Chapter 40 Olidroll City Part 8
Once they are finished, they go back to the Pokemon Center, meet the scientist, and return the Clipboard.
Scientist: You found my clipboard! Here's something I found the other day as thanks.
They get a Marble from the man in the end, much to their delight.
Scientist: So where did you find it, anyway?
Ash: It's in Olidroll Underground where Dylan's lab is.
Scientist: (Pales.) Please don't tell anyone I was there.
Lillie: If you are worried about the police, don't worry. Dylan and Tomas are free and the business continues to work.
This causes the scientist to sigh as he is not in trouble, and Ash and Lillie leave him be. And they decide to see what is on the news.
Nosy News: Good whatever time of day it is for you, viewers! I'm Nosy Nosepass here at Nosy News, keeping you up to date on the latest happenings in the Ceolis region! It seems like underground plots are being discovered all over Ceolis this summer! First, we had the Game Corner employee thefts, then we had the BCC aka Team Portal. And now we have an underground black market in Olidroll City!
Ash and Lillie are frowning as the news about the vitamin incident is now on television, and they feel the guilt rushing over their hearts once more.
Nosy News: But this black market wasn't being run by petty thieves or a mysterious organization. It was actually run by two Gym Leaders! Dylan, the Dark-type Gym Leader, and Tomas, the Poison-type Gym Leader! It would be unprofessional to mix in personal opinion with objective reporting, but I think it's safe to say this was a more grey area situation than the other two. What happened with the Game Corner and the BCC was outright stealing and treachery, but Dylan and Tomas never stole or betrayed anyone's trust. They felt the Department Store vitamins were too expensive, so they produced and sold their own to willing buyers at half-price. But what will the region think? With everything coming out from the shadows lately, it'd be understandable if anyone is feeling uneasy. This has been Nosy Nosepass! Thank you for listening in!
Ash: What will the region think, huh? I just hope that they aren't feeling bad.
Lillie: Me too...speaking of Department Store, how about we go there first, and then we should check out the Opaque Valley? I heard that there are a lot of Dark Type Pokemon living there and maybe we can find our own Dark Type Pokemon.
Ash: That sounds like a good idea, and maybe we will be prepared when we go to the Department store and buy some stuff.
The two nod as they go to the department store before the sun sets.
Ash and Lillie are now at the Department Store, they look around and see what they are selling. The first floor is mainly items sold in the Poke Mart, the second floor is for TMs, which they don't need, and the third floor is for vitamins.
Lillie: It seems like the Department Store is also selling them for 4900 dollars.
Ash: Yeah, maybe we can buy some for our Pokemon.
The fourth floor is for X Items, but Ash and Lillie don't like them, and the fifth floor is for Pokeballs.
Ash: Ceolis Ball? There is even a Pokeball like this?
Lillie: It says that Ceolis Balls are made in the likeness of Ceolis' first Champion, Ceolis. Like Premier Balls, they're purely cosmetic and don't have any differences from Standard Pokeballs in terms of catching mechanics.
Ash: But I think it's amazing that a Pokeball is designed after him.
Then for Ash's request, they buy some of them, and they even find a lady who can help them change the Pokemon's Pokeball, but they don't need to do it. And the final floor is for the vending machines, so they buy some of the items and then leave for Opaque Valley.
Ash: Maybe it is a bad thing to go to the Opaque Valley in the dark...
Lillie: I agree...this place sure is dark...
They then find some Impidimp who are trying to prank them, but after using Tynamo's Spark to punish them, Ash captures one of the Impidimp, and Tynamo evolves into Eelektrik in the end, and by using a Thunder Stone, he evolves it into an Eelektross.
Ash: Impidimp is not a good Pokemon to train with because of its naughtiness. But Grimssnarl is a powerful Pokemon.
Lillie: I agree...Hey! Ash! Why do I see two of you?
Ash notices himself in front of them, and he sighs as he notices the tail. He grabs the tail and it reveals to be a Zorua.
Ash: That's a Zorua. Your brother has a Zoroark, so it should be obvious.
Ash has Impidimp to battle the Zorua, and after evolving it into a Morgrem, he manages to use False Surrender to help to capture the Zorua. And then they also find a Murkrow on the ground, and Ash has Zorua battle the Pokemon, and after evolving it into a Zoroark, he manages to capture Murkrow by using Night Daze.
Lillie: You really like to capture some Dark Type Pokemon.
Ash: Dark Types are not that bad, they just like to live in dark places. And Murkrow can evolve by using the Dusk Stone. Which I have with me.
After using the stone, it becomes a Honchkrow, and Ash recalls it into the Pokeball. They also find a Marble and an Absol in the middle of the pond, so they decide to go get it, but the Absol just runs off.
Ash: What's with that Absol?
Lillie: I don't know...
They also find a Houndour, and Lillie wants to capture it, and she manages to capture the Pokemon in the end with Foongus' Spore, and Foongus evolves into Amoonguss. And Lillie uses Houndour to battle a Nickit, who tried to steal their stuff, and Houndour evolves into Houndoom and defeats it, giving Lillie the capture.
Ash: We are in a catching row...
Lillie: It is a good thing we bought a lot of balls from the department store.
And by having Nickit battling the Pancham, it evolves into Thievul, and Lillie also captures the Pancham. And by battling the Vullaby, they evolve Pancham into Pangoro. And Ash has Amarua battle the Sandile to evolve into Aurorus.
Ash: There's the Absol!
As they rush towards the Absol, it signals them to battle, and Ash goes for Lucario to battle it. After defeating the Pokemon with Close Combat, it nods and it gives them an Absolite, and it also agrees to join their team.
Lillie: Wow, an Absolite and an Absol...the problem is-
Ash: You don't have a Key Stone. I know what you mean.
But as they walk forward, they get a mail from the Police application.
Lillie: Looks like a new mission...
Case Name: Not today, Noctowl: Recently, Pokemon gangs have been fighting in Opaque Valley. Up until this point, we've ignored it since wild Pokemon battling each other isn't exactly illegal and they weren't posing many problems. This changed when a clear victor emerged, a gang of Hoothoot led by a Noctowl. They let their dominance over the other gangs get to their heads, and they've been hostile towards people passing through. Thye might consider it their territory. We need to drive them out of the area.
Ash: We are in the Opaque Valley...
They then spot five Hoothoot with a Noctowl, and the Noctowl is a different color. They start to attack them, but with Pikachu and Snowy's help, they manage to defeat the flying type Pokemon and they retreat, leaving the Black Glasses on the ground.
Lillie: Looks like we finished the mission.
Ash: Yeah...
And they also notice some trees are disguised by Trevenant and they are surprised, and they quickly run until they find a wall. Which turns out to be a Stakataka.
Lillie: Come on...Another Ultra Beast?
Ash has Pheromosa battle the Ultra Beast, and after giving it some kicks, it is defeated.
Stakataka: Stakataka! (Signalling Ash to capture him.)
Ash has Lillie giving him a Beast Ball, and then he throws it and captures the Ultra Beast.
Ash: Great, now we have three Ultra Beasts with us.
Lillie: Yeah...How about we go find the Mysterious Mansion?
Ash: Sure. Let's see what we can find inside.
Ash and Lillie's New Pokemon in Opaque Valley: Impidimp (Interact) Murkrow, Houndour, Zorua, Vullaby, Pancham, Nickit (Grass) Stakataka (Event)
Inside the Mysterious Mansion, they can find some Ghost and Psychic Type Pokemon in the area. Lillie decides to capture a Litwick, and by using Frillish to battle. Frillish also evolves into a Jellicent after Lillie successfully captures it. Ash goes for Indeedee as he uses Kabuto to battle, and after capturing it, Kabuto evolves into a Kabutops. They also train their wild Pokemon to let them evolve into their final forms, like Omanyte, Wailmer, Lileep, and Anorith.
But as they move forward, they find some trainers speaking nonsense, and they realize that the simulations from Isabelle are here again, so they battle them and defeat their Pokemon as they continue moving.
They go to the living room where two Indeedee and Gothita are staying, and they decide to read the diary.
Lillie: I wonder whose diary is it, let's check it out.
Ash: Sure. (Reads the cover.) It appears to be owned by someone named Belinda.
Day 1, the mansion is finished. This is where I'll be living for the time being. From what I've seen of the region, this valley is my favorite place. And it's right near some major battles. It's hard for most people to see here, which already makes my job as a saboteur easy.
Lillie: Yikes...a saboteur...
Ash: I know.
Meanwhile, I've mapped this entire area. I know the best spots to place traps, and I'll be able to maneuver effectively in battle. The Pokemon here seem to like me too, so I could probably count on their help.
Ash: I guess that's it.
Lillie: Maybe there is more scattered around the house? Let's find it.
But as they get to a room, the door is locked, and they can hear Mew's voice inside.
Ash: Is that a Mew inside?
Lillie: I don't know, or probably it is just Isabelle's stimulator. She is a Psychic leader and she might be doing this.
They get into the kitchen, and they find another diary on the table.
Day 33, the battles have been going on for quite some time. There've been wins and losses for both sides, and it's too early to make a bet on who will be the victor. I've had the most success, although with one person in particular I may have met my match...both in sabotage and love.
Lillie: Really?
I've never met someone who can not only predict my tricks but come at me with good ones of their own. When she set a Smokescreen, I was the one who couldn't see. Her name is Belladonna. She was a Poison-type Specialist. I wish we weren't enemies.
Ash: So they were enemies in the past...
Recently, I had a dream about a talking Litwick. The setting was similar to the mansion.
Ash: Wait, what? That was the same dream I had on the day I met you...a talking Litwick...
Lillie: I wonder what is going on...
It asked me whether I really think what I'm doing is right. At first, I brushed all this off as just a dream...but real or not, that Litwick has a point. The whole reason I join the Rogues in the first place was so we wouldn't have what the Rogues are doing now. I need to reflect on this.
Lillie: Here is another term that we have no clue about...Rogues... But I wonder what role is Litwick plays in the story...
Ash: I don't know.
As they open the fridge, they are surprised by a sudden Sinistea holding a Cracked Pot. Lillie finds it cute and she decides to capture the Pokemon.
In the bedroom, they find a Gengar jumping on the bed.
Ash: What are you doing?"
Gengar: The greatest ghost of all time, I'm the GOAT ghost. Sailed around the world, that's a boat boast. Threw a jacket in the ocean, made a coat coast. My bag burns bread, I called it tote toast.
Ash and Lillie decide to ignore the rhyming Gengar, as they read the final entry of the diary.
It's been a long time since I wrote in one of these. A lot of things have happened since then. I did eventually quit the Rogues and fought side by side with Belladonna against them. My defection weakened both their forces and their morale. After the Rogues lost, most of them returned to their home region. Humans discovered the Sea Stars in their underwater society and became acquainted. During that time, the battle against the Rogues was close to being over, though they did ally with us to stop [REDACTED].
Lillie: Redacted? What is he hiding? (Ash shrugs.)
The decision was made to form a Pokemon League. Both I and Belladonna ended up as Gym Leaders. Dark and Poison, respectively. We also got married. It turns out the feelings were mutual. We've both never been as challenged by anyone else as we were by each other. We're really happy. And today, we both retired as leaders so we could spend more time together. For my successor, I choose Dylan. He has my respect for bringing back Twilight Tavern and running it on his own. Belladonna chooses Tomas. He's made some noteworthy discoveries for both science and Pokemon. I came back here to write all this as closure for this mansion and what it means to me. I found out it was taken over by wild Pokemon and Isabelle's stimulations, but that's fine. I'm going to live together with Belladonna.
Ash: So that's the whole story...turns out that it is a love story.
Lillie: Yeah. Now that we know about the truth.
Before leaving, they also find a Rotom on the television, and they capture it even though Ash already has one in his Rotom Phone.
Ash and Lillie's New Pokemon in Mysterious Mansion: Litwick, Indeedee (Cave), Rotom, Sinistea (Event)
Here is a new chapter, and in this chapter, I introduce Opaque Valley, and the Mysterious Mansion. I hope you like this part and the next chapter will be the final mission for the police before battling the Gym Leader.
