This takes place about a month after the first Mass Effect, after defeating Sovereign. I wanted a little bit of closure after Ilos. I think the fact that it was a life or death situation would make Kaidan wonder if he was just a port in the storm. It also deals with sexual tension and Kaidan struggling to remain professional after a long tedious month of not seeing Shepard.

When a pair of twin brothers from 2013 find themselves transported into another dimension and in a familiar universe, will they stand to and find a way home or help take down the evil. No one is without fear, not really. We can pretend all we want, but at the end of the day, inside ourselves we know. Shepard is no different.

It's New Years on the Normandy, and Jack is hating every minute of it. To her, it's just another crappy year, and she's welcoming it alone. Why the hell did Shepard have to make her feel again?

So the prospect of not being here at some future date is simply not a matter of concern for him; there is nothing he could do about it anyway. It is just how it is, just as what now is is what is. Just part of the ever-changing nature of reality. He will do anything to do what must be done in order to escape the pain, and so evil vs. good it is. *cue evil laugh*

Humanity makes first contact with batarians. Aided by batarian separatists, they are able to rise on a galactic scale. With a new war breaking out, a resurgent krogan empire and humanity make war, and a combined human-turian task force makes a startling discovery that could tilt the balance of the galaxy.

The victorious king returns home from war, to find a broken home, and usurpers at his door. Post ME3.

However, for Councilor Kaidan Alenko the promises of a new and better future lack from any real meaning and hope. However, the answer he seeks may not be so out of his reach.

Kaidan asks Shepard for forgiveness, but is she ready to forgive him for the things he said on Horizon and Mars? She has her doubts and struggles with the decision. Rated M for stuff that might happen in the future.

(Post-game) War is over. The team is now scattered all across the galaxy. Shepard invites her friends to her place for their first Christmas gathering, starting a tradition of their own. We are all invited.
