AUTHOR'S NOTE: Here is another chapter. It may be a while until the next, I'm hoping to have another chapter out this coming weekend (hopefully two), but with work…Honestly, I try to get the chapters out when I can and as soon as my muse strikes. I understand that a lot, if not all believed this story to be dead, but trust me that I will definitely mark the story as such if that were the case. Also, I hope this chapter answers some questions, although I'm sure not all and possibly increase the number of questions needing answered. Enjoy.
-Chapter 20-
"I'm not really sure why. But... do you stop loving someone just because they betray you? I don't think so. That's what makes the betrayal hurt so much - pain, frustration, anger..." ― Brandon Sanderson, The Final Empire

Tsuna stared out of the kitchen window, his legs numb for how long he has been sitting at the dining room table. Shamal had warned him, but he chose not to listen. His heart ached inside his chest; not at what he had learned, but at the consequences of how he went about learning it. Those eyes…those steel orbs Tsuna loves so much had been lackluster and filled with such betrayal and heartbreak…
A sob tumbled through trembling lips and Tsuna pressed a hand against his mouth as if to stop the sound from escaping. He failed and another broken cry shook him. Kyoya was so angry with him. He much preferred for the Skylark to have shouted and hit him…not silently get up and stagger his way into Fuuta's room where he gently whispered something into the sleeping child's ear. Shamal had not stayed to wait around. As soon as Kyoya stepped into Fuuta's room, the doctor made a quick exit mumbling about taking Masaomi on another vacation to somewhere remote and exotic.
Then Kyoya left.
Kyoya grabbed his cellphone and wallet off of the end-table by the front door, slipped on his shoes and jacket, and then made sure he had his keys before exiting the house. Tsuna had hurried after him, panic and fear rising inside him at the sound of Kyoya's motorcycle roaring to life. The raven did not so much as glance back at Tsuna when the brunette cried out for him to wait. He just shoved his helmet on and took off. That had been three days ago and Tsuna was unable to answer Fuuta's questions about where was his Kyoya-nii and when he would be back.
"Juudaime, are you ready to go?" Gokudera asked hesitantly, a duffle bag slung over one shoulder while Yamamoto stood nearby with a small bag for Fuuta.
Fuuta was already with Bianchi, playing with I-Pin and Lambo at a near-by park. With how everything went with Kyoya, Tsuna did not feel it right for him to remain staying at the Skylark's house. He could not bear facing an angry, or worse emotionless Kyoya returning and telling Tsuna to leave. Gokudera and Yamamoto knew that he and Kyoya had another fight, one that was so obviously worse than the last. Given what had happened, it was definitely worse, but they did not know the details involved. Tsuna quickly wiped his face dry and stood up. Carefully pushing the chair back to the table, he turned and left the Hibari residence…hopefully not for the last time.

Fuuta frown from his spot on the swings. He did not want to swing. He did not want to run around and play like nothing bad has happened. Where was Kyoya-nii? Why did he leave? Why did he and Tsuna-nii have to move back to Nana-san's? Fuuta bit his bottom lip, peering up through thick lashes as he watched I-Pin chase Lambo around the park. Bianchi sat nearby on a park bench practically drooling over a magazine.
Feeling the weight inside his jacket pocket, Fuuta slowly pulled out the cellphone he found beneath his pillow the morning after Kyoya-nii left. Opening the mint green device, Fuuta fumbled with the buttons until he was able to bring up the contacts. Seeing only three numbers, Fuuta pressed the one labeled Nii-sanand put the phone to his ear. It rang twice before someone answered the call.
"Kyo-nii…where are you?" Fuuta asked, the sadness he felt over the last few days finally setting in and causing him to sniffle.

"Kyoya-kun, what did Byakuran speak with you about last night?" Tsuna asked and I felt my mouth open and words flowed without my permission.
"Byakuran contemplated on meeting me so soon or waiting. He shouldn't have come. It was too soon and I knew it, but at the same time things have changed so much, so I shouldn't have been surprised," I found myself speaking even my unspoken thoughts from that night and I was powerless on stopping. "Byakuran mentioned how well I've coped with the drastic change of waking up in a strange place. I wondered if he met anyone else coming into the knowledge of being reborn."
Tsuna sucked in a sharp breath.
"He hasn't and he finds my situation interesting. Such a dangerous thing…being an interest to him," I whispered, my eyes unfocused as images from that night flashed before the forefront of my mind. "He knows me…knew me before everything. What I know. How I knew. He said that knowledge of things yet to pass can be so bothersome. I couldn't help but to agree."
A pin could drop and it would go unheard with how focused Tsuna and Shamal were on what I was saying.
"A swarm of butterflies over the ocean can cause a hurricane on the other side of the world…a small change in what should have happened can cause such monumental changes in a future that should be," I said through gritted teeth, trying to fight the affects of the truth serum. "My actions alone have already changed the future, but I plan on living this life, my life, to the fullest on my terms…my life. Mine."
Something wet dripped down my cheeks, but I was unable to brush the irritating feeling away.
"This is my second chance…such a rare thing he said. There is so much I cannot remember about my previous life. A majority of my memories revolve around this current world and everyone in it," I voiced hoarsely, a pain beginning to throb in the back of my skull. "Byakuran knew me before I became Hibari Kyoya and he said he would tell me all I wanted to know."
My vision began to clear and I was finally able to lift my head up a little until I was staring straight into Tsuna's wide eyes.
"I was a cloud then too." I told him, my eyes flashing purple as my cloud flames finally consumed the truth serum contaminating my blood.

"Kyoya-kun, I'm out of marshmallows!" Byakuran shouted from somewhere in his apartment and I did my best to ignore the annoying stomping heading down the hallway.
The door designating my bedroom was slammed open and I shot a heated glare at the snow-haired male, my fingers clenching tightly around one of my tonfas I was in the process of repairing.
"How can I drink hot chocolate without marshmallows?!" Byakuran whined, skulking into the room and dropping down right behind me.
He fell back against me with a heavy sigh, forcing me to lean forward slightly. Byakuran proceeded to rub his cheek against the curve of my shoulder while tugging at the hem of my shirt.
"Go buy me more," He ordered, a pout heavily coating his words.
I shrugged him off.
"Stop crowding," I sneered, pressing a hand against his face when he tried to move closer.
I jerked my hand back as a look of disgust twisted my lips, quickly wiping my damp palm on the thigh of my jeans. Byakuran chuckled, sticking his tongue out playfully at me.
"You know…you taste kind of sweet, Kyoya-kun—ack! Ow, that hurt!" Byakuran whined, holding his nose after I flicked it.
If I added a bit of cloud flames in the action, he did not mention it. Byakuran huffed, before stretching out on the floor. He rolled until he was laying on his stomach and propped his head up on his hands, his elbows resting against the carpet.
"Say…when do you plan on leaving this place? It's been what, three days? I'm bored. Let's go outside," Byakuran groaned, quickly rolling back over to stare up at the ceiling. "You know, they say the best way of getting over the pain someone caused you is the jump right back into the dating game."
SLAM!
"Huh, Kyoya-kun? Hey, wait for me!" Byakuran scrambled onto his feet and hurried out of the bedroom after me when I had stormed off.
He caught me in a surprisingly strong grip when I went to yank open the front door. Narrowed steel orbs pierced into darkening lilac.
"If I get your marshmallows, will you cease your incessant whining?" I hissed through clenched teeth, wanting nothing more than to bite the snow-haired male to death with the cold steel of my tonfas.
"I suddenly don't want marshmallows anymore," Byakuran stated, a smile forming on his face and growing larger with every second that passed.
My eyebrow twitched and my nostrils flared as I fought back the rage that suddenly wanted to consume me.
"Ah, ah, ah, don't get so grumpy with me mister," Byakuran teased, actually bopping me on the nose, before skipping backwards.
The apartment rattled from the resulting shockwave of my tonfa connecting with the wall where Byakuran's head was just positioned. He let out an impressed whistle, never losing his teasing grin.
"So quick to anger…just like your counterpart," Byakuran laughed, his eyes closed as if pleased with himself.
Lilac peeked through pale lashes when I did not strike out at him again. He opened his eyes fully, seeing something cross my face that I apparently had yet to realize.
"He really hurt you, didn't he?" Byakuran murmured, his arms falling to his sides. "Betrayal isn't easy, especially when it is caused by those closest to us."
Without waiting for him to say anything else, I grabbed my coat and stepped out of the apartment. A light jingle sounded and I pulled out my cellphone. My lips twitched at seeing Fuuta calling me.
"Hello, small animal."
-KHR-
"Kyo-nii! Kyo-nii!" Fuuta shouted, running full throttle once he caught sight of me.
I caught him just as he tripped over his laces, scooping him up before he could tumble onto the ground. His small arms went around my neck and he pressed his face against mine.
"You were gone for so long. Why are you here and not in Namimori?" Fuuta asked, his words muffled against my shoulder.
Instead of answering, I nodded my thanks to Kusakabe as he stepped out of his black Nissan S-Cargo.
"Kid was excited to see you. He talked non-stop the entire way," Kusakabe stated with a gentle look in his eyes while passing me a small tote bag that contained some of Fuuta's belongings. "I spoke with Sawada Nana about Fuuta leaving for the weekend. She happily packed a travel bag for him. I ran into Tsuna-san and Reborn-san as I was leaving…"
Kusakabe trailed off when I shook my head. In his excitement, Fuuta had fallen asleep and I did not want to risk waking him up. I motioned for Kusakabe to follow me up to the apartment I was currently stay at with Byakuran. Why? He was the first to find me when I left Namimori. Somehow, he knew just where to look. Settling Fuuta on my futon, I quietly shut the door before joining Kusakabe in the living room. Without me having to ask, Kusakabe began updating me on the situation in Namimori.
"Tsuna-san looked rough, as though he hasn't slept in days. Reborn seemed just as strung out and a little vindictive. It seems that he has amped up Tsuna-san's training along with the others," Kusakabe took a steadying breath. "Tsuna-san and Fuuta-kun moved back in with Sawada Nana, thus my reasoning for speaking with her regarding Fuuta's coming here."
My fingers began tabbing against the surface of the sofa chair I was occupying, my eyes darting towards the window view.
"Everyone within the circle knows that a fight went down, but they are unaware of the details. They only know that it was big enough for you to leave Namimori and for Tsuna to move out," Kusakabe informed me.
"I didn't ask for him to leave," I stated hoarsely, refusing to look at my long-time friend.
"Kyoya-san…"
"He betrayed me," I whispered, moving my gaze back to my friend as my fingernails dug into the chair arms.
Kusakabe swallowed. He was familiar with what happened to those who betray me, each case handled differently. The front door opened and closed, causing Kusakabe to turn quickly in that direction. At the sight of Byakuran, Kusakabe's eyes widened before he controlled his facial expression. Turning back to me, Kusakabe looked at me questioningly.
"Tetsuya-san, this is Byakuran. Carnivore, this is my best friend," I introduced them, ignoring the pleased flush dusting Kusakabe's cheeks at how I introduced him to Byakuran.
Byakuran smiled in greeting, confidently striding into the living room and sitting down on the arm of the chair I was in. I did not hesitate in shoving him off onto the ottoman, earning myself a resigned look from Byakuran and a curious look from Kusakabe.
"So, where is the tiny human?" Byakuran asked, causing my eyebrow to twitch.
Kusakabe coughed into his hand, hiding a chuckle with the sound.
"Asleep," I answered. "Thank you for bringing him."
"It's no problem. I've always wanted to check out Chiba, but never got around to it."

"What do you mean you don't know where Kusakabe-san took Fuuta-kun?" Tsuna practically shouted, his fingers threatening to pull out every strand of his mousy locks.
Nana frowned, propping her hands on her hips.
"Tsu-chan, there's no need to worry. Kyo-chan will be there," Nana admonished gently, but that only seemed to startle Tsuna more.
"Reborn, we have to find—."
Tsuna broke off, eyes wide and a hand on his stinging cheek. Leon change back from a flyswatter and settled down on the rim of Reborn's fedora, the hat casting a dangerous shadow over Reborn's charcoal orbs.
"Tsunayoshi, we need to speak in private. Now," Reborn demanded, his tone leaving no room for arguing.
Tsuna silently trudged behind Reborn, his emotions chaotic. Once inside his bedroom, Tsuna told Reborn what had happened from the night Kyoya did not return, to their slight argument, to him owing another favor to Shamal for the truth serum. He even told Reborn what Kyoya had said about possibly being reborn from another life. The entire time Tsuna spoke, Reborn was silent.
"What you've done…your actions have consequences Sawada Tsunayoshi," Reborn seethed, a dangerous glint shining from the light hitting Reborn's eyes just right. "You've betrayed your Cloud Guardian and may have very well lost him. I kill those who betray me. The question is, what will Kyoya do?"
Tsuna slid down to the floor, unable to steady himself on weak legs any longer.
"If this is the kind of boss you are willing to be, then I fear for the future of the Vongola Familia. You need to make things right. I don't care what you do, but we do not need Hibari Kyoya as an enemy," Reborn growled before leaving the room and Tsuna alone.
