Sword/Hogwarts
It was 2 days later when Lucius Malfloy had received a letter from his son, in it he begun to regale the tales of his education, Lucius was proud that his son was the alpha in the school, making their name strike awe and fear into others.
However his son had told them about a mudblood that kept making him loose face, he had tried to set him up to be expelled but it had not worked.
His father was furious, how dare a stinking mudblood do that to a pure blood? Obiously Hogwarts standards have fallen so low as to allow such filth to grace its halls.
But then it changed.
The blood from his face began to drain at the mention of the name of the boy.
"Oh no… my son, what have you done?" Lucius said as he rushed to pen a letter to his son.
Hopefully it wouldn't be too late, he had to warn the fathers of the two boys who accompany his son as well, they were all in potential danger.
After all… the name Emiya carried a certain gravitas to people of their… political persuasion.
It was by sheer chance he had gotten sick that day 20 years ago, there was a reunion of Death Eaters and sympathisers to plan a big hit on mudbloods and muggles, to kill as many as possible, the place was a bar, whose owner was in on for their cause, so security was minimal, as it was a closed place.
However all those 80 people died that day due to an explosion.
It wasn't due to magic either, it was made by a muggle contraption, placed in the middle of the locale to inflict the most damage possible.
Anyone who had survived was systematically killed by that… that monster.
A man who killed monsters and the most evils beings.
The wizard killer Kiritsugu Emiya.
However, this was odd… word was that he retired (forcefully) from bounty hunting, he was a mercenary who went to places of great conflict and brought peace at the cost of the lives of evil people, his methods were unorthodox, he used little to no magic in all his targets, further putting insult to injury and bypassing magical security.
If there is one thing wizards and witches had as a weakness was the fact that they underestimate muggle technology.
And he exploited that weakness.
Not only that, but he was a cold and pragmatic monster, going so far as to kill a kidnapped victim that his target used as a shield to kill his target.
Even his target's family were not safe should he need to use them as leverage to get to the target.
No tactic was dirty, anything and everything was on the table.
It was believed that besides Dumbledore, the dark lord feared Kiritsugu just as much, if not more than him.
It was quite telling that the dark lord had made it into a policy that if anyone even feels slightly like a target of that man, to immediately desaparate to another country immediately, or ingest poison.
While death was horrible, the means to extract information that Kiritsugu used, were feared by all, breaking the body, the mind and the spirit.
It was believed that Kiritsugu would have killed the dark lord early on had Dumbledore not kept getting in his way, the old goat fucker believing in second chances and the like. Still that softness saved them in the end.
Kiritsugu told him that his methods would save no one and would just increase the number of victims.
Dumbledore remained resolute and refused to back down, they almost came to blows… magic wise, as Dumbledore was intent on stopping him, not only that but actively tried to sabotage him, however Kiritsugu never intended to do any harm to him and nearly incapacitated him with a muggle made poison and left him in the floor as he killed a family of death eaters down to the last member while Dumbledore was unable to do anything.
Due to that, he used all his political power to make sure he would not kill anyone again, removing powers from aurors, making it so they could only apprehend and not kill on sight. Basically treating unrepentant killers with kids gloves
That dragged the war longer than it should. However Dumbledore still refused to lift said restrains, however a lot of aurors disregarded said prohibitions and used either near or lethal attacks on death eaters.
Time proved Kiritsugu in the right.
Kiritsugu was banned from his activities due to Dumbledore's interference, his methods were too dark for his liking, he wanted to make people see the light so there could be no remorse or change when they died. In other words, he wanted to give these kind of people a second chance.
Kiritsugu knew well enough that they had no morals, they wouldn't ever regret anything other than being caught.
Lucius thanked his lucky stars, that, however was the last time Kiritsugu was ever heard of, word is he settled with a rather old family somewhere in Germnay and married their heir.
If he had a child, wouldn't that child go to Durmstrang Institute?
Quickly he send his rashly written letter to his son in Hope's that he hasn't done anything too foolish….
Oh who he was kidding, his son thought itself untouchable due to his connections.
Reality had ways of striking someone VERY hard.
Potter was a lost cause, but if his son managed to make Emiya like him and join him, perhaps he could be shielded by using Emiya's (father) influence.
He might hate Kiritsugu for his work, and his methods, but if anything, he could praise his ruthlessness and efficiency.
He was to death eaters what they were to common people after all.
On Hogwarts
Emiya was just a 3rd rate magus, but he had learned some things, and one of those things was sympathetic magic, he obtained blood and hair from the stupid brat and he was about to pay him back.
Using some straw he made a crude curse doll and inserted a power with Malfloy's blood and hair and placed it somewhere he was most of the time.
It took a while but he got into Slitherin's dorm, it was rather easy to find. He placed the doll in the bed frame, it would take a few days for it to build up, but all good things take time.
It was simple, the longer he was around the fool, the more the doll will be charged, taking away at his karma, the lower his karma the most likely accidents will happen to him.
In other words it was a simple curse, that drew from the targets karma.
He was sure nothing would go wrong, as a mage's natural resistance made this just a paltry prank.
He had no idea that magic resistance was not something really taught.
Draco Malfloy was waiting for his mail as usual, however he did not know bad luck was comming his way, first off, his shoelaces broke and tripped hurting his nose, a lot of people began to laugh about it, also, unknown to himself or his father, the owl carrying the letter of Malfloy senior was spooked by an errant shot, due to the fright, the owl dropped the letter which felt to a pond. He picked it up, but it was ineligible. Still he had to deliver it.
Once he received the mail he was not able to read it, as most of the ink had run, so he wrote one, or rather tried to, his feather broke, filling with ink many parchments, including some homework he had due today.
Not only that but he had a rather nasty accident on potion class, his godfather had to take him to the infirmary, his cure boil potion reacted badly with another ingredient that he forgot to carefully squish with the flat of the silver blade.
His face was riddled with boils and a few burns, it was also itchy.
Griffindor was feeling awkward, as the day progressed Draco's luck kept getting incrementally worst.
And so, Fred and George decided to talk to Emiya alone.
"So… how did you do it?" George asked
"I mean it is rather bloody amazing that the ponce is getting his just desserts" Fred said.
"But, it does seems to be getting out of hand? A suit of armor almost cut him when the arm joints rusted and fell down"
The twins enjoyed a good prank, but always made sure to embarrass their targets, and never put them in danger, at least not purposely.
"What do you mean? What I done should not be that extreme, all I used was symphatetic magic, his own innate magic resistance should have watered down what I did" Emiya said as he ate some turkey.
Fred and George looked at each other, not understanding what he said.
"Magic resistance? What is that?" They asked.
Emiya explained how circulating magical energy on the body could be used to either wash away or reject curses that took hold within limits, this meant the user's quantity of magic and how good at using said technique influenced the outcome, as a true blood wizard he should have plenty of experience.
The twins looked at each other.
"We never beard of that before" George said.
"Sounds like brilliant to resist truth compelling spells and the like" Fred muttered.
"Still, we have researched many things for our pranks, but we have NEVER heard of that before, and we looked at books even from the forbidden section" they said.
"Oh yeah what a nightmare it was to get those books, we almost got caught twice over"
"Oh boy" Emiya said with a sigh realising what this meant.
If things kept going at the same rate, forget tomorrow, the brat would die by the end of the day.
Infirmary
Draco was feeling paranoid, one bad thing happening is one thing, but so many and in quick succession?
"What's wrong with Malfloy?" Severus asked madam Pomfrey.
"I never seen something like this, it's like he is cursed, but the curse comes from within, like he has become a vessel for the curse and is contained inside, I never seen anything like this"
Snape hasn't either, and he liked to beleive he was someone who knows a lot of dark magic.
Due to the curse being made from items of the person cursed, trying to find the culprit would be downright tedious if not impossible.
Just then, they heard a creaking sound, followed by a crashing sound.
Malfloy was on the floor, the bed had broken down and Draco fell to the floor hitting his head.
Draco was on the floor crawling to a corner of the room, trying to have as much space from anything that could remotely harm him.
Who could he threathen, or bully to submission when it was all due to accidents that kept happening to him?
With Emiya and the Weasley twins
Emiya was taken back, passive and active magic resistance by use of prana circulation was something taught to all magus when they are able to use their circuits at a very young age, it seems that they used willpower to resist compulsion type magic, but that is so stupid! Now Emiya felt (slightly) guilty as he had no idea it was going to snowball like this.
"Hey, if you need help" George said.
"We can create a distraction for you to use" Fred continued.
Emiya pulled a galleon.
"Nah, rather than money, how about you teach us that magic resistance thing you talked about?" They said with a grin.
Emiya tought about it, it wasnt like it was a secret, and they already know so… what the hell.
They shook hands.
It was in the afternoon, Fred and George set up many caches of moisture starting fireworks from Dr Filibuster's.
The Great Hall then exploded in both sounds and colors, the twins then made themselves scarce as students and teachers rushed around either scared, joining in the chaos or trying to bring a semblance of order.
Emiya took a chance and rushed towards Slitherin dorms, while rushing he put up many bounded fields to hinder people comming over and to force them to ignore the hallway.
While being a 3rd rate magus he could still put up decent bounded fields thanks to his time under Mcremitz, an inheritor of the Fraga bloodline, who taught him the use of runes, using the knowledge of runes from the user(s) of Gae bulg he increased his skills in runes to be at least at a medium tier of mastery, however he only used the perception and Alarm types due to his work as an adult human in his old world.
The door was locked, but with a use of alteration he made the door swing open and entered the dorm.
Using alteration he unbinded the doll from the bed and then burned it to stop the sympathetic magic. With the medium gone things shoukd go back to normal for the brat and he wouldnt have to carry the death of a (an albeit irritating) child on his conscience.
The whole ordeal ended with Draco with 2 broken arms a severe concussion and several days worth of homework to make up for.
It was several weeks later when their major holiday came to be.
"I wish to say that I am not surprised, but honestly, witches and wizards celebrating All-Hallows eve as a holiday… well it's rather ironic really" Emiya said.
After all Halloween is a pagan festival of harvest, but was declared satanic due to witches and wizards celebrating it, which wasnt 100 percent true, they just celebrated it due to bountiful harvest. It got popular a century or 2 later.
However fe had felt Iris' mood turn down as the date approached, he was curious and looked it up.
He groaned.
"Just how insensitive can people be?" He tought to himself.
After all… it was the date of Voldemort's defeat…
The anniversary of the death of Iris' parents.
They all failed in understanding the sacrifice a family took to keep their daughter safe.
The fact that Voldemort was defeated was never in the equation.
And how they placed her on a pedestal without her say or consent.
So he was not surprised to find her missing, the poor girl was probably feeling rather distressed.
Emiya felt akin to sympathy, as he knew the feeling, as back when he was human and lost his adoptive father… the feeling of emptiness he felt…
He shook his head to keep the thoughts way.
It seems like Hermione was also missing from the feast.
Probably to keep Iris company, they were rather close and as girls, they could talk about things boys wouldn't understand.
So the feast began, he ate a few dishes when a professor, Quirell if he was not mistaken barged in.
"TROLL! In the dungeons… I thought you should know" he said as he passed out.
Headmaster Dumbledore rose to calm the students, but before he could say anything Emiya had dashed while pushing the professor away.
"Mr. EMIYA!" A professor shouted but w as not heard as his speed was higher than any child his age should be.
Using his nose he found a peculiar foul scent.
And it wasn't from the dungeons.
Running he used structural analysis to get a layout of the castle, thankfully, due to being keyed into the castle he was able to use less mana to do it, as the castle did not actively fight his intrusion.
The girls bathroom…
IRIS AND HERMIONE DID NOT KNOW!
Jumping and sliding as he hurried up, he heard a loud scream… he had to make it in time, he didn't want anything to make him like he was back then, unable to save anyone.
Girl's bathroom
Hermione and Iris were very sure they would die.
A troll had natural resistance to magic, not that they had any spells to attack or defend. Not to mention that trolls had superior strength, albeit they were complete idiots, however that did not matter when they had such a small room and it had the only exit blocked.
Iris bravely used her magic to create sparks to try to blind it to let Hermione run away. The troll replied by blindly sweeping around with its large club hitting Iris against the wall, her arm was twisted in an unnatural way due to the hit, not to mention she felt delirious as her body also hit the wall and dropped down unceremoniously to the floor.
"IRIS!" Hermione yelled thought it felt far away
Iris tried to crawl, her body felt in so much pain.
Was she gonna die?
Seems like death came to get its due…
"No, not yet, Hermione, at least I have to get her to safety" she mumbled to herself, her eyes were watery with tears.
"EVERYONE HIT THE FLOOR NOW!" A familiar voice shouted. Hermione dropped to her knees as she yelled as the troll recuperated his vision.
"SWORD BARREL, FULLOPEN!"
They heard a peculiar sound and then Hermione opened her eyes as the attack from the troll never came.
She saw the troll gasping as its body was covered by blades that pierced it, making it look like a victim of an iron maiden.
Emiya jumped into its back with a black and white sword in each one, one pierced the neck of the troll while the other went through the front to its heart, showering the girls and himself with the blood of the troll, then he proceeded to cut its head off. Overkill is the best kind of kill afterall.
"Hermione, are you okay?" Emiya asked as the blades vanished in notes of light
Hermione was still in shock. She had seen unbelievable amounts of violence and gore in just a few seconds, all done by a boy her age.
Shiro, he had saved them.
Emiya walked up to Iris and placed his hands on her, his arm lit uoz showing a circuit like interface and then…
"Damn, no good, her arm is shattered by the ulnar, and has severe cranial fracture, 4 ribs broken too, seems one of her lungs got punctured, Hermione, run and scream for help, otherwise Iris might not make it" Emiya said.
It was all said and done in such a cold and clinical way that it took Hermione a second to parse what was asked of her, she ran screaming for help, thankfully the teachers were close by.
Shock, awe and incredulity could be seen in the teachers faces.
For in the floor was a heavily mutilated corpse of a still bleeding troll, as soon as Emiya was going to be questioned, with perfect timing, his magic circuits flared in protest as he had abused them quite harshly, he had less than half of them open, even if they could carry twice as much and process it, his sword barely, reinforcement and tracing of Kanshou and Byakuya were more than it was safe to do.
And so he began to spasm and collapse on the floor aa if he was being shocked by electricity, which in a way, he kinda was, all the teachers looked worried as Shirou's body felt like it was burning, as he was running a high fever. Both Iris and Emiya were taken to the hospital wing, while Hermione, still shivering in fright told what Shirou had said was wrong with Iris. This made Madam Pomfrey's job easier, however with Emiya, not so much.
It was the next day when Emiya woke up and stretched out, clearly not worried over where he had woken up, almost as if he expected it.
"Mr. Emiya, we need to talk, I will place a bounded field around us, I assure you it os only to maintain privacy, would you mind?" Albus Dumbledore asked. "I have questions that need to be answered before the aurors come"
Chapter end.
