Did you really think I would leave off with a cliffhanger? Well, I'm not that evil. I am posting two chapters back to back so that it seems like a completed story. Considering I am quite free at the moment, I may be able to upload a third (though don't quote me on that) however if I don't it probably will come next week. The next one will be the "last" chapter of the story so far. I will be uploading another update explaining what I could potentially be taking this story to. Hopeful you all could provide any insights on what you think about these ideas.

Disclaimer: I DO NOT own any of these character names or the story itself. George RR Martin owns all of these characters from his story ASOIAF.

Chapter 11: Face-off

295 AC – the night of the full moon

Eddard POV

The moon was full, shining brightly in the sky, filling Eddard with dread. His heart ached with pain, hearing his daughter scream in pain, and being unable to help her, just filled him with guilt. Until the screams were replaced with the howl of the werewolf, it started to bash against the door. The door seem to struggle to contain the beast, the locks were about to break loose, as he and the men ready themselves. He had gathered at least thirty men, each equipped with a silver sword as a means to deter the beast from attacking, Eddard had also brought along Ice as extra insurance.

Lord Bolton had also decided to join him, as he put it 'wanted to see the results himself. All of a sudden the doors gave loose, one of them flying off its hinges, landing a few feet in front of us. The beast slowly trudged out; its fur was a deep auburn red, quite muscular and large if Eddard had to say at least two feet taller than Sansa's original height. The beast took notice of them, getting at all fours as its yellow eyes, darted back and forth across all the men. It took a step forward growling, as we drew our swords. I took a step forward with Ice in my hands, the beast eyed the Valyrian steel that I held. The beast snapped its jaws, backing up as it got on all fours, sniffing the cold air before bolting into the Wolfswood.

"Quickly, we must pursue" Eddard shouted, as the men ran to their horses and galloped after the beast. As Eddard mounted his horse, riding alongside his men, Roose Bolton pulled alongside his horse, "You should have heeded my advice, my Lord, perhaps if we had a fresh kill to present the beast we could have kept your daughter in one place".

"Your advice was sound Lord Bolton, but my men were insistent that the chains would hold Sansa. Besides, even if we provided the beast with fresh meat, what stops it from running off after finishing its meal?" I posed. After riding for an hour, it seemed we had lost sight of the beast, our torches barely providing us view within the dark forest.

"My lord, what do we do now?" Desmond asked as I turned to address them, "Harwin take ten of the men, head north-east. Lord Bolton, you will take your men northwest, if anyone of you have found the beast immediately report to me. DO NOT by any means, engage the beast; just keep sight of it at a safe distance". The men nodded as they rode off into the night, I led my party through the woods, 'Worry not, Sansa we are on our way'.

Roose POV

"My lord, we found some tracks" Roose rode over with his horse as the torches illuminated the darkness, revealing large wolf prints dug into the mud. They were on the right track, as they continued the pursuit. Roose wanted to join Lord Stark tonight, merely as a curiosity to see the beast in the flesh. Any legends told about werewolves, only scratched the surface of the power this creature possessed. Seeing the beast in the flesh was quite the sight, larger than he expected. It was wise of Lord Stark to bring his Valyrian blade, without it the beast would have attacked.

Roose was not a fool; he knew that the cabin built was not strong enough. He implored that the walls were to be reinforced with silver, but Lord Stark reported that they did not have enough silver to cover the walls. As they followed the tracks, blood trails were starting to appear near the footprints. It seemed that the beast must have caught a woodland creature or perhaps it had encountered the other party. Their horses whined and buckled, they were nearing their target.

Their torches would unveil the beast; it seemed that it caught a rabbit, as it was in the process of swallowing it whole. After consuming its prey, it turned to face the men, snarling and growling while baring its teeth. One of his men out of nervousness loosened his bow as the arrow flew hitting the beast in the shoulder. It recoiled in pain as it tore the arrow from its shoulder, they watched in fascination as the wound healed in a matter of seconds. The beast gave them one last look of anger, before bounding into the night.

Roose sighed frustrated, "Tell Lord Stark that we are on the trail of the beast", the man nodded as he rode off into the darkness, the torch illuminated his silhouette. He and his men continued the pursuit, as the howls continued into the night.

Notes:

Yeah, this chapter is quite short in comparison to the last chapter. I stated in the beginning statement, I plan to upload a set of ideas of what I could take this story to. Some of these ideas do end up diverging from canon, but I am interested in doing them and I wanted to see what you guys think of them. Anyway, read and review.
