I spent the day grading the exams from the last semester of 1996.

I decided to celebrate New Year's Eve at the bar and grill on Pier 39 along with the others from the research staff. Though this was not my world, I found a place here.

I toasted to my companions.

We heard and saw the fireworks over San Francisco Bay as we reached the year 1997.
