Chapter 48 South Virima City
Ash and Lillie ride on Ash's Charizard as they finally get back to Virima City. As they get to the bridge, they see a woman standing in front of the fighting Tepig, Pignite, and Emboar
?: Not again... (Notices Ash and Lillie) Hi. Are you trying to get through here?
Lillie: Yeah, but what's going on here?
?: This happens a lot. Unfortunately, it's usually while I'm away. How about we take two each?
Ash and Lillie decide to help the woman as they fight the Tepig, Pignite, and Emboar. In the end, they are all defeated, and all of them fled except for Tepig, who is fond of Lillie.
?: Nice job! It seems like this Tepig wants to go with you!
Lillie: Really? Are you going to come with me?
Tepig nods at Lillie and she decides to capture the Pokemon.
Ash and Lillie's New Capture in Virima City: Tepig (Event)
Ash: So...
Raina: (Realizes that she hasn't introduced herself) My name is Raina, by the way. I'm the owner of Virima's Training Gym. I'll be there if you want to stop by!
After she leaves, Ash and Lillie just stare at the woman.
Ash: So she was the one that Jim mentioned...
Lillie: Yeah...but let's go to the gym soon, first, we have to check out the city.
After getting into South Virima City, they are in awe of the place, which is very similar to Virima City. They decide to train and capture some Pokemon in the area. Lillie uses the Pokemon to train as she evolves her Tepig into an Emboar in the end, and then she captures a Pikipek and evolves it into a Toucannon. Ash captures an Alolan Rattata and evolves it into an Alolan Raticate, and a Rookidee that evolves into a Corviknight, and a Chatot.
They also visit some houses as they find one of them has a man riding a bike inside.
Woman: My husband has trouble remembering things, but I remember almost everything. I remember seeing you on TV battling the bridge Pokemon with Raina. Thanks for that!
She then gives them a Sacred Ash, as they accept the item. And they go into a green roof house as they get another item.
Man: Instead of checking out books from the library, I just read them in one sitting while I'm there. I found this in a book one time. The librarian let me keep it, but I don't really have a use for it.
Then he gives them another Marble, which makes 20 of them. As they look around the area, they also capture a Trubbish in an abandoned house, they don't know why they are there, but they still capture it nonetheless. Ash also trains it to evolve into Garbodor in the end.

They also find a place called Hip Hop Ship Shop, which is full of Dhelmise as Ash captures one for the team. As they walk around, they get into the first room and they see some leftover Malassdas, and for the second room, let's say they are a little surprised.
?: Are you...the one?
The Hex Maniac suddenly tries to attack them, and Lillie just lets out a scream. Ash tries to protect her and he has Pikachu use Thunderbolt on the Ghost girl. The girl then turns into a Ditto.
Ash: Lillie, it is just a Ditto, you don't need to be afraid.
Lillie sighs in relief, and Ash captures the Ditto in the end.

Lillie: Why does it have to scare us like that?
Ash: I don't know. (Notices the items on the floor, there is a Marble, a Gengarite, and a Universal Fragment) And what is this? I don't think I have seen it before...
Lillie: I don't know, but we should keep it.
Once they get out of the store, they decide to visit Reina at her training gym, and they can see a lot of Tepig, Pignite, and Emboar with her.
Raina: Hey, Ash and Lillie! I decided to take in those Bridge Pokemon. This is my Training Gym. Trainers who are just starting out looking to get experience, or who need to get stronger to take on the gyms, can come here to practice against me. I have the largest collection of Pokemon of anyone in Ceolis. I can do almost any kind of battle a challenger wants: mock gym teams, weather teams, hyper-offense, stall, and so on. I've beaten all the gyms myself, so I know exactly how to prepare each challenger.
Lillie: That sounds cool.
Raina: I was actually almost Champion, but I messed up bad in the last Elite 4 battle...that was years ago though, and I'm happy just to have gotten as far as I did. (Notices Ash's 8 badges) I see you have quite a lot of badges. Most people who come to me are beginners like I said before. You don't seem like someone who needs my help, but you're also not near my strongest team's power.
Ash: To tell you the truth, I have also faced a lot of Pokemon and a lot of battles, I can say that you don't need to worry about sending your strongest team, I was once a World Monarch of the World Coronation Series.
Raina looks at Ash with surprise, and as she looks closely, she seems to recognize him.
Raina: Are you perhaps the Ash Ketchum that my cousin Scott told me about?
Ash: Wait, you know Scott?
Raina: Of course, now I think I have seen you somewhere, you are the first one to defeat the Battle Frontier in both Kanto and Sinnoh, is that right?
Ash nods, not knowing what this is for.
Raina: Sorry, I think I know what kind of person is you now, so I should use this team. It has complete type coverage. Starting with Chili.
Her first Pokemon is Emboar, and Ash goes for Blastoise to battle. With the Type Advantage, Blastoise uses Hydro Pump to deal a lot of damage to Emboar. Emboar is using Bulk Up and uses Hammer Arm, but much to Ash's surprise is that it uses Fling on Blastoise to get the Flame Orb on itself, causing Blastoise to get burned.
Ash: That is quite a tricky move...use Aqua Tail!
And with that move, Blastoise slams its water-covered tail to defeat Emboar.
Raina: My second Pokemon is going to be Blueberry.
The second Pokemon is a Metagross, and it uses Magnet Rise to rise above the ground and defeats Blastoise with Bullet Punch. Ash goes for Absol to battle this one, and it uses Thunder Wave to paralyze the Steel and Psychic Type Pokemon, and then it knocks out Metagross with a Night Slash.
The third Pokemon is Sylveon named Strawberry, and it defeats Absol with the Hyper Voice since its ability Pixilate causes the move to become a Fairy Type.
Lillie: Pixilate is such a strong ability...
Ash goes for Lucario to battle this one, but its Hidden Power is Fire and it deals a lot of damage to Lucario, in the end, a Metal Claw defeats the Pokemon with ease.
The fourth Pokemon is Mow form Rotom named Guava, so Ash decides to go for Infernape.
Ash: Because it is in Mow from, so I can use Fighting moves on it. Mach Punch.
Infernape goes for the attack and hits the Pokemon, but then Rotom uses Thunderbolt to give a lot of damage to Infernape, but after a series of attacks, it activates its Blaze ability, and then it knocks out Rotom with the Flamethrower.
The fifth Pokemon is Alolan Dugtrio named Pomegranate, and Ash sends out Talonflame to battle. Dugtrio's Sucker Punch gives Talonflame a lot of damage since it always goes first, but Talonflame uses Acrobatics to deal some damage and finishes it off with the Fire Blast.
The final Pokemon is Mysterious, her Ditto. Its Imposter ability causes it to transform into Talonflame, so Ash uses Lycanroc to deal with the Pokemon, with moves like Stone Edge and Accelrock, Lycanroc defeats the Ditto with ease.
Raina: You have such a colorful team! (Recalls Ditto) It's been a while since I've had a battle that fantastic! If you ever become a Champion of Ceolis, be sure to come back here! I'll use my full power.
Ash: Okay...
And when they are going to the final place, it is a mansion, much to their surprise.
Lillie: I never know there is a mansion here in this place...
Ash: Me neither...I wonder who lives in this place...
But as they knock on the door, the one who answers is no other than Ash's mother Delia.
Ash: Wait, Mom? Is that you?
Delia: Oh my, Ash. I just tried to call you about our new house. But it seems like you have come earlier.
Ash: Wait, this is our new home? I mean...why are you moving out of Kanto?
Delia: Well, it sure has been a while since I came here, why don't you come inside?
As they got inside the house, Lillie greets Delia since it is been a while. Then they decide to talk about things in the house and the other stuff.
Ash: So this house belongs to you and Dad when you guys come to Ceolis Region for the first time?
Delia: That's right. Back then, we had a lot of friends and we fought the Rogues. This place is our home once we step foot in this region, however, ever since my husband goes on a journey and I have been moving to Kanto, this place has been pretty empty. Thanks to Professor Oak and your Pokemon helping us out, we have cleaned the house.
Lillie: Wow... That giant ranch outside is where our Pokemon is, right?
Delia: (Smiles) Professor Oak decides to let me handle all your Pokemon, so you don't need to do the international transfer all the time. You can ask me and I'll transfer some for you. By the way, how is your Gym challenge doing?
Ash: I got 8 badges, usually I can just challenge the League, but here in Ceolis, I need 10 more badges. We decide to go to Norall City to get our ninth badge.
Delia: Norall City...it sure has been a while since I've gone there. There is a Research Institute and I did attend a lot of projects there. Not to mention, your aunt Pandora also lives there as well.
Ash: I have an aunt? (Confused.)
Delia: You probably know Pandora from fashion magazines, though she was adopted by my husband as his sister. It sure has been a while since I've seen her... If you do, please tell her that I say hi.
Ash: (Ash and Lillie nod) Of course we will, but it sure is getting late, how about we stay here for a night before going there tomorrow?
Lillie: Sounds like a good plan.
Then Ash and Lillie decide to spend the rest of the day in the house while playing with Pokemon, chatting with Delia about the current adventures, and other things like the gym leaders in Ceolis and how strong they are.
Here is a new chapter, South Virima City is a place that might be overlooked if you continue on the story. I go back because I want to get a Ditto and Tepig so that I can complete the game. I hope you like this chapter, and in the next chapter, Ash and Lillie are going to Norall City, which is going to be full of ice and snow.
