Disclaimer: I don't own Sailor Moon or Dragon Ball Z. I'm only writing this story for pure entertainment and not making any money out of this work at all. The History of Trunks is something that I'll watch over and over again because it's my favorite movie of Dragon Ball Z, next to Bojack Unbound amongst others. With Sailor Moon, I can watch Crystal again and again, but the style of seasons 1 and 2 irked me a lot.
Despite this, I'm currently working on another story, but I've decided to put that one on hold for a moment and get this one out of my system before I go crazy lol.
Anyway, due to the History of Trunks and the confusing timeline of it, and the crossover of Sailor Moon, I'm making a few changes to it so anyone won't get confused by the age differences of each character that'll be present in this story. Also because of its dark and depressing theme, I advise having a box of tissues ready cause the first chapter is going to be heartbreaking.
Author's Note: I'm going to use the original Japanese names of the Sailor Scouts that'll be mentioned later on in the story, cause I'm more used to those names than that of the English version… no offense to those who like the English dub of Sailor Moon. Another thing is, I'm going to bump up the ages of Past Trunks from when he was a baby to a seventeen-year-old and it's mostly taking place during the Trunks Saga and the start of Android Saga.
Acknowledgments: I'm dedicating this story not only to myself but to the rest of my new friends who helped me along the way: Sailor Silver Ladybug, Astrearose-SilverMoon, Abielle-A-Miel, and Sammeezilla in their part in helping me with this story and I'm so grateful for every one of you!
Hope for the Future: A Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z Story
Chapter One: Death
Chi Chi stood in front of the doorway to her tiny home, holding the basket of laundry in her grasp, a small smile forming across her face as she looked at the redheaded young woman holding her child's hand tightly so she won't run off and get lost in the nearby woods. While she didn't want them to go, she knew that they had to because if they'd stayed long enough, Trunks would come out here once again and retrieve them himself.
"Are you sure you don't want Korado to get you home safely? What if the Androids get you both?" She asked, setting down the basket full of clothes while looking at the mother and daughter duo, her voice etched with worry. She didn't want to lose them like she lost Goku and Gohan; they are her very best friends and Hanako was like a daughter to her.
Standing next to her was a handsome young man who is a few inches taller than her and he had a fair skin complexion with long, messy, black hair with bangs reaching past his shoulders and possess an athletic build. His eyes were pitch-black, similar to that of the nighttime sky. Like most Saiyans, he had a long and prehensile tail covered with brown fur.
He wore a white hanfu-style shirt with gold buttons and long sleeves with black outlining at the very end of them. The collar covered most of his neck, but that didn't bother him. He wore thick dark blue pants with a brown belt attached to them and brown boots with gold outlines. Chi Chi had always said that she preferred him to wear something more presentable than rags, much to the latter's disgust, but he went along with it to make her happy.
The redheaded young woman smiled at the older woman, telling her that they'll be okay. While she was thankful for Chi-Chi's concern, it was honestly starting to annoy her. Aino-Briefs Hanako dismissed her worries with a friendly wave and she kept her attention on them both. There's no need for her to do anything right now but instead spend time with those she considers her family.
"We're going to be fine, Chi-Chi-san. And besides, what would Trunks think about Korado in a time like this? He would have to keep a watch on him as well," she joked with a laugh. Hanako had noticed that Trunks had become rather overprotective of not just Misako, but her as well.
While she understands that he means well, she feels like she couldn't breathe when he's standing over her shoulder, and since her husband had to go and train, both she and Misako used that time to escape and check on Chi Chi and practice with one another to become stronger so they can help and defeat the androids.
Though, she realized that when they return, Trunks would no doubt ask where they have been all afternoon, and yet, Hanako had enough of his overprotectiveness and sheltering.
"She does have a point there, Chi-Chi," Korado pointed out until he noticed the crestfallen expression on Misako's face. The small child avoided her friend's gaze, not wanting to look into his eyes. "It's going to be alright, Misako. You can come to visit me sometime next week if I'm not busy."
When he had said those words, Misako's eyes lit up, sparkling with happiness and hope, but she did wonder if her father had grown suspicious of her behavior already. And if he did, would he ask her why she'd been sneaking off so much? It's bad enough that only her mother and Chi-Chi know about his existence and even her grandmother has met him once, and her dad doesn't, though, the ten-year-old has obvious reasons as to why not to tell him.
Trust issues.
It didn't seem fair, but she was willing to accept it, even if it means lying to him constantly so he won't suspect a thing. Misako even hid some of her drawings of Korado's away, so Trunks won't even bother to look at them or ask what she's drawing.
After a few moments of silence, she beamed happily at him, lunging herself forward at him and wrapping her arms around his waist tightly.
"It feels like when I'm gone, our visits are becoming less and less," she said, tears brimming her eyes. Misako hated this; being apart from her only best friend other than Chibiusa hurts her, and she too can't see the Moon Princess as often due to her duties as a Princess and a Sailor Soldier. "I don't want to leave you!"
Both Chi-Chi and Hanako watched the scene, tears also brimming Chi-Chi's eyes as well at the sight, knowing that their friendship is stronger and they both shared a deep connection. Even Hanako noticed how close this Saiyan boy was becoming close with her only daughter. He was like an older brother figure to her as well and to Hanako, he was almost a son to her.
At first, Korado was taken aback by the unexpected hug, and the only thing he did was stroke Misako's hair and crouched down, hugging her tightly while his free hand patted her back as well. Although he didn't want to admit it, he had grown fond of the little girl very much and is her only friend since he spent years traveling alone in space as a rogue Saiyan without any friends or family to keep him company.
"Alright, Misako, dear. Let's go home before your father starts searching for us," Hanako urged gently, her heartbreaking at the sight of her daughter pulling away from Korado, and the girl reluctantly pulling away from him and walking to her. "It was nice seeing you again, Chi-Chi. We'll try to come out here again next time if Trunks isn't breathing down our necks."
Chi Chi laughed, but it was true since Trunks hardly lets them come out on their own, even though they are sailor guardians and he said he doesn't know why, but he could feel something terrible happening to his own family once again and he wasn't going to take any chances. She watched as the redheaded young woman looked at the sky and took off flying, soon followed by her daughter.
"Bye, Chi-Chi! Bye Korado! We'll miss you!" Misako called out with a wave, turning around briefly as she looked down at them. She doesn't know when she'll see Korado again, but deep in her heart, she was certain that she'll one day see him full-time again.
"Bye, Misako and Hanako! Tell Bulma and Trunks I said hello!" she exclaimed, watching them getting smaller and smaller in the distance. Chi-Chi turned to the boy, her smile turning into a frown, and her eyebrows scrunched up together, narrowing them at him. "Go after them. I have a feeling that this may be the last time I see Hanako-chan alive."
"Right. I'm on it."
He still made sure that the girls were far away so they won't see him, and he took off high in the air, a serious expression written all over his face.
...
Hand in hand, mother and daughter flew up in the air, their eyes remaining focused straight ahead to the direction of Capsule Corp, where they would soon be greeted by Trunks and Bulma, and then ask if they'd seen any androids on their way home. It often annoyed the redheaded woman, but she held her tongue from lashing out at him to say that he got his paranoia the best of him.
Sometimes, she wished that she could tell Trunks how she feels, but she doesn't want to end up as a coward in front of their daughter, so there wasn't enough time to break down.
Despite knowing the dangers every day, Misako was well-aware that the instincts of her parents would pick up. It often frightens her to the point where she would often hide behind her mother or father when there's an explosion outside and asks what's going on, and then Bulma would explain to her that the androids had attacked another city once again.
She sees how serious her father becomes, how determined her mother looks, and how exhausted her grandmother is at another attack. Sometimes, her mother can't always remain strong, so every once in a while, she would break down into tears while listening to the news coverage on the radio again.
Although she was a child, Misako grew tired of the violence already. She couldn't help but feel envious of Chibiusa, while at the same time, glad that she doesn't have to deal with the amount of pain and turmoil she's already experienced all over again. It felt as if yesterday was the day the Black Moon Clan came to the Moon Kingdom, destroying everything in its path, and wiping out the citizens of Crystal Tokyo.
That was the last time Misako had ever seen Chibiusa in person for a while, and after that, she was starting to grow lonely without her best friend. Everything changed when she met Korado. A rogue Saiyan, and had been after for a while; long even before the destruction of Planet Vegeta, but was sent on a remote planet far from the destruction.
She learned from him that he left at the age of fifteen, wanting to explore the world, and had developed a different personality unlike most Saiyans he knew, but wasn't as violent as them.
As Hanako held her daughter's hand tightly, the ruffles of her peach lolita dress billowed gently in the wind. She'd noticed that her daughter was lost in thought, but didn't question it until her eyes glanced down and she stopped, looking down at the city below. Her eyebrows knitted together in a knot of frustration, gritting her teeth while she clenched her other free hand into a fist.
'Damn, those monsters! They've destroyed everything!' she thought angrily, lowering down to the city below her. The buildings were no longer standing as they once were. Some were leaning up against the ground, streetlights swayed in the wind, and powerlines struggled to stand up. Cars remained abandoned and clothes were scattered all over the place. Several shops and businesses were closed, signs dangling from the buildings.
To make matters worse, several stores were also looted by the remaining survivors to salvage many clothes as they possibly can or by Android 18 herself.
"Come on. Let's check if there are any survivors," Hanako said, still holding onto Misako's hand as they both landed on the ground. There was nothing but silence that filled the air, and that send a chill up their spines. "Stay close to me, my little princess. Don't wander off."
Misako nodded, following her mother while her eyes darted towards the destroyed city. "Mama, why are the androids destroying innocent lives?" she asked, looking back at her curiously with a mixture of innocence.
Hanako took a deep breath, facing away from the ruins of the destroyed city, crouching down to her daughter's level, wanting to tell her that with just the two of her and Trunks, they're doing everything in their power to keep the world safe and protected from these monsters.
"Your father and I are doing the best we can to keep the world safe. Not to mention, Aunt Minako occasionally comes and helps out when she's available. And don't forget that Grandma Bulma is still working on that time machine I've told you about," Hanako explained gently, getting up and still holding her hand.
As her mother is explaining to her about the time machine, however, Misako's eyes darted upwards when all of a sudden a blast came out of nowhere and both she and her mother quickly glanced up when they both spotted the coldhearted killers: Android 17 and 18, who both stood in the air, towering above them.
"Oh, look at this. How cute of seeing that sword-wielding man's wife and his daughter out in the open by themselves. Shouldn't we be expecting him anytime soon?" 17 asked in a mocking tone, his piercing ice-cold blue eyes looking straight into the determined red eyes of the woman who stood up and bravely picked up her child. How pathetic.
Seeing her chance, Hanako decides to plead with them to spare their lives. "Please. Leave us alone and don't harm us. Why are you doing this?" she asked bravely, but if one looked closer, there was no doubt a mixture of fear in her eyes as well, but she hid it well for the sake of her daughter. She continues to hold Misako tightly, not wanting to let her go and be their next target.
She heard the stories where some children are now orphans after their parents were killed by the Androids and there wasn't any way she and Trunks were going to leave her alone at such a young age, even though she had remaining family members who would be more than willing enough to take care of her. Despite this, Hanako wasn't ready.
"We're programmed to kill and we want to get revenge on Goku for destroying the Red Ribbon Army when he was a child," 17 respond with no emotion in his voice.
18 nodded and hummed in agreement. "Killing humans is fun and a pastime. 17's right about that and Dr. Gero wasn't fast enough to replace the human race with artificial beings."
Misako fearfully gazed up at the beings, hiding underneath her mother's arms. "Mommy. I'm scared and I want to go home," she whimpered, her tail swaying back and forth.
Tearing her gaze away from the androids, Hanako's ruby-red orbs softened, crouching down low to her level and hugging her tightly again. "I want you to do one thing for me, sweetheart. Go and get your father and don't look back," she declared seriously, swallowing thickly. She knew that this would be the hardest thing ever that she had done, but if they wanted it, then so be it.
Misako gasped and protested, "I don't want to leave!"
Hanako stood her ground, not wanting to argue with her daughter. They left her no choice, but this is the only way to keep her family alive and safe.
'I'm so sorry, Trunks, Misako-chan, Bulma-san, Minako-chan…please. Forgive me.' she thought.
"Just run and don't back!" she ordered, and in no time, Misako took off, flying in the air while still scared leaving her mother alone, and she clenched her fists and a tear rolled down her cheek, not liking the idea that her mother is going to fight them by herself. Why couldn't she simply wait for daddy? "Hedone Star Power, Make-Up!"
Within seconds, flashes of ribbon and light embraced her. The clothing she wore vanished, only to be replaced by a white fuku with its short light green skirt. Shoulder pads appeared on her shoulders with pairs of gloves covering half of her arms and wore pastel pink heels.
Heart-shaped earrings, a green choker, and a heart-shaped jewel appeared on the choker. She still couldn't believe that this will be her final time on Earth, with her friends and family. Surely they'll understand why she did this. Sacrifices must be made, and she never once understood that phrase at all, long before she became a Sailor Guardian.
"Please, spare Misako in all of this! She's just an innocent child!" she screamed, preparing her fighting stance. What's the use in pleading with them? They just enjoy killing for the fun of it and seeing thousands of innocents die is pure enjoyment for them.
17 scoffed. "Pathetic human and you all deserve to die!"
Enraged at his words, Sailor Hedone raises her hand and her left hand began to shine, and in form of a pink heart, light flew around her once before stopping and morphing into a shape of a butterfly. "By the great potential of love…take this! Hedone love attack!" she hollered, sending the attack at the androids, but to her shock and disbelief, they both dodged the attack by simply moving out of the way, allowing the hit to be aimed at a nearby building.
'What the hell?! That was my strongest attack! It was supposed to hit them!' she thought angrily to herself.
17 smirked at her wickedly, silently laughing at the disappointed expression on her face. He lifted his left hand, aiming directly at her.
"Goodnight, sweet princess. Sleep well," he said until he bursts out into laughter, killing her instantly with his blast.
Sailor Hedone's eyes widened in shock and horror as she let out a blood-curdling scream, the blast going right through her. Her uniform disappeared, collapsing to the ground with a loud crash. Her eyes rolled into the back of her head and were pure white before they closed. Cuts and bruises appeared all over her body, and blood begins to pool out of the side of her stomach, and into the cracked, dry earth.
They'd finally ended Sailor Hedone's life and she won't be able to destroy them, not even her precious Sailor Guardians and legendary Silver Crystal.
"One down, and one more to go. 17, let's get that girl," 18 declared, earning a nod from her twin brother and the two took off flying in the direction that Misako took.
...
Meanwhile, Misako kept her eyes focused on the direction in front of her, her hands clenched into fists, and her expression grim. Wanting to make sure that her mother had finally caught up to her, she stopped in mid-air as she doesn't sense her mother's ki anymore. Thoughts jumbled up in her mind, wondering what was taking so long. Is she okay? Should she go back and get her?
No! She's supposed to go home and get her father and bring him to her, so they can fight side by side. That was the order. Tears leaked from her eyes as her lips quivered, finally understanding why her mother didn't show up sooner and made her fly back to Capsule Corp by herself.
'Mommy. Why did you have to do it? You're leaving me and daddy alone! Why?!' she thought bitterly to herself, tears flowing down heavily as she looked away from the setting sun. Sniffling, the young girl decides to fly further, that is until she is soon blocked from flying again. She looks up and gasps, horror written all over her face. Blue irises shrunk down at the beings who'd killed her mother.
"Your mommy is gone," 17 announced in a mocking tone, chortling at the sight of her tear-stained face, turning to his sister, "18. Would you like to do the honors?"
"YOU MONSTERS! HOW DARE YOU TAKE AWAY MY MOMMY AND DESTROY EVERYTHING?! I WILL END YOU!" she screamed.
In a blur, her once red hair turned upwards, and into a bright shade of yellow, with her once blue eyes turning green. Thinking fast, the child immediately launched herself at the androids, punching and kicking them as hard as she can. However, due to her new strength, Misako hadn't realized how much energy she used and as well her age.
"Worthless," 18 said, punching Misako in the face, sending her flying across the air. She watched as the little girl's eyes went backward in her head. She lifted her hand and aimed at the child, her palm glowing red, and was about to blast Misako until her attack was thwarted away, prompting 17 to jump out of the incoming blast. "Who the hell are you?"
Her icy blue eyes met a pair of onyx orbs and standing before her and her twin brother was a mysterious young man with messy black hair and jet black eyes. Just like the kid, he too had a tail.
"Someone you don't want to mess with, 18," Korado responded sharply, holding Misako in his grasp. He had felt her ki a mile away and was shocked when he had witnessed her transform into a Super Saiyan for the first time. The death of her mother and the power of the androids were too much. "We're finished here…for now."
Thanks to Misako's never-on end about the Androids and what they had looked like in her drawings when she first showed him, Korado had to realize that it was time to protect the Earth and do everything he can since nearly all of the legendary Z Fighters had gone, leaving only Trunks as the lone survivor; if not his wife and daughter, mother, Chi-Chi, and the others. The Sailor Guardians even watched through the Palace of Crystal Tokyo, with King Endymion and Queen Serenity rarely assisting Hanako and Trunks in the battle for upgrades of Hanako's items and even going as far with hand to hand combat, but even with these powers, it wasn't enough to destroy the Androids, but just barely.
17 watched as the Saiyan boy and Misako left, knowing this time they won't be alive the next time they see each other again.
"Should we go after him?" 17 asked, joining his sister, staring at the Saiyan male who carried Misako, "we can kill him and the little brat."
18 snickered. "No. I think Trunks would be surprised to see that his wife had left him."
...
Korado held the unconscious child in his arms, looking down, and stroked her cheek gently. Misako was still warm, so that was a sign she was alive still. As he flew, he looked down and spotted Hanako's dead body on the ground, her clothes all tattered and destroyed and cut all over her body.
'Thank you, Hanako-chan. You fought bravely to the end.' he thought to himself, a single tear rolled down his cheek, flying to the direction of Chi Chi's house, not ready to reveal himself to Trunks yet, even though Bulma had met him just once and was rather quite surprised by his existence.
...
"Mom. Has Hanako and Misako come back yet? It's been an hour since they left," Trunks said, walking to his mother and noticing her typing away on her computer with a cup of coffee on the coaster. He'd return from checking the time machine, that'll take him and Misako to the past as promised.
Originally, Hanako wanted to go, but seeing what had happened between Mamoru, Endymion, and Usagi affecting time, she decided against it and would go with Trunks some other time, and warned him not to mess with anything in the past, or else face the wrath of Sailor Pluto herself, to which Trunks took a note to that.
Bulma stopped, her fingers resting on the keyboard when Trunks asked her about her daughter-in-law and granddaughter. Now that he had mentioned it, an hour did pass since the girls left and didn't return. Her stomach dropped, fearing the worst. She turned towards him, forgetting about improving the time machine for a brief moment.
"They both went to visit Chi-Chi, and you're right. It has been an hour. They're never late like this and Hanako and Misako are always on time if it gets too rough," she theorized, swallowing a lump in her throat. She wanted to tell Trunks about Korado, but she feared that due to his growing paranoia and stress, he probably wouldn't trust him and watch him cautiously and would do everything in his power to protect his only daughter.
Trunks scowled, his eyebrows scrunched up as an image of both Hanako and Misako fighting the Androids came into mind. Something's not right.
"I have a feeling that they both went to fight the Androids on their own. Hanako shouldn't have gone out there by herself!" He shouted, clenching his fists, and he grabbed his sword from behind the table. "I'm going to find them."
"Bring them back safely, son," Bulma said, walking towards him and resting a hand on his shoulder, squeezing it gently. "I'll contact Minako-chan."
Trunks nodded and hummed in agreement, as he rushed out of the house and took off flying in the air. He silently prayed to find his wife and his daughter, both alive and safe. As for Bulma, however, the older woman wasn't sure how would Minako react to the death of her younger twin sister. The girl had meant a lot to her, despite their differences in hobbies and interests. She looked down, and a single tear escaped her eye, but she quickly wiped it away and went back to her computer to contact Minako, giving the younger girl updates about the Androids and what they have done to her sister.
...
The sky was tar-black, and large gray clouds covered the dome of plasma-blue and the large glowing orb that made the day a picture-perfect afternoon. Trunks flew all over West City, piercing blue eyes scouring the ground below, searching for his daughter and wife who'd been missing for at least an hour now. He once again looked at his watch, and it appeared to be an hour and a half later since their disappearance.
He gritted his teeth, as the thunder started to rumble in the heavens and heavy drops of rain spilled out from the sky. While he's aware that Hanako and Misako could handle themselves, fighting the Androids had always been nothing but a challenge and he wishes that he and his family could live in such peaceful times. This isn't fair!
After what seemed like forever, Trunks stood in midair when he spotted someone lying on the ground, dead. His eyes widened once he made out the person to be Hanako, his wife. The woman was a tattered mess; her once beautiful ruby red hair spread out on the ground and her eyes closed with her left arm spread across her body. Her beautiful, peach dress was torn and ripped, the fabric covered in her blood as it spilled out from her. Thanks to those Androids, she even received cuts and bruises on her beautiful skin.
Droplets of rain came down heavily, washing away the blood. Trunks landed on the ground, his eyes fixated on the sight of his wife's dead body.
"Oh, gosh… no," Trunks whispered, his feet touching the ground, soaked with blood. He swallowed, walking towards her as he clenched his fists and tears streamed down his face, trying to process that she's dead and without the Dragon Balls, she can't be wished back to life and would now be a single father, raising Misako on his own. "Why did you have to do it? I told you…n-not t-to g-go o-out h-here b-but…"
Sitting on a rock, Android 18 scoffs at the sight of him, her legs crossed while twirling her hair. She finds it hilarious that this man is grieving over the loss of his wife, but never once asked about the whereabouts of his daughter.
"Pathetic. She shouldn't have gotten in the way of protecting that little brat of yours," she replied coldly, narrowing her eyes at the man, but remaining unfazed with his grieving. "And speaking of which, I'd seen her in the arms of another Saiyan."
Trunks glowered his gaze; his expression hardened as he clenched his fists, turning away from Hanako's body while standing in front of it. Another Saiyan? How's this possible?
"We would kill that brat, but he had gotten in the away. Powerful, yes, but could've gotten your daughter killed if he intervened himself," 17 responded just as coldly.
"You…bastards!" Trunks cursed, transforming into a Super Saiyan and lunging forward at them, but even with this newfound power, they were still too strong to defeat him. Seeing Hanako laying on the ground, memories flashed before his eyes, as he remembered the day he discovered Gohan in the same way after they had ganged up on him in the rain, and Trunks thought he would be alone forever; until he had met Hanako for the first time.
Growing tired, his hair quickly turned back into a light purple and he was knocked onto the ground, not too far from Hanako's body. Using what little strength he had left, Trunks angrily slammed his fists on the ground, as he gritted his teeth while keeping his eyes fixated on Hanako's body. He couldn't be with her in her last moments to protect her, and her death would've been preventable if he'd shown up on time. He'd failed.
What would Minako think? She would most likely blame the Androids for her sister's death, no doubt about it, and she would try to kill them herself, with whatever weapons she had in her hands until they too kill her. He couldn't let another member of his family die not now, nor ever.
"Do you think we should finish him here, 17?" 18 asked cockily, aiming her hand at the boy, who in turn only scrambled to his feet, clenching his fists and glaring at the monsters.
"No. I think it's best we finish for now and look for more people to destroy," 17 answered.
18 rolled her eyes. "Alright, whatever. We'll finish him and then get that little brat of his next time."
Trunks watched them leave, and he wished that he could've killed them right here, right now, but upon seeing his dead wife's body again, his heart sank at the sight of her as his expression deepened, walking toward her, crouching down low and picking Hanako up in his arms and took off flying in the air to Capsule Corp. Why her? Why would they even murder her without letting him come on time?
Her death will now not only haunt him for the rest of his life, but it will haunt Misako, Bulma, and even Minako and the other Sailor Guardians. No doubt they'll ask him to join and fight alongside him, but Hanako would always be his partner, no matter what. When they finally arrived, he spotted his mother out of Capsule Corp, alongside Sailor Venus, also known as Minako Aino. Upon seeing her sister lying in Trunks' arms, Minako covered her mouth in shock and horror, as it was now her turn to cry. She rushed over to them, and tears cascaded down her pale cheeks, droplets landing on Hanako's dress, squeezing her hand.
"I'm so sorry, Hanako-chan. I wasn't there to protect you," she sobbed heavily, kissing the back of her palm.
...
She stood on the balcony, her eyes gazing at the beautiful city of Crystal Tokyo. Her red hair billowed in the light breeze, and her blue eyes glossed with tears. The family all had decided to go to Crystal Tokyo for Hanako's funeral, and it was beautiful but sad. Her mommy wore a clean and fresh white dress that reached midway to her ankles and a purple waist belt attached to it, white frilly socks, and a pair of white flats with ribbons on them.
Her hair was curled to perfection, and an iris brooch pin was attached to the left side of her hair. Her lips were red as a rose, her eyes were covered with light purple eyeshadow and she wore frilly, transparent gloves on her hands. Not a dry eye could be seen, as the little girl stood next to her grief-stricken and heartbroken father, as they watched the casket lowered to the ground.
The one who cried more than anyone else, even Usagi, was Minako Aino herself. She couldn't believe that her sister was taken away from her by those two heartless Androids and nearly fainted at the sight of Hanako's dead body, and Rei was the one who'd caught her before she could hit the ground.
What puzzled her the most is that Trunks didn't speak a word at the funeral, as he protectively held her hand tightly, and even if she did, he was quick to remind her by a tug on her hand and a hard glare on her, silently reminding her not to move from where they stood, and Misako obeyed.
"Misako-chan," a voice called out, and the child whirled around, quickly spotting her father joining her. She sensed the tone in his voice was still heartbroken, angry, and even distant. "You shouldn't be out here on your own. What if they find you here?"
"Aunt Minako says that I can come out here, to think. Am I in trouble, daddy?" she innocently asked, her tail moving around as she fiddled her fingers, shyly gazing up at him. She bit her lip, afraid that she had done anything else wrong to upset him. "I-I'll go back inside; if that's what you want?"
Trunks lowered his gaze at her harshly, when he learned that Minako had told her she could go out on her own. He recalled the conversation he had with the Androids, about her being in the arms of a Saiyan boy and that got him on edge. He clenched his fists for what it seemed like the third time, and blood boiled inside of him.
"Yes, you are in a whole lot of trouble, young lady. I've learned that not only you have disrespected me on numerous occasions but you've lied to me as well about that Korado boy you've been hanging out with and training in secret with him alongside Chibiusa without even asking me or your mother!" he shouted angrily, his voice booming around them until he noticed Misako cowardly grabbing her tail and began to play with it, "Chi-Chi even took him in as her own, and I didn't know about him?! From now on, you're hereby banned from training and ever seeing that… Korado ever again. You're staying here with Aunt Minako until the time machine is ready. Do I make myself clear?"
Misako didn't think this wasn't fair, because it wasn't. How will she improve as a Saiyan and a Sailor Guardian if she doesn't train?
"But, daddy-" Misako protested, until she received a glare from her father.
"I mean it. Let's go inside where I'll discuss your punishment," Trunks replied coldly, grabbing her hand and leading her inside the Palace of Crystal Tokyo.
Unknowingly as he walked back in with Misako, holding her hand, she looked down and a tear rolled down her cheek, and mumbling out the words to her friend, her hand close to her heart:
"I'm sorry, Korado-chan," she whispered.
...
