Chapter 8: Beyond The Land

As we continued our journey, we climbed on the top of the mountain. It was a hard climb, as my feet were getting sore, and my legs were hurting. Ramon was telling us a story.

"Then she's saying to me 'enough you are making me nauseous.' So I become silent, almost moody. And you know what she says? 'You never share. You gotta let it out.'" Ramon said. "Ramon, come on," Raul said. "Let it out. Let it out." Ramon said. "Stop it! Let it go." Raul said with annoyance. "I never had a good relationship in my life," Ramon whined. "Give him a hug," Lombardo said. "I let it out!" Ramon shouted. "There we go," Nestor said. "I let it out," Ramon said again. "I know, get over it," Raul told him.

"Can you keep going?" Mumble asked. "Yeah." Lovelace said weakly and nodded.

"What's that smell?" Lombardo asks. "It wasn't me," Rinaldo said. "I didn't do anything." Glimmer said. "Hey fluffy boy, we're following you. Get up here." Ramon called. When we climbed to the top, we saw a bunch of Elephant seals laying in the snow below.

"So uh, these elephant seals, they're not penguin-eaters are they?" Lombardo asked. "I don't know. I believe they are herbivores." Ramon said. "What? You know kelp-suckers." Ramon said. "Here we go, Lovelace," Mumble said. "Come on," Mumble said. Mumble gave out a yelp as he and Lovelace jumped down from the cliff and onto the snow. "Jump in time. Jump in time. Okay, let's do it. Okay, okay, okay. Ready?" The amigo's said. They all cheered as they jumped from the cliff. Ramon whimpered as he was scared of jumping off of the cliff. "I can do this. I can do this. I got to trick myself. Boy, look at that? What?" Ramon screamed as he jumped off of the cliff.

I looked down nervously as I watched the penguins slide down on the snow.

"You ready?" Johanna asked me. I nodded. "Okay, 3, 2, 1, go!" Johanna shouted. On one, I held Johanna's hand as we jumped from the cliff and slid down the snow. I heard the careers whooping and cheering as they were sliding down the snow. "Woah!" Mumble cried. Ramon yelped as he slid down and ran into the amigos. Ramon accidentally ran into the elephant seal. This got his attention.

"Uh-oh," I said. "Stay back," Peeta told me and put his arm out in front of me. "You blokes better be lost, 'cause trespassing is a crime." The leader said. "We're just passing through," Mumble argued. "Yeah, We're with him," Raul said. "Oy, you wouldn't be heading over to them distant hills and through the blizzard country." The third elephant seal said. "We're just helping our friends find out what's happening to the fish." Clove said. "Yeah, and if it's the only way to the forbidden shore, yeah," Mumble said.

"Crikey. You might come face-to-face with an annihilator." The third elephant seal said. "An alien annihilator?" Mumble asked. "Too right. Cut you up as soon as look at you. Waste every living thing in their path." The second elephant seal said. "Could they be annihilating the fish?" Mumble asks. "Every living thing." The second elephant seal said. "Merciless, mate. Merciless. Even if you were a whopping great wheel, they drag your sorry carcass ashore, dice you up, melt you down, and turn you into fun food." The leader said. "One day, you're a big old whale, next minute, fun food." The third elephant seal said.

"Ew, gross!" Glimmer shouted when the other elephant seal spat all over us. "Someone's gotta stop them," Mumble said. "Oh, yeah? What's your approach?" The leader asks him. "If I could just talk to them, appeal to their better nature," Mumble said. "Beauty, when that crafty little trick pays off, you be sure to let us know, won't ya?" The leader said. The elephant seals chuckled. "All right Lovelace, let's go," Mumble said. "See ya, Lovelace." The leader called as they left. "You're funeral, mate." The elephant seal said.

With that, we left the land of the elephant seals. Later, we got to the blizzard land, which was the hardest part of the journey. We've been pushed back by the heavy winds. I fell and landed on my back.

"Are you okay, sweetie?" Johanna asked me. "Yeah, yeah, I'll be fine," I said. "Come on, let's get you back up," Peeta said. Peeta and Johanna helped me up. Peeta and Johanna held onto me to keep me from blowing away. The careers and the amigos were blown away by the wind but they were able to get back up.

"Come on guys, let's do it." Ramon encouraged us. "You can do it, come on push!" Ramon cried. We all gave out loud grunts as we pushed ourselves through the blizzard.

In the morning, we all woke up, in the caves with snow covering our bodies. Mumble was the first one to wake up. He brushed the snow off of him.

"Lana, wake up," Mumble said. "Huh?" I said as I shook the snow off of me. "What's that noise?" Mumble asked. "I don't hear anything," I said. "There's no noise," Rinaldo said. "No gasping, no wheezing," Raul said. "Hey, where did Lovelace go?" Clove asked. "Yeah, where Lovelace?" Lombardo asked. "Sometimes a brave penguin will just slip away to die," Nestor said. "Do you think he went to a happy place?" Rinaldo asked. "Probably," Nestor said.

"No, no. I think he went this way." Mumble said. We all walked out of the cave and found a building, that looked like a church. "Come on, let's go," Mumble said. We saw even more buildings as we continued to walk farther down.

"Lovelace! Lovelace!" Mumble yelled. "Hello? Is there anyone there?" Mumble shouted. "No- no need to shout," Lombardo said. "Somebody might hear you," Ramon said. We continued walking. "Hm. His feet don't look too good. He rested here. Now he's on his belly. No, this way." Nestor said. "You don't want to know what he did here," Ramon said. "Hey, I found him!" Marvel shouted. "There he is. Lovelace!" Mumble shouted when we finally found him. "All right! Lovelace! Lovelace!" The amigo's shouted. We walked up closer to him. "Oh, look at Lovelace, we're here," Ramon said. "Are you okay?" Lombardo asked.

"Come on man, hang in there buddy," Raul said. "What is it?" Mumble asked. "Oh, look. There's one for everyone." Raul said when we saw more of those ringneck things. "Hang in there Lovelace, I know they're here somewhere," Mumble assured him. "Why would they leave all of this behind?" Ramon asked. "I don't know," Nestor said. We then heard chiming in the distance. "Tell them we come in peace," Lombardo said. "We come in peace!" Rinlando shouted. Lovelace gave out some loud grunts.

"Lovelace!" Everyone shouted. "Oh buddy, come on. Are you okay? Hang in there, buddy." Ramon said. We all gasped when a big giant whale came up.

"Oh, that's not good. Stay calm." Ramon said. "Uh, I think we should start panicking right now," I said. "Don't worry Lana, I got this," Marvel said. Marvel threw his sphere at the whale but missed, causing the sphere into the water. "That's not good," Marvel said. "Marvel, you idiot!" Glimmer shouted.

"Okay, don't stay calm!" Nestor shouted. "Panic!" Ramon cried. We all screamed when another whale jumped up and made a huge splash, pushing us farther out.

"Can we start panicking now?" I asked. "Yes! Start panicking! Run!" Glimmer shouted. "There's nowhere to run!" Johanna yelled. We were trapped on a piece of small ice, holding onto the bars. We were surrounded by the two killer whales.

"Oh no, no," Ramon said as they pushed us. "Oh, they're making us appe-teasers." Rinlardo said. "They're appe-teasing us," Ramon said. "We're all gonna die!" Raul cried. I felt dizzy as the whales kept spinning us around.

"Whatever you do, stay out of the water!" Mumble yelled. "Stay out of the water. Lovelace, don't go in the water!" Ramon shouted as the whales tipped us over. We were able to stay on the ice as we were put right-side up again. Lovelace was caught on the top of the mini-tower.

"Lovelace, hang in there! Hang in there!" Ramon shouted. Mumble climbed to the top of the mini-tower. The killer whale was licking Lovelace, trying to eat him.

"Get your dirty tongue off of him!" Mumble yelled. The whale pushed Lovelace off, causing him to fall into the water. "No, no, no!" The amigo's cried. "Stay out of the water," Rinlardo said. Mumble f in the water, after Lovelace. "Mumble! Mumble!" We all shouted. A few minutes later, we saw the whales throwing Mumble and Lovelace. The other whale caught Lovelace. "They playing birmington?" Nestor asked. "No, it's a show. Dinner and a show!" Rinlando said. Mumble was tossed over by the other whale. I watched as he and Lovelace were flying through the air. "Lovelace!" Mumble yelled. The bell on Lovelace's neck fell off, making the neck trap fall off as well. Lovelace gasped for air.

"Rejoice!" Lovelace cried happily. The whales threw Mumble and Lovelace in the air again. "Oh, yeah!" Lovelace cried. "Lovelace! Reach out!" Mumble called. Mumble caught Lovelace. "Thank you my brother, thank you," Lovelace said. The whales bumped into each other, causing us to fall into the water. We jumped up and down, swimming away as fast as we can from the whales. We landed safely onto the ice.

"I wasn't scared, I wasn't scared," Rilando said. Mumble and Lovelace came out from the water. "You okay?" Peeta asked me. "Yeah, I'll be fine. That was crazy." I said. "Go, Lovelace! You the man! Go, go, go, go!" The amigo's cried. "ENOUGH!" Lovelace below. Everyone stayed silent.

"It's a bad day for you! You're dealing with Lovelace now! And my man, Mumble here." Lovelace said. "You tell them, Lovelace," Ramon said. "Begone, demon fish! Adios! That's right. Boo-hoo! You hightail it back to your mamas. Don't make me come in the water. I'll come after you're sons and daughters. I'm gonna give you the bad eye." Lovelace said. We saw a ship coming our way.

We gasped and quickly ran away before it could crush us.
