Gintoki walked through the field, following Sadaharu. He was practically dragging himself due to excessive laziness. He heard faint familiar noises of Shinpachi and Kagura's weapons up head. Gintoki perked back up ran through the fog toward the direction. He made it close enough to see Shinpachi and Kagura beating up his clones. 7 of them were on the floor defeated, looking as if they were melting. Shinpachi and Kagura were beating up the other two.
"If you'd stop drinking then maybe you'd be able to speak!" Shinpachi screamed in anger as he held the collar of one clone in his hand.
"Give me my pay you bastard!" Kagura screamed as she repeatedly punched another clone in the face.
Gintoki felt extremely nervous and slightly scared at the sight. He slowly walked back into the fog, pretending that he never saw anything. They didn't need his help after all, he thought.
"Shall we go home?" Gintoki asked Sadaharu. Sadaharu barked and instead, went back in the direction of where Kagura was. Gintoki sighed and dragged himself in the opposite direction. He walked for a bit, stopping at a nearby tree to sit down and rest. "Where the hell am I?"
Gintoki wasn't able to see Shinpachi or Kagura due to the fog, but he was able to hear them. He was waiting till the sounds of them calmed down before he goes back, or else he'd get beaten up too. Then, something Shinpachi screamed made his heart skip a beat:
"What did you do to my sister? Sister! Where are you!?"
'Otae is here?!' Gintoki thought as he jolted up. Shinpachi and Kagura sounded like they were leaving the area. Gintoki needed to catch up to them. Before he could, he heard a rustle behind him. He looked and saw another clone. The clone didn't do anything. It stared at him.
"Where is she?" Gintoki demanded. His eyes were fierce. The clone began to run away. Gintoki followed pursuit, till it stopped.
"Gin-san," Tae said weakly from the fog. Another clone came out and stood side by side next to the one that Gintoki had followed. This clone was different, though. It had brown eyes. In his arms, he was holding Tae. His arms were positioned in a way that would break Tae's neck.
"Otae!" Gintoki yelled. He noticed that Tae wasn't looking so good. She wasn't even struggling. "What did you do to her? What do you want?"
"She is only a temporarily paralyzed," explained the brown eyed cloned. He smiled creepily. "We're going to get married!"
"Oh?" Gintoki said, know that it was impossible for him. He looked at the clone with intense eyes and spotted an opening to attack.
"She'll die," the brown eyed clone said, noticing Gintoki's intention. Gintoki paused his attack even though he knew the clone was bluffing.
"Do you love her as much as me?" the brown eye clone challenged. He grabbed Tae's jaw and forced her to face him. He slowly started to put his mouth closer to hers. Tae didn't know what to feel. She knew it was someone else, but this person still had Gintoki's face. Her heart began to beat fast and she began to turn red. As their mouths almost began to touch, Gintoki's bokuto suddenly slammed into the clones face, causing him to lose grip on Tae. Tae was too weak to stand up on her own but Gintoki caught her before she began to fall. He held her up with both arms.
The clone was knocked out. His face began to melt, revealing it to be the elderly man from before. Gintoki recognized him, but didn't remember who it was. He didn't care to find out. He put Tae down on the ground next to a tree and stared at her as he knelt.
"Are you OK?" Gintoki asked, with his usual deadpanned face. Tae's heart was still beating fast. "Hm?"
"You're not a clone, right?" Tae asked weakly. She grabbed Gintoki's cheek sand guided him closer using both her hands, until she was about 7 inches away from his face. She lowered her hands till they rested on his shoulders. She looked deeply into his eyes to confirm it was the right color. Gintoki looked a bit annoyed at the feeling of Tae's breath on his face. He knew she was looking at his eye color for confirmation and hoped it would put her mind at ease. They stood still for a second. Tae's hands were on his shoulders with holding him from moving, so it got a bit awkward
"Oi," Gintoki said, trying to get Tae's attention. He tugged away at Tae, indicating that he'd like to be let free. Instead, Tae leaned in closer, making Gin more uncomfortable. 'This was not my intention!'
Gintoki's world felt like it was in slow motion as Tae's face moved in closer until he felt Tae's soft lip connect with his. His mind blanked out. After a few seconds, Tae let go. Gintoki used this moment of freedom to back off quickly. His heart was beating quickly but he was sure it was out of fear. They both stood quiet, with Gintoki being frozen.
"Sorry, I just wanted to see how it was like," Tae explained, noticing Gin's apprehension. She closed her eyes for second to think, but when she opened them, Gintoki was right in front of her, as close as they were was before. Gintoki felt Tae's breath again, but it didn't annoy him this time.
"If you wanted a teacher, then you should have said so," Gintoki smirked. Tae looked at him with surprise. He leaned in for a kiss, but the last clone appeared behind him to attack. Gintoki instinctively grabbed his bokuto, but he wasn't able to attack since Kagura and Shinpachi came out of nowhere and tackled the last clone, finishing it off. Sadaharu followed closely behind.
"Sister/Anego!" Kagura and Shinpachi yelled with happiness as they ran up to Tae, knocking Gintoki out of the way. They assisted Tae in standing up.
"Lets go home. How do we get out of here, Gin-San?" Shinpachi said with a smile of accomplishment. Kagura and Shinpachi held Tae and looked toward Gintoki, waiting for him to lead the way. Gintoki was nearby puking. He looked back at the Yorozuya.
"The hell if I know. How did you two even get in here in the first place?" Gintoki said with a sickly looking face as he wiped any remaining puke from his face.
Kagura and Shinpachi looked dumbfounded as Tae smiled.
"Uh, maybe the writer can write us out of this situation," Shinpachi said.
"Arf."
