I do not own the Prankster King of Konoha, Kishimoto created him.
Chapter 1
"Hehe. They won't know what hit them," said a red-haired boy. He had purple eyes and was in an orange and blue jumpsuit. He had 3 whiskers on each cheek. This boy was Uzumaki Naruto. Strapped to a rope, he was dangling from one of the Yondaime Hokage's hair spikes. On each of the Hokage's faces was graffiti. The 12-year-old prankster turned to the front gates of Konohagakure no Sato as the sun began to rise. Naruto sat there, until he had to close his eyes from the glare. His mind calmed, and the usually excitable redhead was quiet for once. Suddenly, everything changed. He could see, however it was only black and white and his peripheral vision seemed to be blinded. However, he could move his "eye" nearly a mile from where he was. He could see the chakra of everyone getting up. They were like little blue fires, suddenly he began to feel something darker. He felt his sight getting damper. Was he tearing up? When was the last time he cried? Six, seven years ago? Why all of a sudden was he tearing up? But before Naruto could ponder that anymore, he began to hear what he was waiting for. He opened his eyes and felt his "mind's eye" closing.
"NARUTO!" yelled a shinobi in an animal mask and metal gear. These were known as the ANBU Black Ops, the elite assassins of Konoha. There was an entire battalion of them running at Naruto.
"AHAHAHA!" laughed the Uzumaki, "YOU'LL NEVER CATCH ME ALIVE!" he yelled.
Naruto disconnected himself from the rope and he fell to the roofs below. Landing on top of Hokage tower, he made a b line for the marketing district. He ran through town with his paint bucket in his hand. The ANBU were on his tail on the nearby roofs. Turning right into an alleyway. He dodged any obstacles that got in his way as if he memorized the route. In reality he had, he had set up his most full-proof trap to date. The ANBU were a mere 10 feet behind him. Coming up on ninja wire, Naruto grabbed a kunai from his pouch and cut the wire. The ANBU kept chasing him, and 5 seconds after cutting it, a volley of smoke bombs exploded, blocking the ANBU's sight.
"Aauurgh!" came from nearly every ANBU. When the smoke cleared Naruto was looking at a masterpiece.
"Now that is art!" yelled Naruto.
Somewhere in a hideout far, far, away…
"BAKUHATSU!" yelled a long-blonde haired man.
"OI! DEIDARA! YOU JUST BLEW MY HEAD OFF! THE FUCK WAS THAT FOR!" yelled a head on the ground with slicked back, silver hair.
"Someone has discovered the beauty of art," said Deidara, speaking in his best civilized voice.
Back in Konoha
All the ANBU were covered in bright-colored paints, and most were in a net trap. Naruto stared down at his abstract with stars in his eyes.
'Oh smoke bombs, how I love thee,' he thought, "Well! Gotta go!" he said to the ANBU with a foxy grin on his face.
…
Naruto made it back to the Hokage Monument to admire his work.
"All this work for nothing," he said, sighing, "I'm gonna have to wash it later and they won't even let me take a picture."
"NARUTO! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!" yelled a chunin. He had brown hair in a ponytail and a scar across his nose.
"AAAHH! IRUKA-SENSEI" screamed the Uzumaki in fear and surprise. The red-haired Uzumaki jumped back in fright. Unfortunately, Naruto was at the edge of the Yondaime's spiky hair, so he tripped on the Yondaime's head and hit his head on the rock, causing him to begin to bleed. He blacked out and his body bounced of the edge of the monument
'SHIT!' thought Iruka. He attempted to grab his student's hand but it was already too late. Naruto regained consciousness only to look into his mentor's teary eyes. He reached his hand out for help, trying to grab his teacher, no, his big brother's hand.
'Help me… somebody,' thought Naruto hopelessly.
Before Naruto hit the ground, he felt blood rushing to his head. Soon enough, it felt as though he was losing all the blood in his head. . Naruto was amazed at what he saw. Blood was flying up to the Yondaime's head. The blood punctured through the sculpture and Naruto stopped. He was facing the ground and couldn't see the blood anymore. He looked behind him to try and find where the blood had come from and his eyes widened. He had somehow controlled the blood from his injury to save him! He looked up to Iruka-sensei who had the same amazed look on his face as him. He then smiled at his chunin instructor and waved.
"HEY! IRUKA-SENSEI! I'M OKAY!" he yelled at the top of his lungs.
'Thank kami,' thought Iruka.
Jumping down from the monument, Iruka landed just under Naruto who had been a mere 6 feet from hitting the ground.
"Now, let go. We need to get to the Academy," Iruka said.
"Uhm, sensei? How do I do that?" asked a confused Naruto.
Iruka face palmed, "You don't know how get down?" he asked.
"I just found out I knew how to do, whatever this is!" the Uzumaki yelled.
"Okay, uhm. How did you do that in the first place?" asked Iruka. It was then he noticed his student's eyes. The sclera of his eyes was blood red in color as if all the veins in his eyes had decided to burst. His Irises were black, a stark difference from their normally vibrant violet color. Finally his pupils were rectangular in shape and were a purple in color, which seemed to be the only normal remaining color from his regular eyes.
"Well, I asked for help in my head…" started Naruto.
"So try and tell it to drop you or something," stated Iruka, trying to forget the boy's eyes for the time being.
"Uhh, okay," responded Naruto. He scrunched up his face, attempting to get them to retract, 'Come on! Drop me!' he thought. Breathing out, he looked at his sensei, "Uhm, that didn't work," he said.
"Okay, well how were you feeling?" Iruka asked, "When you were falling."
Naruto contemplated for a second, "Well, I guess I felt hopeless, maybe scared… OH! And that reminds me. When I was watching the sunrise, I felt calm and closed my eyes! And a few seconds later, BOOM! I could see or sense, I don't know which one! But like! I could see chakra from nearly a mile away! But it felt like I was feeling their chakra and feelings so I was probably sensing them!" Naruto said.
Iruka was flabbergasted. Not only does Naruto have some sort of dojutsu, but can sense chakra so well he could see it?
"Uhm, Wow! Naruto… this just got a lot more complicated. So just find a way to get loose while I talk with Hokage-sama," said Iruka as he shunshined away
Naruto stared at the spot his sensei was for several seconds with his eye twitching, "SENSEIIIII!"
…
"HOKAGE-SAMA!" yelled Iruka as he burst into the room. He saw the Hokage quickly put away a book and look towards him.
"What is it, Iruka-kun?" asked Sarutobi Hiruzen, the reinstated Sandaime Hokage.
"It's Naruto-" started Iruka.
"I saw the graffiti, we'll have him clean it after the Academy," said Sarutobi.
"I-it's not that. He's showing these abilities…" said Iruka.
"What do you mean, abilities?" asked the Hokage seriously.
"Well he told me earlier that when he was watching the sunrise, he closed his eyes and was calm. He said he began to see everything in black and white, but he never opened his eyes. He began to sense so well that he could see people's chakra from nearly a mile away!" explained Iruka.
The Hokage's jaw dropped along with the pipe he was smoking. He swallowed in nervousness at the other ability, "And the second?" he asked.
Iruka looked sheepishly at the Hokage, "For that one, I think it'd be better for you to come see for yourself," he said.
…
CLANG!
"MY SWORD!" yelled an ANBU.
The ANBU had arrived to see Naruto stuck with the blood from his head holding him off the ground. None of them knew the jutsu, so they didn't know how to help the boy stop the blood from holding him. Eventually one ANBU got tired and started trying to chop through the blood, however that only resulted in a shield of blood extending from the "blood ropes" and being strong enough to break the tanto.
"DAMMIT THAT WAS MY FAVORITE ONE!" cried the ANBU.
"Hehe, uh sorry," responded Naruto.
"N-Naruto?" asked a stuttering Hokage who had just arrived at the scene.
"Oh hey Jiji!" said Naruto.
"H-how did you do that?" asked Sarutobi.
"You think I know?!" screamed Naruto, flailing about.
Sarutobi noticed Naruto's eyes and his eyes widened, 'So he's awakened it!' he thought, "Alright Naruto, do you know how to channel chakra?"
Naruto's eyes twitched, "Jiji, I can't even do a bunshin (clone) and you think I'll be able to channel chakra?"
Hiruzen sighed, "Alright Naruto, I need you to get into a meditative state. Once you've done that, you will probably feel some chakra gathered in your eyes. I need you to channel and disperse that chakra away from your eyes. If that doesn't work, that not only means that this goes far beyond what I expected from this but it also means that you will need to calm yourself, and command the blood," the Shinobi no Kami explained.
Naruto looked pensive at his grandfather figure, "Alright jiji, I trust you," he said.
Naruto closed his eyes and once again his vision turned to black and white. He was able to see chakra and sense it all around him. He then noticed that he could sense the gathered chakra around his eyes. Slowly but surely, the chakra began to disperse. However, just like Sarutobi said could've happened, Naruto was still suspended in midair by the blood. He calmed himself and tried to command the blood. He finally felt himself jolt and a few seconds later he softly hit the ground. He opened his eyes to see Jiji, Iruka-sensei, and the ANBU looking at him with surprise.
He smiled and laughed, "Hehe, I did it!" he said happily.
"Well actually, Naruto, you're still doing it," said Iruka, chuckling.
Naruto looked up only to see the blood flowing back to where it had come from slower than he had hoped.
"AW COME ON! HURRY UP!" he yelled at the blood as everyone else sweatdropped.
Sarutobi shook his head at Naruto, "Naruto, in time you will be able to control the sand with ease. But for now, I want you and Iruka in my office," he said.
Iruka cringed, "Hokage-sama, I do have a class to get back to so if you could, please make it as quick as possible," he pleaded.
"Of course Iruka," said the Hokage with understanding, "Now, let's get a move on, don't want to keep you two waiting.
"What? So I just have these two new amazing powers and that's all? No reaction?!" SERIOUSLY?!" he whined at his retreating family-figures. He turned his head when he heard the ANBU chuckling at him. He growled and pointed to the one with the broken sword, "I'm not getting you a sword."
Naruto ran as fast as he could as the ANBU were holding their comrade back from tearing the redhead to shreds.
…
"Naruto, Iruka, I hope you understand why you are here," said the aged Hokage.
"I assume it's to talk about Naruto's power," said Iruka.
"Yes, Iruka. It is to talk about Naruto's bloodline and heritage," explained the Hokage as he looked at Naruto who had become pale as soon as he heard they were talking about his parents.
"Jiji, you mean, like, m-m-my parents?" asked the stunned Academy student.
Sarutobi nodded sadly at his surrogate grandson, "Yes, Naruto, I do."
"B-b-but y-you said you didn't kn-know who they w-were," he stuttered out.
"Naruto, you have to understand me. Your parents were very powerful shinobi. If people knew you were their son, you would have not one but possibly two of the Great Hidden Villages after your head," explained the Sandaime.
"Wh-what?!" exclaimed both Iruka and Naruto.
Naruto swallowed and in a choked voice he asked, "W-who were they Jiji. I need to know. I don't know if I can stand the pressure anymore," said Naruto as he began to tear up.
Hiruzen smiled and stood up. He walked towards a cupboard at one side of his room and opened the door. Taking out a scroll and a box, he walked over to Naruto and handed it to him. Naruto set down everything on the floor. Naruto tried to open the scroll but found that he couldn't.
"Apply your blood to the seal," ordered the Hokage.
Naruto nodded and when he applied the blood, the scroll unraveled. It read Uzumaki and Namikaze Bloodlines and Techniques. Naruto's eyes widened at the implications of that last name. He looked into the box and took a deep breath. He opened the box and his breath got caught in his throat. For you see, in the box was the robe of the Yondaime Hokage, the greatest Hokage Konoha had ever produced, and the man who took down the Kyuubi no Kitsune. Naruto began to cry as he looked at the coat. Not wanting to see his family like this, he wiped away the tears and picked up the coat. Putting it on, he faced his brother and grandfather and asked, "How do I look?"
Naruto took both Hiruzen and Iruka's breath away. Change the hair and eye color and Naruto was a perfect replica of Namikaze Minato. Hiruzen smiled at the redhead and nodded, "Just like Minato. However, I believe you missed the rest of the box, he said pointing to the box in which the Yondaime's cloak was just in. Naruto looked back at the box and his eyes widened. There was a 9-count collection of the Hiraishin kunai, as well as three other objects Naruto didn't recognize from the History books. There was a black konoha headband. The mount was a matte black, while the Konoha symbol was a blood red. There was also a Kitsune ANBU mask. It had three red stripes on each cheek while there were purple rings surrounding the eyes. The final object was another scroll, but this one was red with an Uzumaki symbol, and the seal for "Red Death" written on it.
"Those three other objects belonged to your mother, the Red Death of Konoha. She along with your father became known and feared across many Shinobi nations. That is a special headband made especially for her, and that was her ANBU mask whilst surviving as a captain in the ANBU. That scroll has her special techniques that she only passes down to people who she thinks deserve it, as well as something that will help you with your urm, blood-bloodline. She too had it, and called it the Ketsuryugan. It was a doujutsu from a separate clan in Uzushiogakure, the village from which your mother originated. She was half Uzumaki, and half of the other clan. I am not sure of the name, but I'm sure it is in there. Go ahead and open it," said Sarutobi.
Naruto grabbed the scroll and unsealed it. What appeared from the smoke was the unraveled scroll full of techniques, as well as a peanut shaped box. It was made of a very light but sturdy material and was black in color. It had a brown strap to go across the body, similar to a backpack, except this only had one strap. Naruto looked confusedly at the box and looked up to the Hokage for help. Sarutobi chuckled at Naruto and began to explain.
"This is where Kushina would store all the blood she used for battle, after all, she couldn't be using up all the blood that you did during a fight," he said.
Naruto just made a pouty face at the Hokage before looking back at the technique scroll. Looking at the text, it read:
Techniques of the most badass kunoichi in Konoha, The Red Death, Uzumaki Kushina
He smiled at the title, as it looked like something he would write. He unraveled the scroll further to look at every technique.
"Naruto, this scroll has only been shared with your father and one other person. Nobody else knows these techniques so you will be the only one in Konoha who can use them," explained the Hokage.
Naruto stood up with an excited look on his face, "REALLY! THAT'S SO COOL-TTEBAYO!" he exclaimed.
Kushina's headband dropped from his pocket and hit the floor. Naruto picked it up and looked at it. Looking back to Iruka and Hiruzen he looked at them with a sad look on his face.
"What am I going to do with this? I can't even do a Bunshin so I can't even pass the Graduation test," he explained.
The Hokage's only response was to smile, "There is something in that scroll that might help you. Your mother had the same amount of chakra at your age and just like you she had problems with chakra control and creating bunshins. But look at that later because if I'm not wrong you and Iruka-kun need to get back to class," he said, chuckling.
"Hey, what about my other bloodline?!" Naruto asked.
"Yes, not much is known about that, but I believe it is called the Mind's Eye of the Kagura. If anything, it will be in the Uzumaki techniques. But you do need to get going so no more stalling," said Sarutobi.
"Wasn't really stalling," muttered Naruto as he walked towards the door.
"Naruto,"
"Huh?"
"As I said before, your father and mother had many enemies, so if you don't mind, put the coat back. Nobody can know about your heritage. And about your bloodlines, be careful about that. People will definitely find out, but just be careful," responded Sarutobi.
"Oh, right," said Naruto, slightly dejected he couldn't brag about his family. He thought maybe if she knew, Sakura-chan would go out with him, "It was getting hot anyway in all this clothing," he said, shaking his jumpsuit to let air in.
"Naruto, why do you still wear that jumpsuit? It won't help you after graduation, you do know that, right?" asked Iruka.
"Huh? What are you talking about Iruka-sensei? Orange is a great color! Plus, it's a good jumpsuit!" he said, trying to defend his choice of clothing. However, he could not stop the somber look on his face.
Iruka saw this and sighed, "Naruto, meet with me after class. We're going to go somewhere to help you," he said, placing his hand on his little brother's shoulder, "Now let's get going," he said, dragging Naruto.
"One more thing," said the Hokage. Walking up to Naruto, he handed the boy a picture, "I figured you might want this," he said.
Naruto looked at the picture and began to tear up. It was of his mother and father, taking a picture with Kushina holding up her special headband. His father was in his Hokage robes and jonin outfit, while Kushina had on her ANBU gear with a bright smile on her face. He looked back at the Hokage and launched himself at him, wrapping him in a hug. After a few seconds, he let go and strided out the door with Iruka, finally getting to the Academy.
…
Iruka and Naruto walked into the classroom with everyone staring at them. Naruto scratched the back of his head sheepishly while Iruka just sighed and shook his head. Naruto put his hand down, only to find it was stained by the excess blood from his wound. He shook his hand violently and the blood fell to the floor.
"Alright class, because of Naruto's, urm, activities, I made it here late. I hope Mizuki-sensei was able to teach what I wasn't able to while I was off taking care of our little prankster," explained Iruka, sending a side glance to Naruto who stuck his tongue out at his teacher.
"Now, because of this, we will all be going over the Henge-no-Jutsu!" he said.
"AAAAAWW!" cried the class.
Suddenly a mass amount of killing intent was focused on Naruto, making him sweat as he knew that killing intent more than anyone in Konoha.
"NARUTO! HOW DARE YOU!" screamed a pink-haired banshee.
"Nonono! Sakura-chan, you don't understand!" said Naruto, trying to diffuse the situation, however it seemed it would end like every other time Sakura got annoyed with him.
"THE HELL DON'T I UNDERSTAND ABOUT YOU PAINTING ON THE HOKAGE MONUMENT! SHANNOR-" yelled Sakura, attempting to hit Naruto, however she was stopped dead in her tracks.
Naruto had closed his eyes and braced for impact by holding up his arms, however the pain that usually resulted from one of Sakura's punches never came. He slowly opened his eyes, only for them to snap open when he realized what had stopped Sakura. His face paled as he saw the blood from earlier had created a shield, blocking Sakura's fist from impacting the redhead. He looked over to Iruka who had also gone white as a sheet.
'Shit," thought the chunin.
Sakura, however, had turned a burning red. After snapping out of her shock, she continued to punch, trying to reach Naruto. Naruto just stood there, not trying to do anything. Not trying to walk away, and not trying to stop her.
'Why, dammit, why me?' he thought.
After several more swings, Sakura had tired herself out, and hand turned away. The shield dropped, not sensing any threat to its master. However, that was the wrong move, because as soon as Sakura saw Naruto, or whatever controlled the blood, had let their guard down, she went for a final punch. Unfortunately, this got passed the blood and was headed straight for the Uzumaki's face. Just before she hit the boy who was in love with her hand was grabbed by someone else. She turned and her emerald eyes met onyx. She began to blush as she looked into the eyes she knew so well.
"S-Sasuke-kun?" she asked.
The only thing she got in response was a cold glare from the Uchiha prodigy as he narrowed his eyes at her, "You're annoying," he said coldly.
Sakura's world was shattered as she dropped her arm and began to tear up. She walked back to her desk in silence as all the students, Iruka, and Mizuki looked at the exchange that had just happened. He looked at his red-haired student and frowned. He knew how much he cared for the pink-haired kunoichi, but it pained him to have to see the way she treated him. He knew every time he got back up and smiled, it was fake. It was held only until she had turned away from him. Sasuke stared at his catatonic classmate, as all he did was stare straight ahead. Sasuke tapped Naruto's shoulder, snapping Naruto out of the daze he was in. Naruto looked at him, then to Sakura, to the drop of blood, then back to Sasuke.
Sasuke sighed, "You owe me," he said, smirking.
Naruto groaned and rolled his eyes, but knew Sasuke was right. He would've gotten punched halfway across the room if it hadn't been for him. However, Naruto never went on his word, and he knew the perfect way to repay. Sasuke and Naruto walked back to their normal seats, Sasuke next to the window, and Naruto next to him, being a sort of fangirl repellent. When they sat down, Naruto bit his thumb, and rubbed the blood in between where he and Sasuke sat.
"The hell dobe?" asked Sasuke.
"You saw the shield. This'll stop any fangirl from trying to touch you. Like the one from yesterday who was playing with your hair, or the one from two weeks ago who attempted to rap- I mean who tackled you. So pipe down duck-butt was this is my way of repaying you," said Naruto.
He turned to Sasuke and sweatdropped, "Are you… crying?" asked Naruto.
"N-no," said Sasuke, turning away so he could wipe his happy tears away, "shut up, tomato-head."
The two academy students sniffed at each other and turned their heads away, making everyone else in the room sweatdrop. Iruka just looked at his two students and shook his head. Now he could finally move on to his lecture that no one paid any attention to.
"Alright class…"
