Chapter 10: Ambush at Hogsmeade

The group of individuals who were plotting to rebel against Umbridge and the ministry were called Dumbledore's Army or D.A. for short. So as such the D.A. have been focusing on learning defense techniques by being practical about it. Both Harry and Naruto were the mentors of the group as Harry was teaching them magic, while Naruto was teaching them how to fight in case they were disarmed in battle. The group was lined up to practice the Expelliarmus spell on a practice dummy. Neville went first and tried to cast the spell, but the wand flew backwards instead and everybody had to duck as the wand hit the glass wall. "I'm hopeless," Neville said, glumily. "You're just flourishing your wand too much," Harry sympathized. "Try it like this, Expelliarmus."

The fake wand was flicked out of the mannequin's hand. Everybody got their chance, and soon it was time for Naruto's moment to introduce what he is going to train everyone in. "Ok since I'm the only one in this school with unique powers, I won't show you how to use these powers of mine. Instead I'm going to teach you how to fight without the need of magic, meaning I'm going to show you hand to hand combat. Firstly I'm going to teach you a fighting technique that requires the use of a wand and a knife to hold your enemies. By that, I'm going to teach you CQC." Someone raised their hands, "Yes?" Naruto asked. "What is CQC?" Naruto smiled, "That is what I'm going to show you, here come on up and let me demonstrate." So the person comes up and stands in front of Naruto. "Alright I want you to punch me," Naruto ordered, much to the shock of the volunteer. The volunteer did so, but Naruto moved the wrist away as he applied wrist control, drawing his opponent's hand to the outside as he stepped forward and placed his hand on his opponent's jaw, driving the person forward as he swept the person's leg and hips backwards, slamming the person to the ground. Everybody was surprised by how quick Naruto was when he demonstrated that movement.

Naruto picks up the volunteer by the hand, as he begins to turn to his students. "That you saw right there is one of the basic takedown techniques of CQC, but I warn you other ones will be more complicated as we progress. But don't worry, I'll help you guys along the way with basic training." So Naruto decided to go over with the basics by having them hone their punches and kicks on a training dummy first, before they move on to learning takedowns. Everybody including his friends practiced their punches and kicks on the provided training dummies. They did this for about an hour or so until a sparring match took place. It was both Harry and Cedric who went up first. "Alright, are you two ready?" Naruto asked. They nodded and faced each other, "Ok…begin!" he started, as both boys began to spar. Both boys attempted to disarm each other through what they learned, until it was Harry who went for the takedown, making him the winner of the sparring match. He went over to Cedric and offered a hand. "That was amazing Harry, you managed to do it on your first time," Cedric stated in amazement, taking the boy's hand as he was picked up. "I must agree with Cedric here, you managed to get the takedown on your first try," Naruto stated, complimenting his friend. "Ok now that is cleared up, looks like our first session is over, but before you go, here is a list of exercises to do to increase your strength and speed, don't worry it isn't that intense like mine is, but it should be enough," Naruto stated as he handed the students his list of exercises to do.

Soon everybody left the Room of Requirements leaving Naruto and his friends in the room. "Well that was a successful lesson, wasn't it?" Hermione stated, as they all nodded. "Bloody hell Naruto, your training is really intense," Ron stated, looking rather winded. Naruto chuckled, "Trust me I know, but be glad it wasn't Jiraiya, otherwise he would've made it a lot harder. But guys, before we leave for the night I want to show you something," he said. "What is it?" Harry asked. Naruto shows off his hands as they glow yellow and are on fire. This shocked the group, "Bloody hell mate, your hands are on fire!" Ron exclaimed. "Yeah I know, and apparently, the reason why is because I unlocked a new technique on the night I got detention with Umbitch, and I have been secretly training this technique to show it to you guys now."

"What is the technique called?" Hermione asked. "The technique is called the fox fire technique, here let me show you its capability," Naruto stated. He goes up to a training dummy and does the hand signs for the technique. He punches the dummy with his glowing yellow hands as the dummy gets charred from every repeated strike. "I'm still trying to harness much of the technique, but so far I'm starting to get the hang of it." The blond explained more about this technique, and soon it led to more questions, but that could wait another day or so, as they all went back to the common room.

Timeskip

It's been a couple of days since the first D.A. lesson, and so far things are progressing pretty well. Harry and sometimes Naruto teach the students some offensive and defensive spells, while Naruto teaches the students combat skills. Soon they will get into weapons training as Naruto was going to bring in a few training weapons for them to utilize to see which is their preferred weapon to use if they are ever in a situation that makes their wand useless. Right now Naruto was in Hogsmeade, as he was picking up a package from the post office. Apparently Itachi ordered something for Naruto, meant only for him. Naruto arrives at the post office and picks up the package. As he was leaving, he noticed something suspicious, as there were a bunch of suspicious people watching and tailing him. Luckily the Naruto that was walking out in the open was a clone, because the real one already managed to get the package and found a place to put on his disguise he dubs 'The Fox.' Anyways as the clone Naruto was walking to some alley, all of a sudden he got ambushed by these suspicious people. "For our master, Menma!" they screamed as they stabbed the clone. The clone fell to the ground bleeding out, but as they prepared to walk away, the clone poofed away.

"What the…" one of them shouted, when all of a sudden a kunai was thrown at the man's shoulder. Naruto, dressed up as the fox, arrives and performs CQC on the man, taking him down. The others soon drew out knives, but Naruto could take them on. One of them rushes at him, but he avoids as the man who went to stab him got kicked in the back by Naruto. Another rushed to throw a punch, but the punch got deflected as Naruto grabbed the arm and twisted it, making the man yell out in pain, even when Naruto broke a couple more of the man's bones. However, some lucky punk managed to strike Naruto in the face, almost fully breaking the mask. But Naruto wasn't having it as he avoided the second punch, and threw a kunai at the man's abdomen. The guy fell to the ground, clutching his stomach in pain. Naruto saw that all of them were down, except one of them was running away. Soon he gave chase, and the chase was pretty intense, until the two finally faced each other. It was a knife fight, as the two attacked and blocked each other using knives. But soon Naruto decided to end the fight using his wand, "Stupefy!" he shouted as the spell came out blasting the perpetrator. The perpetrator was knocked out, and so Naruto tied him up and waited till he woke up.

The perpetrator soon woke up to find himself in the Shrieking Shack, tied up to a chair. "So you're awake…good cause I have some questions I want to ask you," Naruto stated as he played with a knife. "I ain't tellin ya shit! Now let me go!" the perpetrator yelled struggling to get free. "I wouldn't do that if I were you, as you'll make this much…WORSE!" Naruto stated, jabbing the knife at the guy's knee as he screamed in pain. "Why did Menma send you and cronies to kill me?" Naruto asked calmly. "Eat shit asshole!" he yelled as Naruto shook his head. "Wrong answer," he stated, as he jabbed the knife even deeper, worsening the guy's injury. "Oh I could make this much worse," Naruto said as he was preparing a rasengan, to drill it into the man's stomach. "Ok! Ok! I'll tell you!" he soon blurted as Naruto was about to do as promised. "Ok then…talk. Why did Menma send you out here to kill me?" The guy revealed how he was hired by Menma to test him before he went out of his way to kill Naruto personally. "Who is Menma?" Naruto asked. "I don't know him personally, but all I know is he looks-"

Soon the man was having a seizure-like attack as strange black markings appeared along with his veins in his eyes bulging violently, before the eyes started bleeding, making the man lifeless like a vegetable. "God damn it! I was so close to finding out who this bastard was!" Naruto yelled in frustration. Naruto checked the man's corpse and found the reason why he died. "A suicide seal, huh? Probably used in case he were to reveal any potential secrets if captured, whoever made this seal must be an expert." Naruto looks to see that the mask he wore for the disguise was broken, "Guess I'm going to need to replace my mask." He leaves quickly before anyone else shows up, and returns to the area where he changed clothes quickly.

Naruto arrives back in the cabin and hides the package in a secret location, as he soon walks back to the common room. He sees his friends were there waiting for him looking worried. "Naruto, where were you? The others were asking us about your whereabouts, so much so that we had to end the session early," Harry stated. Hermione gasps as she sees Naruto looking worse for wear, "Oh my god, Naruto you're bleeding, what happened?!" she asked. Naruto sighed, "Might as well tell you guys." He motions for them to sit down, as he explained how he was ambushed by a bunch of suspicious people, when all of a sudden, a masked man(himself) saved him. "I helped the masked man out in the fight, and we managed to interrogate the cunt himself. Turns out he was hired by Menma to go after me as a test for some reason. When I asked him who Menma was, he suddenly got some sort of mental shutdown esque attack, until we found out it was a suicide seal. Whoever Menma is, he seems to be pretty skilled at fuinjutsu as well," Naruto stated, as his injury was already healed thanks to Kurama. "This is bad, real bad, you have to tell Dumbledore about this," Ron urged. Naruto shook his head, "Dumbledore is already dealing with enough, guys promise me you will keep this a secret from the others…please?" Naruto pleaded, and they reluctantly accepted, although this raised a question as to who Menma was.
