"Hold Steady!" Clarisse shouted as she ran towards the battle and took up a spot just in front of the tree knowing that if anything happened to it, then the camp would be further in trouble.

Just behind her, Silena appeared with a bow and a quiver full of arrows, examining the battle in front of them. A large group of demigods comprised mainly of the Ares and Apollo Cabin were stationed, huddled together, carrying large shields and spears while the Apollo cabin had their bows and arrows.

A loud roar sounded through the battle site and a large torrent of fire came spiralling towards them.

"GET DOWN!" Clarisse shouted.

Everyone did so and hit the deck while those with shields put it over their heads to block any flicks of fire that went astray. They all heard loud footsteps coming towards them and at the last minute saw what was charging at them.

They were fighting large bronze bulls the size of pickup trucks with razor sharp horns and could shoot fire out of the their mouth and nose. They quickly counted and thanked the gods they were only fighting three of them. Though they knew it would still be a challenge no doubt.

The boundaries strength was not strong enough to keep them out so the demi gods knew they were the only line of defense they had right now.

"Roll!" Silena shouted as everyone listened and rolled out of the way to avoid the charging pulls. Though a son of Ares rolled a little late and got his left legs crushed by one of the charging bulls.

"Get him out of here!" Clarisse said, seeing one of her siblings hurt as one of Apollo's children went over, helped him up and got him out of the battle zone.

Silena meanwhile fired off a round of arrows towards the bronze bulls. Some managed to inflict some kind of damage, if the cries from the bull were any indication. However, it was still made of bronze and therefore it was very resilient. They all knew it would take a lot to bring these three monsters down.

Another one of the bulls charged at the line of demigods but this time, Clarisse intercepted and threw a spear at the bulls body.

The spear hit and stuck right in-between its ribs but it kept going, much to her annoyance as she watched it barrel into the line of demigods. The only reason there weapons were working was because they were made of celestial bronze. Any other metal and it would have just bounced of the bull's bronze skin.

As the two bulls stormed forward, the third had noticed Silena firing arrows at the hides of the bulls and noticed she was having a lot of success.

Roaring and tossing it's head around, it scraped its right back leg and hoof before it charged forwards and towards Silena.

"SILENA RUN!" Clarisse shouted as she managed to see the third bull go after her while she took on the second bull.

Silena sprinted across the hill top with the bull charging after her and was slowly gaining speed. However, she knew if it was not for Damian's training advice and pointers then the bull would have most likely already got her.

Since she began Damian's training schedule he made for her, her stamina, finesse and overall body strength had increase greatly and would have put last year's Silena to shame. Even at school she had taken up running and gymnastics. Running to help with the stamina and speed and gymnastics with her balance and flexibility.

Damian had told her if she could not really on her strength and speed, then her flexibility and balance would be her positives. Plus she couldn't help but notice her body had developed a lot more in the past year and her body had become very toned and curved. So much so, it put other girls to shame and made them jealous at her amazing figure.

Still sprinting away from the Bull, Silena circled around the tree, hopping to use it as an obstacle for the bull that could help slow it down which, thankfully, it did. When the bull went around the tree it had to slow down in order to move in the other direction, therefore getting rid of whatever momentum it had gained.

Seeing she had gained enough distance from the bull, Silena took out another few arrows, aimed and fired towards the bull.

Of the three arrows she managed to fire, two hit the bull in the stomach while another went straight through it's eye, causing it to roar out in pain.

Grinning at the great shot, she let her guard down and did not hear the trampling steps coming from behind her.

"SILENA MOVE!" Clarisse shouted as she dodged torrent of flames from the bull she was fighting.

"What?" Silena asked, not understanding before her eyes widened when she saw fire heading straight towards her.

She jumped and rolled to the side and managed to dodge the fire coming toward her. However, while she was in mid air she felt something as powerful as a tank knock into her that knocked her to the side and knocked the wind right out of her.

The bull that had been fighting the group of demigods had decided to charge at Silena while she had her guard down.

Clarisse saw her friend take the hit from the bull and was trying to go over to her but the bull she was fighting seemed to have a thing for fire. All it did was shoot fireball after fireball and she could do nothing but dodge or bring her shield up.

Struggling to breath and thinking a few of her ribs might have been cracked from the hit. Silena knew if it was not for her armour then her chest probably would be smoosh right now.

Steering up onto her knees, she looked in front of her only to see the bull that had hit her had gone back to fighting the group of Ares and Apollo kids that were trying to isolate it away from the other. But the bull she had previously been fighting, with the arrows in it's eyes, was eyeing her closely before smoke billowed out of its snout.

Letting out a roar, it stamped on the ground before it charged right towards her.

Silena tried to get out of the way but the pain in her chest was stopping her form moving. Looking up, the bull was getting closer and closer.

'Not like this.' She thought as she could hear Clarisse screaming at her to get out of the way still trying to get over towards her.

The bull was only ten meters away from her prepared for impact and believed she would be making a one way trip to underworld in a matter of moments.

"SILENA NOOOO!" Clarisse shouted before-

BANG! BANG!

Two gunshots pierced right through the bull's head before Damian landed in a roll, stood right up and began firing at the remaining bulls. Silena stared at him in shock from where she laid before Annabeth was at her side, picking her up and bringing her out of the battle.

"Come on, we have to get you to a healer." The daughter of Athena said. "Damian can handle things."

"Get her to the medical bay, Annabeth!" Damian said as he unsheathed Judgement and knocked a bull aside.

Annabeth nodded and took Silena with him, the daughter of Aphrodite's eyes never leaving Damian's form as she watched him do battle with the bulls before jogging over to where Clarisse was shouting at Percy.

'He's home.' Silena thought with a smile, happy that the boy she had feelings for was finally back.

Damian made his way over to Clarisse and Percy. Percy had Clarisse in his arms, having grabbed Clarisse by the straps of her armor and pulled her out of the way of a bull. It did not make the daughter of the God of War happy though.

"Let me go!" Clarisse pummeled Percy's hand. "Percy, curse you!"

Percy dropped her in a heap next to the pine tree and took on the bulls with Tyson. Damian shook his head before he offered a hand for Clarisse, which she took and he pulled her to her feet.

"You up for tag-teaming this bull?" Damian asked as they eyed the other bull.

Clarisse nodded. "These bulls are really starting to piss me off, and that one hurt Silena." She said, gritting her teeth. They faced the bull which stared at them.

Damian turned around to look at the campers that were with them and sent them back to camp. He knew that together he, Percy, Tyson and Clarisse could get rid of the bulls. The campers hesitantly agreed before sprinting back to camp. Looking over at Percy, Damian saw Percy had managed to inflict a large gash on the side of the bull, though it kept on going.

Gripping Judgement in hand, Damian and Clarisse prepared themselves as the bull they were facing shot out a fireball at them, causing them to duck to opposite sides to avoid becoming BBQ.

"Woah, talk about a quick BBQ." Damian quipped. "Time to snap the horns off this bull."

"Damn right." Clarisse nodded. "What's the plan?"

Damian smirked. "Slash through it's sides and legs, that should weaken it enough for the killing blow."

"Got it."

The two demigods charged as the bull charged at them, head lowered so it's horns can ram into them. At the last second, Damian and Clarisse locked eyes, nodded, before they rolled to opposite sides, avoiding the bull but they held their weapons out and slashed right through the bull's side and legs a Damian planned, causing it to limp and stagger.

"Clarisse, he's all yours." Damian called to the daughter of war.

Clarisse grinned. "Good."

Rushing over, she bashed the bull on the front of the head with her shield a little, managing to daze it a little before bringing her sword down on to the bull and impaling it.

The bull groaned a little before collapsing to the ground and began turning to dust.

Once it was completely gone, all that remained was a golden horn which Damian picked up and gave to Clarisse who looked a little taken back by it.

"You killed it, so it's yours." Damian said. Clarisse gave a rare smile that she only reversed for those she called friends and took the horn, pocketing it, though she did give him a bronze horn from the bull Damian killed.

"Tyson!" They heard Percy shout and looked to see the last bull unleash fire on Tyson. The blast swirled around him like a red tornado. But when the fire died, Tyson was still standing there, completely unharmed. Not even his grungy clothes were scorched.

The bull must've been as surprised as Percy and Clarisse were, because before it could unleash a second blast, Tyson balled his fists and slammed them into the bull's face. "BAD COW!"

His fists made a crater where the bronze bull's snout used to be. Two small columns of flame shot out of its ears. Tyson hit it again, and the bronze crumpled under his hands like aluminum foil.

The bull's face now looked like a sock puppet pulled inside out.

"Down!" Tyson yelled.

The bull staggered and fell on its back. Its legs moved feebly in the air, steam coming out of its ruined head in odd places.

"Damn." Damian chuckled. "Tyson's got some Hulk rage in him."

Clarisse elbowed him and pointed at Tyson. "Why the Hades is there a Cyclops here?!" She hissed.

"Chill, Clarisse, he's with us." Damian said. "He's a friend. If he were some evil monster, don't you think I would've dealt with it by now?"

Clarisse stared at him but dropped it. She then marched over to begin yelling at Percy. Damian shook his head in amusement before he looked at Thalia's tree and his smile dropped when he saw the state of it.

It was a sickly yellow and the bark looked like it was rotting away and there were barely any leaves left on it. Just looking at it he knew it would not survive the summer.

Getting into camp, Damian saw kids being brought through on stretchers either being taken to the medical bay or being taken back to their cabin. Some of the building looked like they had taken a beating and saw that the strawberry field had about half the amount of people working in them as they did the year before.

He walked passed Beckendorf, a son of Hephaestus who was escorting one of his siblings who had his arm in a sling. The two nodded to each other as they passed each other.

Clarisse separated from them wanting to go and check on Silena which Damian agreed with. When she departed from them, they made their way to the big house where they knew Chiron would be stationed.

It only took a few minutes' walk before they ended up at the big house where the doors on the porch were wide open. Entering the big house, they found Chiron inside listening to his 1960s music with Annabeth there as well, having just arrived after taking Silena to the medical bay.

As soon as they saw him, Tyson froze. "Pony!" he cried in total rapture.

Chiron turned, looking offended. "I beg your pardon?"

Damian snorted in amusement.

"Chiron, what's happening? You're not ... leaving?" Annabeth said. Everyone noticed her voice was shaky and was coming to the same conclusion she had if the bags Chiron were holding was any indication.

Chiron nodded a little glumly but perked up when he looked at Percy and Damian.

"Percy, my goodness. You've grown over the year and Damian, you are looking very well," he said patting the both on the shoulders.

Percy swallowed. "Clarisse said you were … you were …"

"Fired. " Chiron's eyes glinted with dark humor. "Ah, well, someone had to take the blame. Lord Zeus was most upset. The tree he'd created from the spirit of his daughter, poisoned! Mr. D had to punish someone."

"But this is crazy!" Annabeth cried. "Chiron, you couldn't have had anything to do with poisoning Thalia's tree!"

"Nevertheless," Chiron sighed, "some in Olympus do not trust me now, under the circumstances. "

"But there are some that are on your side?" Damian asked. Chiron nodded a little hesitantly.

"Apollo, Hermes, Artemis and Poseidon don't believe it was me but the others wondered how I could let such a thing happen under my very nose and have begun to doubt me. They have already sent my replacement."

"Who is it?" Annabeth asked, not liking who Zeus must have appointed.

"Tantalus." He said grimly.

"Oh great, so we have to deal with a child-eater, wonderful." Damian said sarcastically. yeah, he's read the story of Tantalus.

"Chiron," Percy said. "What about the tree? What happened?"

He shook his head sadly. "The poison used on Thalia's pine is something from the Underworld, Percy. Some venom even I have never seen. It must have come from a monster quite deep in the pits of Tartarus. "

"Then we know who's responsible. Kro—"

"Do not invoke the Titan lord's name, Percy. Especially not here, not now. "

"But last summer he tried to cause a civil war in Olympus! This has to be his idea. He'd get Luke to do it, that traitor."

"Perhaps," Chiron said. "But I fear I am being held responsible because I did not prevent it and I cannot cure it. The tree has only a few weeks of life left unless …"

"Unless what?" Annabeth asked.

"No," Chiron said. "A foolish thought. The whole valley is feeling the shock of the poison. The magical borders are deteriorating. The camp itself is dying. Only one source of magic would be strong enough to reverse the poison, and it was lost centuries ago. "

"What is it?" Percy asked. "We'll go find it!"

Chiron rested his hand on Percy's shoulder and looked the son of Poseidon straight in the eyes. "Percy, you must promise me that you will not act rashly. I told your mother and Damian that I did not want you to come here at all this summer. It's much too dangerous. But now that you are here, stay here. Train hard. Learn to fight. But do not leave. It is not safe."

Percy looked like he wanted to argue but a look from Damian silenced him.

Annabeth was trying hard not to cry. Chiron brushed a tear from her cheek. "Stay with Percy, child," he told her. "Keep him safe. The prophecy—remember it!"

"I—I will. "

"Um …" Percy said. "Would this be the super-dangerous prophecy that has me in it, but the gods have forbidden you to tell me about?"

Nobody answered.

"Right," Percy muttered. "Just checking. "

"Chiron …" Annabeth said. "You told me the gods made you immortal only so long as you were needed to train heroes. If they dismiss you from camp—"

"Swear you will do your best to keep Percy from danger," he insisted. "Swear upon the River Styx. "

"I—I swear it upon the River Styx," Annabeth said.

Thunder rumbled outside.

"Very well," Chiron said. He seemed to relax just a little. "Perhaps my name will be cleared and I shall return. Until then, I go to visit my wild kinsmen in the Everglades. It's possible they know of some cure for the poisoned tree that I have forgotten. In any event, I will stay in exile until this matter is resolved … one way or another. "

Annabeth stifled a sob. Chiron patted her shoulder awkwardly. "There, now, child. I must entrust your safety to Mr. D and the new activities director. We must hope … well, perhaps they won't destroy the camp quite as quickly as I fear. "

Later on

Damian walked with Percy and Tyson toward the dining pavilion, all a little anxious at how everyone would take Tyson being with them and what the new activities director would be like.

As they stepped through the entrance of the pavilion everyone gave a cheer at seeing Damian and Percy back at camp, though they did all throw glances toward Tyson who was shuffling behind them. Some looked disgusted while others just looked more curious.

Thankfully though, Damian simply glared at those that did say anything nasty and it quickly shut them up. He saw Clarisse sitting with her siblings and she gave him a nod when she saw him. Then towards Annabeth who gave him a quick wave before continuing her conversation with her siblings. He looked over at the Demeter table and locked eyes with Katie Gardner, giving her a nod which she gave back. Over where the Artemis table was. Shadow and Luna were sat at the front, each enjoying a large piece of meat the wood nymphs ad prepared for them.

'Jeez, if it ain't a big pizza, it's a big piece of meat,' Damian thought.

Then he looked to the Aphrodite table and he quickly felt a weight lift from him when he saw Silena. She looked a little banged up but overall she looked okay and she was laughing, which was a good sign.

She saw him staring at her and blushed a little before she waved at him and gave him a cheeky wink that made him smile as he waved back. When he did, her sisters obviously saw because they began giggling.

Then they moved to the front of the pavilion where they saw Mr. D looking like he always did and wearing his usual Leopard print shirt. He gave a small glare towards Percy though he nodded towards Damian since Damian was the one demigod he actually tolerated to some degree.

Though some think it's because if he did anything to Damian, then Artemis would come gunning for him.

Then Damian looked at the man sitting where Chiron usually stood. To put it bluntly, in Damian's opinion, the guy looked like total shit.

He was a pale, horribly thin man in a threadbare orange prisoner's jumpsuit. The number over his pocket read 0001. He had blue shadows under his eyes, dirty fingernails, and badly cut gray hair, like his last haircut had been done with a weed whacker. His eyes were on Percy at the moment.

"This boy," Dionysus told him, "you need to watch. Poseidon's child, you know. "

"Ah!" the prisoner said. "That one. "

His tone made it obvious that he and Dionysus had already discussed Percy at length.

"I am Tantalus," the prisoner said, smiling coldly. "On special assignment here until, well, until my Lord Dionysus decides otherwise. And you, Perseus Jackson, I do expect you to refrain from causing any more trouble. "

"Trouble?" Percy demanded.

Dionysus snapped his fingers. A newspaper appeared on the table—the front page of today's New York Post, There was Damian and Percy's yearbook pictures from Meriwether Prep. It was hard for both boys to make out the headline, but they had a pretty good guess what it said. Something like: Crazy kids Torches Gymnasium.

"Oh joy, back in the news again." Damian muttered. he thought he'd be done with that after what happened last summer.

"Yes, trouble," Tantalus said with satisfaction. "You caused plenty of it last summer, I understand. "

A satyr inched forward nervously and set a plate of barbecue in front of Tantalus. The new activities director licked his lips. He looked at his empty goblet and said, "Root beer. Barq's special stock. 1967. "

The glass filled itself with foamy soda. Tantalus stretched out his hand hesitantly, as if he were afraid the goblet was hot.

"Go on, then, old fellow," Dionysus said, a strange sparkle in his eyes. "Perhaps now it will work. "

Tantalus grabbed for the glass, but it scooted away before he could touch it. A few drops of root beer spilled, and Tantalus tried to dab them up with his fingers, but the drops rolled away like quicksilver before he could touch them. He growled and turned toward the plate of barbecue. He picked up a fork and tried to stab a piece of brisket, but the plate skittered down the table and flew off the end, straight into the coals of the brazier.

"Blast!" Tantalus muttered.

"Ah, well," Dionysus said, his voice dripping with false sympathy. "Perhaps a few more days. Believe me, old chap, working at this camp will be torture enough. I'm sure your old curse will fade eventually. "

"Eventually," muttered Tantalus, staring at Dionysus's Diet Coke. "Do you have any idea how dry one's throat gets after three thousand years?"

"You're that spirit from the Fields of Punishment," Percy said. "The one who stands in the lake with the fruit tree hanging over you, but you can't eat or drink. "

Tantalus sneered at him. "A real scholar, aren't you, boy?"

Go sit down, Johnson," Dionysus sighed. "I believe that table over there is yours—the one where no one else ever wants to sit."

"Come on, Tyson," Percy said as the three went to leave but Tantalus's voice rang out.

"Oh, no," Tantalus said. "The monster stays here. We must decide what to do with it."

"Tyson saved the camp," Percy insisted. "He helped defeat those bronze bulls. If he didn't, it might have injured even more people or worse."

"Yes," Tantalus sighed, "and what a pity that would've been."

Percy went to go sit at the Poseidon table when a light went off from above Tyson's head. Everyone covered their eyes at first before they all saw a trident symbol appear above his head, getting surprised looks from Damian and Percy.

Though the surprise was broken when Tantalus began laughing from his seat. "Yes I can see the resemblance. Another one of Poseidon's tossed children," he said as many in the pavilion began laughing.

Though one look from Damian's glaring silver eyes made them stop laughing.

Tantalus then looked at Damian. "So, this is the infamous son of Artemis that everyone's been talking about. Wonder how that must feel, that your mother is against men and yet she had-"

Damian pulled out Dusk and aimed it at Tantalus. "Keep talking... and I'll be sure you to recommend you as target practice to the Hunters the next time they arrive here."

With that, Damian walked to the Artemis table.

The meal then went on without any more incidents. Damian made his offering to his mother and godmother as others made their offering to their parents. Though Damian did see Percy have an uneasy look on his face. No doubt he was getting use to the fact that Tyson, who he earlier found out was a Cyclops, was also his half brother.

Damian then tuned out when Tantalus began making a speech as did many others. Though all he did hear was that the chariot races were going to be brought back and would happen in one week.

By the time the meal ended, many were heading to the amphitheater for some camp songs and stories. Damian chose to skip it for one night and get some sleep.

He was just putting a foot on the first step of his mother's cabin when he heard a familiar voice. "You okay?"

He turned and saw Silena standing there, looking at him with concern. Damian felt his breath hitch and his jaw almost drop as he took her in, seeing how much she had changed since he last saw her in person.

Though she looked a little banged up, she was fine. Her camp shirt constricted against her body very well. Her figure was the most developed of the girl's that he'd seen, curves in all the right places with a bit of muscle due to the training she's been through which made her look more hotter. Large breasts that he could fit his hands in and squeeze properly, Damian didn't know the size but he didn't care, wide hips, slim waist, and long legs...

Damian had to admit, Silena looed sexy as hell. She was only 15, yet had a body that could put adult models to shame. If this is what she looked like in her teens, Damian could only imagine what she'll look like as an adult. It made certain urges start to plague him but he ignored them.

"hey." Silena snapped her fingers in front of him, getting him to blink and he saw her blushing and smirking at him. "My eyes are up here."

"Wha...?" Damian asked, confused.

Silena giggled. "You were staring at my legs and breasts for a few moments. Who would've though the son of Artemis is a pervert."

"Shut up! I didn't mean it! I-" Silena silenced him by putting a finger to his lips.

"Shhh~" She practically purred out seductively. "As a daughter of Aphrodite, I do enjoy such attention on my body. I know you aren't a pervert, Damian. I'm just messing with you. It's nice to see you again."

Damian smiled at her. "Yeah, same to you. How've you been?"

"The usual. training hard like you said." Silena smiled, putting a hand on her hip. "Practicing with a bow, arrows, a sword, not sure about guns yet since we don't exactly have them here at camp, much to the Ares' kids disappointment."

Damian snorted in amusement at that.

"What about you?" Silena asked.

"Oh the usual as well, hunting demons, annoying my dad, and I got a new partner with demon hunting." Damian said. "His name's Nero, bit of a asshole but he's alright."

Silena snorted and giggled before she walked up and hugged him, surpising him but he hugged her back, blushing as he felt her breasts press against his chest.

"I've missed you." She muttered in his ear.

"Missed you too." Damian said softly and they pulled away a little, their arms still wrapped around each other as they stared into each other's eyes.

Neither noticed their heads inching closer and closer, lips starting to come closer to the other's.

Their lips were only inches away from meeting when Silena's name began getting called out and they saw her sisters ushering for her to come with them to the amphitheater.

"I-I will see you later." Silena said. blushing and stuttering a little as was Damian before she sprinted off, leaving Damian by himself. He opened his cabin door only to feel two furry lumps pass his leg and saw Shadow and Luna looking up at him.

He smiled. "Come on guys. Let's gets some rest," he said before he closed the door behind them and turned in early.

Looks like Damian and Silena are getting much closer and are on the verge of finally confessing to each other... but when will it happen?
