Chapter 6: Detention with a Flamingo
Both Harry and Naruto were walking to Professor Umbridge's office ready for their detention. The two were annoyed that they have to serve detention on their first day, and it's with someone they already loathe on their first day. Naruto knocks on the door to the freshly revamped Defense Against the Dark Arts office. "Come in," Umbridge said, smiling as both boys entered the office. Honestly the office looked horribly pink as hundreds of plates were stacked and placed around the walls. Each plate shows off a kitten that would meow and play with its paws. Naruto has to admit that while he doesn't have a problem with cats, this is just flat out wrong, especially as it belongs to Umbitch here.
"Sit, you're going to be doing some lines for me boys," she said. Both Naruto and Harry bend down to reach their bags to find a quill, when Umbridge stops them. "No not with your quill. You're going to be using a rather special one of mine," she stated. Both boys raised an eyebrow, but nonetheless they complied as they took a seat. Honestly the two just wanted to get this over with, so the two took the quill that was handed to them and were ready to write whatever she instructed them to. "Now you're going to write…I must not tell lies. You're going to write that for as long as it takes for the message to sink in. Oh and you won't need any ink," she said, turning to look out the window. Naruto began to write and a sudden throbbing took over his non-writing hand as the boy wrote the line over and over again. The pain increased every time they wrote, and it was as if they were getting branded or burnt. The words started to appear on both boys' arms. Honestly this woman has to be really sadistic enough to do this kind of shit as if this were the medieval ages.
"Yes?" she questioned as she walked over to Harry's desk. "Nothing," Harry replied begrudgingly, not wanting to give Umbitch the satisfaction of showing weakness. "That's right. Because deep down you know you deserved to be punished…don't you Mr. Potter, and you too Mr. Uzumaki." Now that really crossed the line with Naruto, but he had to suck it up and endure the punishment. Soon detention was over as Naruto and Harry left, but they went their separate ways to figure out how to deal with this whole thing. Naruto went to the cabin and decided to vent out his frustrations as he kept punching a training dummy. He was angry alright, but a shocking thing happened. When he punched the training dummy, it was as if his hand glowed yellow and had yellowish flames. "What the hell is this?!" Naruto yelled out to himself until Kurama decided to call him. "Naruto! Calm down for a second and let me explain!" he ordered his host. Naruto calms down and motions for Kurama to explain. "Naruto, I believe you may have unintentionally used the fox-fire technique, due to all the emotions that are pulsating out of you. This technique is said to be powerful as well as dangerous if not mastered properly," Kurama explained.
Naruto was surprised, but also kind of confused, "Fox fire technique? How does it work?" Kurama sighed, "Normally this technique can only apply to fox summoners, but since you are my host, you are considered an exception. However even if you are my host, this power is really rare and only those with high levels of chakra can wield it to its limit, and you are also one of the selected few to have this ability. And for how it works, you have to harness your chakra, and channel it to somewhere like your arm to release the power and since your emotions are high, this power also increases." Naruto nods, "I see, but wait why is mine yellow?" he asked. "To answer your question, normally it depends on the user so the color is either the same or different." Naruto was pretty interested and excited that he learned a new power, but he had to clean up the area as the training dummy looked pretty charred. Itachi flew in to check up with Naruto, "Hello Naruto how-"
"Naruto, what happened to your arm?" Itachi questioned him seriously. Naruto explained everything and needless to say Itachi was shocked and angry as his eyes turned into the Mangekyo Sharingan. But soon he calmed down as he knew if he were to go after Umbridge, it would only make matters worse. Luckily the words in blood ink were gone thanks to his healing factor, but it left a nasty scar that might take time to heal. "Naruto, I suggest bandaging your arm, and also writing about this to Tsunade. She'll send you something to help out with the wound if it keeps hurting," Itachi stated. Naruto wanted to protest, but he knew Itachi was just looking out for him, so he decided to follow through with it. Naruto leaves but not before explaining to Itachi about his new awakened powers, which interested the ex anbu captain, as he told the boy to show it to him the next time they trained.
Naruto arrives at the Gryffindor Common Room to see that Harry was sitting by himself. "Harry, how's the arm doing?" Naruto asked, as Harry looked at him tiredly. "I'm…alright I guess? Let's keep this a secret from the others. I don't want to give Umbridge any satisfaction alright?" Naruto nodded, placing his hand in his pocket as both Ron and Hermione came to check them. "Hey guys, how are you doing?" Naruto asked, trying to smile and forget the whole detention that happened. The two greeted him, but Hermione noticed that something was up with Naruto as he placed his right hand in his pocket suspiciously. "What are you hiding in your pocket?" she asked inquisitively. Naruto was surprised, "Uh nothing, just some candy, that's all," Naruto lied. She gave him the look, which honestly made Naruto a little bit nervous. He sighed and showed her the bandaged hand. "Why is your arm bandaged? What are you trying to hide?" she asked. Naruto was trying to think of something quick, "I got this because of a training accident." She raised an eyebrow, "Really, a training accident, when we all know that you heal quickly, so stop trying to cover up your hand and show us, please Naruto allow us to help you?" she pleaded.
Naruto soon unwrapped the bandage and showed the three his arm, and needless to say they were shocked. "She did this, didn't she?" Hermione asked, looking furious, but not at Naruto. "You two have got to tell Dumbledore about this." But Harry shook his head, "No. Dumbledore's got enough on his mind now," Harry stated. "Anyway we don't want to give Umbridge the satisfaction."
"Bloody hell lads, she's bloody torturing you two! If your parents knew about this," Ron stated before realizing his mistake. "I get it Ron, really I get it, but it won't change a thing, it never does, never will," Naruto stated with a sense of cynicism. "Naruto," Hermione said, turning to the blond worriedly. "Naruto, you've got to report this. It's perfectly simple-"
But Naruto shook his head, "It's never that simple, trust me I know from experience." Harry got up and told the others he's not going to report it to Dumbledore as he agreed with what Naruto stated about how it wasn't easy to report this and soon he left despite the brunette's pleas. "Guys…it's best we give Harry some space. With everything that's happened from last year to now, the guy really needs a break, and I can sympathize with that notion. Don't worry about him either, I'm going to be by his side…after all I'm one of 'The Boys Who Lie' so trust me, capiche?" Ron nodded, "You will tell us if anything is wrong, won't you? Not only with Harry, but yourself?" Ron asked. "Mate we didn't even get to spend enough time with you after what happened with Jiraiya's death and you taking care of that baby sister we haven't been introduced to yet along with everything else." Naruto nods, "Ok then…but I just wanted to say to you guys, thank you…for sticking by mine and Harry's side…you guys mean everything to me you know that, so…thank you," Naruto said sincerely. Ron and Hermione nodded and they went their separate ways as Naruto stared at the fireplace contemplating the whole thing that happened today.
