Part of her wondered, if she could go back in time and change it, change things, what would she change? She knew it was moot point, that time turners didn't go that far back, that the whole lot of them had been destroyed her fifth year of school, but sometimes, her mind liked wonder what if.

She had figured there were three main things she'd fix. One, she'd make sure Harry didn't end up with his horrible relatives. She wasn't sure if she'd figure out a way to save his parents, but she knew that he deserved to have a loving home if she couldn't.

Two, she'd do something about Lord Voldemort, make sure he never returned, that so many people didn't die at his hand. If she could find a way to stop him before he even rose to power the first time, knowing what she knew now... There was a good chance she could do just that. She could find him when he was still Tom Riddle, still human, and rid the world of the terror before they ever realized what she'd saved them from.

And three, she'd have never married Ronald Weasley. The third point was the one that made her want to try to do it, to go back. A contract marriage, one she couldn't easily escape if she wished to keep her magic. He'd made certain of that, made her think he loved her, and only her.

Now, she knew that was a lie. It had been nothing more than a trap. They didn't work together, but his mum insisted they were perfect, so perfect for each other. He found her boring most of the time. She found him annoying, rude, immature. It was as if he'd never fully grown up from the boy she'd known in school.

But no, Molly Weasley insisted they were perfect for each other, the way Harry and Ginny were perfect for each other. Ginny and Harry were good for each other. It was obvious they loved one another. They challenged each other to grow, to become more. Apparently somehow that hadn't been enough because now, Ginny had gotten tired of her mother's manipulation and she and Harry had moved across the pond, vowing never to return to England as long as the Weasley family matriarch lived. Hermione didn't blame her.

No, she couldn't go back in time and change all these things. The ripple effect would be enormous, and she had no idea of what she might accidentally do, even if she could even go back that far. Still, it gave her something to think about when Ron was 'working late', for the third night in a row.
