Chapter 45 Rematch with Jim
After leaving the Pokemon Center, they find some Sawk and Throh battling each other, so they capture each of them before they find a house.
Ash and Lillie's New Capture in Premoggin Softlands: Throh, Sawk (Interact)
Ash: I think this is Lee's house.
Lillie: I guess so.
But suddenly, they hear the voice as they look at the fridge, they find their seventh speaker.
Mysterious Voice: Boo! Lee spends most of his time training outside, so it's easy for me to hide here without him even noticing.
Ash: Okay...
Then they leave the house as they go to Premoggin Canyon. Lillie captures a Rufflet, as she remembers how Professor Kukui has a Braviary and how cool it is. Ash captures a Litleo, as he remembers how cool Pyroar is, and he notices that he captures a male Litleo, and after evolving, it has a mane that makes Lillie in awe. And he captures a Helioptile, using the Sun Stone to evolve it into a Heliolisk.
The next capture for Lillie is a Kangaskhan, she is interested in Mega Evolving it because of the ability it has, and she also finds the Mega Stone nearby. She also captures a Mudbray, and evolves it into a Mudsdale, though Ash doesn't seem to like Mubray as he was kicked once and sent flying.
Then they remember Draga telling them that this place is where Jangmo-o lives, and she captures one of them and trains it so that it becomes a strong Kommo-o. Then they also spot a Sigilyph flying around the area, so they chase after it and Ash captures it with the help of Pikachu.
After walking a while, they see Jim and his tour group standing in front of the temple, which is surrounded by some Stonjourners, so Ash and Lillie manage to capture one of them to the team.
Jim: What you see here is the Neon Temple, which houses the legendary Pokemon Regigigas. Most of you passed through Olidroll City to get here. As I am sure you observed, Olidroll City has three districts: Service, Recreation, and Residental. What you may not know is that Olidroll actually used to have four districts. The fourth was called the Party District. The people of the Party District called upon Regigigas strength to physically separate it from the rest of Olidroll. It's now located beyond the Yellow Sea.
Ash: So it really is Regigigas' doing. No wonder the guard says that it disappeared.
Lillie: And the Yellow Sea...I think we heard of this name from the Lanturn Lighthouse...
Jim: The Party District was always intended to be an invite-only place, and they were tired of having to throw tourists and people from the other parts of Olidroll out. You may be wondering, "How exactly do you get accepted to the Party District?" One way is to be famous for having a notable achievement to your name. Another is to earn 17 Ceolis' League badges.
Ash: (Mutters.) 17 badges...this is crazy...I mean...usually, there are only 8 badges in the other regions...
Jim: There are four of us whose strength stands out even among Gym Leaders. If the Elite Four were to suddenly retire all at once, they would be the ones to take their place. And the strongest of those four is in the Party District, now called Party City. She called herself DJ Ultra Beats.
Lillie: DJ Ultra Beasts? Is that a person's name? That is really weird.
Jim: All that aside though, this is where the tour officially ends. You're free to explore the Neon Temple if you want.
Jim finishes the tour and he notices Ash and Lillie, who decides to greet him back.
Jim: Oh, hello there, Ash and Lillie! I haven't seen you in a while. In addition to being a Gym Leader, I'm also a part-time tour guide for P.I.E Tours! Whenever I'm scheduled to give a tour I just fly right there on Sky. Maybe you'd like to be able to do that too?
Then he gives them an HM for Fly, much to their surprise as they accept it.
Jim: And since you are here, why not have a battle? I'd like to see how you've progressed, and I'm sure my tour group wouldn't mind seeing a Gym Leader battle!
Jim uses Sky, who is now a Staraptor. Ash goes for Rotom to battle.
Jim: I see you're using a Ghost Type...I guess the only move I can use is Fly.
As Staraptor goes for the attack, Ash knows that the Hidden Power is still Fighting Type, so it tries to use Electric attacks, and in the end, it uses Discharge to knock Staraptor out once it deals damage with Fly attacks.
Jim's second Pokemon is Meadow, now his Sawsbuck. Ash switches into Crobat to battle this Pokemon. It manages to poison Sawsbuck with Poison Fang, but the Aromatherapy causes the status effect to be healed.
Ash: I don't know it has Aromatherapy...this is awful...
But it is using Horn Leech and Hidden Power as the attack moves, which aren't doing well on Crobat. Crobat uses Acrobatics to knock out Sawsbuck in the end, much to his relief.
Jim's third Pokemon is River, his Bibarel. Ash sends out Roserade to battle. Bibarel uses Facade, which deals a lot of damage, but Waterfall on the other hand doesn't. Roserade uses Attract to make Bibarel fall in love with it.
Ash: I guess that works as well. Use Petal Dance!
It goes for the attack and it is super effective against Bibarel, and in the end, it uses Leaf Storm to defeat the Pokemon.
The fourth Pokemon is Desert, now his Heliolisk. Ash goes for Krookodile, but the Hidden Power is giving it a lot of damage. Even though Dig attack makes Krookodile giving the Pokemon a lot of serious damage, but the Hyper Voice causes Krookodile to get hit by the attack, and eventually, another Hidden Power knocks out Krookodile. Much to Ash's surprise.
Jim: Looks like I got my first win against you.
Ash: You did, but I'm still going to win.
Ash can only send back Rotom to battle, and with the Uproar, it finally knocks out Heliolisk as it takes a lot of damage when battling Krookodile.
The fifth Pokemon Jim uses is Farm, his Dubwool. Ash goes for Lucario.
Jim: I see you're using Lucario...it was defeated by Lucario last time.
But the Body Press and the Hidden Power deals a lot of damage to Lucario, much to Ash and Lillie's surprise. And Lucario manages to use Aura Sphere to give the Dubwool a lot of damage. But in the end, the match ends up a draw after Lucario and Dubwool use Headbutt and Close Combat at the same time.
Ash: Looks like Lucario is defeated this time...but I still have four Pokemon.
The final Pokemon is Girafarig, Savanna. Ash uses Greninja to battle this Pokemon. It is stronger than last time, as Hidden Powder deals a lot of damage on Greninja. But Ash activates the Ash-Greninja form, much to the tourists' surprise.
Tourist 1: Hey! That's the Greninja in the Kalos League 3 years ago!
Tourist 2: I remember him! He is the hero of Kalos and now the World Monarch!
With the power-up, Ash and Greninja finally defeat Girafarig with Water Shuriken, and a lot of Kalos tourists are asking for autographs from Ash, much to his annoyance and sweatdropping.
Jim: Thanks for giving the audience a good show! (Recalls Girafarig.) You've got a lot stronger. Maybe one day I'll be calling you Champion! By the way, have you explored the main section of Virima City?
Ash: No, I think the road was blocked off by some Pokemon battling with each other.
Jim: I think those Pokemon were fighting each other on the bridge when you were there, but Rania is on her way back to Virima. She's the one who usually deals with them.
Lillie: I see. Though I don't know who she is.
Jim: I think I'm going to be heading back home now. The tour is finished and I wouldn't want to keep any challengers waiting longer than they have to. Good luck with the rest of the League!
After that, they all bid farewell to Jim and his tour group as they leave the canyon. But Ash and Lillie find a Chimchar on the road as they are confused.
Chimchar: I challenge you to a Martial Arts battle.
Lillie: A Martial Arts battle? What does that mean?
Ash: I don't know. But I know someone who can help it out.
Ash sends out his own Infernape, as they do the battle. Just then, they find that each monkey has 10 health, and there are Defense, Precise Attack, Fierce Attack, and Special Attack. Infernape goes for Special Attack, and it pierces through Chimchar's defenses, making it lose 3 health.
Ash: I think I can only use Special Attack for one time...then let's try out Fierce Attack.
And the two of them hit each other, with both sides losing 2 health. Then Ash tries out Precise Attack, and they are now crossing blades with their opponent.
Lillie: I don't think I understand this kind of battle...
Ash: Me neither...
Infernape then tries more attacks, until Chimchar is defeated, and it decides to join Lillie's team to be as strong as Ash's Infernape.
Lillie: Okay...that was weird...
Ash: I know what you mean...

Then they also go into the Neon Temple, which is the place where Regigigas is sleeping. Though all they see is a puzzle of Strength Boulders, they decide to come to it later. But they manage to capture some new Pokemon.
Lillie captures a Bronzor, and by training with the Nosepass in the area, it evolves into Bronzong. She also captures the Nosepass and uses the Link Stone to evolve it into a Probopass.
Lillie: This place sure is full of Psychic and Ghost Type Pokemon...
Ash: Yeah, but Regigias is a Normal Type Pokemon...I wonder why is that there are so many Psychic and Ghost Types...
Ash also captures some Ghost Type Pokemon like Golett and Honedge, and by training them, Ash has his own Golurk, and his own Aegislash by using the Dusk Stone on Doublade and by battling the Baltoy and Elgyem, he also captures Baltoy and Elgyem in the end and trains them into Claydol and Beheeyem. And finally, Lillie captures a Spiritomb and also battles some Yamask in the area, also capturing one to make it a Cofagrigus.
Ash: (Notices a different pillar.) Is it just me, or this pillar looks different?
Lillie: I don't know...
But as they touch the pillar, it comes out a Galarian Yamask, much to their surprise.
Lillie: Wow...so this pillar is absorbing the Yamask to make them Galarian Yamask? That is quite a smart idea...
Ash: But there is no Dusty Bowl...I wonder how it is evolved...
Ash and Lillie's New Pokemon in Neon Temple: Nosepass, Baltoy, Bronzor, Yamask, Spiritomb, Elgyem, Golett, Honedge (Cave) Galarian Yamask (Interact)
After capturing the Pokemon, Ash tries to use Training, and it evolves into Runerigus in the same way as to how it evolves into Cofagrigus in the normal form. After that, they leave the Neon Temple as they need to battle Lee for the Gym badge.
