still on the floor.

Liv was staring at the floor. She was more afraid now than when she woke up with him in her bed, afraid of what she was feeling, and just what the hell was she feeling. Her finger traced her lips. That felt fabulous. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and said "stop, it was just the alcohol", but was it. Why did she defend him? She could have had his ass carted out, erection and all. Wow, that erection. She turned and watched him walk over, boxers back down to normal size now, no longer being stretched out. She was a bit disappointed. She looked up at him.

He looked better with the light now on. His chest was consumed by the abs she took a quick stare at. His biceps were bulging, and she got a good look at his facial features. No wonder why he was a shoe in for governor.

Fitz went to sit next to her but stopped. Seeing her better now in the light, he froze for a moment. He was lying to himself when he thought she was gorgeous, she was beyond that. He took a slow, quiet deep breath and stepped towards her. "May I?" he pointed to bed. He also put his hands up in defense.

"Go ahead." Liv shrugged. "You can stop defending yourself, I am not going to hurt you. Sorry about the bat."

"No one has ever helped me like that in my life. I thought for sure you would have me escorted out of here. Thank you so much for that. Oh, and you are by far the most beautiful woman I have ever set eyes on."

Liv just looked at him now, right into those gorgeous blue eyes he knew he had. He was being serious, she could tell. That's been the nicest thing someone had sincerely said to her. She was silenced for the first time in her life, really having nothing to say.

He looked right back at her. He was lost in the dark tunnels of her brown doe eyes. He somehow knew she felt the same way he did. He felt it in that kiss. Her eyes, though, wow. They glistened as she looked at his. He too was at a loss for words but found some form of noise come from his throat.

Liv found her voice at the same time, and they blinked in unison. Liv let his words come out first, her body was still on the high from his blue eyes. She seemed to be drifting in a sky of Grant blue.

"Do you have a name?" He smiled as he blinked.

Liv thought for a second. She looked at him one more time. Those gorgeous blue eyes seemed lost and curious now. "I do" she nodded. "Olivia" she looked down at the floor than back up at him. "Pope."

"A name as beautiful as the face and all her features. As you already know, Fitzgerald Grant, the Third. Fitz for short." He put his hand out for her shake.

She grazed his hand; afraid she may pull him into another earth-shattering kiss. 'Do you always just wind up in women's hotel rooms? How did you get in here?"

"My security detail has keys that open every door to the hotel in case I go lost or get attacked, as if I could be so lucky. Anyway, I got hold of one of the keys, and meant to go to room 882, but I think I was too drunk to realize I got off on the wrong floor."

Liv was watching him speak. She was just lost in his words, his voice so convincing, so commanding. She took a deep breath. "Well, I think I was too drunk to hear you come in and get into my bed, so we are even." Her knee grazed his knee and they just looked at each other again.

"Wait", Liv began, remembering pieces of her conversation with Vivian. "Aren't you getting married?'

Fitz suddenly turned away. Liv's shoulders slumped. She didn't want to stop looking into his eyes.

"Bachelor party weekend. My last big hurrah."' Fitz said it with as much enthusiasm as a kid who lost his puppy.

Liv didn't know what to say. She thought back to Abby and Chip's half assed wedding. "Why do you politicians do this? Why do you just get married, like it's not something that should be respected?" Fitz looked back up at her, she tilted her head, she obviously struck a nerve.

"You're not wrong. The voters like politicians that are married, happy, beginning a family, I don't know, I can't really explain it. You sound like you have experience with politicians and marriage."

Liv ignored the comment. "Why did you kiss me?" Liv wasn't sorry she kissed back; she maybe wanted another one. She felt so guilty thinking about how good it felt. He has a fiancé waiting for him to call or something, she was sure.

"Your beauty, your bravery, and your defense of me, everything was just so…." Liv saw Fitz turn red. "So, sexy. I am sorry if I took advantage of you, I didn't mean to."

"You're engaged to be married." Liv said.

"Stop reminding me, Livvie, ok?" Fitz looked back at her lips after he said the name.

"Livvie?" Did he just give her a nickname? Liv felt a bit of a chill go up her arms, as the name rolled off his tongue. She wanted to beg him to say it again, but she had to keep her composure. He was not hers for the taking.

Fitz shrugged. "You just look like a Livvie. I think the name suits you." He smirked and Liv was getting more lost in this guy. What the hell was it, everything he did just had an effect on her, on her body. Had she really been lonely so long or did she really feel something for him?

She thought back to when she was at the bar. "Love with a perfect stranger." She had said to Rick. Could her words be coming true?

Fitz tightened his lips when she didn't say anything. He felt he was overstaying his welcome. She got rid of his security detail for him, he should get going. He patted her hand. "Thank you again for not telling them I was in here. I'll be going now."

"Wait" Liv couldn't believe she said it, but she did. She also couldn't believe she grabbed his hand and he held it gently back. He began rubbing his thumb softly on the smoothness between her thumb and fingers. Now he tilted his head at her, looked in her eyes and saw the strain.

"I could use the company, someone to talk to, seems like you could too. Would you mind staying?" Olivia looked down at the floor embarrassed that she asked an engaged man to stay with her in a hotel room.

"I'm sorry, Fitz, that was inappropriate." She shook her head. "Loneliness, fear, sadness, and not to forget the alcohol coming out all at once." Some tears grazed her eyes and they way he was staring at them, the tears weren't going unnoticed. "You should go."

He wasn't moving. For one, hearing her say his name just made him want her more now. Something was on her mind and if she was willing to open to him, even just for a few hours, he would love to hear what she had to say. He wouldn't mind talking to her either.

"It's not inappropriate at all. I mean it's the least I can do for you sparing my head and body from a bat beating."

Liv smiled, a big smile, one she couldn't even do for a few weeks since Abby's been gone. When Fitz saw that smile, his heart melted. It was just stunning, and it belonged on her face for every minute she was awake.

"So, you aren't from California? Judging by the way you spoke to my security detail; you don't seem fond of our state. I hope I can change that." His lip smirked up again and Liv looked at those lips again. She wouldn't mind feeling them one more time.

She brought herself back. "No, I am from NY. I'm a lawyer, I have a client through my firm I am meeting with out here on Monday, then I'll be heading back." See Liv, it wouldn't be an affair, maybe just a one-night stand. She closed her eyes. She really had to stop thinking sexually about an engaged man.

"Sounds intriguing."

"It really isn't. So why aren't you excited about your upcoming nuptials?" Liv wasn't going to let on she knew more than she was letting on.

"Very complicated. It could take all day."

Liv shrugged, "I am not going anywhere." She looked again at him; this time side eyed, more seductive. She couldn't help it. There was an attraction she couldn't deny, and she began to feel aching in her core.

Fitz didn't know if it was real or not, but he felt the attraction she had to him. He didn't want to come off as an engaged man eager to cheat on his fiancé, but he was feeling it too. His body was on fire, and still just wearing his boxers, he wasn't going to be able to hide it much longer.

He leaned in slowly again, looking at her eyes, then her lips, then back to her eyes again. Her eyes were closed, and he could tell she was anticipating another kiss from him, and he didn't disappoint.

His lips barely grazed hers, and she wouldn't let him pull back. Her hand reached the back of his neck and rubbed his curls. "Don't stop, Fitz, ok, God, don't stop."

His hand reached down, their lips still connected, and he rubbed over her lace bra. Her hand came down to his, and she exposed her breast to him. He felt her breathing become heavier in the kiss as his thumb found her nipple and he rubbed it gently.

"Oh God" she threw her head back. "This is so wrong." She said the words, but it felt so damn good.

Fitz couldn't stop now if he wanted to, only if she wanted him to stop. He looked at her neck as she threw her head back. "I could stop."

"Please don't stop." She pulled his head down to her neck where his warm lips connected, and she felt his hand go around to her back and unsnap her bra.

His kiss went to her chest and found her breast. His tongue began circular motions on her nipple and around her breast and Liv felt her forehead fall on to the top of his head as her hand rubbed his back smoothly.

He pushed her back softly with shoulders, and she felt a wave of want come over her body as he was above it. "You sure about this Livvie, we don't even know each other yet."

She cupped his face in her hands. "I know this is so wrong, but my body wants you in a way I can't explain Fitz, but if you want to stop, I understand. You're engaged, you have more to lose if you continue….." Fitz's lips stopped her from talking.

"Don't think about Livvie, ok, don't think." He was breathing the words more than saying them between the kiss. "You taste so good" He was kissing her now past her breasts and onto her stomach. Liv was completely gone now as she felt him peel her panties off and move her up on the bed.

This woman was doing things to him he never felt before. He wanted her in so many ways, he wanted to comfort her, to protect her, to just feel all over her, and his lips made his way to her sweet wetness, and she welcomed him, rubbing his curls and slightly arching her back.

His tongue found her wet clit, and he used his tip to go from the fold back to the tip, and with each movement, he heard her moan, and it was by far the sexiest thing he ever heard. He stopped the motion and used the tip of his tongue on the top of her clit, and he felt her body go still.

Liv never felt a sensation like the one his tongue was giving her. She opened her eyes and looked around. Feeling this magic on her body, she wondered what the hell had happened in a short hour. She closed her eyes again, and as she felt his tongue tip circulate on the top of her clit; her body stiffened.

Suddenly an orgasm hit her and hit her hard. It had been a long time since she felt this, and she just held her breath as the shaking was overtaking her body. She felt his hand resting on her stomach, and she reached and put her hand on top of his.

Before she could come down from that climax, Fitz was above her, and buried her lips into hers. They had somehow gotten to the middle of the bed now, and she could feel his huge erection separating her thighs.

Liv didn't care she just came down from a heart pounding orgasm, she wanted him. She heard him ask "Is it safe Livvie?"

Liv wasn't sure, but she didn't care, she wanted him so bad. This desire overtaking her body just had her head shake yes, and she felt him glide into her opening.

"Dear God, you are so tight, so inviting, so…" he didn't say it, but he thought it, so not Mellie. As soon as he was fully in her, he never wanted to be inside someone else ever again.

He took her hands and put them above her head, holding them there, as he was making the bed bounce thrusting hard into her. His chest was up, above hers, not touching so he could see her. He saw her eyes close tightly, open back up, and he saw the doubt in her eyes.

Kissing her face and still going rapidly in and out of her, holding her hands as he was in complete control, he said in a low baritone whisper "Don't think of anything Livvie, just this right now, ok. You. Feel. So. Good. Please, just think of this."

He was gliding with ease now, and Liv's body just took him all in. As his hands were still holding hers above her head. He lost his tongue in Liv's mouth, moaning as her juices continued to wet his dick.

Her body began to arch again, and Liv moved her head to the side, as she felt his lips on her neck again. Her second climax hit her again, and she pulled her hand out of his hold. Her hand went to the back of his head, holding him deep in her neck. She felt the bed bounce harder, and she heard him grunt, through deep breaths, and without any warning, he shot right into her.

Liv felt the warmth of him as he emptied himself, and Fitz continued breathing into her neck, as her hand weakly now rested on the back of his head. They both didn't know it at the time, but they had just conceived little Grant.

He just stayed like that, breathing into her neck, and she couldn't move either. That all happened in a blink, but it was by far the best she had ever felt. What did she just do? Guilt overcame her, and she buried her head into his shoulder.

He moved his hand now to her thigh. He worked his way up to her stomach, grazing her breast and then her shoulder. He rested his hand on her cheek and gave her a gentle kiss on her lips.

The chills Liv felt run up her body with his touch. Never had a man done that after love making, and she felt like ice melting with his touch. He put his head back into her neck, breathing into it.

"I really have to get to know you Olivia Pope," she shook her head agreeing with him. Right now, though she couldn't think. She had just made love to an engaged man, there could be no commitment. But, even as she thought this, she couldn't let him out of her grip.

He lifted his head, and their eyes connected again. "Hi" he said, smiling.

"Hi", but it was more of a question, why would he say hi? It sounded adorable, though. He rested his forehead on hers.

"Tell me about Olivia Pope." He rolled off her, and faced her, waiting for her to talk.

"Olivia Pope is very hungry right now. Olivia Pope is feeling very guilty right now, and a bit embarrassed. I am not like this. I don't just sleep with..." She shook her head holding it in her hand.

"Hey, it's ok. It was just the heat of the moment between two strangers. I can't say I didn't provoke it, or want it."

"Why don't I go downstairs, get us something to eat and see if I can get any word on what is going on with security. You know they aren't done looking for you." Olivia needed to do something to wash away the guilt she was feeling.

Fitz crossed his eyebrows. "You don't have to do that. They're going to search the hotel, not fine me, and they'll figure I left. Don't worry, my father will be called in and things will get heated. It's just a matter of time."

Liv was getting dressed as he was speaking. She just had to leave the room for a few minutes. "Do you drink coffee, Fitz?"

"No, I am a scotch kind of guy."

"Well, you're not getting scotch at 6 am in the morning." She put her sneakers on and headed towards the door, grabbing her key.

Without a word she walked out and waited for the elevator.

Fitz covered his face with his hands when she left. "Holy shit Fitz, what just happened?", he said it to no one. He got up and took his boxers. He walked over to the desk. She had a file on the desk with a few notes jotted down. The letterhead said Flannery, Peters, and Neville. Fitz had heard of that firm, he knew Peters in passing conversation. She had to be good to be working for them.

Without touching it, Fitz turned his head to look at the file. "Jake Ballard." He knew that case too. He vowed on his campaign as governor that he would keep criminals like Ballard behind bars, because domestic abusers should have no rights in California. Was she really defending a scum like him?

Having nothing to do, Fitz went back the bed. He couldn't stop thinking of her, not for a minute. How was he going to face Mellie, knowing what happened? He turned to his side. He didn't want to even look at Mellie after having Olivia. He drifted off to sleep thinking of the beautiful stranger he just met and made the most amazing love to.

"How do you just let him walk away, what the hell am I paying you top dollar for? You are all a disgrace, seriously a disgrace. What about the workers, the cleaning service people? Did you think to ask them as they begin cleaning out rooms?" Big Gerry had been called in after the hotel search turned up nothing.

Liv walked in to him yelling at about 20 security detail. They were in the small café, that had just opened for morning breakfast. Liv didn't look over there, she didn't want to bring any attention to herself, but one guy stopped her.

"Ma'am, there's a meeting going on, you cannot go in there."

"You're kidding me, right? I want to get some food. All you guys have been doing is harassing me. You mean to tell me I can't get a bagel and some juice? Is California a Communist state I wasn't aware of?"

"What's the problem, Kent?" Liv looked at the person asking. She had to quickly look away. He was an older version of Fitz. This was surely his father.

"The lady wants to get food, but I told her about the meeting."

Big Gerry looked at Olivia. "Good morning young lady. Sorry for the inconvenience, my son has gone missing, we're asking everyone in the hotel if they have seen him."

Liv looked at him now, no expression at all. "Sorry to hear that, how old is he?"

A few chuckles came from the meeting men listening in but stopped when Gerry gave them a death stare. He turned back to Olivia.

"He seemed to have gotten a bit drunk last night and wondered off, we're just making sure he isn't hurt somewhere. Have you seen him?"

"Seen who?"

"My son."

"How the hell would I know if I'd seen him? I don't even know who he is or what he looks like, I just want something to eat, is that ok?"

"You from here?"

"No, I am not, I am a guest in this hotel. That is a mistake I have made, I see." She nodded over the table of men. "I am trying to give business to an establishment, but I have been nothing but disturbed. I was woken up at 4 am with banging on my door, now I can't get something to eat. I am beginning to think California is one big mess, now if you'll excuse me." She went to step around Big Gerry, but he put his hand up.

"I apologize, things are complicated right now. We haven't let the workers leave and I know we've disturbed the hotel's business. Let me buy your breakfast. My name is Fitzgerald Grant, the second, Senator from the great state of California."

Liv nodded. "Pleased to meet you." Her body was numb after hearing the name, even though she knew who he was. Why was he so protective over Fitz though? What the hell with all this security. His son was a grown man.

He pulled out a business card and a small picture of Fitz. "If you do see him, or hear anything could you give me a call? This is my personal cell right on that card. He's to be married in a week and his fiancé….."

"You have got to be kidding me Big Gerry!"

Liv turned to see a dark-haired blue-eyed brunette with too much foundation on screaming towards the café. That's who he was marrying. Liv's eyebrows crossed. She had to get out of there.

"Uh, could you give the lady whatever she wants?" He told the worker, handed Liv the card, and walked over to Mellie while putting the picture back in his pocket. He put his arm around Mellie.

As he guided her to the table, Liv could hear him say. "It's fine, he had too much to drink it was a bachelor party, we'll find him. We're sure it's nothing. We just want to make sure he didn't fall, get hurt, or something."

Liv looked at Gerry comforting Fitz's soon to be wife. She glanced to her right. There were three police officers looking at the layout of the hotel. She looked to her left, there were ten security detail pointing in all directions. What a mess Fitz was causing.

She took one more look around the whole café after grabbing her bagel and juice. "Ma'am", she heard "Kent" say.

"What?"

"You really do need to leave. Like the senator said, if you know or you see anything, give him a call ok?"

"Did it occur to you that maybe the guy left the hotel, he doesn't want to be found?"

"We've checked outside security cameras, we haven't detected him leaving."

"You also didn't detect him go missing." Liv turned and took one last look at the woman he was marrying. A wave of jealousy came over her body, then it was followed by guilt. The woman had her arms crossed, like a spoiled brat, blinking so not to cry. Liv didn't want Fitz sleeping in the bed with this woman, but how could she stop something like this, like this scene that was in front of her?

Foundation brunette fiancé was now rubbing the corners of her eyes with a napkin, although Liv didn't see any tears. She looked up and her eyes met Liv's. Liv nodded, and just turned and walked out. She couldn't play this game much longer.

Upon entering back into her hotel room, Liv found Fitz was sound asleep on the bed. She sat in the chair across from the bed and just stared at him. There was a whole mission going on downstairs just for his whereabouts. She looked at his face, so peaceful in sleep. He looked so relaxed, like he needed this.

They must be grooming him for President now. Are that that insecure that he would do something else? The guy wasn't even Governor yet. "What is it about you Mr. Grant?" Liv just looked at him.

He is beautiful though, and the way he made her feel, it was surreal. He has a life though, and he chose that life. She looked at the card his father had given her. She walked quietly over to the hotel phone and looked down. Her eyes somber as she watched this gorgeous blue eyed man sleep. It had to be done just to ease her own guilt.

She picked up the hotel phone and dialed the number. "This is Olivia Pope in room 782."
