Yo yo yo. I'm sorry about the short chapter, but that's the way the cookie crumbles I suppose. I hope you love it and it's everything you've hoped and dreamed about. I send my best to your hearts and fully hope that I crush them today. I may have botched this, but we'll see. Leave comments? :)

I could've surprised myself with how hard I knocked Thanos to the ground if it weren't for my anger taking over most of my thoughts.
Should've thrown him off the cliff.
I screamed with a hit landing hard across Thanos's face before he could throw me off and I went sliding backwards through the rubble of a seemingly empty planet. Tony would appear any moment though, I was sure of it.
"Jote ocrech!" I threw my hands at him with the incantation from my ear, watching as an alien with tentacles swarmed him through a portal, effectively distracting Thanos while I manifested a sword and electrified it.
Thanos tore a tentacle off the kraken and raised his gauntlet to squeeze and then explode the creature. As the portal diminished and disappeared, I swung at Thanos with my sword and hit the gauntlet he used to defend himself. He closed his fist again and used the power stone with a hard blast that only tickled up my spine.
I stopped on the ground, watching the energy trail into my hands and chest like it was drawn to me. While he was distracted, my eyes fell on the source of the energy in his gauntlet for only a moment, turning into my newest goal. I laid a punch to his chest and sent him stumbling back while I followed. My fists bloodied and cracked with each blow, hit after hit until my hands were numb. Tears streamed down my cheeks, clouding my vision. The numbing of adrenaline and purple energy was enough to keep me on my streak too with the blood of Thanos actually mixing with mine at one point.
Blood smeared on my face when I went to wipe my cheeks of the tears. The blurring from the tears resolved enough for me to make out the whole of my enemy again.
He tried to get up in my pause, but not before my hand connected with the thing that had been calling my name since the moment I laid eyes on it. My fingers wrapped around the power stone and I stumbled back from the immediate effects. The lacerations on my hands closed up with just the caked blood now coating my knuckles and I could feel my exhaustion and the burning in my lungs just melt through my feet while I held that stone.
Thanos got back to his feet and wiped the blood from his face with his hand.
He took a careful breath and locked eyes with me again. "That's not yours."
I shook my head, gripping the stone tighter in my hand and feeling the tight grin of victory slide over my face while I stared him down. "Fuck you."
I was on him again and I felt lost in the fight after the first few blows, his hits barely registering in my brain while all I had running in my head was the thought of my best friend. We tore at each other, me taking little to no regard for my own wellbeing as I thanked the stone for being the only thing keeping my hands and stamina intact at this point.
Thanos managed to throw me off him again and I landed on my feet a good many yards away with the stone still tight in my hand. Standing up straight, I furrowed my brow in confusion at the landscape finally, taking deep breaths.
"You humans are so feeble." Thanos barely interrupted my thoughts, "I don't tire like you will. Fight if you must, but know that if you continue with this madness, I won't show you mercy."
"They're not here." I stated, looking towards the crashed ship that was still smoking with a pit of worry starting to push aside the anger. "Why aren't they here?"
Tony, Stephen, Quill…hell, I told Gamora to meet me here. I glanced around our surroundings as subtly as I could, trying to keep my frantic thoughts under control. Why is the ship here but not my back-up?
Thanos only glanced at the ship before looking back at me suspiciously.
"You did this." I accused finally, looking up and around with the stone in my fist. "This isn't real."
The reality stone didn't shine in Thanos's fist, but for all I knew, that wasn't even him. After all, I knew the Guardians would be here with Tony and Stephen at the very least. They weren't though. That never occurred to me as odd until I was standing here now alone with the titan. We were supposed to be able to beat him here, but…they were nowhere to be found.
My lack of back-up on Titan was alarming, though I had other things to worry about. You know, like the massive alien raising his gauntlet to draw me back into another fight. I was only now processing the weight of their absence, especially as Thanos's frustration finally gave him the upper hand.
"She said she wanted a word with you when she saw you again." Tony mentioned, blasting down aliens in a line with Rhodey taking the other side of the field.
Suits had been deployed and everyone was protected in a swarm of nanobots in the form of a custom-made super suit. Even Bucky and Steve had accepted their suits when they came in and seemed happier for it. Tony was proud to see his work holding up, especially around the kid who had clung to this battle like he needed to be there.
"She says that a lot." Strange huffed, "About stranding her on Sakaar, I'm sure."
"I know why she's upset with you."
Tony rolled his eyes. "Alright, God of Deception, I gave you a com for practical uses, not to butt in where we don't need you."
Loki slashed the head of an alien off before it could bite down on a Wakandan soldier and then looked up at Tony in the air with a small glare. "She didn't like relying on my help either. As if my selfless offer was somehow a choice."
"Yeah, I'm sure you helped her." Tony scoffed to himself, landing on the ground beside Loki and blasting two aliens before they got too close. "Helping, of course, for you would be stabbing someone in the back."
"Am I not helping now?" Loki replied bitterly, standing directly beside him and thrusting a knife into the throat of an alien dog.
Tony blasted it back and stopped to face Loki directly, flipping off his mask.
Loki didn't flinch, staring back and swishing his hand at an alien running at them, making its head split in half. It slid to a stop right by their feet, but neither looked away. Tony just tried to get a read on him for the sake of his kid.
"Jesus." Tony cursed after a minute of that and blasted another alien coming up behind Loki.
"What?" Steve asked over the coms.
"Loki actually helped her." Wanda filled in for them, pacing behind Loki on her way to a different horde of monsters. "He's not lying."
Tony opened his mouth to say more as the battleground almost quieted a little. Then, his eyes caught what it was that slowed the aliens and watched as Lincoln came flying out of a cloud of blue and was quickly followed by who he could only assume was Thanos himself. Lincoln was pinned to the ground by her neck and Tony felt his stomach drop in fear.
"Miss Rogers!" Peter gasped over the coms while Tony got the notification that her suit was inbound.
Tony left the ground quickly, but not before Lincoln's scream of pain filled the air. Purple energy was streaming out of her and being absorbed into the gauntlet. Thanos was robbing her of her power.
Peter was caught out of the air by an alien on his way, making Tony the first to reach her. He kicked Thanos with both feet downwards and landed on the ground with a fist ready to throw another hit. Lincoln laid with her eyelids fluttering and the suit he made for her starting to wrap around her.
Thanos growled with anger and blew Tony back with the power stone, making him crash hard into the ground and leave a crater. Tony was pushing himself back up in time to see Loki get thrown away too as Thanos picked up Lincoln's weak form.
Peter shot a web at Thanos's leg that made the alien stumble upon being pulled. He held Lincoln by the neck and tore the web off himself before raising Tony's kid out challengingly.
Tony froze in place with Loki and Peter doing the same, watching Thanos hold the kid hostage.
"Bring me the stones." Thanos demanded in a low tone, looking at Dr. Strange. "Or I'll tear them from your corpses."
Lincoln's hand reached up weakly to grab onto Thanos's wrist, but it was clear that whatever fight she had in her was long gone. Tony watched with bile rising in his throat as the small area came to a standstill and Lincoln mouthed out a desperate plea.
'Help.'
"Let her go, or I swear, I'll make sure you wish you were never shat out by whatever monster made you." Tony snapped back, holding his ground nearby and trying to calculate a way to grab her without risking her life.
"You won't do it." Peter challenged too, his voice breaking a little and adding to Tony's worry. "If you kill her, we won't give you anything."
Loki's expression twitched with a surprisingly hard glare locked on Thanos too. Tony was almost surprised by how personal it looked to Loki now that Thanos was holding Lincoln by the throat. Then again, the kid had a way of weaseling into the hearts of those around her. Perhaps it wasn't so off-base to consider that Loki actually cared about her these days.
"I will restore peace to the universe." Thanos stated evenly, "Your ignorance hides you from what needs to be done. And your need to save everyone will get me what I want."
"I'm sworn to protect the time stone." Strange added, not taking his eyes off the alien while Tony's helmet showed footage of Steve sneaking around behind Thanos. "Her death is not comparable to the trillions that you will kill if I give it away."
Thanos cocked an eyebrow at him while Tony was practically shaking in anticipation to grab his kid away from danger. The reality stone sparkled slightly in the corner of Tony's eye, but he was far too focused on Lincoln to notice or care.
"Have it your way." Thanos lit up the power stone bright and Lincoln's body below her neck was pulled tight in the air with her eyes bulging in her head.
Her mouth opened to gasp for air with her fingers digging into Thanos's wrist in her panic. Tony was milliseconds from just jumping at Thanos before Strange shouted again.
"Don't!"
The pulling stopped and Lincoln's nose bled while she choked for more air and dangled high up.
"Alright," Strange reached for his pendent and opened it. "Just don't kill her."
Thanos held out the gauntlet-covered hand expectantly and Peter twitched from his spot, ready to grab at Lincoln too. Strange stepped up closer and offered out the stone.
"WAIT!" Loki shouted, holding out a hand when Steve made a move.
Steve lunged at the back of Thanos with the sharp end of his shield as if to stab him in the back and Tony looked on as the shield went through Thanos like a knife through butter. However, the lack of reaction from the Alien only made sense as a red glowing line ran over his body. Thanos's illusion rippled and Steve's eyes widened with Tony's as Thanos' position changed until his back was facing Tony and both arms were outstretched. His bare hand was held out harmlessly and holding the time stone while the gauntlet had Lincoln dangling as a shield between himself and Steve.
Peeking out of Lincoln's back was the bloodied end of Steve's 'new and improved' Wakandan shield.
Blood dripped down the corner of her mouth while her body was then unceremoniously dropped by Thanos as he turned to connect the Time stone to his collection. Tony could have thrown up right then as he watched the weapon slide deeper through her in Steve's attempt to catch her from falling. Her body was limp and her eyes a horrible vacant stare.
"I'm sorry." Steve's voice broke as he set her down on the ground carefully while Tony was frozen in place. "Hey, it's okay. I'm getting you help."
Tony took one heavy step towards Lincoln before stopping with his knees feeling weak. "Rogers?"
"One more." Thanos flexed his hand and the space stone lit up.
Loki charged him through the portal and disappeared at the same time lighting and a crack of thunder filled the sky. Tony couldn't find himself to care about those things, however, as he managed to stumble closer to his kid and kneel beside her.
"I didn't see her." Steve looked up at Tony worriedly with his hand clutching hers.
Tony just stared down, his eyes fixated on the gaping hole that Steve made in her chest. "Why would you do that?"
Loki felt only anger when he threw himself at Thanos and landed hard in a cool building. It was just his luck that he'd finally manage to find someone that he related to, only for them to be brutally murdered a few weeks later. It was almost like the universe had it out for him. With any other acquaintance too, he might not even find himself filled with such rage after their untimely death..
This one felt personal.
Loki moved a young girl from Thanos's line of fire while simultaneously blocking the hit that would've gotten her. He sent her sliding back on the platform with the box holding the mind stone not that far off. An android inserted himself into the fight too, but Loki was less entitled to try and remove him as he actually seemed to be able to do some damage. In the meantime, Loki cast a spell over the box and quickly kicked the real one across the room.
Unfortunately, Loki is only one god and this android was not quite the competition for Thanos that they felt they were.
The mounds of desperation came shoving up as Loki stumbled back to his feet after a particularly hard throw to the ground. Thanos rolled the stone in his hand almost teasingly, giving Loki just the chance he needed to take several steps closer.
"Soon," Thanos spoke, making Loki stop in his tracks. "You too will understand."
"I should never have humored your madness." Loki's illusion snipped, out of breath while Loki stalked around behind Thanos.
"You were younger." Thanos raised a hand to place the stone on the gauntlet, "Easy to fool."
Loki jumped then at the same time the Mind stone hit the gauntlet, locking his arm around the golden death sentence and touching the space stone. Thanos shouted in anger through the pain of absorbing the power of a final stone and Loki kicked hard against the wall, throwing them both backwards through a portal to the battlefield.
"Brother!"
His shout was his last ditch attempt as he felt his arm crushing in Thanos's grip. That broken arm was the only thing left holding their enemy back from snapping his fingers.
Honestly, Loki wished that it wasn't him at that moment. He swore he'd never let any of these so-called 'heroes' live down that their last rival was their potential savior if he could pull this off. Though, as the seconds passed, it felt less and less like he'd get out of this and Thanos's other hand reached out to grab him by the head.
Loki cringed, expecting the darkness of possible death to hit him, only to be fed with the continual nauseating pain in his arm.
"Mr. Barnes!"
Loki opened his eyes again and avoided the scene of his arms to see how the young boy, Peter, had Thanos's opposite arm tethered out by a web. He jerked forwards and down to the ground with Thanos as a super soldier kicked the titan in the back of the knees.
One after another, these heroes arrived and got a hold on Thanos, leaving Loki in a position of relief.
"Let go of me!" Thanos roared, nearly paralyzed by the holds of many previous bystanders.
Thor came into Loki's sight and Loki had to bite back a cry as Thanos's glove shifted to try and pull closed around his unsalvageable mess of a limb. He got a nod from his brother right before the ax was swung, severing Thanos's arm from the shoulder. A wind of blue caught the arm before it dragged Loki to the ground with it and Loki caught sight of the kid as he gestured him along to move away.
"Come on." Stephen Strange agreed, sliding out the time stone and storing it again before helping to move them several yards away.
When Thor joined them, Loki looked back at the living titan in concern. "Brother."
"He does not deserve my time." Thor replied, holding up a hand while Gamora wielded the ax behind them, holding it in line over Thanos. "You do. Are you in much pain?"
"Yeah," Loki huffed bitterly, his eyes wandering past Thanos as an ax came down on his head and towards Tony Stark and Captain Rogers kneeling over a body. "I think given the situation, it'd be a reasonable observation."
"Hey," Thor clapped a hand on his good shoulder with a forced smile and tears starting in his eyes. "No need to worry about lost arms. I know a Rabbit."
Loki just looked on towards Lincoln quietly, trying to handle the pain while his first close acquaintance lay dead.
"Hey," Thor tried to pull his attention away, crouching to the ground where Loki sat to be at his level. "We're on Earth. There are plenty of other chances here. Men and women alike."
"Can't these stones do anything?" Loki questioned quietly, staring at Lincoln with a lump in his throat. "Theoretically-"
"Theoretically, no." Strange snapped quickly, letting Loki's crushed arm fall out of the gauntlet and dangle from his elbow like a wet sock. "I know what you're thinking, and it's a no."
"She deserves a chance."
"She deserves to rest." Strange slipped the gauntlet off the severed arm. "And these need to be destroyed."
Loki looked on at Strange while he beckoned over Wanda. "Do you know where you abandoned her?"
"Sakaar." Strange replied evenly, creating a spell over the gauntlet. "I suppose you want an award for being decent to her?"
"Loki," Thor tried to redirect his attention again. "Let's go find the rabbit."
"If you won't let me bring her back," Loki warned lowly, "Then you will feel every bit of terror and pain that she did after you left her at the hands of an Elder."
Strange looked back towards Lincoln's body on the field with clear signs of grief. Wanda stopped in front of him and he blinked, glancing at Loki and then turning to walk away. "The stones are going to be destroyed."
Thor gripped Loki's shoulder, pulling him to his feet. "Come on, brother."
"He won't do it."
"It's alright." Thor tried to usher him back away. "I must remind you that you have not been the most popular on Earth. Let's get you home to Lissa."
