Chapter 5: Family Business

The next morning, "Ugh!" "I hate dresses!" Yo-Yo groaned, she was wearing a green dress with a pleated skirt, capped sleeves, and a red sash on it with a golden medallion in the middle of it, Kora wore a dark blue one just like it. Daisy wore a sky-blue one with swirls on her medallion. Melody wore one identical to Daisy's except for the color which was periwinkle. The men were wearing fancy overalls with shirts underneath them.

"How long will it take to get there?" Kora asked.

"Two hours," Cal replied.

"We might as well plan out what we're going to do when we get there, we have NOTHING else to do," Daisy suggested stressing the nothing. showing that she was already bored.

"Do you have blueprints?" Mack asked Cal.

"Yes, I do," Cal replied.

"Hang on mate, do you carry a blueprint with you wherever you go?" Hunter asked.

"No, of course not I brought it because I knew we would need it," Cal explained.

Crystalla, Two hours later

They landed in a forest outside of the main city where the castle was located. When they reached the main gate, they were stopped by a guard. "Halt!" "You must use the bathhouses before entering the palace," the guard said pointing to a long row of bathhouses.

"Oh, I forgot about that part," Cal said. "You have to take a shower and rub yourself with oil before entering the Palace,"

Half an hour later they all met at the gate. Deke whistled as the girls approached. "Your pretty," Deke said walking over to Kora.

"Um, thanks?" Kora said, unsure how to take the compliment or what his intentions were. The team headed through the gate into the courtyard. From there they split up, Mack, Cal, Kora, and Deke headed to the throne room while Yo-Yo did recon. Jemma and Daisy went to find a place to hide, they were not going to take any chances.

Sousa, May, Coulson, Hunter, Trip, Bobbi, Melody, and Fitz went to strategic positions around the castle while Mack, Cal, Kora, and, Deke headed for the throne room. When they reached the doorway, they could hear Tuamon ranting. "I want my brother dead!" he yelled at his guard.

"Yes, sir!" the guard replied saluting. Cal and Mack went straight in while Kora and Deke went in through the vents.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't my dear brother, what brings YOU to MY castle?" Tuamon asked in a taunting way as Cal and Mack approached.

Meanwhile, in the vents, Kora and Deke waited for the signal. The vents were barely big enough to fit both agents, so they were extremely close. Kora's heart began to beat faster. This is silly, Kora thought to herself, I didn't feel this way yesterday. Did I? Kora was so wrapped up in her thought, that she almost missed Mack charging straight at Tuamon. Cal was supposed to signal them, but it appeared that he had forgotten that part of the plan because within seconds they were surrounded by guards and were being dragged away.

"Put them with the others," Tuamon told his guards. Kora put her hand over her mouth to muffle her gasp. The others had been captured and it was now up to them to find Daisy and Jemma and free the others.

Meanwhile, Cal and Mack were tossed into the dungeon where everyone else besides Daisy, Jemma, and of course Kora and Deke were. Cal let out a sigh of relief when he realized that his daughter was not among them. "How did you get caught?" Trip asked.

"Cal forgot to give the signal," Mack replied.

"It probably would not have done much good anyway, I doubt Deke remembered what the signal was anyway," Fitz commented.

"And I think Deke's comment earlier may have distracted Kora," Bobbi added.

"Let's hope they can find Daisy and Jemma or we're going to be in a lot of trouble here mates," Hunter said voicing what the others were thinking.

May scoffed, "Daisy will hear them coming before they find them, she has better hearing than most," May said defending her daughter's hiding skills because she had been her S.O.

"We'd better hope so," Melody said, or were going to be here a while."

"Where should we start looking?" Deke asked Kora.

"How should I know?!" Kora asked in frustration.

"Daisy's your sister," Deke replied.

"And Jemma is your grandmother," Kora retorted, "that doesn't mean anything."

Deke sighed, "Your right," he admitted.

"Let's try this way," Kora suggested pointing down the hall to the right.

"Sure," Deke agreed, and with that, they headed down the hall.

Meanwhile, Daisy and Jemma were hiding in a secret room with a long, wooden table in the center with chairs around it. Daisy had found the room using vibrations. It was upon two of those chairs where Daisy and Jemma sat. "I don't like this; we should be out there. I should be out there!" Daisy complained.

"I'm worried about Fitz," Jemma admitted.

"Did you hear that?" Daisy asked worriedly.

"Hear what?" Jemma asked just as she heard Kora's voice coming through the hidden door.

"They have to be here somewhere," they heard Kora say through the walls.

"They're looking for us," Daisy said worriedly, "It's way too early, something must have happened. Jemma jumped up and opened the hidden door. Kora and Deke jumped and Kora's hands went up in a defensive position, ready to use her powers. "It's just us," Daisy said stepping out behind Jemma. Kora relaxed when she saw her friend and her sister.

"Thank goodness we found you," Deke said, "the others have been captured." "It's kind of my fault, I forgot the signal." Kora shook her head.

"No, it's not!" Kora said pausing. "I forgot too…. I was a little… distracted." Kora said softly.

"You were huh?" "By what?" Daisy asked teasingly. Kora made a face and gave her sister a friendly shove. Daisy grinned. Jemma sighed.

"I doubt Cal even gave the signal in the first place," Jemma commented changing the subject back.

"Speaking of, how are we supposed to know if you're talking about Cal or Coulson if you call them both dad?" Deke asked Daisy. Daisy shrugged,

"You won't have to, I decided to call Cal Bá-Ba."

"Bá-Ba?" Deke repeated confused.

"That's the Chinese word for dad," Kora explained.

"We'd better get moving, the others are probably wondering what's taking us so long," Daisy said. "Does anyone know how to get to the dungeon?" She asked. When the others all either shook their head no or shrugged, Daisy sighed. "Okay then, vibrations it is," Daisy said as she sent vibrations through the castle. "This way," Daisy said a minute later.

Daisy led the others through the castle to the dungeon, knocked out the guards, and quaked the door down. Fortunately, the others were all smart enough to stay away from the door. "Let's get you guys out of here before more guards come," Daisy said waving for her team to follow her back to the secret room to regroup.

Later in the secret room.

"So how did you lose the thrown in the first place?" Piper asked Cal.

"Oh, I lost the royal challenge," Cal answered.

"What's the royal challenge?" asked Melody.

"Risk," Cal replied.

"Risk?!" "You lost the thrown because you lost Risk?!" Daisy asked.

"It's a little more complicated than that you first have to hit the button which the king can guard however he wants," Cal told them.

"When we overthrow him, you're changing that rule," Daisy said causing the others to nod in agreement.

"So, all we have to do is get you through the defense?" Kora asked and Cal nodded.

Coulson smiled. "We can do that," he said, "that we can do."

Ten minutes later, Daisy, May, Yo-Yo, and Piper had taken out the guards in front of the laser grid. Daisy easily dodged the moving lasers and slipped through the still ones. When she reached the other side Daisy hit the button to deactivate the lasers. Doing so allowed Cal to press the challenge button. Daisy would have hit the button but then she would have been the one challenging the thrown not Cal.

As soon as Cal had hit the button a trumpet call sounded through the castle. "Now What?" Deke asked.

"We meet my brother in the game room," Cal replied. "The rules state that any family member can help at any time in any way," Cal added, "so we have the advantage."

When they reached the game room Tuamon was there waiting for them not looking too happy. "The game is set up," he said grouchily. "Who are they?" Tuamon asked his brother.

"This is my daughter Daisy and her friends," Cal replied gesturing first to Daisy, who stood beside him, then to the others behind them. When both players had all their pieces on the board, they were ready to begin. As the game progressed Daisy used her powers to manipulate the dice putting Cal in the position to win. Tuamon was getting frustrated, fully aware of what his niece was doing and knowing he had no one to help him. He scowled as Cal took his last men down winning the game and the throne.

"No!" "No!" No!" he yelled, "This can't be happening!"

Cal smirked, "Now that I am reinstated as king, I'm burning that law," Cal said losing a record book into the fire. "Lock my brother in the dungeon and tell the army to stand down," Cal told a nearby guard who had witnessed the whole event.

"Yes sir!" the guard replied pulling Tuamon behind him. Cal turned to his daughter.

"I guess you will be needing to leave now," he said. Daisy nodded and hugged him.

"See you Bába," Daisy said letting go of the hug.

"See you later kiddo," he said smiling and Daisy smiled back.

The day after they got back May and Coulson were intercepted by none other than Amelia Handhawk. "Why am I the only one who remembers your daughters and wedding?" she asked. May and Coulson looked at each other, once again Amelia Handhawk had dropped a mystery into their hands.
