Phantom Fan 21: Well, it seems the people have spoken. Devilsummoner666 and SargentEpsilon said that adding the song wouldn't make a difference. I take it as no unless they mean they don't mind. Sometimes you guys need to be a little clearer. But even if they no, they were outvoted. Three people said yes. I was actually looking over the song, trying to see what I should change. However, I might have to cut half of the song out since Siren Queen isn't going to be taking anything from her, but she does have a plan. I'm thinking about using another song, but I want to hold off on that because I need to see where this heads first. And skylily6 brought up a point about Danny having powers in this story. If Danny had his powers, it would be much harder for him to leave Amity Park during the Summer because of the Ghost Attacks. So Danny doesn't have any ghost powers in this story.
Giga follows the light from the ocean and toward a part of the sea she has never seen before. However, she was surprised to see skeletons laying on the ground, most of them were humans with a few mermaids. She notices the light moving and quickly follows it.
"One Moment, dear."
Giga stops before she notices a cave. She saw it grow to let her inside and she swam in. She looks around and notices some strange potions and a crystal ball in the middle of the room.
"Welcome, Queen of the Mermaids."
Giga notices someone sitting on a throne wearing what looks to be a humanoid figure with white skin. Her eyes are cyan, appearing to have no pupils. She also has a purple mermaid tail that pops out of the rear.
"Hope you don't mind if we talk?" She said, smiling.
"The Siren Queen?!" Giga said, shocked.
"Indeed, my child. I have also changed my size so we can look at each other face to face." The Siren Queen said.
"Change your size?" Giga asked, confused.
"Yes, child. It has helped me deal with those that wish to destroy me. But we're here to talk about you." The Siren Queen said.
"Why me?" Giga said, remembering the stories she was told about the Siren Queen.
"I couldn't help but overhear you and your caretaker arguing about humans. I may not be very fawn of humans myself, but even I don't outright hate them." The Siren Queen said, swimming around Giga.
Giga didn't move. She had no idea what she was after.
"Of course, I saw your capture ten years ago and how a human saved you. A little young, but a sweet boy. What was his name again? Ah, yes! Danny Fenton." The Siren Queen said, smirking to herself.
"You know about Danny?" Giga asked, on edge.
"Now, now, my dear. I don't want to hurt him. I've seen how it looks and I won't lie, he is a handsome human." The Siren Queen said, seeing Giga glaring.
"Relax, I know better than to take a fellow Queen's love. But I also know you're worried about hurting him since you're far bigger than he is." The Siren Queen said.
Giga looks, still remembering how she could hold Danny without hurting him. She wanted to feel that again, but she never stop growling.
"The best way you can fix that is to make you human size." The Siren Queen said, surprising Giga.
"You can do that?" She asked.
"My dear, sweet child. That's what I do. It's what I live for. To help unfortunate merfolk like yourself. Poor souls with no one else to turn to." The Siren Queen said before she started to sing.
"I admit that in the past I've been a bit nasty. They weren't kidding when they called me, well, a witch. But you'll find that nowadays I've mended all my ways Repented, seen the light, and made a switch to this. True? Yes. And I, fortunately, know a little magic. It's a talent that I always have possessed. And dear lady, please don't laugh, I use it on behalf of the miserable, the lonely, and depressed (pathetic)."
Giga blinks before seeing two mermaids appearing from the crystal ball.
"Poor unfortunate souls. In pain, in need. This one longing to be thinner, that one wants to get the girl, and do I help them? Yes, indeed, Those poor unfortunate souls. So sad, so true, They come flocking to my cauldron, crying, "Spells, Siren Queen, please!" And I help them? Yes, I do."
Giga watched as the two Mermaids got their wishes and hugged. She smiles a bit before the Siren Queen sighs.
"Now it's happened once or twice. Someone couldn't pay the price, and I'm afraid I had to rake 'em 'cross the coals. Yes, I've had the odd complaint. But on the whole, I've been a saint. To those poor unfortunate souls." She added, showing what happen to the two mermaids.
Giga was surprised before the crystal ball stop glowing. She turns to the Siren Queen, a bit unsure.
"Do we have a deal?" She asked.
Giga looks down. She was a bit stuck. Be normal size and be with Danny, or stay this way and deal with her people hated towards humans.
"How will you stink me?" Giga asked, not seeing the Siren Queen smirking to herself.
She turns and moves a few potions out of the way before grabbing a sapphire in a silver ring.
"With this." She said, showing it to Giga.
Giga looks at it and asked, "What is it?"
"It was a normal sapphire at one point, but my mother give it some magic to make anyone that use it change their size at will. I even added a little spell that will allow any merfolk to become human as well." The Siren Queen said.
'Human?' Giga thought.
Her capture was still fresh in her mind from ten years ago, and coming off as a human could keep her safe from the humans that want to catch her.
"Oh, and there is one more thing. We haven't discussed the subject of payment." The Siren Queen said.
"Payment? But I don't have..." Giga started.
"I'm not asking much, just a token really, a trifle! What I want from you is your power." She said.
Giga quickly back away.
"No! I'm not handing over my title as payment!" She said.
"Now, now, let me be a bit clearer. I don't mean your title. I mean the power you carry inside you. You see, the sapphire lost its power after so many years of not being used. I'm trying to find a way to return its power, but it appears I'm having no luck. You have to send your power into the sapphire in order to use it. You can even take it back if you need to become a mermaid again." The Siren Queen said.
Giga looks unsure, but her caretaker's words return to her. Giga knew Danny wasn't one of them. He was looking for her to see her again. She kept away out of fear, slowly bringing harm to the boy without noticing. Maybe if she spends time with Danny, she can show that not all humans were the way they think. However, her power, the power that had been part of her family for years, up to the very first Mermaid Queen, was something that all mermaids put their lives on the line to keep safe. She had no idea what the power was, but she did want to use it for something.
"What do I have to do?" She asked.
The Siren Queen smiles. She swam closer, holding the sapphire closer.
"Just place your hand on the Sapphire and focus on your power." She said.
Giga did show and close her eyes. The Siren Queen saw her hand glow and smirked.
'The power of the mermaids! You poor unfortunate soul!' She thought, taking some of the power for herself.
Giga lets go as she felt a bit weak. She fell into the Siren Queen's throne and held her head.
"I guess I forgot that it will be a bit draining. Don't worry it will pass." The Siren Queen said, trying not to get upset about Giga sitting on her throne.
Giga felt her headache fade before getting up. The Siren Queen then hands the sapphire to her, smiling.
"Here. It's yours now." She said, placing it in Giga's hand.
She looks at it and wonders if she can be near Danny now.
"Oh, yes! To use it, you must be wearing it. Just tap the sapphire and summon your powers like before. Just think of yourself as a human to become one, and as a mermaid to change back. You're free to change your size as well." The Siren Queen said.
Giga looks at the stone before placing it in her hair.
"Thank you." She said, swimming out of the cave.
The Siren Queen watches her leave before chuckling which soon turns into a burst of full-on evil laughter.
Surface,
Giga looks around, seeing that it was still nighttime, and there were no humans on the beach. Taking a breath, she pulls herself onto the shore and looks around again.
Giga sighs before touching the sapphire.
'Make me human-size.' She thought.
The sapphire glowed and Giga could feel the magic surrounding her and felt herself sinking. However, she started to feel some pain in her tail, feeling that it was trying to rip itself apart. Giga tried to deal with it, but it was becoming too much for her. She was able to hold back a scream as she blacked out.
A bit later,
Giga groans as she opens her eyes. The moon was still out and she was laying on the beach. She sat up and notices everything look smaller. She then felt her lower half move. Remembering that her tail was going under some point, she looks down to check on it. However, she was surprised to see that she didn't have a tail, but a pair of legs! She also notice that her skin was still the same shades of green, meaning she was still part mermaid. Giga rolled over and looks at her new legs. She also notices that she had another seashell on, being held by two strings. She then felt her legs, not sure if they were real. They were. She looks around before seeing a close by. She drags herself over to it before pulling herself on it and sitting down.
She started by trying to get used to her new legs by trying to move them. It was weird, she was so used to having a tail since birth, that she tried to use both at once. Giga sighs before trying to lift just one. She had a bit of trouble due to her other leg trying to move at the same time, but she was able to lift her left leg and wiggle her new toes.
"Wow." She said before putting it down.
She was able to lift her right leg and smiled. She then decides to walk. She push herself off the rock but her legs started shaking before she fell back on the rock.
"This is harder than it looks." She said to herself.
Taking a breath, she slowly pushes herself up, her legs shaking again. This time, she was able to stand up. Now came the hard part. She tries to take a step only to fall face-first into the sand.
"How do humans do this?" She said, after spitting some sand out of her mouth.
Giga spends the next ten minutes trying to walk before she could do it without falling. She first started to walk down the beach before going into a jog before a full-out run. With each step, Giga felt her legs get better and better and before long, she could use them as a human. She couldn't even keep herself from laughing as she ran. She jump a few times and even did a cartwheel, during to seeing a human do one before. She stops and stood proud.
"It works. I might have only become part human, but I can use legs!" She cheers.
She took a breath and remember that she had to meet up with Danny. She turns and saw that she was near the hotel. Remembering which room Danny was in, Giga walks over to it and notices a pipeline on the side. She had never climbed before, but she was willy to give it a try. She carefully grabs the pipe before placing one foot on the wall. She slowly pulls herself up, slipping a few times, but held on. After a bit, she reaches the window and peeks in. There she saw Danny and his friends still sleeping and sighs. She knocks on the window, causing the two boys to groan and roll over.
She knocks again, hoping to wake Danny.
Danny groans as he heard another knock that wakes him up. He sits up and yawns before hearing the knock again. He turns and saw a familiar girl at the window.
"Hey, Giga." He said tiredly before laying back down.
"Wait? GIGA?!" Danny shouted, snapping awake.
He turns and saw the mermaid by the window and notices she looked much smaller. He climbs out of bed and walks towards it.
"Giga? Is that you?" He asked, opening the window.
However, he was shocked and surprise to see that not only she was smaller, about his size, but she had had legs and she was wearing nothing but seashells.
"Yes, Danny. Can I come in? My arms are getting tired." She said.
Though confused, Danny helps the now human-size mermaid in, trying not to stare at the lack of clothing she was in.
"Giga, what happen to you?" He asked.
"It's a long story," Giga said, smiling a bit.
And done. As I said, I had to cut Poor Unfortunate Souls in half. The second half of the song didn't match anything I had in mind, but I was able to put the idea I thought into the story. Giga's power is now inside the Sapphire and the Siren Queen took some herself, while Giga didn't know. And yes, I gave Giga legs. I did my best to show that Giga need time to get used to them first then have her surprise Danny. I need a little more time to think on Giga's full human form as well as the clothes she going to wear. And yes, I will think of a back story she and Danny call his parents. And give me some time to think on the other Mermaids reaction to their Queen being nowhere to be found. They don't even know that Giga made a deal with Siren Queen and she is now with Danny.
