10 years later,
"I can not believe your parents are taking us on your beach trip for the summer!"
Danny smiles as he looks at his best friends. Sam Manson was a goth, but she was the happiest goth you met. His other best friend, Tucker Foley was typing away on his PDA before smiling.
"Tell me about it! Think of all the girls I can see!" He said, making both of his friends roll their eyes.
"Just don't go peeking into the changing room like you did at Floodly Waters," Sam said.
"I told you, I had to use the bathroom and went through the wrong door!" Tucker said, frowning.
Danny looks out the window, thinking back to the mermaid he met 10 years ago. He has never forgotten her. However, no one believes him when he told them the story. However, he kept it in his mind, knowing it was true. Each summer when he returns here, he would sometimes look out into the sea, hoping to see her again.
"There is another reason I wanted to come," Tucker spoke up, breaking him from his thoughts.
"It was a rumor ten years ago that two men capture a real-life mermaid. When they left to get something to hold it, it somehow escape. People thought of it as a hox." He said.
"Let me guess, you're hoping to catch one too?" Sam asked, thinking this was another one of his plans to strike it rich.
Well, if she's cute, then I won't." Tucker said, smiling.
Danny rolled his eyes. That was Tucker for ya.
"Hey, Danny? You were here ten years ago, right? Did you see any mermaids?" Tucker asked.
"Guys, I told you that story. You didn't believe me, remember?" Danny told them.
"Well, since this rumor was ten years old, I thought it might have something to do with that story you told us," Tucker said, sheepishly.
"Look, Danny, it's not that we don't believe you. We just have a hard time believing you. I mean, Mermaids were nothing but a fairy tale, right?" Sam added.
Danny sighs and faced away from them.
"Nice going, Sam," Tucker said.
"Me?! You're the one that brought it up!" Sam told him.
Danny only sighs to himself seeing the beach coming into view. This was it, would he finally see Giga again? Or will it be another year of no sign of her? If it was, then he'll move on. No point in chasing something if it doesn't show up again.
The Beach,
Danny stood near the water, looking out towards the sea. He was partly looking for Giga, partly enjoying the scene.
"Danny? Do you have your sunscreen on?" Maddie called out.
"Yes, Mom! I'm not little anymore!" Danny called back.
"Okay, don't go too far out into the sea. I heard that sharks have been spotted." Maddie said.
Danny nods. He turns to see Tucker pushing a boat into the water.
"How do you plan on capturing a mermaid with that thing?" Sam asked.
"I know it's not much, but it's big enough to hold four people," Tucker said.
Danny shook his head.
"Well, remember we can't go too far. This boat won't protect us from the sharks. And Sam, those spears are to be used to defend ourselves." Danny said.
"I know," Sam said, knowing that sharks do attack people.
"Well, how far can we go?" Tucker asked.
"Well, there is one place I've been wanting to check on," Danny said, glad he remember to bring goggles.
A bit later,
Tucker panted as he rows the boat towards the spot Danny pointed out.
"This not how I wanted to spend my first day of summer," Tucker said when they stop.
"Well, look on the bright side. At least you'll get buff." Sam smirks.
Tucker glares at her before they notice Danny putting on the goggles.
"Danny?" Sam asked, catching another pair.
"Come on, guys. You're going to love this." Danny said, smiling.
His friends shrug and put on the goggles. Soon all three dived into the water and Tucker and Sam almost gasp underwater. Danny swam around the coral reef, seeing that was still in good shape. He spotted a clown fish swimming toward him and stared at him. Since he couldn't make the same face like before, he wave at the fish, causing it to swim away.
He leads his friends around the coral reef before they surface for air.
"Danny! How did you know this was here?!" Sam asked, shocked.
"Giga showed me," Danny said, smiling.
"Giga?" Tucker asked.
Danny sighs before they heard someone else.
"Well, what do we have here?"
All three turn, and saw Dash Baxter on a speed boat.
"What are you doing here, Dash?" Danny asked his high school bully.
"Enjoying my summer! And it just got better!" Dash said, smirking.
Danny rolled his eyes.
"Well, we're doing the same. Now if you don't mind..." Danny said, getting to dive underwater again.
"Hold it, Fenton!" Dash said, trying to grab Danny.
Danny notices and swam away from Dash, causing him to fall into the water. Dash surface and quickly climb back on his speed boat.
"Aww, is poor Dash scared of some water?" Danny joked.
"You'll pay for that, Fenton!" Dash growls.
He then speeds away from the three, leaving them alone. Danny rolled his eyes before facing his friends.
"So, ready to see more?" He asked them.
"Sure!" Sam said, already loving the place.
"Why not? I'm still hoping for some mermaids." Tucker said.
Danny rolled his eyes before all three dived underwater. However, someone else saw them. Someone that was surprised to see Danny.
"He's here? Danny..."
Later,
All three teens return to their boat after seeing more of the coral reef.
"Whew! That was a lot of swimming." Tucker said, taking off his goggles.
"Tell me about it. And that coral reef was a sight to behold! I don't know how you know about it, but this will stay between us!" Sam said, glaring at Tucker.
"Hey, my lips are sealed," Tucker said.
Danny shook his head. He was glad they could see the reef and was happy they enjoy their time. However, it was time to head back.
"Let go, guys. It's almost lunchtime." He said.
They nodded and Tucker started to row them back to shore. However, just as he got out of the coral reef, a fin cut through the water.
"Um, guys?" Tucker said, trying not to panic.
"We saw it too," Danny said, looking around.
"Just keep calm and row us toward shore. They can't follow us into shallow water." Sam said.
Tucker gulps and kept rowing. However, more fins started to cut through the water. Danny looks around before noticing something.
"Tucker, you're going the wrong way!" He shouted.
Tucker stops and smiles sheepishly.
"Whoops!" He said.
Seeing the fins circle around them, they knew they were trapped.
"There must be a feeding frenzy underwater." Sam guess.
However, one fin hit the boat, causing it to rock. Luckily, all three were able to hold stay in.
"We need to get out of here!" Danny said.
However, they had nowhere to go. They felt something hit the boat and almost tip it over. Danny almost fell out of the boat, but Tucker grab him.
"I got ya!" He said, pulling him back.
"Thanks, Tuck." Danny sighs.
The boat was hit again and the three started to get worried.
"Okay, I don't think this is a feeding frenzy," Sam said.
Another hit and the boat was fully flipped, knocking all three into the water. Danny saw the sharks swimming around and notices his friends close to him. However, they were stuck. They had nothing to defend themselves with and there was no way out. Suddenly, one of the sharks shoots toward them, causing the three to shut their eyes. But they didn't feel any teeth. Taking a peek, they saw a giant hand grabbing the shark's tail and pulled it away. Then they felt an arm wrap around all three of them before holding them close. Danny looks up and saw the face of their rescuer.
'Giga?!' He asked in thought.
Giga has been following them since she spotted Danny. She could tell he grew over the years and so as she. She growls at the sharks, warning them to stay away. Another tries to shoot towards her, only to feel a fist knocking it away. Giga growls again, daring another to attack her.
However, the sharks knew they were outmatched and swam away. Giga sighs before looking at the three. She saw their boat and grabs it. She surfaces and held the three teens in her hands.
"Giga? Is that you?" Danny asked, now that he could breathe.
"Yes, Danny. It's good to see you." She said, smiling.
Danny smiles and was surprised at how big she had gotten. Before she was around the size of a teenager, now she looks as big as a skyscraper!
"I think I'm going to need a bigger net." Tucker gasps.
Giga leads closer to Danny, her smile never fading.
"Giga, wow! The last time I saw you, you weren't any bigger than the biggest teen I knew!" Danny said.
"Yes. Even after I left, my growth spurt didn't stop. I kept growing until you see the size I am now. I can't even fit inside the palace anymore." She said, sadly.
Danny felt bad for her, but he was happy to see her again.
"It's been ten years, where have you been?" He asked.
"Forgive me, I wasn't sure that you would remember me after I return you to your family. But each summer I would return to see how you were doing. I notices that you were looking over the sea a few times and I wanted to see you, but I guess my fear kept me away." Giga said.
"I never forgot you. I was looking out to sea to see if I can find you. I miss you." Danny said.
Giga blinks before smiling. She carefully leans close and softly rubs her cheek on Danny's.
"AHEM!"
Danny turns and notices his friends looking a bit annoyed(Sam) and shocked(Tucker).
"Right, Giga these are my friends. Tucker Foley and Sam Manson." Danny said before turning to his friends.
"Guys, this is Giga. The mermaid I tried to tell you about." Danny added.
"You told them about me?" Giga asked.
"I tried to, but they thought I was making up," Danny said, sighing.
"But she can't be a mermaid! She's too big!" Tucker said.
However, Giga looked back at Danny, noticing he still had the raven black hair and those calm blue eyes. She also notices how handsome he had become. She never told her people that a human helped her escape from her captors. She told them that she was able to find a sharp rock and cut herself free from the net.
"So, Giga, right?" Sam asked, seeing her nod.
"You are a mermaid, right?" She asked.
"I am." Giga nods.
Sam then turns to Danny, shaking her head.
"Wow! I take back all the things I said about your story." Sam said.
"Well, I wasn't expecting to see her again. I almost gave up hope I would." Danny said, looking down.
Giga frowns. She didn't know that she was forcing Danny to forget about her by staying away. Maybe she really was scared.
"HOLD ON!" Tucker shouted, finally snapping out his shock.
"You know this mermaid?" He asked.
Danny rolled his eyes and sighed.
"Yes. I'm the one that freed her ten years ago. And she's the one that showed me the coral reef." Danny said, seeing Tucker getting up.
"Dude! Do you have any idea what you see here!" Tucker said.
Quickly catching what he was saying, Danny glares at his friend.
"Absolutely not!" He shouted, shocking him.
"I'm not going to turn around and become those men that caught her ten years ago. And I'm not going to let her take part in your little scheme!" Danny added before he could speak up.
Giga was confused, but Danny faces her.
"I save her ten years ago because I didn't like what those guys were saying. And I'm not about to let anyone else use her." He said, smiling.
Giga smiles back before noticing that the sharks were starting to come back.
"I better get you to shore." She said, partly diving into the water, just keeping her face and hand out of the water.
She swam back to the shore, thinking about when she first met Danny. She hasn't told anyone but even since he recuses her, she started to fall for the boy. She didn't understand the feeling until the fifth year after he save her. However, she knew that her people would never let her near a human. Luckily, thanks to her large size, stopping her wasn't much of a problem. But there was another problem. Their species. Danny was human and she was a mermaid. They live in different worlds. In different lives. Plus, her size would make it hard for her to even be close to Danny without hurting him.
"Giga? Are you okay?"
She blinks and looks at Danny, who looked a bit worried about her.
"I'm fine. Just make sure your friends don't tell anyone about me. Even the boy you're with." She said.
"Trust me, me and Sam have ways to keep him from saying anything." He said, smiling.
Giga smiles back and kept swimming back to shore.
Unknown place,
"Well, well well, what do we have here?"
A being looked into her crystal ball and saw the Giga Mermaid holding three humans. She also noticed how Giga was looking at one of the humans and notices the look on her face.
"Ah! It seems the next queen found a love! And not just any love, a human!" She laughs.
The crystal ball zooms closer on Danny and the being smirks.
'My my, I can see why. He quite handsome for a human." She added, licking her lips.
She then had her crystal ball stop glowing as she sat on her throne. Here she was, trying to get back at the mermaids, and yet, their next ruler has fallen for a human!
"Oh, this will be good. I'll finally get back at the mermaids for this prison and wipe out the humans in one swoop!" She laughs.
But first, she needed a plan that would work in her favor. She knew that the Mermaid Queen was concerned about her size and wanted to be normal size like the other mermaids.
"Don't worry, my Giga Mermaid. The Queen of the Sirens will help you." She laughs.
And another chapter. So Danny and Giga had remet, and Tucker and Sam now know about her. However, it looks as if someone else has noticed Giga's feelings for Danny, and wishes to use them for her own plans. By the way, the Siren Queen is the Empress Queen from Shantae and the Seven Sirens.
So, what next? Unsure, but I do have a plan that will help Giga change her size and well as her looks to help her with Danny. And just to warn anyone that reading this, this might have lemons. And it's not a harem. The Siren Queen wants to use Danny, she doesn't have any feelings toward him.
