Danny sat up for the rest of the night, listening to Giga's story. From how her caretaker learned about him, swimming away from her home, worrying about her people going after him, and meeting the Siren Queen. She kept the burst out and the reason for the deal to herself.
"So, I came to shore and tried to make myself human. As you can see, I'm halfway there." She said, showing him her legs.
"Y-Y-Yeah." Danny stuttered, blushing.
"They're really nice." He added, trying to look away.
'Nice legs? Come on, Fenton. She has beautiful legs!' His pervert side said.
'Now, now, he's trying to be modest. Does it looks like he wants to creep her out?' His Conscious spoke up.
'Well, maybe not. But come on! At least ask if you can touch them!' His pervert side said.
'Won't that sound weird? Giga is a mermaid and asking that could come off as weird and odd to a mermaid who is used to having a tail.' His Conscious Side said.
"Danny? Are you okay? Your face is all red." Giga asked, breaking from the mini-war in his head.
"I'm fine." He said, trying to calm down.
Giga looked a little worried but decides to leave it be. The two just sat on the bed in silence. They heard a snore and turn to see Tucker still sleeping.
"Your friend looks to be a heavy sleeper," Giga said.
"That's Tuck for ya. I swear, he could sleep through anything." Danny said, rolling his eyes.
Danny then sigh and saw Giga touching her legs again, causing his face to turn red.
'Get a grip, Fenton!' He told himself, fighting off the blush.
However, he knew that no one knew who Giga was, and he had to do something to keep her safe. Plus, he wasn't sure how he could explain how a mermaid with human legs suddenly appear in his bedroom.
"Giga?" He said, making the mermaid look at him.
"Yes?" She asked.
"It's great that you wanted to see me again, but you did kind of enter an all-boys bedroom." He said.
Giga blinks, a little confused.
"You see, this hotel has a rule. Unless married, all guests must share a room with a member of the same gender. Meaning that I share this room with Tucker since we're both boys. If someone walked in and saw you, never mind that you're a mermaid, they will kick you out and try to call your parents." Danny explain.
"My parents pass a long time ago. And before you worry, it wasn't humans." Giga said.
Danny felt sorry for her and was glad that it wasn't his kind that cause her to lose them.
"And we need to get you some clothes. You can't walk around like this." Danny said, fighting his blush again.
Giga blinks, wondering what he means.
Early in the morning,
With a little help from Giga, Danny woke up Tucker and ask him to get Sam and Jazz. Though Tucker was shocked to see Giga, he did want he was asked.
"Just one question." He said before leaving.
"What?" Danny asked.
"I can understand Sam, but why Jazz?" Tucker asked.
"One, I think her clothes will be better for Giga, and Two, Jazz still don't believe me about her," Danny said.
Tucker shrugs and left. Taking a breath, Danny turns to Giga who was staring out the window.
"Giga? Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah. I'm hoping my people aren't too worried about me. I mean, I did swim away from them when they learn about you." She said.
Danny placed a hand on her shoulder, sighing.
"I'm sure if you go back and talk to them they'll understand, but when you feel ready." He said.
Giga smiles, glad he was still the kind boy she meant 10 years ago. The door opens and a tired Sam and Jazz walked in with Tucker nursing a blackeye.
"Let me guess, Tucker got too close and you gave him a black eye?" Danny asked the girls.
"Sam did. I just slap him." Jazz said, yawning.
"That's when she notices the new person in the bedroom.
"I must be sleeping. I'm seeing a green girl in the room." Jazz said.
"You're not," Danny told her.
"Huh? Excuse me, I need to splash some water on my face." Jazz said, heading toward the bathroom.
Danny rolled his eyes as Sam walked up.
"You're Giga, right?" She asked.
"Yes. I know I look different, but I promise to explain later." Giga said.
Sam nods as Jazz steps out of the bathroom.
"Okay, I'm not dreaming." She said, seeing Giga.
"Sit down, Jazz," Danny said, knowing this was going to shock her.
A few minutes later,
Tucker, Sam, and Jazz all stared in Giga in shock after they heard the tale. Through, Jazz was more shocked to learn that story her brother told her ten years was true.
"So, you're human now?" Tucker asked.
"Err, no. I felt some kind of pain in my tail and I passed out. When I awoke, I had legs. I spend most of the night getting used to them." Giga said.
"Okay, I must be dreaming." Jazz said.
Danny rolled his eyes and walked over to Jazz. He pinches her arm and saw her flinch.
"See? You are not dreaming." He smirks.
"But I have to be! Mermaids are a myth created by sailors!" Jazz said.
"Jazz," Danny said, crossing his arms.
"But..." Jazz started before Giga walked over to her.
"I know this is hard, but you need to look at me and see if this is a dream." She said.
Jazz looked into Giga's eyes and could see that it wasn't a trick. She wasn't some girl painted in green and was wearing some seashells to trick her.
"It's true? You're a mermaid?" She asked.
Giga nodded and Jazz turns to Danny and his friends.
"When did this happen?" She asked.
"We met her yesterday. She saved us from some sharks." Tucker said.
"And she was a lot bigger than what she is now," Sam added.
"I met her ten years ago. I told you the story, Jazz." Danny reminded her.
Jazz looks down, feeling a little guilty she didn't believe her brother.
"Wait, I remember you telling me that she pulled you underwater and kissed you to let you breathe underwater." Jazz pointed out.
"Err, yes," Danny said, blushing a bit.
"Kiss?" Sam asked, trying not to twitch.
"I was four, Sam. I didn't even know what a kiss was unless it was on the forehead and cheek." Danny said, looking away.
"I was giving him the ability to breathe underwater as thanks for saving me. I wasn't going to let him drown." Giga added.
Sam took a breath, trying not to let her anger get to her.
"Well, no good deed goes unpunished," Tucker said, trying to light up the room.
Sam hit him on the back of the head as Danny pick up the clothes Jazz brought.
"Anyways, Jazz, Sam? Can you help Giga get dressed?" He asked the girls.
Jazz nodded and Sam rose an eyebrow. Sam peeks into the hallway and saw no one was around. Giga then follows the two girls back to their room as Danny sighs. He knew Giga will have to go back, but maybe he could at least be there for her. Now, how was he going to tell his parents about her?
A bit later,
It was getting close to breakfast, and the girls haven't returned. Finally, they heard a knock and Danny open it. He saw Sam and Jazz, but with a new girl that looked familiar.
She had blue eyes and blue hair braided in a fishtail. She wore a loose tank in a sea green with pink accents and Bermuda shorts. She even had Grecian sandals on.
"Hi, Danny." She said, causing Danny to go wide eye.
"Giga?!" He asked, shocked.
"Surprised us too. When she came out, she looked more human than before." Sam said.
Giga now had normal human skin color, close to his skin color, and normal human ears. It was like she was never a mermaid.
"Anyways, what's the story with her?" Jazz asked.
"Huh?" Danny asked, confused.
"I mean what are we going to tell people? I doubt they're going to believe that she's a mermaid that turned herself human." Jazz told him.
"Right! I was thinking of that. I having a bit of trouble coming up with a believable story. I can only think of is how her parents sent Giga on a vacation but forgot to give her money, and we offer her a place to stay." Danny said.
"But what if the main office doesn't know her?" Sam asked.
"Well, we, um," Danny said, haven't thought of that.
"Look, can we get some breakfast?" Tucker asked, feeling hungry.
"Sure, what about you, Giga?" Danny said before asking the mermaid.
"My people do eat fish, but we snack a lot on seaweed," Giga said.
"You eat fish?!" Sam asked, shocked.
"We mostly stick to seaweed. Because of my size, I needed to eat a lot of them." Giga said.
"But, but!" Sam said, unable to believe what she heard.
"Yeah, sorry about her. Sam is an animal rights fanatic. She probably thinks that you eating fish is wrong." Danny said.
"You're part fish!" Sam said.
"Um, Sam? Did you forget that normal fish also eat other fish?" Jazz asked.
"There's always a bigger fish," Danny added.
Sam blinks before sighing. With that, the four headed downstairs with Giga being close to Danny. Danny gave her a smile which she return. Both of them felt their hearts beat faster as they walked together. Sam and Tucker notice as Tucker sighs while Sam growls under her breath.
Later, at the beach,
Breakfast was okay. No one seems to notice that there was an extra person and Giga was able to try out a few pancakes. And because she was much smaller, they didn't have to worry about feeding her too much. They also had more time to think on their cover story since Danny's and Jazz's parents were a bit of late-night sleepers.
They walked down the beach before Danny spotted a pile of rocks. He walks over to them with everyone else following.
"I remember these rocks. It's where I met Giga for the first time." Danny said.
"Yes, and where I was captured by some humans," Giga said, remembering that day well.
Danny walks past the rocks and saw two things still laying on the ground, a bit covered in sand. He brushes some of it away and picks up the sharp rock.
"I can't believe they're still here," Danny said, thinking that someone would have found them by now.
Giga joins him and saw the net that held her ten years ago. She picks it up and saw the hole he made. She smiles as she remembers the day she was saved by a human. By a young boy who was different than what she was told.
"So this where you and Giga met?" Tucker asked, looking around.
"Pretty much." Danny nodded.
Giga drops the net, sighing.
"Are you okay, Giga?" Danny asked her.
The Mermaid just turns and hugs Danny, surprising him.
"I never did thank you for what you did ten years ago." She said, making Danny smile.
"It's okay. I was doing what I thought was right." Danny said, hugging her back.
Jazz smiled as she could tell that the two were close as Tucker saw Sam's eye twitch.
"KIDS!"
Everyone heard the Fentons calling out to them and Danny sighed.
"Ready to meet my parents?" He asked, Giga.
She nods and they walked over to them. However, they didn't notice that a man was watching them. He smirks and decides to follow them.
And stopping here. I started on this last night and finished this morning. I would like to thank skylily6 and Lord of Waffles for their ideas. Seriously! What is that name?! Lord of Waffles? Anyways, Giga now made herself look human with normal skin color and normal ears, and so far, no one notices what she is. The next chapter will cover more on Danny's and Giga's time together and I will cover the other mermaid's reactions to their queen missing. I'm just trying to build up the relationship between the two first. And this story did just start.
