Chapter 55 Underwater Hotel
After taking the ship, they finally get to Inoset Island, as they can see how it is like a vacation spot with a giant beach and a lot of people relaxing.
Staff: Welcome to Inoset Island! It's customary to greet visitors here with one of these!
And she gives Lillie a Comfey, much to her surprise. Ash is also surprised as the staff just gives them a Pokemon like that.
Staff: Please enjoy your stay here and take good care of Comfey.
Lillie: For some reason...I feel that Fairy Type Pokemon in the region are easy to find...
Ash: I agree.
While walking on the beach, they are greeted by a fisherman.
Fisherman: My Fishing Rods are top class! Let me share one with you!
Just then, they obtained the Super Rod, much to their surprise. They thank the fisherman as they continue to stroll on the beach. They eventually find the worker and ask for the location of the Underwater Hotel.
Staff: I'm sorry, but the submarine hasn't returned from the hotel yet.
Ash: This is likely Team Portal's doing...I think we should go to the hotel ourselves.
Lillie: By diving, right?
Ash nods as they surf to the ocean and try to head underwater. Before they do that, they manage to capture a Barraskewda and a Bruxish by fishing in the water, and then they capture a Binacle, two Clamperl, and a Mareanie underwater and evolve them into Huntail, Gorebyss, Barbaracle, and Toxapex.

Once they continue to swim, they finally reach the entrance of the Underwater Hotel. They enter the hotel to find a Team Portal member standing in their way.
PA Jeslin: Welcome to the Underwater Hotel. Now get out.
Ash: As if.
Then she sends out a Seismitoad, and Ash goes for Torterra to battle. Torterra uses Frenzy Plant to defeat Seismitoad with ease. The next Pokemon is Wishiwashi, and Torterra manages to defeat it with the Leaf Storm, even though it has been hit by the Water Pulse because of the recharge of the Frenzy Plant. The final Pokemon is Greninja, which is not good for Torterra, but it is still defeated as Ash knows Greninja's movements with the help of his own Greninja.
PA Jeslin: Or keep going, like you always do. (Recalls Greninja)
Ash and Lillie continue to rush in the Underwater Hotel, and they find that nobody is there.
Ash: Don't tell me that Team Portal kidnapped all the guests in the hotel...
Lillie: This sure is horrible...
Then they find another grunt at the stairway, and he is stopping them from getting close.
PA Yoshi: All the guests locked their doors, and the people of Inoset are trying to stay out of our way. But there always has to be one...
He goes for Wailord, and Lillie decides to battle as she goes for Manectric. She has Manectric use Thunder Fang to knock out the Pokemon, and the second Pokemon, Emolga, is also defeated by an Ice Fang.
PA Yoshi: Don't get overconfident. There are still more of us!
They try to go to the elevator, only to find it offline. Ash and Lillie decide to take the stairs as they reach the second floor. As usual, there are some grunts who are stopping them.
PA Mason: It's a battle against time! We just need to hold you off long enough.
She goes for Tropius, while Ash goes for Glalie to battle. Glalie freezes Ash a little for fun before getting serious in the battle, and it defeats Tropius with Ice Beam. And the next Pokemon is Relicanth, Lillie uses her own Tropius to defeat it with Energy Ball.
PA Mason: I wasn't even a match!
They continue forward and they notice one of the doors isn't locked. They enter the place and they see something that shocks their minds.
Ash: This is the third Training Room...I wonder what Pokemon we can find here.
Lillie: But now it is not the time, we have to clear Team Portal out of the Underwater Hotel and stop what they are planning here.
As they continue walking through several rooms, they find another grunt.
PA Bernadette: I kind of feel bad the guests are scared. We're not even here for them.
The Agent goes for Camerupt, so Ash goes for Greninja to battle, with the Battle Bond, it swiftly defeats Camerupt with the Hydro Pump. Whiscash is next, and Greninja continues to battle, but Lillie doesn't want Ash to get hurt, so she has Decidueye to battle as well. Decidueye goes for Leaf Blade to defeat Whiscash in the end, but Greninja is injured from the Earthquake. And the final Pokemon for Bernadette is Ambipom, which is defeated by Greninja and Decidueye working together using Water Shuriken and Brave Bird at the same time.
PA Bernadette: I'm almost happy to see you win.
After leaving the grunt, Ash and Lillie find another door that is opened.
Ash: This is the dining room...though why is it opened?
Lillie: I don't know, maybe there are grunts here as well.
But as they enter the dining room, they find nobody but a pink-haired girl who is gobbling down the food from the buffet. The chefs are sweatdropping at how well the girl can eat, and Ash knows who the girl is.
Ash: Delicia? What are you doing here?
Delicia notices Ash and Lillie as she stands up from the seats.
Delicia: Macroni!
Just then, she sends out her Vanilluxe named Ice Cream, and Ash and Lillie groan a little.
Lillie: Gosh...I forgot that Delicia is also a member of Team Portal... Maybe because we have been hanging out together that we forgot about it...
Ash: But we have to defeat her if we want to stop whoever is further ahead.
Then Ash and Lillie nod as they send out Emboar, Ash's, to battle.
Ash: Emboar, use Arm Thrust!
Emboar pushes Vanilluxe as it takes damage, but Delicia has Vanilluxe use Ice Beam, and with the power-up from Never-Melt Ice, it gets a power boost. But in the end, Emboar uses Heat Crash to defeat it.
The second Pokemon is CottonCandy, the pink Ampharos, and it goes for Power Gem to knock out Emboar.
Lillie: Now it is my turn. (Sends out Donphan)
Lillie has Donphan use Rollout, which dodges a lot of Dragon Pulse from Ampharos, and in the end, Donphan uses Magnitude 8 to defeat Ampharos.
Delicia's third Pokemon is Swalot named Gumball, and Lillie continues to battle it by using Donphan, and it goes for Toxic to make Donphan poisoned. Even though Donphan doesn't have any health left, it still defeats Swalot with Take Down.
The fourth Pokemon is Appletun named ApplePie, which defeats Donphan with the Apple Acid. Ash goes for Froslass to battle, and it goes for Blizzard to knock it out.
Delicia: Lemonade!
Ash and Lillie are groaning as Delicia also gets herself a Guzzlord, and it goes for the Crunch to knock out Froslass.
Lillie: Of all the Pokemon, Delicia has to have a Guzzlord in her team!
She goes for Comfey, the same one that she got from the staff at the harbor. And it uses Disarming Voice to knock it out. The final Pokemon for Delicia is Lickilicky named PumpkinPie, which Ash and Lillie notice the Lickitung evolved. It uses Stomp to defeat Comfey, but faints with Lucario's Close Combat.
Delicia: And...(Recalls Lickilicky) Cheese!
Just then, she somehow charges through the blockade and breaks a path. Much to the Portal Agents' surprise. After the path is cleared, she just goes back to eating.
Lillie: (Trying to process what has happened) Is she helping us?
Ash: I don't know, but now we can get through there.
Before leaving the restaurant, they find the speaker again as this time it is under the table.
Mysterious Voice: I hope Team Portal doesn't find me under the table...
Ash and Lillie shrug as they enter the stairway to the third floor, there they see that a Portal Agent blocking their path.
PA Trixie: Going somewhere?
She goes for Victreebel and Mismagius to battle, but Ash and Lillie go for Gallade and Gardevoir, using Shadow Ball and Psychic, both of them are defeated in the end.
PA Trixie: Going Up...(Recalls both Pokemon) I'll heal your team and send you up to where Quinn is.
They decide to believe the Portal Agent, as she heals their Pokemon and brings them to the third floor, where Quinn is staying.
Quinn: Just when I got what I needed and thought I could lower my guard.
Ash: I guess you are the one in charge of the operation instead of Pandora, huh?
Quinn: (Surprised that both Ash and Lillie know their boss, but shakes it off as it is not important) I've been training since our last battle so that I wouldn't lose when it really matters. Bring it!
Xis first Pokemon is Airsports named Farfetch'd and Ludicolo named Luxury Elite, so Ash and Lillie go for Pikachu and Gardevoir to battle. Farfetch'd manage to use its Night Slash and Aerial Ace to deal a lot of damage, but Pikachu defeats it with Thunderbolt. Ludicolo manages to plant the Leech Seed on Pikachu, but Gardevoir knocks it out with Gunk Shot.
Quinn: Why you...telepath! Riverwave! You two are next!
Xe sends out Golduck and Swanna to battle, which is not very good as Pikachu can swiftly defeat them. Golduck manages to knock out Garbodor with Psychic, but Ash goes for Ditto and has it change into the form of Pikachu. Both Pokemon use Thunderbolt at Swanna to knock it out, but Golduck also uses Zen Headbutt to knock out Ditto.
Quinn's final Pokemon are Magmortar named RadMagma and Porygon-Z named Laserdisc. Ash and Lillie change into Cinderace and Greninja to battle. Magmortar is defeated by Greninja's Water Shuriken after Ash activates his Bond Phenomenon, and Porygon-Z is defeated by Cinderace's Pyro Ball, even though it uses Thunderbolt to make both Ash and Greninja in pain.
Quinn: (Stunned to see xyr Pokemon fainted) No! This is the absolute worst time to fail!
Ash and Lillie are confused, until they turn around to see a man standing behind them.
Quinn: Great, and now Triston's back...our most important mission yet, and I screwed everything up...
Triston: (Demands) What do you people think you're doing attacking my hotel?! If you damaged anything, you're paying for it. And if you stole anything, you're returning it. Understood?
Quinn: (Lowers xyr head) Understood...
Triston: So, did you do either of these things?
Quinn: I didn't break anything, but I did steal this...
Quinn takes out an oddly-shaped bottle, and Ash widens his eyes as he knows what kind of bottle it is. It is the Prison Bottle, the same bottle that holds the soul of the unbound Hoopa. But then he feels like it might be fake since he would have been possessed by the bottle if he holds it.
Triston: (Speechless) All this for a bottle? A bottle. I thought you'd be stealing Pokemon or going through data and legal documents. What you did is horrible, and I don't even know any words that could describe the level of frustration I feel that all this happened while I was away. But I can't even take you seriously anymore. I'm trying really hard not to just burst out laughing.
Ash: But that bottle...
Triston: You organized a full-scale raid for a bottle that I'd probably have given you if you just asked for it. If you'd do all this just for a bottle, then keep it. It's fancy, but it doesn't have any sentimental value to me.
Ash, Lillie, and even Quinn are surprised that Triston would give the bottle to xem.
Triston: But it's a one-time-only deal. If you ever do this again, even if it's just for a cookie crumb on the floor, I'm fining you for half your net worth and making you work here for a decade.
Quinn: (Face lights up) I understand. I'll leave immediately and you won't be attacked by us anymore.
Triston: Good.
After that, all the Team Portal members are leaving, and they can see that one of them is dragging Delicia away from the restaurant, which is somehow funny.
Triston: (Turns to Ash and Lillie) Thanks for dealing with those people while I was away. It took a lot of bravery to fight them on your own.
Lillie: So you are Triston of the Elite 4, right? And the owner of this Underwater Hotel?
Triston: (Laughs) Of course, I don't think you need to guess what type I specialize in. That's exactly why I was away. As of today, the Ceolis Region has a Champion again. I wonder which will get more time on the news..."Ceolis second Champion Crowned" or "Underwater Hotel raided over a bottle"? That bottle was given to me by a friend some time ago for decoration. Apparently, it was floating in the sea.
Ash: (Shocked) Wait, there is a new champion?
Triston: Anyway, I can't give you near the amount of praise you deserve for what you did. You can stay here anytime for free, but we will have to recover first. The sailors told me they wanted to stand guard to make sure there are no more of those people around. Once they've ensured no one's coming from either side, I'll tell everyone it's safe to unlock their doors and use the elevator. I'd also like to make sure they really didn't break anything.
Lillie: I understand, sir.
Triston: Until then, you can still use the Training Center to your heart's content, or talk to me at the front desk. (Ash and Lillie nod) I have to get this hotel back on track again. See you around!
After it is done, they decide to return to Tullborn City so they can start their training for the gym battle against Draga.
Somewhere, two figures are talking as their shadows are seen, they are actually the first Champion Ceolis, and The Guardian, the one who guarded the Data Vault.
Ceolis: There's a new champion? That's amazing! I've been wondering if my spot would be filled while I've been away. Is the new Champion someone I know?
Guardian: No, they weren't born yet the last time the public knew your whereabouts.
Ceolis: That makes me happy too! It means that new generations of trainers are still challenging the Ceolis League. Maybe we'll meet and/or battle someday!
Guardian: I have some other news, and it is related to your children. They are also trying to challenge the Ceolis League as well.
Ceolis: Is that so...it sure has been a while since I see them...I just hope that they can overcome what Ceolis has to offer.
Here is a new chapter, this operation is much like Mt. Pyre in Hoenn, Pokeball Factory in Kalos, or Silph Co. in Kanto. This is not their final battle, but it is also big. And we finally get to meet the Elite 4 member Triston, you probably know which type he specializes in. And in the next chapter, Ash and Lillie are not going to the gym yet, they have some work to do before going there.
