Chapter 31 - The Coolest Dorm Room Contest Part 1

Heights Alliance: (U.A. High School)

The students started showing up one by one after having said goodbye to their parents, knowing they were unlikely to see them again for weeks at best. Two students were conspicuously missing however, Midoriya and Mineta.

"Did they drop out?" asked Sero.

"They wouldn't drop out willingly, maybe their new guardians pulled them?" theorized Kaminari, "Tokoyami, did you hear anything from Hawks?"

"Only that he doesn't have custody of Midoriya, but he and I are still his apprentices..."

"Hey what's a van pulling up here for?" asked Uraraka as a grey van drove up and parked in the drive area.

"Who do you suppose that is?" asked Ashido.

"Given that we're missing Midoriya and Mineta it is either one or both of them," answered Yaoyorozu watching the Dragon Hero Ryukyu getting out, "It must be Mineta."

"No, you're not going to try to get down on your own..." Ryukyu opened the side door and pulled out a wheel chair to the shock of the other students, then she lifted a protesting Mineta out of the van and plopped in the seat as he yelped. "See!" she got down and unfolded the foot rests.

"I can manage to wheel myself," said Mineta, "It's embarrassing!"

"Stay safe, and don't push things, you're not healed!"

"I know...thanks for giving me a ride here, I would be screwed if I tried to come by public transportation."

"Don't worry about it, I want you to keep in touch, got it!"

"I will!" promised Mineta as Ryukyu got back in the van and drove off. He started wheeling himself up to the others only for Kaminari to run up and get behind the chair to push him, "Hey!"

"Stop complaining, that thing isn't built for uneven terrain," his friend lectured him, "nor for pushing yourself up a hill."

"Has anyone seen Midoriya?"

"Midoriya arrived yesterday," said Aizawa who had walked up unnoticed with Midoriya behind him carrying a sleeping Kota.

"Recovery Girl?" asked Mineta, Midoriya nodded as Aizawa walked past, "and is that a flying dog?"

"Affirmative!"

"And it talks!" exclaimed Kaminari, "Hey you look just like the K-9 from the Doctor Who spin-off!"

"Affirmative."

"Okay now that everyone is here there is something that we need to get out of the way," spoke up Aizawa, "Some of you decided to launch your own rescue operation to retrieve Bakugo despite knowing it was against the rules. Ida, Kaminari, Kirishima, Todoroki, and Yaoyorozu you knowingly broke the rules and not only that you involved two members of Class 1-B in your little escapade."

"Wait, you mean I wasn't imagining things?!" asked Mineta.

"Dude, you fell back asleep as we were trying to talk to you..." answered Kaminari.

"Judging from everyone else's reactions, the lot of you also knew about it as well, very well. If it wasn't for All Might's sudden retirement, you'd be expelled, certainly the five of you that had gone, but I'd expelling everyone here with the exceptions of Bakugo, Jiro, Hagakure, Midoriya, and Mineta. In Midoriya's case, I know he didn't know about your little rescue attempt until he saw you through binoculars and was under orders to maintain radio silence." Some people started glaring at Midoriya so Aizawa continued, "Midoriya wasn't my source of information, I confronted him about this after I already had the names of who went to question him as to whether or not he knew about your rescue plan, and he didn't. If I had been trying to get the names of people involved, he wouldn't have told me even if it got him expelled." The same faces then looked chastened. "You all have broken our trust, in order to regain it you need to follow the rules to the letter from now on."

Kota started waking up, "W-what's going on?"

"They're here Kota," Midoriya explained, to which the boy nodded and started watching the other students warily.

"This brings up the other bit of news, due to what happened at Kamino Ward, Kota Izumi will be staying with us for the foreseeable future until such time it is determined he's no longer in danger of abduction. Do not badger him asking about what happened to him, do not badger Midoriya or Bakugo about it either. All you have to know at this time is that it was bad. That is all."

A lot of the class members looked really down so Bakugo hauled Kaminari off, got him to short-circuit and then paid Kirishima back for the night vision goggles, who then offered to treat the class to barbecue.

6th Floor Overlook: U.A. High School

Principal Nezu stood looking out at the Dorms through the window as two figures walked up behind him.

"Hawks, Keito," greeted Nezu seeing their reflections in the glass.

"So did you call us here for a social visit or?"

"Well first I'm sorry about you not getting custody of Midoriya."

"Don't be, if I hadn't taken him along, there was a good chance I would have been killed," Hawks shrugged, "that isn't why you called us though."

"I believe that there is a high probability that Hagakure wasn't the only source of All for One's information," said Nezu.

"I have to agree," said Hawks, "Hagakure had to have briefly abducted to have that thing put in her after-all. However, what concerned me more is All for One knew we were coming, he knew that I would be there and that Midoriya was supposed to be there."

"I see, I thought my calculations had taken into account that things would be leaked and there wouldn't have been time for your involvement to be leaked."

"All for One seemed to be caught flat-footed by the students impromptu rescue," commented the Flying Squirrel Hero, "Teach, I think that group of students could be crossed off the list of suspects for now."

"Problem is that Hagakure said she was also meeting with someone here but she can't remember who," replied Nezu.

"I'd pose as a student, but I'm too high profile," commented Keito, "Something else I noticed, the Skycrawler also caught them flat-footed. We didn't know about his involvement in the rescue until we arrived at the meeting, so our involvement could have been leaked by someone at the hospital."

"Could also be that Koichi Haimawari wasn't immediately recognized by the spy, he isn't well known in Japan after-all, or at least he wasn't until his surprise intervention to help All Might," Hawks pointed out.

"So what about the kid, this Kota Izumi? He's a target you realize that..."

"Keito, we've taken steps to ensure his safety," Nezu assured his former protege, "Hawks, I take it you will be taking Midoriya and Tokoyami on for the internships?"

"Yes, after the provisional license exams, why?"

"Just stay on guard, Midoriya was also a target..."

"I know," Hawks' phone started ringing, "Sorry I need to take this... Hello?"

"What do you mean its missing, and why the heck wasn't it destroyed in the first damn place?"

"Okay keep me posted..." he hung up.

"What's up?"

"You know how they took a blood sample, from Izuku back when they did a full check-up on him?"

"Didn't know they took blood samples, but it doesn't surprise me," said Rocky.

"Well it has gone missing..."

"Are you sure they just didn't lose it?" asked Nezu he frowned as Hawks shot him a scathing look, "I'm just trying to think of alternative explanations given we're dealing with bueracracies here."

"I'd believe it if Izuku wasn't such a point of focus for the President of the HPSC," replied Hawks, "You don't drop the ball on something your boss is paying attention to."

Height's Alliance:

Aizawa showed the students around then gave out the floor plan, "Girls will be on one side and boys will be on the other, I have laid out a floor plan where everyone's rooms are."

"Just glad there's an elevator, I'd be screwed otherwise," muttered Mineta.

"That and you don't have to unpack," commented Kaminari.

Later that evening:

"I'm kinda excited we're all living together now," said Kaminari.

"Man, I'm bushed," Kirishima complained flopping onto the couch.

"What are you talking about, it's only 7:00 PM?" muttered Kota Izumi with his ever present robot guard dog floating nearby.

"Didn't you take a nap all day?" asked Sero.

"Guys lay off him," said Midoriya, 'At least he isn't acting scared of his own shadow.'

"Communal living is another..."

"Shad-up!" snapped Bakugo.

"I wasn't talking..."

"Hey boys you finished with your rooms?" asked Ashido with the other girls following behind her.

"Yeah, we're just relaxing now," answered Kaminari.

"So yeah, we were talking and we got an idea. How about we take a peek in each other's rooms?"

'Say what now?' thought Midoriya.

Before anyone could stop them, the girls were up on the second floor shoving Tokoyami to one side to get into his room.

"So dark and creepy," commented Hagakure and Ashido.

"Get out!"

"Oh I had a keychain like this in middle school," commented Kirashima holding it up.

"Wait he has a sword?!" commented Kota trying to hide the fact he was wary of being in the dark.

"Is that a picture of you and Midoriya with Hawks' and his hero agency?" asked Uraraka.

"Yes, now please leave!"

"Now who's next?" said Ashido as the girls filed out and before Kota could stop them they had entered his room.

"HEY!"

"Wow it's kinda a Hodgepodge..." commented Hagakure, noting the charging station, the telescope with the astronomy books, there was a baseball, bat, and catcher's mitt in a small cubby. Another prominent feature was the fact there were at least four night lights.

"Wow, he's scared of the dark? That's kinda..."

"Ashido, that's enough," interrupted Midoriya as Kota looked down at the floor, totally ashamed.

"Yeah, I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking..."

"On to the next room," said Hagakure trying to change the subject.

"Hey wait a minute!" said Midoriya but the girls went ahead and barged in.

"Wow, it's a fanboy room!"

"I actually expected more All Might stuff..." said Jiro.

"A lot of my memorabilia was ruined when my mom was murdered, also a lot of it is in storage thanks to Principal Nezu, and has yet to be picked up by Mandalay."

"I'm sorry," said Jiro.

"Wow he has the same picture in his room as Tokoyami does," said Uraraka.

"Woah is that an actual Katana?" asked Kaminari.

"Yes, it's a gift from Hawks..."

"Moving on, who's the last boy on this floor?"

"Its Mineta's," answered Uraraka, "maybe we should move on to the next floor, I don't want to see a bunch of porn..."

Ashido opened the door before Uraraka could finish, "Oh my...uh wow this is actually pretty tame... Totally not what I expected."

"Wait you're kidding!" said Hagakure as she peeked in, "No posters of nude girls, no sex toys?!"

Kaminari took a look in the room, "Wow! I didn't know you were a Dragon Quest fan, D&D rulebooks, wait are you able to DM?"

"Yes," said Mineta wheeling himself into the room, "I used to actually be the DM for several campaigns with a group back in middle school, why?"

"We should have a class D&D campaign!" said Kaminari.

"Now see here that would be a complete waste of..."

"WHO ASKED YOU? Anyways, I'm heading to bed, this is lame."

"Hey you know you'd want to play!"

"You know I could see him playing a Barbarian," commented Sero.

"WHAT?"

"Actually, you would normally play as a Barbarian or a warlock," commented Midoriya, "Though the last time Kacchan and I played D&D together was when we were eight years old and his mom had to watch me for a few weeks. I was...kind of the odd man out of the party."

"So what would Midoriya be?" asked Ashido out of curiosity.

"Either a wizard, a rogue, or a bard," commented Bakugo, "there is an outside chance of him playing a ranger or monk; however the few times we played he was either the rogue or a bard, with a preference of bard."

Yaoyorozu took a look at an open sketchbook, "What the? How do you know my breast size, and Uraraka's...and Jiro's?"

"Look I can explain!"

"His mother is a fashion designer and she also stole some of his designs remember..." said Midoriya, "It stands to reason he could estimate it from a glance, without doing anything perverted..."

"My apologies Minoru, with everything that has happened, I'd forgotten about that part of your background."

"Apology accepted, I'd just been thinking up new costume ideas, random outfits, and stuff, there's nothing perverted in it, Ryukyu kinda asked to see some outfit ideas that I'd actually get credit for..."

"Okay but designing them with us in mind?" asked Jiro.

"Well I'm not exactly going to stalk random students in the school or women in public! I have the most interaction with you all, so it stands to reason I would have precise measurements to work with if I use you ladies as a baseline."

"Well, I have to admit, looking through this, nothing in here looks like anything we'd actually object to, it looks like the designs are for fall and winter outfits," commented Yaoyorozu.

"That's cause the time period Ryukyu wanted me to try to come up with was for fall and winter, it's too late for summer outfit concepts, or too early if we're talking next year..."

"Hey take a look at that picture over here," Uraraka commented checking out Mineta's desk, "There's a picture of Mineta and Deku with some woman..." Her eyes widened as she made the connection as Ashido facepalmed.

"Well I was expecting this room to be really creepy but it's surprisingly not," said Hagakure.

"Moving on!" called out Ashido.

Kaminari suddenly grabbed the back handles of Mineta's wheelchair. "HEY!"

"This way you can keep up, and not wear yourself out."

"Denki?"

"Yeah?"

"Thanks!"

"So about a D&D campaign..."

"We could do it, but I'd have to either pull a pre-made campaign or sit down and write one out."

"Cool, just need to figure out what kind of character I'd be."

"Most likely a Warlock or sorcerer," commented Mineta without missing a beat as Kaminari wheeled him to the elevator, "Though you could play a bard."

"Why not Paladin?"

"Ida would play a better Paladin, you're too chaotic."

Notes:

I figured this should be split into multiple parts, we actually get to see Mineta's room. I hope everyone enjoys this so far.

It kind of shocked the girls that Mineta's room wasn't R-rated. As far as him knowing the girls' measurements, it would be fairly easy for him to eyeball it given his fashion design background.
