Emmeryn gave Chrom the Fire Emblem before returning to protect her people but was kidnapped and sentenced to death. Grimadoom thinks of war as a game! Well, it's a game I'll make sure HE loses!

Entering the throne room to have a private chat with the Masters of Evil Leader that she has come to respect as her equal is his fellow villain, Salem. The Immortal Witch of Remnant and the Master of the Grimm. And more recently, the Dark Spider-Queen, after her already mutated DNA was further altered by the Spider-Virus, effectively turning her into a Spider-Totem that will soon attract Morlun once his business in the World of Awakening is finished.

"Victor. What has become of our child?" asked Salem, referring to Grimadoom.

"Need him for something?" Doom responded stoically from his throne.

"No. Simply concerned. He has been missing since he defended the city from that mysterious creature and fell into one of those dimensional rifts. Could he be dead?" Salem questioned.

"Unlikely. We created Grimadoom to be the strongest and survive in any environment. Whatever that creature was and where he ended up shouldn't be a concern." Doom replied.

"We should be concerned of betrayal." Salem retorted sternly, "We no longer possess the Espeon Stone to control him and his immeasurable power. He is insubordinate and prideful and doesn't get along with the others. If he is still alive, he would've contacted us by now yet hasn't."

"What did you expect from a newborn with our blood flowing through his veins?" Doom brought up a good point as he steps down from the throne to meet his teammate up close, "Grimadoom won't betray us. He owes us. What would he benefit when we are his means to achieving his goal? He can be disrespectful all he wants. Our bond as parent and child are another means of control. You might have forgotten since the loss of your family."

Salem grimaces, "I haven't forgotten. Why do you think I am concerned and eager to ground him?" She joked for a bit, "Even if he has no intention to betray us, his actions are chaotic and could endanger all parties and their respective dimensions."

Doom scoffs, "I'll organize a search party immediately, to calm your nerves."

"You are too kind." Salem quipped, smiling while watching the masked monarch exit his chambers to prepare a search for his missing hedgehog son.

BGM-Dragon Ball FighterZ OST-Synopsis

Many millennia ago, Hero-King Marth led his army against villainous forces during the legendary War of Shadows. His army was named as the Archanean League, consisting of many nations with the mutual goal to liberate the continent from a Shadow Dragon. And they succeeded.

Now, after thousands of years, a new League has formed with a similar goal. Led by Prince Chrom, the Ylissean League march across the border between Ferox and Plegia on a rescue mission to save their Exalt and defeat the Plegian Kingdom before they conquer the whole continent. This army is massive, consisting of countless soldiers that were trained to be great warriors. The responsibility of such allied forces is overwhelming, and thankfully Chrom isn't alone leading them. He has three amazing co-leaders by his side. Flavia, the Ruling Khan of Ferox that's hungry for battle. Basilio, the West-Khan of Ferox that's eager to go buck wild. And Spider-Man, the Hero-Spider of the Dimensional Avengers that's shy leading an army this big and constantly jokes around to relieve stress.

"Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" joked Spidey amidst their march.

"Almost. Shut up." Chrom retorted.

Eventually the Alliance made it to Border Sands, a desert in Plegia where they set up camp to start preparing for their epic battle in the Plegian capital. Soldiers train. Weapons were forged. Battle tactics were review. Sonic taking a snooze. And then some.

"All right, Shepherds and Avengers, I think it's time for an official team exercise." Ruby takes charge, enthusiastically introducing her friends to Tails's new experimental mobile training room module. From a device planted on the floor, a massive energy field surrounds the heroes to augment their reality, projecting holographic Plegians and other frighteningly dangerous traps that'll help them train for the fight ahead, "Welcome to the Danger Room!"

"Like it! Look dangerous!" Sully smiled.

"Hence 'Danger' Room." Ruby quipped.

"Isn't that an X-Men thing?" The head-scratching Knuckles remarked.

"Blake's an X-Man. We can use it." Ruby retorted.

"Oh, right."

The Avengers' technology has proven to be one of the Alliance's greatest strengths. Their best advantage to match the limitless power of the Magitek ISO-8 Crystals that their enemies have in possession. Took some adjusting, but eventually the Shepherds got used to this augmented reality training as they join the Avengers in pushing themselves to their limits, with those like Lon'qu, Amy, and Blake clashing against tough holographic foes, and others like Stahl, Ruby, Knuckles, and a forgotten Kellam venturing through a difficult holographic course. The Alliance Leaders observe their friends training in the Danger Room and enjoying themselves so much that the Khans can't help themselves but getting excited.

"Look at the kids enjoyin' themselves. Itchin' to join just from watching them." Basilio smiled.

"Bet I can score more kills than you." taunted Flavia.

"Dream on, woman!" Basilio retorted, as the two Khans leave Spidey and Chrom to go and challenge themselves in the Danger Room.

BGM-Fire Emblem Warriors OST- Tranquility

"Glad our friends are staying positive during these dire times." Chrom smiled.

"Gotta keep up the morale." Spidey replied, "Our goals as heroes isn't just protecting people from their enemies. It's to also support and care for those they protect, so everyone can live happily in peace."

Chrom ponders, "Protect not just their lives, but their happiness as well…? I think you may be onto something. Still, I don't know, I'm no hero."

"You really believe that?" Spidey retorted, "I thought you were a hero the day we met. You found me and Robin in the middle of nowhere. You had no reason to help total strangers, and yet you did."

"That is the only way I know how to live my life." Chrom said.

"It's those unwavering ideals that motivate so many people to fight by your side. Being a hero doesn't mean you have to be perfect. Take a look at me. I am THE most imperfect hero you'll ever meet. But I still care for the people around me, and try my best guiding them, which is why I'm fighting off the shivers at the thought that I'm leading this massive army to what might be our ultimate doom." Spidey joked, yet still provided much advice to the growing prince.

"So, by that logic…without anyone around, a hero is just a normal person?" Chrom interpreted.

"Yeah…That's one interpretation…" Spidey commented a little unsurely, "Still, you're always surrounded by friends."

"Yeah…You're right! Because I can't do anything by myself!" Chrom responded, feeling cheered up.

"That's what you're taking away from all this?" Spidey retorted perplexedly.

"Just look at how much I rely on you and Robin. Without your aid, who knows where I'd be." Chrom said.

"Oh, come on…You're starting to embarrass me!" Spidey quipped, "It's the way you believe in your friends like this that makes you a hero to me. It's a tough life. They'll be times you're forced to make the impossible choice. But I'm confident you have what it takes to defend your kingdom once this war is over." He stated wisely.

Feeling honored that the Hero-Spider himself believes in him, Chrom smiles gratefully, "Well, if that's the case…I'll just have to become worthy of the title of hero. And our first step is saving Emmeryn!"

"Shouldn't be too hard." said Spidey after high-fiving the prince with a strengthened bond, "I'm surprised how easy it was sneaking into the country."

"I'd like to believe it's our cunning that got us this far without being spotted…" Chrom hoped as he glances at his sandy surroundings, "But we've seen far too little of the Plegian Guard. Where are they? Whatever trap Gangrel and Grimadoom has planned, they are in no hurry to spring it."

Right after, Cordelia appears before her prince with some info she's eager to share with him, "Prince Chrom! Lord Spider!"

"Just call me…Ah, whatever." Spidey shrugs his humble arms, starting to not care about people addressing him so formally.

"I was able to gather some valuable information in the desert!" Cordelia told them.

"What, already?! And you just left a few minutes ago! The redheads here are just as amazing as the ones back home! You really can do everything…" Spidey complimented the pegasus knight.

"Cordelia is the best of the best. We'd be lost without her." Chrom smiled.

"I—uh! Uh…huh…" Cordelia blushed from his compliment, shy and so flustered of the handsome prince she has harbored romantic feelings for so long that she steps away for a moment to calm herself down.

"She's invaluable on the battlefield. Truly, I consider her irreplaceable." Chrom continues with the compliments that flusters his friend even more, until it took both him and Peter a moment to confusedly realize her face is bright red, "…Cordelia? What's wrong?"

"Boys." Weiss suddenly walks in with Sonic, mocking her leaders for their cluelessness.

"Ehem! Ah, well…forgive me, Chrom! Allow me to continue my report." Cordelia regained her calming composure to continue from where she left off, "I spotted some manner of engagement downfield. A group of suspicious men pursuing a strange little girl through the desert."

"Don't like the sound of that. We should go help her out. Just you, me, and Ice Queen. Should be enough to put those creeps in their place." Sonic suggested.

"Confident you're enough or just being cocky?" Chrom sternly asked the cocky hedgehog.

"A little of both." Sonic smirkingly quipped, "These desert sands will just slow everyone down. With my speed, Weiss's magic and glyphs, and Cordelia's flying horse, we'll get this done pronto. 'Sides, I doubt these creeps are working for Gangrel. Everyone else needs to be on the lookout for his goons."

"Understood. Still, we'll be active on comms if you need us." Chrom replied, placing his trust in the hedgehog to lead this mission without causing a scene.

"Right!" Sonic responded with a thumbs-up before he, Weiss, and Cordelia head out to investigate the commotion in the desert.

Shortly after…

An innocent little girl with a dramatic side is looking to be running away from someone. She's not exactly sure who or how many they are, but she doesn't care as she runs as far as her little legs could take her across the desert. Eventually, her exhaustion caught up and was forced to take a break from the endless running to catch her breath huffing, "Have…Have I lost him?"

"Wait, I say!" The voice of a seasoned mercenary startles the girl, with the man quickly following after her, "Why you no comprehending, wee one?" He speaks to her with a Russian accent.

"AUGH! GET AWAY! Everyone just leave me ALONE!" The Girl screamed, frantically throwing sand to keep the mercenary at bay.

"Please, be keeping down with the voice! You give away position! Very bad!" The Mercenary frowned, trying to calm her down.

"My throat is dry, my shoes are full of sand, and some big weirdo is trying to KILL ME!" The Girl cried out, believing this man is here to kill her.

"Oy, you break Gregor's heart! Why you treat like villain?" Gregor revealed his name, while hurt from her insult.

BGM-Sonic Forces OST-A Hero Falls

"Gotcha, you slippery scamp!"

Suddenly, the Gregor and the mysterious Girl found themselves cornered by a group of sinister cultists that are forebodingly interested in the child. "Prepare for a dose of Grima's wrath." said by the same Cultist that just threatened them.

The stern Gregor hurries to the girl's protection, defending her with his sword and body, "Oy, this is most terrible! Do you see now? They make with the catching of us!"

As the Cultists are just about to attack, Sonic appears in the nick of time with Homing Attacks that knock them out in a breeze. "You okay, kid?" Sonic asked the girl, who is as amazed as Gregor from the awesome speed he showed off.

"Y-Yeah…" The Girl said in awe, enamored by the hedgehog so much so that she thinks of him as, 'So cooooool!'

"You there! Fiend!" shouted Weiss, arriving mounted to her Nevermore summon alongside Cordelia to interrogate the suspicious mercenary, "Keep your hands off that girl!"

BGM-Fire Emblem Awakening OST- "The Vaike never forgets! I just don't always remember."

"Who is fiend? ...You mean Gregor? No, friend! You have idea wrong!" Gregor retorted.

"Yeah right, creep! I saw you chasing her through the desert! Why were you all after the girl?" Cordelia framed him.

"All? What is this "all"? Gregor is not one of "all"! Look close! Gregor have innocent-baby face!" He shows the heroes his baby face to prove his innocence, which doesn't really work as his baby face simply weirds them out.

"Hmm…" Sonic reacts with a sweatdropping confused face.

"Well…" Cordelia reacts with a disgusted face.

"Yeah…Not sure 'innocent baby' is how I'd describe it…" Weiss reacts with unamused indifference.

"Gah! Never be minding!" The annoyed Gregor stops with the baby face, "Gregor is not enemy! You must believe!"

Sonic sighs while scratching the back of his quills, "…This is making my head hurt."

Unbeknown to the heroes, they are being observed by Grimadoom standing ominously atop the nearest mountain. The Crown Prince sensed the heroes had arrived in Plegia some time ago, but wants to keep this tidbit a secret to avoid Gangrel interfering with his personal plans for them. He is then joined by Chalard, another loyal member of the Grimleal cult that kneels before his master's counterpart informing him, "Forgive us, Master Grimadoom. We failed to capture the Manakete for the sacrifice."

BGM-Sonic and the Secret Rings OST-The Last Palace

"Yes, I saw." Grimadoom snarked, "Couldn't care about the girl. I'm more interested in the Blue Hedgehog."

"Should we capture him for you?" Chalard asked.

"He is WAY out of your league. But you CAN assist in warming him up for me." Grimadoom thrust his hand down at the desert while charging up his magic to cast a special spell of terror. A large summoning circle infuses with the desert sands that causes a portion of it to collapse into a spiraling vortex that is moments away from summoning a demonic creature from another world. "The two of us must clash again. His army against mine at our fullest strength during the Exalt's execution day. Win or lose, the battle will produce a tremendous amount of War Energy. The key into breaking the seal that hides the Red Star. The Exo War Stone!" Grimadoom revealed his master plan, using this war and the stone monument he found the other day to help him find the third Exo Stone, the War Stone.

The desert tremors grow strong, enticing Sonic's group into quickly glancing for the source of the shakes. "What's this?!" Sonic questioned.

"Look!" The Manakete Girl points everyone to the large quicksand pit.

To everyone's horrified disgust, the outworldly creature that's crawling out of the pit is a giant purple scorpion with too many eyes to count. The Sand Scorpion. "Oy! That is big scorpion! Looks tough!" Gregor commented.

"A Sand Scorpion? Haven't fought one of these since my time in the Arabian Nights. Didn't know they're also native here." Sonic remarked, familiar with this demonic bug.

"Nah. Looks foreign." Gregor just casually figures out this Scorpion is from another world.

The Sand Scorpion immediately throws a barrage of bombs that forces the heroes to evade quickly, delaying them from it rushing to rampage toward the nearest village. "It's heading straight for that village!" The surprised Cordelia noticed.

Quickly, Sonic touches his earpiece, "Yo, Chrom! Got a giant multi-eyed scorpion heading for a northeastern village! Have a team warn them of the danger pronto!"

'A GIANT multi-eyed scorpion…?' Chrom responded in disbelief, 'Alright, I'll believe you. A team was already deployed gathering supplies. I'll pass along the message. You focus in killing that thing before it reaches the village!'

"Will do!" Sonic hangs up before turning to his newest friends, "Greg! Kid! Think it's best you stick with us as we squash that bug!"

"I'm not a kid! My name is Nowi! And…you REALLY want to protect me?" Nowi asked after introducing herself, still a little wary of the heroes.

"It's what heroes do. And Greg doesn't seem like a bad guy." Sonic assured her with a comforting smile, "Pair up with the girls. We're headin' out!"

Deciding to trust these strangers, Nowi hops onto Weiss' Nevermore as Gregor joins Cordelia on her pegasus. Sonic speeds off right before his team with the mutual goal in destroying the Sand Scorpion before it reaches the village.

At the Northeastern Village…

BGM-Sonic Unleashed OST-Shamar (Day)

"Staves…Vulneraries…Seals…Think we're good!" said Amy after listing off the bought items from her list. "Unless there's something else you guys want to buy before we head back to camp." She turned to her group of heroes that were tasked in gathering supplies for the coming battle.

"Think I can buy some ingredients for a rhubarb-and-fiddlehead pie? Want to bake it for Chrom to ease his stress." Sumia responded.

Amy smiles, "That's very nice of you, Sumia. Okay!"

"Ugh! I know Frederick loves doing this job, but why am I reduced to a packmule?" Spidey complained, carrying several heavy grocery bags alongside Frederick as they approach the girls. "I'm supposed to be your leader! This is very disrespectful!"

"We just love taking advantage of that spider-strength of yours." Yang teased her ex-boyfriend, "It's not like you were arguing beforehand, 'cause we know you can't help yourself being a gentleman to beautiful women."

"Taking advantage of my weakness. You really are the daughter of a ruthless bandit." Spidey quipped dryly.

"I try not to take pride in that." Yang snarked.

"I can bake you pie too to make you feel better." Sumia smiled.

"Thanks, Sumia." Spidey retorted appreciatively.

Suddenly, Peter feels that foreboding tingling sensation again that gets him thinking, 'Spider-Sense tingling!' and turning to scared civilians running away from something.

"Gods help us!" One Scared Civilian shouted.

"The Grimleal are invading with their demon!" Another Scared Civilian shouted.

"Grimleal?" wondered Spidey.

BGM-Sonic X OST-Battle

Dropping everything they were doing, Spidey leads his forces to help fight off the attack by first finding out what this demon is. They stopped at the town entrance as quick as they were spotting the rampageous Sand Scorpion heading their way. "Whoa, look at the eyes on that scorpion! It's uglier than Mac Gargan!" Spidey joked.

'Spider-Man, come in! This is Chrom!' Chrom contacts the webslinger, 'A giant scorpion creature is heading your way! Sonic's group is en route to kill it before it arrives! Defend the village in the meantime!'

"Should be a breeze." Spidey quipped before his Spider-Sense warned him of another danger.

Swiftly, the heroes dodged an ambush attack sprung by Chalard that is leading his Grimleal forces to battle them. Upon glaring at the Hero-Spider, the Dark Mage Commander chuckles a sinister, "If it isn't the Living Legend that birth that accursed Spider-Society! You dare return to defy Grima, god of annihilation?"

"Double dare. Been defying Grimms and Grimadooms back in my hometown. Fun pastime." Spidey quipped.

"You and this village will pay for your insolence!" Chalard retorted, using magic to unleash a dark energy barrage that the Webslinger evades, leading to another sorcerer catching him in their Nosferatu spell that's draining the life out of him. Amy smacks away the sorcerer, interrupting the spell as the Alliance look sternly ready to defeat the Grimleal.

BGM-Sonic and the Secret Rings OST-Poison Spear

Meanwhile, Sonic's group are in hot pursuit of the Sand Scorpion through this sandy oasis. The demonic creature tries slowing them down with a massive bomb barrage that Sonic swiftly evades with high-speed sidesteps and the fliers dodge rolling, with Weiss being extra and using a reflective glyph to stun the demon with its own attack, causing it to accidently slam a tail that Sonic uses to reach and Homing Attack its largest eye in the back.

Just as the Sand Scorpion recovers, Gregor leaps off his pegasus shouting, "Now to face maker!" and lands to brutally stab his sword in its giant eye to try and force it away from the village. His little plan worked as the screaming scorpion swerves away from its target, before Gregor jumps back onto the pegasus.

"Nice job, Gregor! You forced it away from the village!" Cordelia complimented him.

That last assault really enraged the Sand Scorpion into going berserk with attacks that surprised the heroes and left them with little time to react, such as a hyperfast tail smack that knocks back Sonic. "Mr. Needlemouse!" Nowi shouted in concern for her blue savior. Swiftly, both she and Weiss were blasted out of the sky by bombs that destroyed their mount. Falling from a terrifying height scares Nowi into revealing a mysterious blue stone in her hand that will turn the tide of this battle after she screams, "STOP TRYING TO HURT ME!"

Her Stone then glows with a powerful magic that transforms her into a large yellow dragon with winged green wings that're helping her fly and catch Weiss, who is immediately surprised by her draconic transformation. "What in the world?! You're a dragon!" The Huntress exclaimed.

"By the gods, she's a manakete…I never thought I'd see one." An equally-surprised Cordelia recognizes her kind.

"Heh. Perhaps you didn't need our help so much as we could use yours…" Sonic grinned upon returning to the fight, "Whaddya say, Nowi?"

"I say we crush it!" Dragon Nowi retorted, unleashing an extremely powerful fire breath that incinerates the Sand Scorpion to near death.

Just one more Homing Attack to the eye and the Sand Scorpion is finished. "GRAAAAAAARRRRGH…!" All of its eyes turn black and collapses, screaming with its last breath.

"Can't take the heat, stay out of the desert." Sonic joked, celebrating his victory alongside a giggling Dragon Nowi and his friends.

The battle with the Sand Scorpion is finished, as is the battle with the Grimleal. Spider-Man's group took down those that attempted to ambush them with ease, with Spidey and Frederick delivering the final combo that defeated the Dark Mage that led them. "Master Grima…my lifeforce…is yours…" Chalard said before collapsing into unconsciousness.

"Gods praise ye, good people! Gods praise ye one and all!" said the Village Elder approaching the warriors that saved his village, "We lives in constant fear of what the Grimleal will do to us, so we does! 'Ere!" He hands Spider-Man a magical staff, "Take this staff!"

"Thanks, but you don't have to give this to us." Spidey replied humbly, wanting to hand back the staff.

"Please. You have me blessings." The Elder smiled, prompting the Hero-Spider to keep it as a sign of gratitude.

BGM-Fire Emblem Awakening OST- "It appears the capital was spared the chaos."

"This is just the worst. Day. EVER!" Nowi sobbed, following her new friends into the village where they reunite with Spidey's group.

"Ho now, wee one! Do not make with the crying of tears." Gregor said a refreshing grin, comforting the dragon girl with gentle head rubs, "The evil people and scorpion are now dead people and scorpion. This is good, no?"

"You…You're right." Feeling cheered up thanks to the kindhearted mercenary, Nowi smiles, "Th-thank you. And…I'm sorry I was so mean to you earlier. I just get nervous around people who are…outside my age group."

"Your age group? Ha! Gregor much closer to your age than others here!" Gregor laughed.

"See you made some new friends." Spidey teased the Blue Hedgehog.

"Yup. This is Nowi, a manakete that can transform into an awesome dragon." Sonic smiled while introducing the happy-waving manakete. "And this is Gregor. He's a…" He then shoots a confused look at the mercenary asking, "What do you do again?"

"Gregor is mercenary. Maybe you hire Gregor to look after little girl?" Gregor suggested to be paid to join their Alliance, "True, Gregor just finish killing former employers, but still very reliable! So long as you not try to hurt little girl, Gregor will not hurt you. Also, Gregor need to steady income. …Many angry former employers."

"I can relate to the money problems." Spidey quipped, "Why not? You're hired! Chrom will pay ya! He's loaded!"

'What was that?!' Chrom retorted angrily from the earpiece that's not ruining Peter's amusement.

"But! But what about me?! I WON'T go back on the auction block!" Nowi professed.

"Wait. You've been sold? Like a…like a slave?!" The surprised Yang remarked.

"To men more despicable than you can possibly imagine. They made me transform for them... They drank and laughed and called out tricks…" Nowi revealed her abusive past.

Yang scowls, "What kind of scumbags buy and sell a little girl?! Even if she CAN turn into a dragon…"

"She may be little, Ms. Xiao Long, but not nearly so young as you might think. Manaketes live a very long time." Frederick explained.

"Really? …How old are you?" Yang curiously asked the manakete.

"Oh, I dunno. ...A thousand...something?" Nowi believed, having lost track of her own long age.

"A thousand-years-old and still lookin' like an adorable little girl?" Sonic quipped.

Nowi smiles at him, "Yup! See? No wrinkles!"

"The dragonkin are said to be more resilient than men. Nowi would make a strong ally. Besides, we cannot risk her falling back into the hands of the Grimleal." Frederick suggested they keep Nowi as part of their Alliance as well.

"The Grimleal? Are you talking about those guys we just beat up?" Amy questioned him.

"Followers of the fell dragon, Grima. The selfsame dragon the first exalt defeated a thousand years ago. During those ancient times, the Spider-Society were at war with the Grimleal in order to prevent his resurrection until they fell to Morlun. Even today there are some who yearn for the fiend's return." Frederick briefed his friends on the Grimleal and their ancient rivalry with those that represent the Spider-Society.

"I see. No wonder they didn't like me." Spidey commented grimly.

BGM-Sonic and the Black Knight OST-The King's Peril

"Looks like you'll be hanging with us, Nowi." Sonic smiled at his new dragon friend.

"Hurray!" Nowi joyfully hugs the hedgehog, much to his embarrassment, "We're going to have SO much fun together!"

"HEY!" The jealously furious Amy pulls her away to scold her, "I don't care how old you are or you're a dragon! I'M Sonic's girlfriend! You don't get to touch him all willy nilly!"

"That's not fair! Show some respect to your elders!" Nowi angrily locks headbutts with the pink hedgehog as both are now competing for Sonic's affection, despite the awkward Blue Hero expressing no interest for either of them.

KFX Here: Even in the original game, I feel the Grimleal chapter is mostly filler since not much happens besides introducing the Grimleal. Next chapter will most definitely be the most action-packed, story-driven chapter so far. So I guess this chapter is a good breather.
