Chapter 28:
Heroes Rise and Heroes Fall
'Thinking'
"Talking"
"Talking"
- Pocket Dimension -
-Juuichi-
With a primal roar, the Guardian Oni's massively muscular form surges with red Touki as she slams her fist into the metal dragon's head, sending it flying back as it crashes into the ground. "IS THAT ALL YA GOT!" She roars, only to immediately have to dodge as a wave of swords shoots out of the ground beneath her feet.
Turning her attention away from the dragon made of swords, Juuichi scowls at the tiny blonde-haired girl that's keeping her distance and continuously launching waves of swords at her.
The damage the swords do to her body is negligible at best thanks to the Touki surrounding her body, but Juuichi knows that even though they only leave scratches, the buildup from getting too many of them can spell her death if she's not careful. And while death doesn't really mean anything for a Summon, it does mean that her Master's enemies will likely get away with attempting to attack him.
And that is something she cannot abide by.
To become a Guardian means that out of all the Summons her Master has, he chose her out of them all to stand apart from the rest. That she was given the honor of being his very first Guardian Oni, and therefore awarded the prestigious title of 'Ichi' in her name, is a gift she can never hope to repay him for.
But so long as she continues to exist, she will try.
"SISTER!" She calls out in warning, watching as the thinner Guardian Servant who she traded opponents with is almost blasted away by her former opponent's rocket-like Balance Breaker. "Che, these bastards have weird fuckin abilities…"
Seriously, though. One can shoot rockets out of their hands, while the other can somehow turn a bunch of swords into a living, breathing dragon?
That's utter bullshit in her opinion.
Raising a Touki-covered hand, she grabs the metal wrist of a silver humanoid arm mere moments before it could swing the sword it's holding down on her head.
"Don't think I haven't forgotten about ya, jackass." She smirks, using her far superior strength to lift the skinny grey-haired boy with six arms in the air before slamming him down on the ground.
Unfortunately, the boy's attack serves as a decent enough distraction for the blonde-haired girl to launch another wave of swords at her. This time managing to pierce her side and cause several small cuts to drip blood down her suit as she hisses in pain. "Fuck!"
Angry at having been caught off-guard, Juuichi raises her foot to slam it down on the grey-haired boy's head; only for the little bastard to use his extra four arms to spider-crawl his way out of her reach.
Despite the changing of opponents with her "sister" having worked out splendidly in evening the fights out a bit, it doesn't change the fact that they're still 2 against 3 - now 4 thanks to the little girl's sword/dragon thing - and the extra numbers are preventing her and Ichi from getting a solid killing blow in on any of their opponents.
Taking a moment to glance up at the rooftop of the pocket dimension's temple, she briefly catches a glimpse of the magician who sent their Master away somewhere and is now watching them fight, before having to focus back on her battle as the dragon comes lumbering towards her.
'Come on, Master… wherever you are, we need your help to win this fight.'
As a group, so long as their Master has been at their side, they've never lost a fight yet… and she isn't about to start losing one now.
-Sora Sakai-
Pulling out Gae Daerg, I twirl the crimson demonic spear in my off hand as I lift my free one in order to feel around for where Georg's pocket dimension lies hidden.
Pocket dimensions, no matter how small, require at least some form of physical connection with the outer dimension plane or else you run the risk of it drifting off into a completely different location entirely.
And while the Hero Faction might not be the smartest people around - given that they're working with a bunch of psychopathic terrorists hellbent on reviving Trihexa - the Dimension Lost wielder Georg seems to be at least smart enough to know that leaving the pocket dimension untethered to Kyoto can potentially cause them to wind up exiting the dimension into somewhere like the Underworld or one of the Pantheon's domains.
There it is!
On your left!
Following Gaia's direction, I feel out with my hand as my fingers brush against an invisible barrier. 'Gotcha!'
Taking a few steps back in order to get a running start, I activate [Oni: Touki] at the same time as I use my newly given power [Monk: Ki Rush]. The golden sheen of Touki covering my body gets mixed in with the thicker, more heavily glowing aura of Ki Rush as I feel the power coursing through my body.
I'm not taking any chances this time around.
Dealing with the Heroes was already a pain in the ass to begin with, and now that I have to worry about the Fallen and Kokabiel attacking Kuoh, I want to get this mess over with as soon as possible before returning home.
I don't know how much longer Rias and the others can hold them off for, but based on the sheer numbers that Kokabiel is throwing at them, I doubt it'll be for much longer.
Lifting Gae Daerg up to that the tip is pointing straight at the invisible barrier, my leg muscles tense up as the power within my reaches a crescendo. A beat later, I blitz straight towards the barrier so fast that the power behind my run causes a small explosion of pressure that sends the temple's roof tiles flying everywhere; creating a small bit of panicked screaming from the unaware tourists down below.
Whoops.
Ignoring the bit of panic I unintentionally cause, I thrust the tip of Gae Daerg at the barrier, watching as it's glowing crimson tip pierces through it easily and creates a small entry point for me to slip through.
Quickly appearing back on the rooftop of the pocket dimension's temple, I smirk at the look of shock on Georg's face as he notices me bypass his Sacred Gear with ease.
'That's right asshole; Round 2.'
… …
-Ichi-
Feeling the presence of her Master return, Ichi's face breaks out into a soft smile as she attacks her opponent with renewed vigor. The sight of him alone giving her the strength necessary to finally start pushing back against her opponent as the much-larger man tries to hit her with another explosive rocket.
Unfortunately for him, Excalibur Blessing - despite being nothing more than a fragment of a once legendary blade - is still strong enough to tank the blow as the increased strength it gives her prevents her from suffering any real damage in the explosion.
Using the small bit of smoke that comes from the explosion as cover, Ichi bursts out of it in a straight dash towards her opponent. Causing Heracles to reel back in shock as he attempts to get some distance between them.
A flaw that her much keener eyes picked up that she doubted her 'sister' Juuichi had.
Despite his Sacred Gear's Balance Breaker offering a more powerful version of the explosions he could naturally produce with his hands; the Balance Breaker's rocket form has a flaw in it that requires several moments to pass after each shot before he can use it again.
It isn't much of an opening, merely a few seconds at best, but she has been slowly creeping ever closer to him since she discovered it, and now Ichi is close enough to reach him with a scant few milliseconds before he can activate his Balance Breaker once again.
Excalibur Blessing swinging in a diagonal arc towards his exposed neck as Heracles's eyes widen in shock and horror as he tries to activate his rockets unsuccessfully.
… …
-Juuichi-
Having felt her Master's presence return at the same time as her sister did, Juuichi's feral grin turns even more bloodthirsty as she grabs the dragon construct by the throat and uses its massive body like a shield to block the oncoming wave of swords as she quickly approaches the panicking blonde girl.
With a grunt of effort, her Touki-enhanced strength allows her to throw the massive creature straight at Jeanne, causing her to scream as she tries to undo her Balance Breaker… only to do so too slowly as her body is crushed beneath its heavy metal body.
"Che, not so tough now. Are ya, girlie?" She mocks despite her heaving chest and heavy panting, lifting one hand to wipe the sweat that's dripping down her forehead as she turns to face the grey-haired boy.
The look of uncertainty on his face is a wonderful change from the mocking smile he's worn until now. And as she cracks her knuckles while advancing on the much smaller Siegfried, Juuichi is looking forward to finally turning the tables on the slippery little bastard that's escaped her wrath until now.
"Hold still for me, won't ya?" She sneers with a mocking smile, intentionally mimicking the one Siegfried had earlier as her body flares bright red with Touki. "This'll only hurt fer a second."
-Sora Sakai-
Continuing to channel [Monk: Ki Rush] through my body as I step through into the pocket dimension, I waste little in taking in my surroundings before I race straight towards the surprised Georg. Grinning as his hands come up like they'd done before while a wave of purple mist begins to seep out from his palms. "BALANC-…"
Not this time.
With my enhanced speed and a spear that can pierce through any sort of magical energy or protection, I quickly come to a sudden stop mid-sprint as I plant my feet, destroying a massive amount of roof tiles in the process while I shift my momentum into throwing Gae Daerg at him.
Just like the invisible barrier, the glowing crimson demonic spear carves through the purple mist easily before plowing straight through the magician's heart. Causing a burst of blood to shoot out of his back as the tip exits his back, severing his spine cleanly and destroying his body's major organ in one fell swoop.
You won!
I did. Barely, and only because I was able to take him by surprise with a broken OP spear… but it's a win all the same.
"Finally," I sigh with relief. Stepping over to Georg's body, I pull the spear out of his chest without fanfare and give it a quick spin, flicking off the blood before I store it back in my Inventory. "Now to see how the others are doing."
"No need, Master. We've already finished." Ichi's voice calls out from behind me, causing me to turn around as I watch her and Juuichi land on top of the temple's roof in short order.
Looking over their injuries, it's a relief to see that despite a couple of smaller cuts and bruising, neither of them are that badly wounded. And after a quick application of [Miko: Healing] the two look right as rain as they smile gratefully back at me.
With Georg now dead, the purple pocket dimension is slowly crumbling down around us as I prepare to teleport us back to Kuoh, only to pause as I catch a glimpse of the pile of swords Juuichi has on the ground next to her. "Umm… Juuichi, what are those?"
"Oh, these?" She grins, reaching down to pick up one of the swords as she jabs a thumb over her shoulder. "Figured you could make better use of these things, than that little prick over there."
Following the direction to where she's pointing, I feel a metaphorical sweatdrop grow on the back of my head as I notice Siegfried's broken body lying in a crater down below. The metal arms of his Sacred Gear look to have been torn off as they lie next to him in multiple pieces.
Raising a single eyebrow, I give the Guardian Oni a stare to which she responds by shrugging unconcernedly. "What?"
"Nothing…" I reply with a shake of my head. Sometimes it's better to just not think about these things.
I care for my Summons, I truly do… but even I don't fully understand what goes through their heads sometimes.
Focusing my attention on the pile of swords lying on the ground, I cast [Observe] as I read through the descriptions for each legendary sword that Siegfried has been stockpiling until now.

[Balmung] (Legendary) - (Item)
"Demon Sword of Wind"

increased damage to Angels and Fallen.
…
[Light Sword] (Common) - (Item)
"An exorcist's blade that is made of condensed Light."
Increased damage to Devils and Undead.
Each and every single one of these is incredibly useful in their own right - except for the Light Sword; and their status as Legendary items means that they're entirely unique and one-of-a-kind items that I wouldn't have been able to get anywhere else in the world, unless I got lucky with a Dungeon Chest.
And the best one of all, is the black and gold blade currently being held lazily in Juuichi's grip.
[Gram] (Legendary) - (Item)
"Demonic Emperor Sword"
Increased damage to Dragons.
Massively increased damage to Angels and Fallen.
It's like getting back-to-back Chests with each one having and increasingly greater reward than the last. And it's all thanks to Siegfried's obsession with collecting as many power swords as he could get his hands on.
'And now they're all mine.' I smile, throwing all of them into my Inventory with glee before I pull the smirking Juuichi into a heated tongue-filled kiss. My hands immediately clamp down on her massive ass as I pull her flush against me, feeling her breasts squish against my chest as she begins humping her groin against mine.
Is this really the best time to be doing this? Probably not.
But it's important to rewards my girls for their hard work and efforts. And as I pull back from the kiss, enjoying the sound of Juuichi's groan and her whisper of 'tease', I turn to the slightly flushed Ichi and do the same with her.
"M-Master!" She gasps into the kiss, feeling my hands slide into the back of her suit pants and grab handfuls of her perky little ass.
"What?" I grin, feeling no small amount of joy in seeing my normally calm and collected second-in-command blush prettily. "I'm just saying thank you, is all."
"HAH!" Juuichi barks out a laugh, her fanged mouth twisted in a smirk as she watches her sister squirm under my groping. "If ya really wanna thank us, you should get those pants off!"
"S-Sister!" Ichi replies with a yelp, her voice slightly hitching as I remove my hands from underneath her thong and pants in order to lightly spank her. The slight pain and pleasure from the act surprisingly causing her legs to tremble as her hands wrap around my shoulders for support.
"Now is not the time for this!" She pants out, her black pupils heavily dilated in arousal as she tries not to draw attention to the way she's pressing her perky breasts against my chest.
Unfortunately, she's right. And as I reluctantly pull away from her with a sigh, our good mood evaporates as the last of the purple pocket dimension disappears, causing the world to unfreeze as the sounds of tourists going by fills the silence.
Realizing that time is now against me, I get ready to teleport us away when the sound of a male's voice intrudes on our conversation.
"So… Georg has failed."
Who the fuck…? [Observe]
Cao Cao
Level 375 - The Strongest Human
Human - Sacred Gear User (True Longinus)
Affection: 0 | Obedience: 0
Oh, come on! Seriously?!
-Cao Cao-
Staring at the deceased bodies of his former subordinates, Cao Cao ignores the others in favor of looking at the vacant eyes of his once second-in-command, Georg. 'Unfortunate… for you to dies as you have, old friend.' He offers a small nod of respect to his fellow's passing, before focusing his attention on the ones responsible for it.
While he doesn't care for the other Sacred Gear wielders' deaths - they are entirely expendable, in his opinion - the loss of Georg and his Dimension Lost is a massive blow to his faction's strength.
Georg's skill with creating pocket dimensions, as well as his talents with magics, have been one of the most useful abilities that Cao Cao has come to rely on in his plans to bring about an end to the supernatural world. The fact that his comrade failed to even do any lasting damage to the target makes the wielder of the True Longinus wonder if perhaps he put too much faith in Georg's abilities.
No matter. Despite the loses they've suffered today; the Hero Faction has accomplished what they'd set out to do… even if it was pointless now without Georg's magic.
"Fox…" He speaks to the blonde-haired Kyūbi at his side, her vacant golden eyes staring straight ahead as the magic compulsions he put on her ensure her obedience. "Kill them all. And when you're done, destroy Kyoto."
The original plan had been to capture the Yōkai Faction's leader and use her as a power source to fuel their ritual spell… but without Georg to actually cast it, that plan was no longer viable.
Nonetheless, Cao Cao refuses to let this moment go to waste.
Even if he cannot enact the spell, the fact that he's proven to the supernatural world that no one is safe from them - not even the leader of an entire Faction - then word of the Hero Faction's power will spread. And soon more and more humans with Sacred Gears will flock to his side.
And if he can cause the destruction of an entire town filled with Yōkai and Yōkai-sympathizers? All the better.
Seeing the buxom Kyūbi nod robotically as her hands light up with Senjutsu, the descendant of the original Cao Cao turns away from the sight and motions for the short white-haired boy next to him to follow. "Come, Leonardo. Leave them to their deaths… we have more important things to do."
It wouldn't do, after all, for the target to get a clear shot at his companion.
Georg might be a tolerable loss, but Leonardo?
No; the boy is too important for Cao Cao's plans to let that happen.
-Sora Sakai-
There was a brief moment, when my eyes connected with Cao Cao's, that I thought I was going to die right then and there.
The wielder of the True Longinus was so far beyond my level, that I knew even without engaging him in battle, that he would kill me easily if we fought. What I know of his Sacred Gear's powers thanks to the anime have made me very aware of just how bullshit his strength is, to the point that he was even able to fight Azazel at full strength while the Governor-General was backed by the power of a Dragon King.
I'm strong… easily strong enough to take on most Ultimate-Class Devils, and maybe even some of the Satan-Class Devils.
But Cao Cao? His strength puts him in the leagues of the Super-Class Devils.
Well beyond anything I can fight at this time.
Thankfully, my luck seems to have held out as I watch him turn and walk away from battlefield/temple. Leaving behind the obviously mind-controlled Yasaka to do the actual fighting while he and the small white-haired boy - who I think is the Annihilation Maker's wielder - disappear through a teleportation circle.
Yasaka
Level 271 - Leader of the Yōkai
Yōkai - Kyūbi
Affection: 0 | Obedience: 0
I've always wanted to meet Yasaka. Even since I first watched the Highschool DxD anime I was in love - lust - with the bit-tittied foxy Milf and her outrageously curvy body that somehow manages to put the other unnaturally curvy girls in DxD to shame. In fact, I'm pretty sure that the one other woman who comes close to having a body like Yasaka's is Venelana.
So, maybe it's a Milf thing?
Either way, said gorgeous foxy-mama is currently not in her right mind, and that's a serious issue because she's about to attack us with her hand lighting up in Senjutsu flames. And with her being 70 levels above me, I know this is a fight I can't win.
"L-Lady Yasaka!" Akari gasps out behind me.
Blinking, I glance back at her for a moment in shock while she watches the approaching Kyūbi, completely ignoring the rest of us.
Honestly… I forgot she was here.
She's been hiding off in the corner ever since the Heroes arrived, and with her presence being such a non-issue until now everyone's all but forgotten that the cute kitsune has been watching everything happen this whole time.
"Master…" Juuichi sighs, her body lighting up with Touki as she prepares for the oncoming fight. "Ya got any ideas on how to handle this one?"
Maybe, try using the dagger?
Gaia offers up her opinion just moments before we're forced to dodge out of the way of a massive ball of fire. The heat of the Kyūbi's Senjutsu flames is powerful enough to be felt even through the layer of Touki I've got wrapped around me, and even moving far enough away from it I can still feel the heat on my skin.
Taking Rule Breaker out of my inventory, I twirl the strangely-shaped dagger in my grip as I realize that the Admin had not only known this was coming, but had given me a way to deal with the situation quite easily. 'Not able to interfere my ass… if this is within his limited capabilities, I wonder what isn't?'
Despite the biting tone in my thoughts, I don't actually mean any of it. I'm actually extremely grateful for all of his help.
I don't know if I would be willing to go through all of the effort he's offering to do if I were in his shoes… but then again, I also don't have the power to fuck around with entire Universes like he can.
Nonetheless, I'm grateful for the simple solution to my current problems as I activate [Monk: Ki Rush]. The golden energy solidifying around my body as I dash towards Yasaka, only to have to veer off at the last second as one of her nine tails comes crashing down on the spot I barely moved from.
Scowling as I try again only to be blocked by the much faster limbs, I try again with Ichi and Juuichi's help… only to be met with the same failure as she uses all nine of her tails to keep us at bay while lobbing Senjutsu fireballs at us.
With each failure, I get more and more annoyed at the lack of success as I switch to using more of my more combat-style powers to try and get through her defenses.
Mixing together [Monk: Ki Flurry] and [Monk: Ki Rush], my body becomes a whirlwind of movement as I try to get even a single strike through her defenses. With the golden energy flowing around me, I look more like a blur of gold than an actual person as I stab repeatedly at her chest, only for an unnaturally dense tail to block it each time as her clouded eyes stare at me indifferently.
Eventually, I manage to finally slip past her guard of tails by using my newly acquired Dainsleif to freeze her tails in place by coating them in a layer of ice.
The ice doesn't actually hold them down for longer than a second, but that's all the time I need to reach her as I plunge Rule Breaker straight into her chest. Accidentally getting a face-full of her cleavage as my dive sends us tumbling backwards onto the temple's tiled roof.
The moment that Rule Breaker pierces straight into her chest, a brilliant light shines from where it connects with her skin as waves of magic seem to pour of her, slowly causing her cloudy eyes to regain their focus as she takes a gasp.
"W-What?" Pouty, full lips ask breathlessly as she takes several breathes of fresh air; as if having just woken up from a horrible dream.
As it happens, my face unintentionally breaks out into a grin as the heavy breathing causes her massive breasts to shake and jiggle, squishing me further into her cleavage as she slowly rises up into a sitting position.
Reluctantly, before she can misconstrue what I'm doing, I pull myself back from the heavenly pillows and quickly store Rule Breaker in my Inventory as my eyes catch her clearly confused ones taking everything in before locking onto my own eyes. "Who…Who are you?"
First Impression:
+8 Affection and Obedience with Yasaka… Affection: 8 | Obedience: 8
"Ah, I'm-" "LADY YASAKA!"
Before I can get my name out, Akari practically manhandles me out of the way as she immediately begins fussing over Yasaka.
"A-Akari?" Yasaka asks confused, but with an amused expression on her face as the smaller blonde frets over her leader. "What's going on here?"
"KAA-SAN!"
Groaning quietly to myself at the sound of another interruption, everyone present turns to look at a small blonde girl racing at the head of a squad of Tengu as her golden eyes fix pointedly at the woman who looks like an older version of her.
Kunou
Level 30 - Daughter of Yasaka
Yōkai - Kyūbi
Affection: 0 | Obedience: 0
Seeing that things are going to become even more complication, I send a quick message with my phone to Ni as I prepare to deal with the shitstorm here. 'I don't have time for this… Kuoh is still in danger, and with the world no longer frozen every second matters.'
Fuck it, if the Kokabiel's Fallen are going to start a war and reveal the supernatural world's existence, then there's no reason for my Summons to stay hidden any longer. With Ni in charge, they can give me enough time to get everything sorted out here before I make my way back to Kuoh.
'If Kokabiel wants a war, I'll give him a fucking war.'
- Kuoh, Japan -
On the edges of the forests surrounding Kuoh, dozens of shadows move swiftly towards the edge of the destroyed nearest one of the main roads. The briefest glints of white, red, and black masks can be seen under the thin rays of moonlight that shine down through the treetops.
Before their Master left, his orders were simple: Protect the compound, and keep watch over Kuoh.
So, they did exactly that.
They watched the town from the confines of the compound as the Fallen began their all-out assault on the city. Watched as the sounds of explosions echoed across the night's sky as the ground shook beneath their feet. Watched, as the screams of the innocent were silenced one by one by the invading force.
And still they continued to watch.
Because that was their Master's order, and they obey his orders without question and to the letter.
After all, they have no attachment to the town. No semblance of interest in what becomes of it, or its inhabitants. Their sole purpose is to cater to their Master's every whim; so why would they care if one group of strangers attacks another group? So long as their Master's will is done, that's all that matters.
But then their Master sent them new orders: Protect the town, and defeat the attacking Fallen.
And protect it they shall.
Streaming out from the tree-line, 99 Servants, 19, Oni, 20 Komainu, 7 Shinshoku, and 7 Miko race out of the shadows. Their black clothing making them almost impossible to see as they use the shadows as cover to traverse the destroyed town towards the Fallen in the distance.
At the forefront of the Summon army, the Guardians lead the charge with their small golden-accented clothing briefly glinting from the light coming off the many fires now burning throughout the city.
Up ahead, the sounds of battle can be heard as the Devils try their best to hold back the tide of Fallen that are slowly overwhelming them.
…But not for much longer.
... ...
-Ni-
Leading the vanguard of the Summons, Ni glances one last time at the messages sent by his Master.
"We have our orders." He calls out to the massive group of Summons following him. "Master has ordered us to protect Kuoh, and ensure that the Devils and Church members survive the Fallen's incursion no matter what. All of you are free to use any and all means necessary to protect them, even if your abilities are spotted by fleeing humans."
Receiving a round of nods from the others, the other Summons obey his words without question or comment, even the other Guardians.
Why? Because he is the Elder Brother. The Second Guardian chosen by their Master, and the first one to ever be summoned by him in the early days of their Master's exploits.
It was Ni who first fought and bled at their Master's side, and his words are second only to their Elder Sister's - and the favorite of their Master - in terms of hierarchy. So, if their Master commands him to lead them into battle, then the others will follow and obey.
"Our Master is counting on us…" Ni adds, drawing one of the enchanted swords that his Master has kept stockpiled in the compound for an event like this.
While it isn't as good as the blades his Master can make with his Sacred Gear, it will be enough to handle the Fallen's Light weapons.
"…and we will not fail him."
- END -
Author Notes:
And that's Chapter 28!
One battle ends, and now a war begins!
As you're all likely aware by now, these will probably be the very last fight scenes in this story before I have Sora jump to another Universe. After this, there's just going to be a lot of talking and lemons… lots of lemons.
Because how else am I going to come up with a better way to end this story than by tossing in some sexy times?
After all, there's a few characters we haven't gotten to see Sora get with yet… and that's just a crime.
Hope you all are still liking it so far! Thanks for checking out my story.
