"DIANE... DIANE! I DON'T KNOW- HOW TO DRIVE THIS THING- WHY DID YOU PUT ME IN CHARGE OF YOUR FAVOURITE RIDE?" Wolf was in a panic as he found himself zipping out of the garage late at night, the bike seemingly guiding itself as he struggled to hang on all the while Foxington slipped a helmet around his head to make sure her lover would be secure.
"Hey, you! Yes, you! Get over here!" Foxington points directly towards you at this time before switching her focus to Wolf. "That, ladies and gentlemen, is the love of my life known as Mr. Wolf. Mr. Wolf here has recently gotten out of prison and with his first day of freedom, Professor Marmalade has attempted to sneak out of his own enclosure whilst using the press to his advantage and in the hopes of not being caught. Unfortunately for him, I happen to be the governor, he happens to have an awesome group of friends who have recently broken free from the crime industry and guinea pigs are notorious for leaving crumbs of their food behind..." Diane finally slipped on her own helmet with her black suit glowing underneath the radiant glow of the suburban street lamps all the while Wolf attempted to focus on wherever he was headed.
"Hey, that's my thing! I'm the king of fourth wall breaks around here!" Moe looked behind him whilst remaining rather irritated as Diane deadpanned.
"And you're about to be the king of breaking into walls in a minute," Foxington pouted all the while she pointed forward towards a house that was a mere few inches away from Wolf's muzzle.
"AAAAAH!" Wolf soon found his way around the handlebars and redirected himself back on the road, chuckling after the panic and desperation of the scenario had left his mind. "I also happen to be the king of learning fast and also being quite the robust driver... That's when I'm driving something with four wheels, at least~" Moe flipped down his visor all the while continuing his drive into the fog of the night alongside his vixen companion.
"Maybe if you learn to drive something that's two times less the hassle, you might end up being the world's most nimble wolf... I don't see you transforming this into a security briefcase and perhaps sliding under an armoured truck anytime soon but you seem to be taking quite the nice set of puppy steps for your first time driving a motorcycle," Of course, Foxington had found a way to further bolster Wolf's ego all the while they were on some quiet roads in an attempt to get into the city from their suburban residence.
"Why thank you, Governor Foxington. That's high praise coming from the former Crimson Paw as well as someone that's quite familiar with this vehicle. Then again, I guess I do have a knack for driving considering that was my main duty other than performing ludicrous heists and performing the most legendary heist of all when I stole your heart," Wolf raised his visor, winked whilst making Diane blush before continuing his cruise through the neighbourhood accompanied by whatever was playing on the jazz network at that time.
"Oh, stop!~" Foxington continued to feel her cheeks boil thanks to a rich blush covering her muzzle until she blinked twice and noticed they were about to crash into something hexagonal and red. "SERIOUSLY- STOP!"
*CRASH*
*BANG*
*TUMBLE*
"Oh, because there was a stop sign!" Wolf exclaimed whilst almost knocked out cold thanks to the fact they had crashed into the stop sign at relatively high speed. With Foxington's briefcase returning to its incognito form as it had slid across the floor, both of them took their time to stargaze all the while they were laid out on the asphalt. "You know what, I'm kinda glad that we crashed considering now we get to stare up at the sky and see all of the twinkling stars of California; at least those we can see if the lights aren't in the way," Moe slid to the side which is where he watched Diane already trying to recover from her position of being laid out on her back due to the crash.
"If there's a shooting star, maybe I'll wish for something such as this sly clooney to get up from his position on the floor and instead get his butt back on the briefcase bike!" Diane crawled over to Mr. Wolf and soon started helping him with ascending from the tarmac below. "On second thought..." Foxington inspected the state of her white briefcase, folding it outwards to see that there were some respectable gashes lining the side of the white paint which the bike possesses alongside some of the metal showing of this elaborate device.
"Haha! A shooting star! I wish to not drive the deathtrap that is your briefcase bike!" Wolf adorably pointed up towards the air as he was crouched down and ascending to his feet, which is when Diane simply lowered her ears through her black biker's helmet and walked over to the briefcase. "What? Disappointed that you're now suddenly in charge of driving us to our destination?"
"Nope, just a little disappointed and dismayed that you'd be so willing to wiggle yourself out of a learning opportunity, Mr. Poodleton," Diane teased Wolf with the name that had become associated with their introduction as she placed her paw around her hip and practically seduced him with her looks as she tossed the briefcase over. "Go on... What's there to lose? Your dignity was stripped of you when your pants were ripped off a year ago and you ended up in prison..." Foxington strutted over to Wolf whilst perking up her posture and leaning on his shoulder using her elbow, contorting her body a slight bit to further put the world on his shoulders.
Moe gazed up towards the twinkling stars that illuminated the cosmic blanket above him, contrasting against the darkness that he had become so accustomed to living inside of a prison and only looking out of the bars to see nothingness. Wolf then gazed up towards the half-moon of that night, took in a fresh breath of air and finally gazed into his lover's eyes with a mind filled with optimism.
"What's there to lose? I don't know, our heads?" He sarcastically joked and subsequently cracked up Foxington in the process. "As one lady once lamented a year ago... I was being a little too hard on myself and I think I need to start off the journey nice and slow instead of trying to own this like I do my car- which you technically own now thanks to purchasing it in your name," Moe pressed the button on the side which prompted the bike to unfold once more, this time sitting on the front of it with a gleam in his eye and the flame of confidence guiding his soul.
"I did more than merely buy that car, Wolfie. If your memory serves you right, you managed to con death out of your life alongside the lives of your crewmates with that grappling gun," Foxington stepped onto the back of the bike, wrapped her arms around Wolf's front and watched as he performed a slight burnout on the tarmac lining the newly-paved roads. "I did more than buy that car in your name, my love... I was the one who remade it simply from memory alone," Despite blushing, Wolf still found a way to twist the accelerator and soon found himself traversing on the road albeit this time in the hopes of escaping the residential area and instead looking towards the city.
"Well, I knew you were sentimental but I never knew you were that dedicated to myself and my crew... That's earned ya some serious respect!" Wolf playfully cooed, even shimmying around a little bit as he cleared his throat and headed for an intersection which would lead him towards a highway into the city. "Alright, it's time to put our game faces on. Webs is so good at her job to the point where they'd be privileged if she left early whilst automating her work for the evening. I'd need her with us so we can track Professor Marmalade's marks as we're heading to his location under the cloak of darkness."
"Cloak of darkness? What? Are we supervillains now? Why on earth does everything have some sort of metaphor attached to it?"
"I don't know, ask the author of this story. Anyways, we'll use the disguise of darkness to creep up on Marmalade who is presumably harnessing the power of the crystals to put together some super ultra mega frenzy experiment that'll freak out the city more than his return to his evil acts of villainy already have and he'll attempt to regain some sort of merit using his reputation," Wolf brought a claw to his chin and started using his elbows to casually drive the bike, something Foxington had never seen before as his plan came together in his head. "I know not all of the guys are up to the task but I'm hoping we can grab a location on Piranha. We need our muscle and our resident crazy person to complete this mission together. Considering we're on a bike, Webs and Piranha are somewhat small and we need to keep a low profile; this operation should be clean-cut and easier than taking jewellery from a rich mother's baby," Moe continued his drive all the while he placed his hood over his motorcycle helmet alongside his frivolous girlfriend to conceal their identity due to oncoming traffic ahead.
"And what if Marmalade isn't where we think he is collecting those crystals for his own experiment of evil, hm? We need a plan B here, babe!" Foxington rested part of her muzzle and subsequently her motorcycle helmet on Moe's broad shoulders as she continued to look on towards the gigantic skyline of Los Angeles which they were mere miles away from entering.
"First of all, that's adorable how you've called me babe for the first time instead of your partner in command or perhaps your commander in chief so I will take that and hold it dear to my heart. Second of all, if he isn't discovered at his former compound, we'll launch a private investigation to see if we can find any plans that were left behind or any trails slash missing clues of information and then we'll go about trying to trace that information and Marmalade's footsteps," Wolf overtook an oncoming car as the wondrous wind of the quiet night found itself seeping through the gaps in his visor. "That little guinea pig can be quite slippery and that's why we need surveillance on him at all times, perhaps surveillance that's less reliant on technology as he appears to be jamming it and moving quickly. It's not like we can trap this guinea pig in a cage, he's a scientist and knows how to avoid those things!"
"However, you must be wary of traps this time! We don't want ya accidentally stumbling against something shiny and mistaking it as something that can be touched. That slippery guinea pig is a fan of his traps and just in case that were to happen, I made sure to upgrade my latex suits throughout the past year to be resistant to electricity just so you don't end up getting zapped by an unsuspecting trap," Foxington started thinking about potential traps that could catch the oblivious wolf. "You should probably avoid anything with spikes, anything that looks suspicious, be cautious when observing footsteps or perhaps coming across plans or even a pen that might be poisonous to name a few things!" Diane's sarcastic underestimation of Moe's intelligence found him sighing as he continued to pass traffic whilst travelling on the highway.
"Diane! Honey! I know what a trap is, I've learned from my mistakes and I was educated appropriately when I spent time in prison! Besides, I bet that little shiny-furred rat won't see us coming. He thinks we've come into the spotlight and won't wish to step out of it, that we'll turn into sellouts when instead we can become mercenaries of positivity during the night whilst serving as nothing more than your common animals amongst people during the day," Wolf admittedly let his arrogance blind him to a slight degree as he shrugged off his assumptions that Professor Marmalade could've had a thought out plan encompassing his failures. "Besides, what's Marmalade going to do with a guy named Cuddles, anyways? As you said about my crew, this is just about a band of two washed-up-has-beens trying to reclaim the glory they were deprived of a year ago when their plan was deflected by none other than us; some of the greatest criminals the world has to offer were against a tiny guinea pig and his servant!"
"Pshht, I guess you have a point," Diane removed one of her hands from Wolf's waist and swung it to the left. "I think after his escape, he'd be more concerned about gathering up remnants of his experiment before trying to dodge the authorities. I already know that Chief Luggins is launching an investigation judging by the unusual amount of sirens I've been picking up on in the past few minutes but he won't be able to run away forever and we might be able to grab him in the act and BAM!" Foxington startled Moe whilst he was driving, causing the motorcycle to sway a bit. "We'll grab him by his tiny whiskers and imprison him for his evil deeds!" Diane gazed at her suburban neighbourhood from afar one last time, recognising that this quest may take a while.
"You really do get excited when you're talking about your schemes, don't you? I guess that tricky fox never disappeared, did it?"
"More like the Crimson Paw went into hiding... Now put those driving skills to good use, I believe we have an eight-legged associate to rescue from a software engineering job!" Foxington sternly slapped Moe's upper back and they soon both sped off into the night, remaining nothing more than another shadowy blur the drivers of the highway would've witnessed when casually driving into the city for their unrelenting night shifts.
As the residential regions of Los Angeles faded into the mist of the night behind them, their journey illuminated by the moonlight alongside lamp post radiating with a glow which was intensely bright, Mr. Wolf and Diane Foxington made their way deeper into the city all the while Moe continued to tackle his fear of riding a motorcycle. As the highway became filled with cars that were trickling into the city for people exiting their late shifts and people moving into their night shifts, Mr. Wolf took a detour by riding onto the pavement in the hopes of manoeuvring through alleyways and towards the massive skyscraper in which Ms. Tarantula worked in.
Their ears were soon enlightened by the songs of the night life alongside that mystical feeling of discovering a society distant from their own as the only bright lights illuminating their pathway through the alleyways other than lamp posts and lanterns were the eccentric neon glows from nightclubs and bars alike. The closer Moe and Diane got to spider's workplace, the more lively the city appeared to become as Wolf had no choice but to head onto the roads and pursue his destination legally as opposed to riding recklessly.
People questioned the figures blowing past them alongside the mystical white motorbike they were using as they walked along the sidewalks and saw it whizz by whilst in the back of taxis or perhaps using public transport late at night. Wolf would personally think of it as stepping into a world of its own considering he had rarely been to parties whilst the rest of his crew and Diane wouldn't be too mystified due to them being accustomed to this sort of lifestyle.
Yet, with the flowers of nighttime blossoming and the cosmos above them merely fading into the bleached skyline that was the city centre of L.A and the skyscraper reflecting the glow of the signs below and the moonlight held high in front of him, Mr Wolf had to briefly set aside his bewilderment to tend to the task at hand.
As he neared the skyscraper as well as the bottom floor, he received another call from Ms. Tarantula and realised he could see a red glow at the top of the skyscraper. Webs immediately hung up as Moe gained a sixth sense and seemingly knew what to from instinct. With Diane confused as to why Wolf had rode the bike up the beige ramp connecting the building to the side of the road, she soon gained her answer when Tarantula gracefully landed in front of them whilst using her laptop.
"Heya gang! Glad I could join you to disrupt the world's most ambitious redemption plan!" Ms. Tarantula crawled up Wolf's arm and eventually greeted Foxington. "Diane, I know it's you; I can tell by those eyes. You should be thankful you stopped working as the Crimson Paw before they upgraded their face recognition technology," Webs remarked as she soon hopped down in front of Wolf, pulled out her laptop and positioned it in front of her.
"Maybe someone with a special set of eyes gave me a heads up and that's why instead of stealing the Golden Dolphin, I merely left it in place-"
"Nope, Moe has told us all the story about you being the tricky fox that everyone thought you to be... Honestly, it's one of his favourite stories to tell and the way he talks about you is quite honestly adorable!" Webs was perpetually winding up Wolf as he felt himself grit his teeth from within the confines of his motorcycle helmet.
"Awh, Wolfie! You talk about me? How cute!" Foxington softly squeezed Moe in a serious and romantic gesture as he growled underneath his breath. "There's nothing to be ashamed of around here, we can all express our love and praise for one another, can't we?" Diane played the role of being a soppy damsel when she rested her head on Moe's shoulder once again and she soon found herself being confronted by his brown eyes.
"You really can't resist mocking me, even for a second, can you? Is it enjoyable to know that the big bad wolf isn't so bad after all and that he's a massive softy and do-gooder on the inside, hm? That your charm somehow melted away my ambitions to fill a hole in my heart with my materialistic ambitions in my attempt to grasp onto any sense of my reality, huh?" Foxington was instead blown away by how much untapped flirtatious potential Moe held at that moment as he flipped up his visor with a colossal smile plastering his muzzle. "Because I know you're enjoying every single second of being my partner in crime and pursuing this pig with your fancy schmancy technology that you happen to carry with you... Seriously, I used to think the things Webs carried in her purse was a little unnecessary-"
"What woman doesn't have a lipstick blow torch or a brush that can be used as a lethal weapon stored away in their purse or handbag? I think if you lack having that in your purse then you're lacking some femininity," Foxington tilted her head as Wolf merely sighed and shook his head. "Seriously, your first day out of prison and you're already technically on the side of the devious... If you're going to be living with me as opposed to theorising about it inside of those love letters of yours then you better get used to all of the whacky inventions I have as well as my strange sense of security," Foxington chirped as she soon flipped down her visor alongside Wolf and they were both greeted by Ms. Tarantula staring at them with an awestruck expression.
"You two are seriously psychopathic and also made for one another considering Wolfie here is and was the ringleader of one of the most devastating criminal factions in all of California and most of it happened to deal with showboating and terrorising the population... And I am such a fangirl of both of you! Like- oh my gosh! If I ever needed some coffee to wake me up in the morning- screw the coffee! I'm just going to wake up and listen to you talk in the morning because you two are sweet as sugar-"
"Webs..." Wolf attempted to interrupt her after something important popped onto her screen.
"Who needs reality TV or to perhaps think about the future when I've got the pair of you sweetly reminding me that the present is good enough! Maybe not everyone is destined for love and it's quite complicated but it's the classic story of deviousness... The full-on crook suddenly meeting the Governor and the enforcer of law-"
"Webs! This is an enlightening conversation and we appreciate your praise but something important is happening on your laptop and you've somehow forgotten to turn around during your charismatic haze of excitement!" Diane pointed with her claw to the screen and Tarantula soon gasped in response to what was on her screen.
"Alright, alright! My apologies! It's indicating that the CCTV jamming is becoming stronger towards the outskirts of the city, almost as if something is either tapping into the systems in the hopes of surveying the area or some disruption is causing it, most likely brought on by Marmalade and his proposed conquest... If the signal's getting stronger then that most likely means he has gained some sort of outside power source-"
"SUCH AS THE METEORITE! WE NEED TO GET THERE, NOW!" Wolf started performing a burnout on the pavement surrounding the building before Webs abruptly disabled the engine of his motorbike using some software on her computer.
"Not so fast, Wolfie! Aren't we forgetting our favourite, crazy and fanatical friend? Someone with a fin, is a mix of orange and green, kinda scaly and has an attitude that'll frighten us in an instant... Who can most likely cling onto this motorbike regardless of whether or not the entire gang was here?" Wolf looked towards Webs rather fluffy exterior with her black fluff mixing in with her orange and red fluff blowing thanks to the nightly breeze with his muzzle agape as he realised he was missing Piranha.
"Aha! We need to go and grab Piranha! But where on earth is that lunatic? Don't tell me he got in another bar fight that he's going to win but end up serving community service for..." Moe moped as his motorbike's engine roared back to life.
"Uhm... Who goes crazy over vending machines in their spare time and loves claw machines as well as winning prizes whilst usually spending the money made by the loot we sell? He's probably over in that massive arcade gambling away whatever savings he stashed before we were arrested and turned ourselves in!" Tarantula used the two of her front legs she had adapted for typing to point towards a massive arcade with a gigantic joystick alongside two celebratory confetti poppers on each side surrounded by vibrant neon colours.
"Wait, you all stashed money before getting arrested?" Foxington inquired before biting her tongue. "I'm not even going to ask how much you stashed but considering Piranha was dropped off at around 3 PM and he happens to still be here, I'm guessing that's somewhere in the thousands?"
"What are ya gonna do, Governor Foxington? Have us arrested for storing some money somewhere for us to claim when we're out of prison? Perhaps it's a minor felony to do that, especially with money that we stole in the past purely so we could have a fresh start when we earned our way out of prison without having all of the hassle of being broke but have you any mercy?" Foxington was given the puppy-eyes expression through the visor as she let off one massive huff.
"Usually, I would have you investigated and arrested again but considering you've served enough time and I know you're the only one who didn't store any money elsewhere and thus why you crashed with yours truly... You're going to get away with this unpunished and the same goes for your crew because it's hard to hide over a thousand dollars; especially if you're recently convicted criminals and there's a massive search to recover stolen goods," Foxington patted Wolf on the shoulder before gazing forth towards the distant arcade. "Well, what are we waiting for..? We've got your fish friend to rescue before he goes ahead and- y'know, gambles his life savings away?~" At that moment, Foxington and Wolf's goofing off came to an abrupt end as they raced along the sidewalks and soon found themselves confronted by the sounds of the relatively quiet arcade alongside the games being played from within.
Thanks to Ms. Tarantula's rather adaptable ability to tamper with electronic systems as well as issue warnings remotely, she found her way into the infrastructure of the arcade whilst striking Foxington with awe as they sat outside and her keyboard momentarily could be heard as the only sound the ear could perceive. After five seconds of typing, a massive flash followed by the internal lighting system going dim was seen from inside of the building and a minute later, Piranha emerged with a few of his winnings in tow within the grip of his fins.
"Hola, amigos! It's time to stop a crazy and vengeful guinea pig, right?" Piranha casually hopped on the front of the motorbike, sat back into where the steering mechanism for the motorbike and the body of the bike itself met and put up his feet a mere quarter-inch from Webs' laptop. Furthermore, he happened to be carrying a massive plush teddy which he used as a backrest as well as a makeshift seat belt by wrapping the arms around his front. "It's a shame you had to kill the power system of the machines and the lighting, Webs... You really couldn't let a man cash out all of his tickets? I had only spent a hundred dollars there and I was ready to go on for the entire night considering the place is open 24/7!"
"And what did I say about your gambling habit? If anything's open for twenty-four hours and for those seven days then it's designed to rip you off! I can order that teddy bear as well as all of those winnings for a fraction of the price!" Webs practically face planted into her laptop as she noticed another camera go down. "You know what, we'll discuss this later. Wolfie, Marmalade appears to be harnessing the remnants of the Love Crater Meteorite and most likely the trace amounts of electronic energy left behind to fuel his operation of scrambling and jamming the CCTV cameras in his area. It's most likely turned into a mission of disrupting everyone's way of life or perhaps news coverage, which might mean he has something big planned! I've got you a nice route that'll take you directly to his location whilst avoiding traffic and I need you to follow it whilst driving this bike... Who's up for some stunt jumps?" With Piranha wearing nothing more than a cheap suit he had bought mere moments before entering the arcade, Wolf and Foxington wearing their robbery attire and Tarantula wielding nothing more than a black and red bowtie, everyone except for Wolf unanimously agreed on cruising through the air at the expense of Mr. Wolf's sanity.
"Oh, come on, guys! I barely know how to drive a motorcycle, are you sure you want your lives in my hands? I can get pretty reckless and I'm sure the last thing you want is for your lives to end with us trying to catch up to Professor Marmalade and circumvent his plan for evil..." Wolf was reluctant to take the route which had been designated by the black, red and orange arachnid as everyone got giddy thanks to her proposition. "It seems crazy to take this route when we can just follow the roads!"
"Crazy you say, chico? You're speaking my language at long last! Come on, Wolf... You're a natural at driving, I'm sure you've got a plan for this!" Piranha seemed a little too insistent on trusting the canine with his own life.
"Come on, Wolfie, what's the worst that could happen?" Tarantula attempted to will him on as he revved the engine of the motorbike in mild nervousness.
"We could crash into another sign and I know we didn't die from that, we can afford to take some bumps and have some fun whilst trying to put a rest to the Crimson Paw," Foxington smiled beyond her visor, even winking despite Wolf being unable to see her gesture clearly.
"Guys... I don't know how I feel about this, I'm rusty when driving as I've been stuck in jail for a year and Diane here decided to stick me on a motorbike; are you sure?"
"You won't learn anything or recapture your glory as Los Angeles' most notorious driver and mode of transport by sitting around on the sofa!" Foxington insisted on Wolf going forth and he soon started chugging forward on the bike as Piranha grabbed hold of the laptop and started holding it for Webs' and Wolf's sake. "More speed, baby!"
"You're a bad influence, you know that, right?" With this singular remark, Wolf suddenly pulled back on the throttle of the bike and once again, the public were greeted to a blur passing them with the exception with some neon headlights from either side as he soon found himself jumping off one of the ramps leading down from the courtyard of the skyscraper in which Tarantula worked. "THIS WAS A HORRIBLE IDEA!" Wolf shrieked in horror, closing his eyes until he realised he had landed the jump with his friends and started weaving through traffic.
"Hey! Webs! We're missing some of that samba around here! Why not put on something fitting for our journey?"
"Like this?" Webs arrogantly smirked as she overrode the speaker system for the motorcycle and soon started playing "Good Tonight" which was recorded from Piranha singing it himself at the Gala for Goodness.
"ANYTHING BUT THIS!"
"Hey, why are you so ashamed about this? This is something I genuinely listen to whilst dancing in the shower!" Foxington chimed in all the while both Tarantula and Piranha faced back with confusion spread across their faces like butter as Wolf rode up a wall and soon found himself in mid-air yet again as he landed on the roof of a nearby building. "Oh, come on! You're telling me you don't sing in the shower or dance in the shower? Since when did the life of the notorious Bad Guys turn so grey?" Diane raised her paws for a moment as Wolf jumped from one building to the next whilst focusing on the road (or lack thereof) ahead.
"Wolf likes to sing in the shower and dance a lot... Hm, now that I think about it; I now understand how both of you amigos managed to get into a relationship with the other, pure romance through insanity, woohoo!" Diane was silently enlightened by that realisation as their conversation soon fell silent as all four were consumed by the plague that was their tendency to sing along to songs whilst on the road to a destination unknown.
Moe found himself using the motorcycle whilst trying his best to chime in the karaoke with his companions as a moving catalyst as he saw the buildings in front of him as skipping stones that increased in difficulty up until he found a small ramp which led to him being suspended in mid air alongside his friends for some time. Time slowed around them as Piranha experienced a view of the city he was about to leave behind for some time and felt a sense of bliss knowing he was about to thwart the plan of a villain instead of being the villain.
Everyone experienced the tingle of positivity spread throughout their skin, scales as well as exoskeleton as Wolf landed on a nearby road and soon soared off into the distance with everyone singing, single handedly leaving his mark atop many buildings considering the tire marks he had left behind due to his somewhat reckless driving whilst on top of those buildings. With a road lined with a steel guide rail, the lack of light or cars on the more quieter country road they were traversing in an attempt to reach Marmalade's compound ahead of him; he knew the only thing that was appropriate at that time was to step on the gas and race to his destination.
Whilst their song faded into radio silence and the wind blew against their ears, motivation started pulsing through their veins as they knew they were destined to reach into the past once again. With the man who had brought them so many revelations yet so many failures merely a hilltop away with Wolf leading the charge with his pack into an uncertain investigation, who knew how their pursuit of this pig as well as their foretold destination would treat them.
Tarantula remained optimistic that Marmalade was still a little foolish and also rusty from his time in prison and therefore assumed that he wouldn't pull off an impressive feat all the while Piranha felt genuinely intimidated by the guinea pig. All the while, Diane and Wolf exchanged mindsets filled with unease... That something wasn't quite right with Marmalade nor did they assume that their adventure into the wilderness of the professor's abandoned compound and the remnants of the Love Crater Meteorite would lead to anything positive.
The blanket of cosmos soon appeared above them, their hearts lifted from their moment of darkness and with Tarantula putting on another song which was more chipper in nature; the entire gang suddenly felt almost invincible and that Professor Marmalade would be caught faltering...
Yet they seemed and most likely were oblivious to the ruse he had been orchestrating since the beginning.
