It didn't take them long to find Jack and Maddie, who were surprised to see a new person with them. They notice how close she was to Danny and both of them smile.
"Well, lookie here! Nice work, Danny." Jack said, confusing him.
"What?" Danny asked.
"You didn't tell you had a girlfriend," Jack said, wiggling his eyebrows.
Danny blushed as Sam tries not to growl out loud.
"She's not my girlfriend! She's my friend who happens to be a girl!" Danny said, fighting his blush.
"Nice to meet you, dear. I'm Maddie and this is my husband, Jack." Maddie said, shaking Giga's hand.
"Nice to meet you," Giga said, glad she knew what a handshake was.
"This, um, Gina. She comes here every summer as well." Danny said, trying to come up with a name for Giga.
"Really?" Maddie asked.
"Yes, but her family forget to give her money, and I offer to stay with us," Danny said.
Giga looks confused but Jazz was the one that explained.
"Mom and Dad don't believe in mermaids. Plus, they will freak out if they find out. Better keep it under wraps." She whispers.
Though she was still confused, Giga nodded.
"So Gina? Do you like ghosts?" Jack asked.
"Ghosts?" Giga asked, confused.
"Right! I forget to mention my parents are into the supernatural." Danny groans.
"Well, I don't have any interest in ghosts. I am interested in mermaids." Giga said.
"Mermaids? I use to love those as a kid." Maddie said, smiling.
"You did?" Danny and Jazz asked.
"They were my favorite mythical creatures. Real or not, I always read everything I can find about them." Maddie smiles.
Giga blinks. If she used to like mermaids, then why is she into ghosts?
"I see some things haven't changed."
Everything turns and saw a man walking up to them. Jack smiles when he saw who it was.
"Vladdie!" He shouted, hugging the man.
"You recovered from the ecto-ache!" He added, squeezing the man.
"Yes, I did. Now, PUT ME DOWN!" Vlad shouted.
Jack did so and back away.
"Sorry." He said.
Vlad smiles before looking at Maddie.
"Maddie, nice to see that you're in good health." He said.
"Vlad. I see you're out of the hospital." Maddie said, crossing her arms.
So, I take it there around your kids?" Vlad asked.
"Actually, Vlad, these two are ours. This Jasmine and Daniel." Jack said, holding his kids close.
"Those two are Tucker and Sam, Danny's friends," Jack added.
"And this is Gina, our son's new girlfriend," Jack said, smirking.
"Dad!" Danny blushed.
Vlad looks at Giga, who backs away a bit. There was something about this man she didn't like. She quickly hid behind Danny, surprising the boy.
"Oh? A shy one?" Vlad asked.
Danny looks at Giga and could tell she didn't like the man. Heck, even Danny is getting a weird feeling from him.
"So, Vlad, what brings you out here?" Jack asked.
"Well, after getting out of the hospital, my social life was almost ruined. It took some time but I was able to pick myself back up and started a new course in my life. Sorry, Jack, but I move on from Ghosts." Vlad said.
Jack looks down before he smiles.
"Well, I'm glad you're okay. I would have visited you, but the doctors said it was really bad, and they didn't want to risk anyone getting close." Jack said.
"Yes, I can still remember seeing my family so close, but they're were so far. I did call them when I got out, and they were happy to see me again. In fact, it was their idea for me to get out of the mansion and enjoy the sun. Which, I will admit, it does feel good to get some fresh air." Vlad.
"So, would you like to join us? We come every summer. Our own little getaway!" Jack smiles.
"What happened in trying to build a portal into the Ghost Zone?" Vlad asked, confused.
"We tried to keep it under wraps, but somehow the new mayor didn't like the idea of ghosts being in the town. They told us to stop building it, or they will take our kids." Jack said, sadly.
Vlad was surprised at that. The mayor orders them to stop or they'll lose their kids? He thought nothing would stop Jack from completing his dream.
"I see. Well as for your offer, I must decline. I'm sorry, Jack, but I was on my way to a small meeting before I spotted the children." Vlad said.
"Well, if you change your mind, we're here all summer!" Jack told him.
Vlad smiled and Giga didn't like it.
"I'll keep it in mind, until next time." He said before walking away.
"Danny? Why do you and your friends get ready?" Maddie said.
"Um, sure, mom," Danny said, still lost on the whole thing.
Later,
The teens change into their swimsuits before Danny spotted Giga walking out. She was wearing a sea-green one-piece suit that showed some of her curves and her nice legs. He quickly slaps himself, causing Tucker and Sam to notice.
"Are you okay, dude?" Tucker asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Danny said, hoping this wasn't going to happen all summer.
"This feels different. Are you sure I can use wear the seashells?" Giga asked.
"Sorry, but this beach has rules, and your shells barely cover everything." Jazz said, sighing.
Giga sighs before she turns to Danny.
"So, what do you think?" She asked, unsure.
"You looked meat! I mean great!" Danny blushed.
'Clueless.' Jazz and Tucker thought.
Sam rolled her eyes at his answer.
"Let's go you two." Jazz said, sighing.
As Jazz lead the two back down the beach, Tucker sighs and turns to Sam.
"Sam, I know that look." He said.
"What look?" Sam asked.
"The look that shows how you feel every time a new girl gets near Danny," Tucker said, shaking his head.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Sam denied.
"Sure you don't. Just remember that she's a giant mermaid that could crush you with ease." Tucker told her before heading towards the beach.
Sam blinks before shaking her head. She soon follows after them, trying not to let the fact that a giant mermaid was with them.
Giga dove under the water, and soon learn that she had to hold her breath as she almost choked. She was lucky that the sapphire had her power, and she quickly use it to get the seawater out of her mouth. She swam, enjoying the feeling of water on her. If only she could turn back into her mermaid form. However, Danny has warned her about turning back when there were people around. So she had to stay as human for now. She soon surfaced and flips her hair out of her face. She swam towards shore and saw Danny sitting by the edge.
She went up to him and grabs his arm. Danny almost cried out when Giga pulled him underwater. Danny was able to hold his breath and Giga pulled him deeper. She touches the sapphire and turns her skin and ears back to normal. She decided to keep her legs as she felt she could breathe again. She then pulls Danny close to her and kissed him. When she let go, Danny found he could breathe underwater again.
"Huh, I kind of forgot about that," Danny said, sheepishly.
'To think I got my second kiss.' He added in thought.
"Forgive me, but I long to swim with you again," Giga said, glad that her new legs weren't too hard to use underwater.
"Well, I did recall having dreams about doing this again," Danny said, smiling.
Giga smiles and took Danny's hand. The two spend the next ten minutes swimming underwater. Giga really enjoys her time with Danny. She felt the same feeling she had ten years ago and she longed to have that again. And now here she was, swimming with the one human that made her happy.
Danny notices Giga staring and looked confused.
"Giga? Are you okay?" He asked, causing her to blush and turn away.
"Y-Yes! Sorry! I got lost in thought!" She said, fighting her blush.
Taking a breath, and almost forgetting he was underwater, Danny swam up to her and touch her shoulder
"Listen, Giga?" He said, making the mermaid turn to him.
"I understand that you wish to keep me safe and I need to do the same. But if you want, when you're ready, I'll go with you to talk to your people." He said.
Giga blinks and looked worried.
"Are you sure? They might attack you." Giga said.
"Hey, even if they could, I doubt you'll let them hurt me," Danny said, knowing she will protect him.
Giga thought about it and understood what he meant. Of course, there was her caretaker. She might not be so welcoming to Danny. But maybe if she shows her people the kind of person Danny is, maybe she doesn't have to worry about her people hurting him.
"Okay. For now, let's keep swimming." Giga said, taking his arm and pulling him around.
Danny could only chuckle as he looks at Giga.
'You know. She is pretty.' He thought.
And I end up running out of ideas after the meeting with Vlad, and I just wrote whatever popped in my mind. Sorry if the second half looks like their rushing. But trust me, I'm taking my time. Also, I need a better name for Giga. I tried to come up with one but I couldn't come up with anything good and just wrote a random name. If anyone has a better name, I'll change it. I also what this story to be at least 20 chapters and it going to take place in the whole summer. So, there will be some time skips to get a move on with the story. I try to add the Mermaid's reaction to their queen missing in the next chapter.
