Chapter 41 Olidroll City Part 9
Ash and Lillie are about to go to the Twilight Tavern, until they get a new message that is from the Police Application. Ash and Lillie are not that happy since they have to do the mission as soon as possible and Ash can't wait to have his seventh gym battle of Ceolis.
Case Name: Dentist Disturbance: For the past few days, some people have reported hearing sounds in the Dentist's Office after hours.
Ash: Don't tell me it's the donut-loving dentist that we met in Cave of Resolve...
It could be a thief, or just a wild Pokemon that got in. We need to investigate.
Ash and Lillie then walk towards the Dentist's office, but as they get there, the Dentist quickly pushes them into the operation room and locks the door.
Lillie: (Angry at what he is doing.) Hey! What is that for?
Dentist Drew: (Putting on the gloves and his mask.) Please remain seated or you will be defeated. Heh...Close Up.
Lillie sees that the Dentist sends out a Beedrill, so she decides to do the battle as she goes with Delphox. As for Ash, he just sits at the waiting seats instead of the operation seat to watch the battle.
Dentist Drew: Close Up, use Toxic Spikes.
Lillie groans as she knows that all of her Pokemon will be poisoned after switching out, and it goes for Assurance, which deals a lot of damage to Delphox.
Lillie: Delphox, I need you to use Fire Spin!
Delphox starts to spin its wand, and then Beedrill is taking damage while trapping in the Fire vortex. And it goes for Psyshock, which eventually defeats the Pokemon.
Dentist Drew: Aim, you're next.
The second Pokemon is Excadrill, and Lillie switches to Jellicent, and the poison from Toxic Spikes is unavoidable. Excadrill goes for Rock Slide, and it flinches Jellicent. But with the ability Cursed Body, Rock Slide is unable to use, so Lillie goes for Water Pulse, which is super effective. Excadrill tries to go with Drill Run, but Jellicent uses Shadow Ball to knock it out.
Dentist Drew: Aquafresh...clean them up.
The third Pokemon from the dentist is Seaking, and Lillie goes for Toxtricity, and it absorbs the Toxic Spikes, much to their relief. Seaking goes for Aqua Ring, surrounding itself in the Water Vortex, and then it goes for Water Pulse to deal some damage.
Lillie: Toxtricity! Use Overdrive!
Toxtricity strums its guitar-like body and creates a large sound, which deals damage to Seaking. In the end, it is defeated by Toxic and Venoshock.
Dentist Drew: Pepsodent, I need your assistance.
The fourth Pokemon is a Galarian Rapidash. Lillie decides to keep Toxtricity in, but it goes for Agility and then Throat Chop, making it unable to use Overdrive, and finishes it with a Psycho Cut.
Lillie: I'm sorry, Toxtricity. Lairon will avenge you.
And Lairon goes for Metal Burst, after the attack hits the Pokemon, it deals back the damage and knocking out Rapidash in the end.
Dentist Drew: Gleem, stop the trainer.
The fifth Pokemon is Escavalier, and Lillie switches to Incineroar to battle.
Ash: So far so good, Lillie's Incineroar is a Fire Type, which is super effective against a Bug and Steel Type Pokemon...
Escavalier goes for Headbutt, which causes Incineroar to flinch. Incineroar goes for Flamethrower, which is super effective against Escavalier. Escavalier manages to land Twineedle to make Incineroar poisoned, but Incineroar manages to knock it out of the battle by using Darkest Lariat.
Dentist Drew: So it comes to this, ArmHammer!
The final Pokemon is Rhyhorn, and Lillie switches to Serperior to battle. Serperior uses Attract, which causes Rhyhorn to be in love with her. But Rhyhorn lands a Bulldoze, which lowers the speed. Serperior goes for Leaf Storm, and it eventually defeats the Pokemon in the end.
Dentist Drew: (Looking at his Pokemon's teeth and then Ash and Lillie's.) There's nothing wrong with your teeth or your team.
Just then, unknown to them, a boy is watching them battle. And that boy is no other than the Ninja Boy Walt.
Walt: Woah...
Ash and Lillie are focused on the Dentist as they don't notice the ninja boy falling out of the cabinet.
Dentist Drew: Wait, you are the ones I met in the Cave of Resolve, are you here for the donuts?
Ash: No, we are here to investigate the sound problem. We're working with the police. (Both Ash and Lillie show the IDs to him.)
Dentist Drew: I see...I'd been informed about noises here late at night.
Lillie: Then why did you battle us? Shouldn't we catch the culprit except for trying to stop us?
Dentist Drew: My intention in battling you was to see if we could force the culprit out with noise and destruction. (Notices the ninja boy) Looks like we succeeded.
They turn around and they find Walt, Ash and Lillie recognize him as the Ninja Boy who has been causing them a lot of trouble back when they are doing the Ranger Sidequests.
Lillie: (Gasp.) You again! Ninja Boy Walt!
Walt: (Recognizes Ash and Lillie.) I'm not dealing with you again! Smoke Ball!
After that, the boy disappears out of their sight, much to their annoyance.
Dentist Drew: That's the kid you stopped on behalf of the Rangers, isn't it? To most people, I'm a dentist. But I guess you know me from a different set of circumstances. I sure haven't done you any favors. First, I ate all the donuts I got for you. (they were delicious, by the way).
Ash: It's fine, we are not hungry now.
Dentist Drew: And then I dragged you into a battle. The least I can do is help you find him. I have a general idea of where he'd be heading. Opaque Valley is the darkest place around. It's to the east of the Residential District. We'll search there.
Lillie: Just great, we just went there yesterday...
As Drew leaves before they do, they decide to ask about the patients around the office.
Patient: My teeth are really sharp! If you take this, your Pokemon can have sharp teeth too! (Gives a Dragon Fang.)
Lillie: Thanks.
After arriving at Opaque Valley, they stop in front of the Mysterious Mansion. Ash and Lillie are confused since they already head inside yesterday as well.
Dentist Drew: This is the old mansion of Belinda, Ceolis' first Dark Type Gym Leader. When she resigned and moved to another part of Ceolis, she let this mansion be accessible to the public. Her diaries are a pretty interesting read, but Walt wouldn't be in there. Wild Pokemon and some of Isabelle's creations have taken up residence.
Ash: We know, we've been here yesterday and did all of them.
Then they continue to move forward, as they meet the Trevenant disguising as trees.
Dentist Drew: These trees stand out. From someone who came from the entrance to Opaque Valley, behind the trees might be a good ambush spot. But Trevenant likes to hide near these trees and spook people. He wouldn't be here for more than a few minutes.
After that, they find a hidden path in the trees, and Ash and Lillie can only mutter in surprise.
Dentist Drew: Here we are. A narrow path between trees that can be easily overlooked.
After getting into the hidden path, they finally find Walt, who is taking a breath. But after noticing Ash and Lillie, he pales once more.
Ash: There you are, Walt.
Walt: (Gasps) You found me! I don't have any more Smoke Balls, so I guess I've got no choice.
Ash is going to battle Walt this time, and he goes with Ninjask as his first Pokemon, Ash goes for Bastiodon to battle this Pokemon, and even though the speed is not on the same level, Ninjask is using Double Team, but Bastiodon goes for Rock Slide, which hits all the copies. And after getting hit by Fury Cutter, it goes for Metal Burst, which eventually knocks out Ninjask in the end.
His second Pokemon is Sableye, the one with the Shadow Sneak, and Ash goes for Granbull to battle. Granbull is using Play Rough on the Dark and Ghost Type Pokemon, which is super effective. Sableye goes for Shadow Sneak, which hits Granbull as well. Granbull uses Odor Sleuth, which makes the Return attack hit Sableye, and it goes for another Play Rough, which defeats the Pokemon.
The third Pokemon is Scyther, as Ash and Lillie haven't battled this one before. Ash goes for Ampharos to battle this Bug and Flying Type Pokemon. Scyther is using Razor Wind, which makes Ampharos hit by this normal type move. Ampharos goes for Power Gem, but Scyther just dodges the attack with ease. Ampharos goes for Thunder Punch, which finally hurts Scyther, and in the end, Scyther is defeated by another Power Gem.
And the final Pokemon is Greninja, and Ash uses his own to show him how his Greninja is better, and when Walt notices that the Greninja is Ash-Greninja, it pales as he realizes who he is dealing with. And Walt's Greninja is being defeated by Greninja's Fury Cutter because of the Type advantage.
Walt: (Yells in frustration.) Why does it keep happening! (Recalls Greninja.)
Ash: It keeps happening because you keep causing trouble.
Lillie: Why do you do this?
Walt: (Seeing he is surrounded, finally admits) I've always been a fan of Koga's ninja family from Fuchsia... I thought if I started practicing those skills and made a name for myself, they might hear of me...
Ash: And you think Koga would proud of you for annoying and stealing from people? It's not just about what you can do, it's why you do it.
Dentist Drew: Ash is right. Do you think I'd have any respect as a dentist if I punched people in the mouth just so I can fix their teeth later?
Walt: (Lowers his head.) I guess not...
Dentist Drew: If you want people to recognize your ninjutsu, why not start a club? Tullborn City has plenty of clubhouses. I'm sure they wouldn't mind one more. Maybe you'll attract other aspiring ninjas.
Walt: (Now with excitement.) Th-that's a good idea! I think I'll do that! And you should come to visit sometime!
Lillie: We'll be sure to.
Drew: Since we've worked everything out here, I should be heading back to work now, though. See you later.
After that, Drew and Walt leave them alone, and Ash and Lillie are relieved that Walt is not going to cause any more trouble again.
Ash: Now I think we are not going to have more annoyance again, right?
Lillie: I wonder if we can get any reward from the police after we did everything to help them out...
They return to the Police Station and find a Sobble that is interested in how they handle all the Police Cases, and Ash captures it in the end. By using the Training rooms, Ash also trains Sobble to evolve into Drizzile and eventually Inteleon.
Ash: I'm glad that Sobble didn't cry, or else it will have been a disaster...
Lillie: I agree...when Sobble cries, we will also cry too...now let's go to the Gym, should we?
Ash: Sure. We have been keeping Dylan waiting for so long.
Here is a new chapter, and now the quests are done, the next chapter will be the final part in Olidroll City. And then we can continue with the game by going to other places. I hope you like this chapter, and the next chapter will be the Dark Type Gym Battle against Dylan.
