Where, Sam thought suddenly, was Mr. Frodo? He couldn’t be seen anywhere in this fog. So much had begun to pour from Sam’s pockets, he couldn’t keep it all in his hands anymore- had Frodo been one of the things to slip through the cracks, like a tiny jewel or moondrop, small enough to fall through Sam’s fingers? Was he lost somewhere back on the path in the fog, left all alone?

With the way the moonlight came in the elvish windows, Frodo suddenly looked unbearably pretty.
